Political commentator and analystBAATRYNSENTII - As the forces of both Marshal Tömörkhüslee and Kezkairmsko have continued to report heavy losses at the hands of Major-General Mönkhdevshil's troops, the government in Baatrynsentii has worked arduously to establish a provisional government, clear rubble from the capitol and other towns and villages under its control, and lay the groundwork for overseeing the likely future government of New Verham. The most important priority of that has been the arranging for humanitarian corridors to be established, after the Dovani Pact signaled its growing support to dispense humanitarian aid, supplies, and to possibly establish a joint peacekeeping mission in the country. Major-General Mönkhdevshil has reportedly welcomed the news greatly, enthusiastically supporting the "united response" from the alliance, and stated that the government would work to establish safe areas for DP forces to enter New Verham "as soon as possible".
Elsewhere, the Major-General's forces had reportedly breached the defensive lines set up by the socialists in the western reaches of the country's agricultural heartlands, and had completely driven the nationalists from the south, leaving Marshal Tömörkhüslee's forces effectively contained to a pocket in the northeast of the country, according to senior military officials within the Baatrynsentii government. At the time of this publication, the forces of Negtgegch Mönkhdevshil were reporting continued successes in their offensive, stating that the majority of forces present at the initial defense were poorly-trained civilian regulars, noting a more desperate tone from last year. "This signals a change in direction from up high," an officer on the field stated to SVMA. "We're seeing civilian conscripts - militia members, really - engaging armor columns with little success. It's an unfortunate desperation coming from these socialists - using innocent civilians as cannon fodder."
The actions of the Baatrynsentii government have largely been led by the broadly-aligned "Committee for National Defense and Protection of the Constitution", or CNDPC. An all-encompassing body, the Committee has organized a majority of decrees under its leader, Major-General Negtgegch Mönkhdevshil, such as dispensing essential humanitarian aid, provide food and temporary shelters, and seek out the wounded and collect the dead. Its composition is diverse, but staunchly anti-authoritarian, comprising democrats among the military and common politicians, even including some progressives - a camp of which the Major-General apparently leans into, but denies such claims. Since its formation mere days after seizing the capitol, it has presented itself as the legitimate (and by extension sole) government of New Verham, and has stated that it will honor all prior foreign policy decisions of the Shudargaünen administration, and assigned a new provisional ambassador to the Dovani Pact, though their placement to Liore has been delayed by fighting. But it has voiced its strong opposition for the "haphazard" free market reforms of the previous government.
Structurally, the Committee functions in a temporary role as a collective head of state and government, and unified its functions with the remaining infrastructure of the former Shudargaünen administration's wartime agency, the State Bureau for Protection and Defense of the Republic, in a move to increase its efficiency in governing the regions under the Major-General's control. Other actions undertaken by the Committee have been the appointing of a provisional ambassador to the World Congress, who will attempt to fly to Whale Island to plead to the international community to dispense aid to the country, alongside offering peacekeepers as well in order to oversee and coordinate possible reconstruction efforts. Currently, the forces of the Major-General have sought to split their current divisions in two, effectively forming a two-pronged assault - one to finish off the remainder of nationalist forces in the northeast, while continuing to push into the agrarian west and northwest. While Marshal Tömörkhüslee has continued to rally his divisions, morale seems low, with more divisions having reportedly surrendered to Mönkhdevshil's forces in recent weeks.
As to the location of Marshal Tömörkhüslee, and by extension Kezkairmsko, their whereabouts are currently unknown. But the Major-General's forces have reportedly offered food and supplies to any civilian that could come forward with information - though warned that false or misleading intel could result in immediate imprisonment. "This is no game," the Major-General reportedly stated on the matter. "Aiding the nationalists or the socialists only serves to drag out this war far beyond what is necessary - escalating civilian deaths and damage. You don't have to do this. You have the power to end it - now." And predictions by military analysts may not be far off - at current rates of success for the Major-General's forces, the civil war is set to come to an end by exactly two years since the start of fighting, as both forces have reported gross logistical issues and supply shortages as forces under the command of Mönkhdevshil continue to push further into the interior.
Soldiers under the command of Major-General Negtgegch Mönkhdevshil load onto an APC in an undisclosed location within the outskirts of socialist-controlled lands. As both rival factions continue to take heavy losses as the provisional government based out of Baatrynsentii continues to make strategic gains, the civil war may be signaling the entry into its final stages. Elsewhere, Dovani Pact nations pledged with growing support to commit to dispensing humanitarian aid and potentially sending peacekeeping forces to the country, under a currently-proposed resolution in the Dovani Assembly.
