Anti-Isolationist Candidate Makes Waves April 4952

National Movement's Enzi Akpabio Cultivates Large Grassroots Campaign for Liore Presidency

After years of falling into relative obscurity as a regional party contained to the north of Liore, the National Movement Party is surging in polls for Liore's upcoming local elections, overtaking both Harambee and the Socialist Workers' Party as the second-place party in Liore, coming closely behind the reigning Union Party which is predicted to maintain its ever decreasing plurality in the People's Assembly. Spearheading this resurrection of the once dominant National Movement, as often occurs in Liori politics, is a handful of highly popular and inspirational candidates with a bone to pick with the establishment. Chief among these widely-popular party spokesmen is Dr. Enzi Akpabio, a Representative from southern Juuyada and the National Movement's candidate for the Presidential election in Liore coming in 4954.

Having spread his influence deeply into the highest public and party officials of the National Movement, Akpabio has already become a dominant force in deciding the party's platform and which policies to campaign on two years from now. With a background in foreign policy (Akpabio lectured in International Relations at the Ndidi Afolayan Academy of Politics before entering the public arena), Akpabio has been driving the party on a path to confronting the rut Liore and the Kitembo Union have found themselves in during the past several decades of isolationism. Wishing to reclaim Liore's position of prestige as a force of progress and cooperation in Dovani, Akpabio has centered his campaign on rekindling Liore's historic regional partnerships and reasserting itself as one of the East's most important economic hubs.

The state of the Liori economy has also taken a major position in the upcoming election. Having faced a prolonged period of stagnation following a brief surge following the formation of the Kitembo Union, the great Liori economic boom following the global recession of the 49th century, and even in some sectors "contraction" has been the name of the game, and has been accompanied by rising tax rates for Liore to fund the construction of a modern Kurageri. Akpabio has prescribed the sorry Liori economy mass increases in private sector subsidies and a search for favorable multilateral trade deals. However, unlike more radical members of his party, Akpabio remains firmly committed to Kitembo unity and the assistance given to Kurageri, and has made little in way of promises to reduce Liori spending on the development of Kurageri, which some analysts argue will diminish Akpabio's populist appeal and popularity in the elections. Despite this, Akpabio has remained ambiguous on the details of his policy regarding Kurageri and the Kitembo Union.

Akpabio though faces tough challengers from the other major parties. With President Mbita Fagbure not seeking reelection in 4954, his Union-Free Liore coalition has fielded Akina Sekibo as their candidate to face him. Popular among the coastal urban upper and middle classes, particularly those around Nzurchanga, Sekibo also seeks to make great change if elected, hoping to further liberalize the Liori economy and society, bringing it closer to former enemies in the West. Sekibo has also earned favor among more elite and progressive segments of the Liori electorate for being the first major female Presidential candidate since Nya Iwu, though this (along with her disregard for traditional Kitembo communities and cultures) has shot her in the foot in any chance at gaining considerable support from rural Liore. Also in the ring are two radical wildcards from Harambee and the Socialist Workers' Party, the radical traditionalist and environmentalist Chuma Effiong and Mune Ayim, who has called for mass nationalizations and a return to Liore's socialist days.

As polling currently indicates, Akpabio leads the race by a comfortable though unsafe lead despite his party's failure to take the lead, with Sekibo not far behind in second place, further trailed by Ayim, Effiong, and several other minor candidates. With the Liori national elections coinciding with the Union elections in 4954, this cycle is set to be a defining point in contemporary Liori politics.

Akpabio Skirts Liore Presidency, Elected KU President January 4954

President Enzi Akpabio Delivers Election Victory Speech Following Months of Surprise Behind-the-Scenes Moves

The past months have been an upset in the Kitembo Union's political scene. The apparent at-the-throats rivalry of the National Movement and Union Parties in the Liore national elections came to a surprising conclusion when leaders of the two parties worked out the creation of a unified party coalition, effectively combining the two parties into a single Kitembo Party, similar to the historic Liori People's Front. The Coalition Party is nominally headed by Amaziah Okorie, the previous Chairman of the Union Party, though de facto is dominated by the influence of the new President Enzi Akpabio, who as part of the coalition deal switched his campaign to run for the Presidency of the Kitembo Union rather than Liore only last October.

