Baltusian government cracks down on "clueless" protesters
February 5471 - Johnston,

The federal government in Johnston called the protesters demanding neutral foreign politics "clueless". According to President McKinney, they are incapable of even just grasping the consequences their proposed handling of this situation would have. He declared in a press statement that Baltusia has never been and will never be a neutral nation and that both our geopolitical situation as well as the extent of this sitation do not allow to lean back and watch the world fall apart. Furthermore, the general population seems to approve the action taken by the government as citizens started mocking the protesters on social media channels.
The government will never step down on this action as a sign of international solidarity with Beiteynu and the population of the disputing countries. Hence, the federal police ended the protest. Most protesters left the site peacefully, many had to be detained.

Survey about the conflict
(Backdated, ca. 5 months) 23rd of February 5471, Johnston - USB public support for Beiteynu is rising and most Baltusian think Lourenne should back down and end this conflict, which escalated into an international crisis, peacefully.

In a statistic conducted by the independent NGO "Baltusian Survey Service (BSS)" with around 50.000 participants aged 16 - 80, around 66% of respondents answered that they personally support Beiteynu in the current conflict. 14% of participants think that Baltusia should support Lourenne and another 14% believe that the US should stay neutral. The remaining 6% answered that they're unsure about the current situation. About four fithts of Libertarians support Beiteynu whilst most Movement of Freedom voters support neutrality. Minor party members and independants are equally split between the countries.

This survey can reassure Beiteynu on Baltusian soldarity if a hot conflict or a cold war should occur. Furthermore, AMI leadership and the Secretary of Defense explained that the US will always be open to support Beiteynu and that it will also expand its' own military with a special focus on the navy branch.


Military Readiness
(Backdated, ca. 5 months) 25th of February 5471, Johnston - Secretary of Defense ramps up military production and readiness as conflict goes on.

In a recent press statement by Alexandra Kelley, spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense, she announced that the Baltusian government will strengthen their connections with private defense industries. She explained that the BDF is going to expand its' naval branch as it's currently underpowered compared to the two other military branches. This will include several new project with AMI as well as international training programs for the freshly recruited Baltusian seamen. She also stated that the storage capacity for fuel, ammunition and other essential goods for a possible war will be greatly increased as the conflict between Lourenne and Beiteynu is still on-going. Hence, the Department of Defense recieved a special funding from the Ministry of Defense of around $100.000.000.000BLD.

Good morning fellow Baltusian citizens. I am talking you from one Baltusian to another. Our nation and the world have entered unpredictable and chaotic times. It seems as if every day could be our last; as if the world was about to end. But no matter how dark and empty this situation may seem, Baltusia has never surrenderd. We aren't just any Terrans; we're citizens of Baltusia and we shall remain undefeated.
Ladies and gentlemen, I, President McKinney hereby declare a state of emergency in our nation. In order to protect us from external threats, I have activated War Plan Omega. The nation will prepare shelters and rapidly build new ones as world tension increases. In order to build all new shelters, we will need huge amounts of working citizens. Hence, the Federal Government is currently organizing a recruitment post in every hospital, police station and school around the country. Accepting this offer means that you will go through a period of diffcult work and change. In order to compensate for your personal losses, the Baltusian Government will lift all criminal charges you obtained in your life and you'll be freed from prison if you decide to help in this project. Most importantly however, the citizens of Baltusia will thank you and remember you as a hero for the nation eternally.
This crisis will require all of us to change our current way of living, no matter the outcome.

Baltusia preparing for war

Baltusian Navy Movements

The Ministry of Defense, now led by General George Montgomery has announced, that the newly produced Baltusian missile cruisers have left their ports roughly 2 hours ago. They will join the Beiteynuse task forces around the globe. Their mission is to defend our beiteynuse allies in their fight against the Lourennais menace. Any attack on their vessels will be seen as an attack on us and the Lourennais government should prepare for a retaliation if they decide to go this far.

Lourennais Exclusion Zone

Furthermore, General Montgomery has enacted a 400km exclusion zone off Baltusia’s coast. All Lourennais vessels are urged to leave the area as soon as possible. The Secretary of Defense announced that any Lourennais vessels still operating in this area after the 12 hour time period will be neutralized with lethal force.

