Maya Darklight Plead guilty to reduced charges, murder conviction overturned say a source

According to our information, the confess of Patrick Longfield about the Murder of Caia means that Maya will see her conviction for murder overturned. Hoverer it does not mean she is out of jail. According to our info, she Plead guilty to charges for around 15 years, minus the she already serve in jail. Our journalist tried to get as much info as they can. but unfortunally, they where not able to question Maya Darklight, the only thing we heard is that she apparently said she would spend 15 years jail because she was with the wrong man. We are awaiting more information from the autorities in that case.

Marnady Evil, chef of the PLCA, said that he is not surprised by the news
You see, one of the major difference between the right and the left is our reaction to crimes, towards we are more lenient, we tend more believe in redemption, we tend to more soft towards crimes. While at right, we prefer to be though on crime. The current administration is very though on crime. So there is few chance that Maya is going to get out of jail that easily. I can't say for sure, but I think that the PLCA might be tented to show more of their soft hearts. I can't tell you I'm just the guy who sign papers in party, I decide nothing, I hear nothing. I have the right to talk but that is all. Personnally, what I hope, is that this news can cut some democrats who are spreading about communists.

Berkman Survives Leadership Challenge Amid Concerns Over A Divided Left
Image
Mr Berkman at the RAC National Conference

Harold Berkman RAC leader defeated challenger Senator Joseph Hill today in a Leadership battle for the RAC.
Senator Hill a critic of Berkman who in a shock move decided to stand against him in his bid for reelection in which Senator Berkman is Normally Unopposed,
Senator Hill has previously criticised Berkman on his Leadership and Economic Positions,
Hill a Member of the Moderate Socialist-Libertarian wing of the party announced his Candidacy after the RAC Lost 14 seats in the election, Hill claimed that Berkman had been to focused on the Presidential campaign than campaigning for his party

Mr Hill told reporters "Harold Berkman got greedy, he saw a chance to become VP if Kinney got elected, Kinney did much better than her party as did Berkman it showed that they got caught up on their ambitions. He is not a fit leader

But Mr Berkman denied this stating that he was entirely focused on the RACP and not his own "ambitions" as mr Hill put it

And clearly the RACP Members believed Senator Berkman Because they elected him over Hill with 57% of the vote
But many expressed worry about the future of the Left in Baltusia, especially due to the Communist-UDP rift and the strength of the Republicans.

The RACP Leadership Election Result
Harold Berkman 57%
Joseph Hill 33%
Andrea Dillon 5%
Other Candidates 4%
Re-open nominations 1%

Pastor Bradley lectures Indrala about dragons and Leah's Ark

Hosian Democrat chairman Dashaud Edwards has tried to soothe Indralan anger over the comments of his newly-elected Congressman, Pastor Bradley Powell, who notoriously claimed the dragon on Indrala's flag is a representation of Satanail.

"All I feel I can say is that Bradley Powell's views are entirely his own; they do not represent the Hosian Democrat caucus, they do not represent the Republican Party, they do not represent the Baltusian government and they most certainly do not represent the Baltusian people," he said. He continued:

I understand the offence the comments have caused. Speaking as a Baltusian, and also a Hosian, I greatly value Indrala and the Indralan people, and value the relationship between our two countries. I most sincerely hope - as do all my colleagues - that this incident will not cause any lasting disruption in our relationship.

Edwards also indicated he has "asked Bradley Powell to reflect carefully on his remarks, and retract and apologise", hinting that if he does not do so, "the Hosian Democrats, as a caucus, will need to look into that". This was taken as a threat to have Powell removed from the caucus, although given Powell's popularity, it is by no means clear such an attempt would be successful. An earlier effort to stop him becoming a Hosian Democrat candidate for Congress had been blocked just before the election.

"Pastor Bradley", as he is known, responded by calling a press conference, which was packed with journalists - many of them from abroad, since this news story has been picked up far and wide.

To begin with, he seemed to be dialling back a bit, talking about how "there are a lot of things I really like, really admire about the Indralans" and telling the journalists about a visit he made to the country 7 years ago, and about what his favourite Indralan dishes are.

Then he explained "Most Indralans are not knowingly worshipping Satanail because they do not recognise the dragon as Satanail", arguing "this is because Satanail is a master of deception and deploys all the stratagems he can to lead people astray".

A journalist then asked him "can you tell us, straight out, whether the dragon on the flag is Satanail?" and Pastor Bradley replied "Oh yes, definitely, without a doubt - it's all in the Katub (OOC: bible)".

Asked to explain what he meant, he then went on to read out a series of quotations from the Katub about dragons, including:

In that day the LORD will punish Indralathan the fleeing serpent, With His fierce and great and mighty sword, Even Indralathan the twisted serpent; And He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satanail, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satanail, and bound him a thousand years.