President Akpabio won the Presidency in a historic landslide, winning every region in the electoral college save two, Nzurchanga and Kuga which were both (the latter only narrowly) won by the liberal candidate Joshi Oyenusi. In total, Akpabio won 425 electoral votes to Oyenusi's 75 votes. In the Liori election, the seat that was once challenged chiefly by Enzi Akpabio and Akina Sekibo was won by neither, both having dropped out of the race as apart of the coalition deal, Sekibo being seen as too "anti-traditional" to be supported by members of the National Movement. The Kitembo Party did go on to win the election overwhelmingly with the candidate Nalla Magoro, a moderate candidate previously from the Union Party that made more favorable economic cooperation within the Kitembo Union a major plank in her campaign. Notably, Magoro has the distinction of being the first woman elected to the Liori Presidency, an honor she has stated in her victory speech that she "has the duty and responsibility of living up to by serving not only as a model President and Liori, but also a model human."

In all three of Liore's People's Assembly and the KU's Baraza and Mtukano, the Kitembo Party won governing majorities along with their executive victories, though in some legislatures only just slightly. Though there still exists some stark contrasts between the representatives serving for the Kitembo Party, each legislature is set to smoothly and quickly approve the cabinets of Presidents Akpabio and Magoro.

But what do these across-the-board victories mean in terms of policy? First and foremost, the victory of President Akpabio in the race for the KU's Presidency will, if supported by the government, result in an end in the KU's period of isolation and will put the Kitembo back at the forefront of global and regional politics. On the election trail, Akpabio had promised the rekindling of old ties throughout the east and the creation of new partnerships worldwide, particularly focusing on the reintegration of the Kitembo people into the Dovanian continental economy. Akpabio has also promised a response to the ever-escalating tension in northwest Dovani, calling the situation "very chilling" and in need of "Kitembo peacemaking and moderation."

Also prominent in the Kitembo Party's campaigning was the continued support for the Kuragao economy, though beginning a gradual reduction of the burden this has put on the backs of Liori taxpayers. Liori President Nalla Magoro has promised her voters to achieve a reduction in the development program and an accompanying cut in income taxes across several brackets, though along with all but the most radical members of her party, she has voiced her support for the continuation of the program following the scalebacks, an initiative supported by KU President Enzi Akpabio. President Magoro has stated that she wishes to meet with her government's counterparts in the Kuragao national government to draft a comprehensive plan for the scalebacks rather than act unilaterally on the issue.

Union Gov. Approves Funding for All-Union Nuclear Power Project July 4957
Image
Decades-Old Plan to Provide Clean and Efficient Power Without Polluting Environments Finally to be Set in Motion

For long in the Kitembo world nuclear energy has been considered to be the most efficient clean energy alternative to fossil fuel based energy production, with many forms of green energy being invested in but considered too inefficient and expensive to provide for the rapidly advancing Kitembo nations. On numerous occasions, the public and private sectors of the Kitembo nations have made attempts to create indigenous nuclear power industries with mass support from their governments and wider populations, however most of these attempts have floundered due to failure or ineptitude on behalf of their leads or through the loss of motivation and enthusiasm for these projects. Despite this, the desire for the creation of a nuclear power infrastructure remains strong in both nations of the Union, especially among moderate environmentalist and traditionalist circles who wish to see the further development and modernization of the Kitembo while avoiding the environmental degradation that accompany coal, natural gas, and oil energy.

