AMI NSC announces international guided-missile cruiser development


Today, on the 1st of July 5447, CEO Turner has announced the greatest project in AMI history - a joint naval R&D program including more than two other nations. The Cruiser class called "Whitney the Great" is going to be developed by AMI, Beiteynu, Kundrati and possibly soon Baltusia as their anti-market party "HPA" recently dissolved.

The one billion BLD costing cruiser is most likely going to be operated by Baltusia, Beiteynu, N&D and Kundrati. Furthermore, it will be equipped with 2 VLS and 2 6-inch cannons and several more smaller cannons, machine guns and two helicopters.
Nevertheless, the Cruiser lacks neither speed nor armor. The heavily armored ship is planned to go up to 33 Knots and have a range of 6.100 nmi (=11.297km). More information can be found on this webiste published by AMI NSC: Whitney the Great-class.

International Cooperation
International Cooperation is going to play a very important role in this big project. Experienced technicians and engineers from Kundrati as well as trained Beiteynu naval staff and experts from AMI NSC and AMI itself are going to dicuss about this Cruiser on a Conference held on the 16th of November 5447. It's going to be about the design itself, changes in armament, armor and the engine as well as the development of new electronics regarding both the active radar system and the fire control system. Also a new Electronic Warfare Suite is going to have to be developed in order to make this cruiser a state of the art predator.

Operation Lazarus - AMI announces big expansion and revival of old facilities

1st of February 5449, Somewhere in Luthori - Today, Apex Military Industries has announced a plan which had already existed when they started their Baltusian Exodus. Operation Lazarus was a plan to revive old facilities, shipyards and offices based in Baltusia. Now that a pro-market government managed to decriminalise private defense industries, AMI has decided to partially move back to Baltusia. CEO Simon Turner explained that whilst all Luthorian facilities and shipyards which are currently under construction are going to remain active, AMI is also going to have facilities in Baltusia again. Those include the shipyard which was destroyed when they left Baltusia, all factories and most R&D offices.
In the meanwhile, AMI leadership has also announced a cooperation with Vista Aerospace (VA) on the rocket manufacturing program. Their first project "E-1 'Scout'" will be a LTO (low-terra orbit) capable rocket used in order to test the automated landing sequence programmed by VA and AMI engineers. Furthermore, they will use the E-1 in order to test the emergency eject system which is going to be cruicial in Project Terraway. The Scout rocket will have 2 liquid-fuel stages which can lift up to 22 Tons of equipment into LTO.

AMI NSC continues development of Whitney the Great-class Cruisers as the (re-)opens shipyards

New Shipyard

AMI NSC has now, on the 2nd of August 5450, opened it's first shipyard in Luthori. The new shipyard, placed in the Duchy of Middenriding will be used for smaller vessels than the Whitney the Great-class Cruiser which will have a displacement of around 11.000 Tons. The new Luthorian shipyard is going to build anything up to a displacement of 9.500 Tons and will also be used in order to build a Baltusian trading fleet in the next few decades.

CEO of AMI Simon Turner has also recently announced the re-activation of old facilities in Baltusia. The announced repairs have now ended and the first guided-missile Cruiser prototype will soon start production in the old shipyard.
Along with Kundrati and Beiteynu enginners, scientists, technicians, and other experts, the production of this prototype is expected to last around three to four years. Furthermore, AMI NSC has announced that both Beiteynu and Kundrati are going to get co-production licenses once development has finished. In order the export the cruiser to third entities however, they need a special license given on a case-by-case base by the CEO of AMI NSC.

Condemning Kirlawan Coup

The United States of Baltusia has concluded that a military coup d’etat has taken place in Kirlawa. Pursuant the Department of Foreign Affairs’s annual appropriations act and the democratic governance act, the United States of Baltusia is suspending most U.S.B. assistance and relations to the government of Kirlawa.
We underscore that we will offer new life-saving humanitarian, food, and health assistance to benefit the people of Kirlawa. The United States of Baltusia also intends to continue to work with regional governments, including in Kirlawa, to advance shared interests in North Artania.

We stand with the Kirlawan people in their aspirations for democracy, prosperity, and stability. Any resumption of U.S.B. assistance and relations will require action by the Word Congress to usher in democratic governance in a quick and credible timeframe.

AMI ramps up productin as War in Kirlawa commences

8th July 5453 (backdated)

The CEO of AMI Phillip McKinney has just announced a mass production of military equipment as multiple nations go to war with Kirlawa. Immdiately after his Imperial Majesty the Emperor, Edward V announced Luthori's intervention, the head officials of Apex Military Industries met in an emergency meeting in order to dicuss their approach as their home nation finds itself at war. According to the CEO, their plan "Project Lancaster" is going to create hundreds of jobs and will include mass production of rifles, tanks and a sped-up development and production of the Whitney the Great-class Cruiser. Their factories will produce up to 12 tanks per day and hundreds of small arms. Additionally, McKinney announced that the first cruiser which will be combat-ready is going to be finished next year.
AMI continued by explaining that they also developed a new Air-to-Sea missile.

Pride Parade in Baltusia



Hundreds of thousands of people went onto the streets to day in order to demonstrate their pride and strength, endangered by radicalised parties. Only a few days ago, the NGO "Queers for Baltusia" (QFB) called for a nation-wide pride parade on the 1st of June 5455.
The people celebrated this day with streetfood, music, workshops and a huge firework at midnight in Johnston, the capital of Baltusia. We decided to interview one of the Queer participants to know about how they feel and why they decided to go to the parade and why today.
"Hello Sir. Today, thousands of people gathered in the streets of Johnston and you're one of them. Would you mind telling us why you chose to participate today?"
"Yeah so today marks a special day in the history of Queer people in Baltusia. Around 30 years ago, on this day, members of the LGBTQ community were guaranteed basic rights such as marriage, civil unions and the right to adopt children like heterosexual couples would."
"And how did life look like before that."
"Well... Back in the days you had to hide. Former parties like the UNF or the HPA tried to hunt you down everywhere with surveillance through cameras, by spying on you and asking your relatives about what happens in your bedroom. Many people in the LGBTQ community were prosecuted and put into prison or labor camps but now things have changed and we're here to celebrate our escape from oppression."

President McKinney had thanked all participants on a speech in Johnston for their activism supporting civil rights in Baltusia. He calls this an important step in Baltusian Queer history and is eager to help organize an annual pride parade with financial support.