War Economy

Lastly, the Federal Government based in Johnston ordered all private defense industries to prepare for mass production as the risk of war increases. The government stated that this will be financed by War Bonds and special financial packages given to the companies. The production is mainly going to focus on anti-air and anti-sea ammunition in order to prevent the Lourennais menace from even reaching our shores. However, defense experts claim that the chance of attacks or invasions on the Baltusian mainland remains “unlikely”,

Human Rights and Peace Committee Urges the President to Reconsider War with Lourenne

Today, the Human Rights and Peace Committee urged our nation's government to reconsider it's decision to go to war with Lourenne. The president of this committee expressed concerns about potential harm to people and suggested that we should try to resolve issues without resorting to violence.

Moreover, the Baltusian Transportation Agency has doubts too. They stated that if we join the war, they may have to cease any development of new transportation projects that will undeniably improve transportation across Baltusia. The committee's head called for dialogue and peaceful solutions to the situation, urging leaders to choose peace over conflict. As the situation worsens, more and more people from various fields and locations agree that we need to find another solution that does not include using the armed forces.Both the Committee and BTA emphasize how difficult and far-reaching the leaders' decisions might be. EcoRobotics - Baltusian AI & Robotics company on the rise

15th of July 5473, San Luis - EcoRobotics, a company focused on R&D in the fields of AI, robotics and an ecological future is now entering new business fields.

The company which had spent its first few years in R&D has now entered a new business branch. CEO Gallagher recently announced that his start-up will start the production of high-end personal computers which will heavily rely on AI. He stated that the first PC, optimistically named Promixa 1 will enter the market in around 4 months at a starting price of around $1.600BLD. Furthermore, the company explained that there will be a package costing $2.200BLD which is also going to include an EcoRobotics computer screen, keyboard and mouse as well as the needed cables.

Experts warn that the company is turning into vague sectors as the war harmed the Baltusian economy; more precisely the imports of important goods such as rare earth metals which are crucial for the production of electronics. CEO Gallagher however explained that risks are nescessary for success and stands with his decision.

Project Exodus

Project Exodus was first created on the 28th of February 5471 as the Hubris War increased tensions on Terra. It was founded to assure a future for the citizens of Baltusia and their federal government. The construction and operation of the so-called "Safehouses" were transferred to Safehouse Inc. on the 28th of February 5476, marking the project's 5-year anniversary. However, the company remains mainly funded by the Baltusian government. The over 100 nuclear bunkers, constructed by former prisoners and a very diverse workforce coming from all branches of the industry, are planned to become operational throughout this decade. However, Safehouse 001 had already opened on the 12th of January 5471 to lay the foundation for the future of Baltusia. The bunkers had soon been sold out, earning the company around $2.400.000 BLD as 80 people bought a place in the Safehouse.

Safehouse concept

The Safehouses, built for the Baltusian people, were made to protect society and human civilization in the case of a nuclear war. To achieve this goal, Safehouse Inc. decided to establish a democratic presidential election system for each bunker. Every 4 years the inhabitants of the shelters are supposed to elect a so-called "Supervisor" who's responsible for the well-being of the citizens, constant supply of food and water as well as keeping order inside the bunker. The multi-generational bunkers are made to last for around 100 years. After that time, the inhabitants should leave the bunker and establish a new civilization in the outside world. The Supervisors will then elect one person to lead the new nation in its build-up. Elections will be held every 5 years and a constitution according to democratic and free values is to be written immediately.
Furthermore, each bunker has a capacity of at least 80 people; a "farm area" to assure a steady supply of grain and food; a water refreshment and purification area; several rooms dedicated to medicine and treatment of injuries; multiple community rooms and 50 rooms made for the inhabitants to live in. Each one of those rooms will include a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, and a bed to sleep on. Only married couples or people in a relationship will be accepted into this program to ensure reproduction.

Safehouse Inc.

Safehouse Inc. is a company never seen before by mankind. Its sole mission is to save mankind from complete annihilation and to assure the future of mankind. The company understands that this mission isn't easy but it will do anything possible to achieve its goal. Safehouse leadership declared that the company will mostly run on government funds, revenue from selling bunker slots, and public investments. They call upon the Baltusian population to invest in their future.

Evaluation

Experts said that the company, whilst aiming for a dark future, is an important and positive development in the history of mankind. They explained that whilst Terra should never come this far, we must be prepared for everything possible. On the other hand, many people question whether mankind should be allowed to continue existing after blowing up the whole planet with nuclear weapons. They call this project a desperate move to hide the flaws of current global politics and the problems created by conflicts such as the Hubris War.