The Union's Akpabio Administration are, however, confident that with the combined effort of both Liore and the Kurageri in the Kitembo Union can propel the two Kitembo nations into the nuclear age, and have drafted plans to finish long-performed Liori research in the field and construct a series of five prototype plants throughout the Union as a proof of concept for the future construction of a much larger integrated nuclear power infrastructure system providing a vast majority of the energy needs throughout the Union.

The first stage of this (officially titled) Preliminary Project for the Nuclearization of Kitembo Energy (PPNKE) is merely the capstone of a Liori project created by the Renewable Energy Act of 4916, that has since been neglected but still made steady progress since it's creation. With most of the research and testing having already been completed in the years following the passage of the Renewable Energy Act, the Phase One will has been given a time range of three to six months for completion, with it's tasks and goals being to compile and review Liori research and draft plans and schematics for the construction of several prototype plants.

Phase Two of the PPNKE serves as the real meat of the Project, giving Kitembo scientists and workers the job of constructing five nuclear fission reactor power plants throughout the KU. Through the nuclear fission of uranium tablets in the core of these reactors, a tremendous heat will be produced that will boil large volumes of water whose steam will be used to run turbines and generate great amounts of energy without pumping anything more than steam into the atmosphere. Though the plans for these plants are months away from being drafted, the PPNKE already establishes the first five mandated locations of the power plants, all of which are near but not within the cities of Minmito, Adawombe, and Jarha in Liore and Mesi and Bunigi in Kurageri. This phase is likely to last several years, ending at the earliest in the later years of the next Presidential administration.

Though not pumping large amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, nuclear power has one major environmental caveat: it produces quantities of nuclear waste dangerous to human, animal, and plant life. The third and final phase of the PPNKE is geared at addressing this issue. Phase Three, which is to begin after the production of the first significant amounts of nuclear waste, is the testing of various disposal methods that have been formulated by scientists, including propositions such as dumping in abandoned strip mines and several wild plans to market the waste.

Once the PPNKE is completed, then the Kitembo Union will be ready to commit completely to nuclear power, with current ambitious and optimistic plans suggesting a total conversion of the Liori and Kuragao energy sectors to nuclear energy and integrating the two into a wider Kitembo energy infrastructure network. More importantly, the project would reduce Kitembo carbon emissions and pollution greatly, easing the hearts of the largely environmentalist and nature-loving Kitembo people, and would allow for the expansion of modern living conditions and standards to more rural areas in the Union, this latter point however being a point of contention in the KU between those who wish to see the Kitembo people pursue progress and "join the future" while traditionalists fear the expansion of "western modernity" and ways of life. No matter these philosophical arguments on the side affects of energy expansion, nuclear power seems to be at the head of this administration's policy spear and will continue to be developed in the coming years.

KU Dispatches Forces to Bianjie November 4955
Image
Kitembo Troops Arriving in Bianjien Village

With the situation in northwest Dovani spiraling further out of control and the sucking in of multiple Dovani Pact member states into the conflict, the government of the Kitembo Union has watched on in horror as thousands have perished in Gao Soto's war of imperialism and many more fall under the tyrannical occupation of the Gao Sowan state. So far, Seko, Dankuk, North Dovani, Ostland, and Bianjie have fallen victim to some degree of Gao Sowan aggression, and many more nations in the region have reason to fear themselves being sucked into the conflict. Already, reports suggest that Bianjie, a DP member and key Kitembo partner, has suffered greatly since declaring war on Gao Soto, with logistical lines being stretched thin and manpower running low, putting Bianjie proper at risk while their main army fights on abroad.

With every intention to support the struggle against imperialism and Kitembo allies and to stay true to the word of honor written in international treaties, the Kitembo Union has committed itself to the those defending themselves against Gao Sowan aggression. Immediately following the outbreak of war, all diplomacy and trade between the KU and Gao Soto was cut off completely, and a Kitembo fleet was dispatched to the Sea of Carina to monitor the situation in Ostland and North Dovani. Further, the government of Liori instructed its subsidiary weapons manufacturers to offer discounted prices to the defenders against Gao Sowan aggression, hoping to serve Dovani's "anti-imperialist arsenal." Following this, the state-owned corporations of the wider KU offered similar discounts to the belligerents, and the Union government began funding a humanitarian relief program to provide aid to refugees that have fled the embattled nations and open the KU to it's own host of refugees.