Pastor Bradley then went on to tell the Indralans he is "praying for them" and urged them to "study the letters of the ancient Indralan language", claiming "if you look at the letters closely, you see they tell many of the stories from the Katub".

Image

As an example, he claimed the ancient Indralan letter for "boat" is a reference to the tale in the Katub about Leah's Ark (OOC: Noah's Ark), as it includes symbols for a boat (representing the Ark), and the number 8 and people (representing the 8 persons who were on the Ark - Leah, her husband, her 3 sons and their wives).

Image

He came up with a similar explanation about the ancient Indralan letter for "garden", claiming it is a reference to the tale in the Katub about the Garden of Auroria (OOC: Garden of Eden).

Image

However, the example he was most keen to impress upon his audience was with regards to the ancient Indralan word for "tempter", which he claimed "is a literal description of what happened in the Garden of Auroria and proves Indrala's dragon is really Satanail". He then went on to plead with the Indralan people to "cast aside the chains of Satanail and come to Eliyahu, who will liberate you and save you".

Many of the journalists at the press conference were quite shocked by the statements Pastor Bradley was making, and one asked him whether he was "concerned about how big Indralan companies are going to react to this?" He replied that "all good Hosians" should boycott such companies because "they are agents of Satanail and they are trying to silence the People of God".

Governor Sam Carter Criticizes Republicans over Congressman Powell scandal

Image
Governor Sam Carter (D) appearing on LexTV's the Late Show with Boyd Evans

Westbrook Governor, Sam Carter, surprised Baltusia when he went from unknown Moderate Democrat to Governor of Westbrook. In the short time since being elected Governor of Westbrook, Sam Carter has been sure to make his presence felt and has very high approval rating early on. Governor Carter's biggest strength so far has been his ability to bridge relations between Democrats and Republicans in the Westbrook General Court but time will tell if he is able to continue to play such a positive role in relations between the two parties as he was recently very critical of the Republican Party amid the ongoing scandal involved newly elected Congressman Bradley Powell.

Governor Sam Carter on Bradley Powell
"...Look, Bradley Powell believes he is a man of god, doing god's work but he is not. He is a truly low-grade man lacking the moral compass to really give anyone advice on how they should or shouldn't live their life, let alone people in a country he has maybe step foot in once...The Republicans are just as much at fault as Congressman Powell is, they are the ones who gave this man a platform to speak on and then if that wasn't enough, they gave him the freaking bullhorn..."

Governor Carter went on to further criticize President Howell's administration for having not even acknowledged Congressman Powell's comments before or after the elections.

Sage Kinney say Congressman Powell is just wrong to criticize Indrala on religious Belief.

Its not fair to aint the ones who don't share your beliefs as devil worshipers.
Sage Kinney

Sage kinney, the PLCA presidential Candidate who announced to be pregnant once again, and presented her new child to the Media, a Boy named Leon Kinney-Darklight was reacting to the recent scandal between Indrala and the congressman Powell. She announce she is not certain she would be presidential candidate for the next elections.

You guys know, I want kids, and i guessed I waited a too long for having them, but its better to start sooner then later, So yeah, here I present Leon, A sweet born 3 month, and in 8 months, I think I'll have to present another kid. So no, I don't think I'll run another presidential candidacy.
Sage Kinney

The PLCA presidential candidate was asked to comment about the recent scandal surrounding Congressman Powell

The comments made by Powell seem to have been to anger Indrala, it seem to like he is telling they have wrong belief that they should adopt hosians values, or else where they are devils. its just wrong, its not fair to paint others who do not our values as some kind of devils worshipers. And no, the congressman Powell does not know a thing about Satanail, for Satanail is not the evil demon, he is the liberator of humanity, the one who gave fire and free conscience from humanity, the ones who allowed us to think by ourselves, instead of following an arbitrary set of presumption. The people of Indrala values the dragon as a symbol of power, strengh, and good luck, and they have every right to views them like that. I think Powell should stop spreading non-sense about others values, no one has the rights, to criticize others religious values. We satanailists do not criticize the way Powell has choose to view Satanail, and we do not criticize how they view the different angels.
Sage Kinney

Finally, Sage Kinney was asked to comment about Maya's overturned conviction

its a relief, we knew Maya did not such as killing her own, and I hope to be visit her as soon as I can, I really hope we can help her recover from her situation.

Sweetwater: "The Views of an Idiot are still just that; the Views of an Idiot"

Image
Vice President Julian Sweetwater

In a sharp rebuke of the controversy created by Congressman Bradley Powell, Vice President Sweetwater made a very public statement on the matter.