Now, in the KU's most committed action yet, President Enzi Akpabio approved the deployment of three Kitembo divisions to Bianjie to serve as an advanced defensive force in the case of and attack. Totaling more than 50,000 soldiers fully equipped with modern small arms, MBTs, APCs, and attack helicopters, the Kitembo volunteers have the duty of defending the Bianjien homeland in the case of an attack, allowing the Bianjien people to sleep easily and it's government maintain it's hands-on support for the defenders in the northwest war. The Kitembo forces will work closely with Bianjien counterparts during their stay, with the passive duties of garrisoning several high tactical value locations and assisting with the construction of defensive structures and training of Bianjien conscripts.

Though many in the Kitembo Union argue for a total intervention in the conflict against the Gao Sowan aggressors, many more doves wish to steer clear of this conflict unless the need become paramount. These sentiments are reflected in the Akpabio Administration, which has been keen to support the defenders in this imperialist war but have still approached the situation with caution. President Akpabio himself has expressed his great disdain at the domestic and foreign policies of Gao Soto and has labeled their war as a "neo-imperialist quest for racial subjugation," however has cautioned against intervention. "Intervention is the tool of great powers to keep the small countries of the world down," stated Akpabio, sticking true to centuries of Liori political theory and tradition " and we must be wary of implementing these tools lest we become the tyrant we so hate." Akpabio later added "All that said, the Kitembo Union cannot always hide behind anti-imperialism when faced with conflict, doing will only allow imperialists to grow stronger. We will continue to monitor this situation, and will maintain a host of tools in our toolbox."

Liore Kitembo Party Calls for Electoral Reform September 5016
Image
The Yamabiro Governance District Serves as the Seat of Liore's People's Assembly, which has been the Center for Recent Reform Demands

At the heel end of this year's Mtukano election, the upper leadership of the Liori branch of the Kitembo Party has issued a statement calling for significant reforms to the election process of the People's Assembly, Liore's national legislature. In this statement, which has reportedly been drafted by party leader Mune Boro and signed by members of the party's national executive board, calls for Liore to abandon the historic practice of conducting first-past-the-post elections with single member districts, and instead embrace a mixed-member proportional system. The plan put forth by the Kitembo Party would effectively maintain the current Liori district system, allowing constituents to vote directly for candidates from their districts, while establishing a second ballot poll allowing Liori voters to choose a party rather than a candidate. The results of this second poll would establish the proportion of the People's Assembly that would be allocated to each party, with non-constituent representatives being appointed from a party list in the like scenario that district votes aren't representative of the national proportional vote.

The prime justification put forth by the Kitembo Party for this electoral reform, which would be the first time since the 49th century that Liori election laws underwent major changes, is that such a system would be much more representative of the will of the voters than the current system, which effectively marginalizes opposition voters in their districts, while maintaining the ability for voters to directly elect individual representatives. However, several political scientists and notable pollsters have suggested that there may be ulterior motives for this policy. The Kitembo Party maintains a broad base of support across Liore, being a significant force in almost every district, but is only the top party in a smaller proportion of districts. These analysts suggest that the calls for MMP elections are attempts by the Kitembo Party to claw their way out of their usual second or third electoral placement and back into government, ascribing to them sole wish of dislodging the long-reigning Ujamaa Mpana/Harambee coalition.

No matter what the true aims of the Kitembo Party may be, their reform proposals are not without support. An aggregate of several trustworthy polls indicates that as many as 43% of voters have a broadly accepting opinion of the proposal, with only 39% expressing opposition. Among the other parties, opinion is mixed. The largely regional Harambee Party has opposed the policy, likely recognizing that it would eat away at their margins in the few districts they can reliably win, while their governing partners in Ujamaa Mpana (Broad Socialists) have not yet taken an official stance, though some members recognize that they have room to gain in the socialist voters of districts won by regional parties. Several smaller parties have also expressed support for the reform, seeing it as a possibility for them to finally defeat FPTP and gain a voice in government. As of yet, there are no plans or proposed legislation on the reform being discussed by the government

Multipartisan People's Assembly Caucus Drafts Plan to Cut Liori Carbon Emissions November 5016

In recent decades, Liore has made strides in moving away from reliance on fossil fuels and "dirty" energy, instead opting for the nuclearization of energy infrastructure in Liore and the wider Kitembo Union. However, oil and natural gas remain the most significant source of energy in Liore and the KU, supplying for the electric and fuel needs for the consumers and commuters of Liore, at the expense of Liore's natural environment and the global climate. However, Liore's previous movements towards clean and green energy were not token efforts made by uninterested lawmakers, but the first steps toward a carbon neutral Liore. A People's Assembly caucus comprised of members from each party represented in the legislature (though spearheaded by the eco-radical Harambee Party) has drafted a comprehensive plan to put the Liori energy sector on an unshakeable green path, and has begun the process to propose a bill to implement the plan. Labeled as the Save Liore Plan, this plan would put Liore on a two-decade path to cut remaining fossil fuel use by more than half by constructing more nuclear and hydroelectric power plants across the country and equipping urban and residential areas with solar farms. The plan would also allocate funds to outfit Liore's railway system exclusively with electric trains and allocate funds to the research and development of "greener sea and air travel." The plan, however, has little substance to address the carbon emitted by common commuters, with key drafters of the plan stating that automotive transport was beyond the scope of the plan.

The Save Liore Plan has large support both in the People's Assembly and among the public at large, and is expected to pass convincingly through the legislature. Both the President and Premier have expressed their support for the SLP, with Premier Hami Okar, a member of Harambee and previously of the caucus which drafted the plan, stating "this will be the biggest step in Liore history towards true ecological progress and joining great nations as Lourenne in a non-exploitative and imperialistic view of the environment." Leaders of the caucus have stated that they hope to have a bill officially proposed to the People's Assembly by the end of the year and voted into law next year.

Nzurchanga Ranked Most Popular Tourist Destination in Dovani for 5016 February 5017

Nzurizuri's "Blue Water Village", the Hospitality Sector of Nzurchanga Consistently Ranks Among the Top in Terra

Nzurchanga has long been considered by many to be the most beautiful gem in the Liore crown and a window into western culture, earning the centuries old name "Liore's Western City." It's a city within the liberal bubble of the Nzurchanga Special Economic Zone, vibrant with private enterprise and culture (Kitembo and foreign). And it is the center of Liore's tourism industry. Every year Nzurchanga never fails to bring in hundreds of thousands and even millions of tourists a year, many coming to visit the city's idyllic white beaches dotted with beach bungalows and seaside resorts or to partake in its iconic night life characterized music and bar clubs which have produced some of the greatest musical artists in the Liori scene. Even more see Nzurchanga as merely the first step in their vacation, arriving at the Nzurchanga International Airport and then going on safari across the savannas, jungles, and highlands of the Kitembo Union. This success of the Nzurchanga's tourism has not gone unnoticed in the past, being lauded by foreign and domestic publications, and this year being ranked by Terra Safari, a Kitemjiji-based magazine focused on global tourism destinations and the economic aspect of the industry, as being the most popular tourist city in Dovani last year. "Economically, Nzurchanga is unparalleled in the KU and a leader on the continent," writes Akira Natsuko, a columnist at Terra Safari "and it's boatload of fun too. The economist may fawn at the record number of tourists and reported profit brought in by Nzurchanga's tourist sector last year, but no doubt anyone would fall head-over-heels in love with the city."