Congressman Powell does not speak for the Republican Party not it's Hosian Democratic Caucus, but that the Caucus allowed him to run reflects on them just as much that the Caucus reflects upon the greater Republican Party as a whole. So let me state this for the record; Congressman Powell speaks for no one save himself, and for him to have the audacity to go on live television to "apologize" and then proceed to attempt to lecture one of our closest allies and trading partners that their entire nation is wrong was completely wrong, over the line and frankly offensive. The Executive has already told the House Majority Leader, the House Majority Whip and the Chairman of the Caucus in no uncertain terms we expect this man to be dealt with and harshly; the views of an idiot are just that, the view of an idiot, but right now those idiotic views have painted as us all with the same brush, so on behalf of the United States Government to Indrala, we apologize and know that I am making sure this is taken care of.

Vice President Sweetwater is considered by and far the most powerful man within the Republican Party itself, serving as the Republican National Campaign Chairman which lead to both of the Republican Party's Majorities in the previous two elections and it's rumored he hand picked the House and Senate Leadership teams after their successes.

While the Republican Party has no official mechanism to remove a person from their party, citing free of association, the Party's Congressional Leadership does have some tools, and based on the leaning of the Vice President has chosen to enforce them. House Majority Leader, Congressman Derek Shepard of Santiago, has confirmed that Powell has been removed from all Congressional Committees, and has had his speaking time cut to absolute zero. Veronica Simmonds, the Vice President's Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chairwoman of the Republican National Campaign, has also confirmed that the Republican Party will be cutting off all PAC Money to his campaign until Powell makes a full retractment of his statement and a complete apology.

Simmonds confirmed this was merely the first vert public action that being taken with hopes that the Hosian Democratic Chairman would take action internally. With that failure, with apparently the Secretary Edwards not wanting to reign him too much with how much clout the Congressman has with the religious wing of the party.

Howell: "We Unequivocally Condemn Xenophobia"

Image

President Howell held a press conference today to speak on Pastor and Republican representative Bradley Powell's comments.

To my fellow Baltusians, our administration condemns, in full force, Rep. Bradley Powell's unacceptable and xenophobic comments against the Indralan nation. His comments betray a total lack of respect for other cultures, something that we cannot stand by as an administration or a nation. On behalf of Baltusia, I would like to extend our deepest apologies to the Indralan government and the Indralan people. Indrala's beautiful heritage does not deserve to be attacked by anyone. I have met with the Indralan ambassador to Baltusia, and have communicated with the Head of Government of Indrala, and have issued them apologies as well.

President Howell also noted that since Congressman Powell made his remarks, he is no longer allowed to have audience with Howell's administration.

"I'm sincerely sorry that you were offended" Powell tells Indralans

Under increasing pressure from his caucus and his party to lay to rest the controversy over the dragon on Indrala's flag, Bradley Powell has called another press conference in order to tell the Indralans "I want to say to Indrala and the Indralan people I'm sincerely sorry you were offended by what I said, but it was never my intention to disrespect you or offend you, only to save you from being misled by Satanail and his wiles".

Pressed by journalists over whether he stood by his comments, he said:

If you want me to say Satanail isn't Satanail, I can't do that because that would be a lie. If you want me to say dragons are not of Satanail then I'm not going to do that either because it's not true - it's in the Katub (OOC: bible) that dragons are one of the forms Satanail takes. The dragon on the Indralan flag is the dragon called Indralathan, and we know who he is - he is described explicitly in the Katub, and he is Satanail.

Image

Image
Another title on Powell's blacklist

Powell went on to talk about the "dangerous and insidious pervasiveness of dragons in popular culture, including in children's fiction and entertainment", demanding "the government needs to take firm action to stop Satanail from being able to market his dragons as though they are cute or are somehow positive role models".

Soon after these comments were made, the Hosian Democrats' National Executive Committee hastily convened, decided Powell's apology was not sufficient and suspended him from the caucus for a 1 month period on the charge of "bringing the caucus into disrepute".

The move against Powell has triggered a backlash within some parts of the caucus, however. Despite his tendency towards outlandish and controversial comments, Bradley Powell is a popular and charismatic religious pastor with a personal support base which goes way beyond the world of party politics.

Lalique Dickerson, who serves as the Hosian Democrats' Minister of Health, commented:

I think just about everyone recognises Bradley Powell's comments were ludicrous. There is nobody who agrees with him - he was speaking for himself alone. The offence the Indralans have taken to this is understandable, but I have to say, there is a degree of over-reaction involved here as well. Just as I would not judge the Indralan government on the basis of comments made by a lone maverick member of the Lotus Party, I would expect the Indralans not to judge the Baltusian government on the basis of comments made by a lone maverick member of the Hosian Democrats. I mean, I don't know how things work in Indrala, but here in Baltusia, we have free speech, and that means our elected representatives occasionally make comments which are disagreeable and which are not in line with what their own party stands for. In a democratic system, this will always be a part of political life, and I think we need to be grown up and mature about that.