According to the article, Nzurizuri, a private hotel and resort corporation, claimed victory as the most successful tourist company in Nzurchanga last year, topping the charts in profit, asset expansion, and ratings last year. Out of their many resorts, the famed Blue Water Village has been highlighted as one of their best locations, offering well-off guests rooms in well-furnished coastal bungalows and giving them small boats to go a short distance into the Caltropic Sea. The Blue Water Village is also renown for its menu, serving acclaimed dishes derived from the cultures of local tribes, their staple dish being mutura na pilau, an indigenous Kitembo sausage and spiced rice dish.

Liore Gov. Signs Green Deals with Kanjorien, Lourennais Corps February 5019
Image
Home in the Suburbs of Nzurchanga Outfitted with Vertonel Solar Panels Displays Liori Greens' Plans for Future Home Energy

In a continuation of recent clean and green energy projects embarked upon by the Liori government, the Trade and Industry Ministries have awarded several groundbreaking contracts with companies from the Canrillaise nations of Kanjor and Lourenne. The first of these commercial contracts was awarded to the Kanjorien company of Auto Seleya following discussions between the Liori and Kanjorien governments and the executive board of Auto Seleya. This deal will see Auto Seleya, a world-renown auto manufacturer with several lines of electric automobiles, open distribution centers for their electric cars and trucks in the Nzurchanga and Bakundu-Naranpa SEZs, and will be given exclusive rights to open a center in Yamabiro, the national capital that itself does not fall into any of Liore's special economic zones. Market analysts see this deal as a major victory for both parties, with there being a great demand for electric automobiles among Liore's environmentalist middle and upper classes (especially those in the liberal and progressive Nzurchanga) but there being no major presence of electric automobile sellers in the Liori market. Effectively, this deal will close that gap between supply and demand in Liore and lower emissions among the nation's climate-minded populace, while allowing Auto Seleya to corner the desolate. More pessimistic economists, however, find issue with a single company gaining such influence over the market, some arguing that it would open up possibility for price gouging by Auto Seleya.

Too receiving major green energy contracts from the Liori government are the Lourennais corporations Vertonel, Alliance Vert, and TLG Écologie, each of which have agreed to supply Liori solar energy programs. Chief among these contracts was that which was awarded to Vertonel, which has been tasked with supplying solar panels for a large urban and suburban residency project in Nzurchanga. This great undertaking, a plan formulated by the writers of the Save Liore Plan, will see 75% of state-owned apartment buildings and tenements and 25% of suburban family residences equipped with Vertonel solar panels to supplement energy produced by dirtier sources. While those policymakers responsible for the drafting and passage of this plan do hope to see it have a major affect on Liori carbon emissions, this initial plan is seen by many primarily as a trial run for possible future solar residence projects on a much larger scale. Opponents of this plan argue that it the solar panels will be able to supplement only a fraction of the energy produced by fossil fuels and natural gasses, and will only be able to produce energy for a fraction of the day. Some have even argued that the solar panels would be an eye sore for residents, though these matters of subjective taste have been discounted by most policymakers and analysts.

While not on the same scale as the contract awarded to Vertonel, the contracts awarded to Alliance Vert and TLG Ecologie are no less important. The two companies have been contracted to construct a total of six solar farms across Liore, two large farms in Yamabiro and Bakundu-Naranpa and a total of four medium-sized farms near the rural cities of Jejwi, Adawombe, Vitafu, and Jarha. Planners within the Energy and Infrastructure Ministries believe that the energy infrastructure of rural Liore will be much easier to "greenify" than the coastal urban centers, as their energy needs are much more restricted and already largely green in comparison to the coastal cities.

FM Okar Comments on Vorona Crisis September 5029
Image
Foreign Minister Kanika Okar has Given an Official Statement on the Vorona Crisis at Press Conference Today

The Kitembo Union, born in an internationalist and participatory tradition but in recent decades fallen into a big of complacency, has broken its silence on the escalating conflict in Vorona. Beginning over two years ago with a military coup against the democratically-elected leftist government, which has been rumored to have been sponsored by Deltaria, the situation in Vorona collapsed further in February when leftist revolutionaries and military deserters attacked cities and military outposts occupied by the military regime, plunging the small island nation into civil war. Over the past two months, the fighting in Vorona has escalated further, resulting in the deaths of over 2000 Voronans. Most troubling is the evidence of foreign involvement in the Voronan conflict, with Deltaria, already accused of supporting the coup in 5027, openly sending military advisors and military aircraft to support the regime of General Lucas Kombara. The Kitembo Union and its constituent nations of Liore and Kurageri have historically been chief opponents of foreign interventionism and imperialism, and remains a driving force in the Dovani Pact, an organization dedicated to fighting imperialism and protecting the sovereignty of (particularly Dovanian) nations. Seeing this, it has been strange that the reigning Kitembo/Ujamaa Mpana government has been so late to comment on the situation when other nations, such as Trigunia and Dorvik, have already voiced concern over the crisis.

Foreign Minister Kanika Okar, looking to rally the country around the ruling government in the upcoming Presidential election no doubt, broke the KU's silence with the following statement
The government has been closely monitoring the situation in Vorona since the the 5027 coup with growing discomfort. It is a tragedy that the Voronan political situation has deteriorated to civil war and the democracy has been trampled over since the coming to power of the Kombara government, and it is a greater tragedy that foreign states, looking to flex their muscle and create empires out of friendly tyrannies have physically involved themselves in the conflict. We are calling on the Kombara government and the Voronan revolutionaries to immediately end this conflict and agree to mediated negotiations. We are calling on all foreign governments involved in the Voronan government to immediate cease their imperialistic sabre rattling and end their actions which exacerbate the violence and killing in Vorona. Finally, we are calling on the World Congress and the international community to do what it is possible to mediate the conflict and give aid to those affected by the fighting.

The Kitembo government is reviewing all possible tangible responses to this crisis, including economic and political sanctions against actors responsible for furthering the killing in Vorona.

President Achebe Heads Delegation in Eroncourt November 5029

President Hassian Achebe has returned from an eventful state visit to Lourenne over the weekend, where he and Ministers Okar (Foreign) and Ngige (Defense) met with the Lourennais High Chancellor Laura Marne and their counterparts in the Lourennais government. Arriving in Eroncourt, the Kitembo delegation was greeted by the High Chancellor and given a brief tour of the historic sites of the Lourennais capital, before attending a state dinner with Lourennais officials and retiring to their hotel accommodations. The second day, sources say, served as the true meat of the visit, with the Kitembo delegation and Lourennais officials holding hours of discussions on various topics in international affairs and Kitembo-Lourennais relations. Reportedly, President Achebe and HC Marne discussed at length the crisis currently occurring in Vorona and sharing the opinions of their respective governments on the situation and how to respond. Following the talks, President Achebe reportedly spent several hours in calls with officials at home in Kitemjiji before ending his day.

On the final day of the visit, the President and High Chancellor participated in a signing ceremony for several agreements that had been worked out by lower officials in the weeks leading up to the visit. Most of the agreements were minor economic and trade agreements, with the Kitembo Union and Lourenne opening their economies more to commerce between the two Dovanian nations. More importantly was the signing of a mutual defense agreement between the two countries. Effectively, the agreement makes the Kitembo Union and Lourenne defensive allies, with both nations pledging to assist one another militarily in the event of an attack on one of them. This marks a significant shift in Kitembo foreign policy, which in past concerned itself solely in the defense of Dovani Pact and Kitembo states, while Lourenne is neither and has a history that has been decried as imperialist by historians (though in recent decades it is important to note that the Lourennais government has taken an overtly anti-imperialist international stance). Some more poetic analysts have seen this deals as the two ends of Dovani coming together, the post-colonial east led by the Kitembo Union and the more western and modernized Ananto Coast led by Lourenne.
