Jugang Mayor Lai Haomin elected Lotus Party Leader
34-year-old is the youngest leader in Lotus Party history

JUGANG, Jiaozhi Province: Jugang Mayor Lai Haomin rode a surge of liberal support from young people and middle-class folks to a stunning leadership election victory this morning, and the historic opportunity to be the youngest Chief Minister in Indrala's history. This is the same electoral coalition which got the 34-year-old Mayor elected six years ago.

With 100 percent of the votes counted, Lai had a 3 percentage point lead over his closest rival, Mudanwan district school superintendent Chan Shengyao. Lai edged out seven challengers overall, securing a majority vote on the first ballot. Lai garnered the support of the party's base after running a strong social media campaign and engaging with young people, despite Chan having the endorsement of the majority of the Party's establishment.

“There are no words,” Lai told a cheering crowd of supporters as he took the stage of the Lotus Party convention. “I will be a Lotus Party leader who embraces the challenges and dreams of our people as my own; as your next Chief Minister, I pledge to ensure that we continue to create a future which leaves no one behind.”

With more new parties registering in advance of the 4485 General Election than ever in recent history, Lai took a different path from his partisan predecessor.

"All parties are rivals but are also partners moving together for the future,” said Lai. "Let us embrace the symbol of this party, the Lotus, and usher in the renewal of politics in Tian'an."

Chief Minister Wei Jianxing formally transferred the leadership of the Lotus Party to Lai shortly after his speech, and preceded to declare his total support of the new Leader.

"I have complete faith in this man," said the Chief Minister the the applause of the crowd. "I have no doubt that he will win for you in this upcoming election, and then he will keep winning for this country."

As mayor of Jugang, Lai has been known as a personable and dedicated public servant who has revitalized the city's public school system while lowering residential property taxes. As such, the mayor had exceedingly high approval ratings throughout his term, despite low-expectations from those who deemed him too young to lead one of the country's largest metropolises. If elected Chief Minister, Lai will have to resign from the mayorship before the completion of his second term.

Citizen's Alliance rejoins Indralan politics, Liu Wuying elected chairman
The Citizen's Alliance will advocate for a centralized, ecological state where the government protects the people and environment equally as they have pledged before
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

When the CA first appeared on the political stage it appeared only briefly. Winning less then 32.000 votes and dissapearing right after the CA didnt catch appeal to a large portion of the Indralan population. But now, as the political situation in the nation becomes rather one sided a long time haukist activist, Liu Wuying, managed to revive the former party to deliver a "strong, green and active state"

Wuying has been a green activist for his entire life, working for several green organizations before finding out about Haukism. Wuying saw no appeal in any of the current political parties in Indrala and decided to create a party of his own before stumbling upon the CA in older archives.

Now with the CA reformed and elections closing in it is reported that Wuying will make a quick tour throughout the country in an effort to win seats in the Grand Assembly.

Following the upset election yesterday, the insurgent Democratic Alliance toppled the Lotus Party's majority government, gaining 183 seats in the 668-seat Parliament. Two other parliamentary parties, the Pragmatic Party and the Social Democratic Party also lost seats, with the SDP losing the greatest 70 seats. However, this upset victory did not give any ground to the newly-established parties of Citizen's Alliance, Labour Party and National Front, who have not set out its national agenda and remained mainly unknown to the general public before the election.

Meanwhile, National Front leader Chen Yunfeng published a new internet video titled 'Making Us Heard', seemingly making his plans to propose policy reforms to gain media attention, as well as garner followers and supporters for his new party. Despite such electoral defeat, most supporters of the Front remains optimistic about the party's prospects, saying that 'if we get our message out to the people, Indrala will definitely respond.'

Citizen's Alliance fails to capture any seats
The Citizen's Alliance failed to win any seats but its leader, Liu Wuying, vouches to keep fighting until his party establishes itself
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

After a tense election night in which it seemed like the CA may capture at least 1 seat the night ended in dissapointment. With 52.000 votes in total the party did receive more votes then its first election all those years ago, however, it still failed to reach the amount of votes needed to obtain a seat.

According to party leader Liu Wuying this would not be the end however, he acknowledged his defeat but also was quick to state that the CA will not stand still.

We will organize protests when we believe the government is in the wrong, we will outline our views and policies so that the people will know, in the next election, how they can vote on our great party!

Many of the CA supporters have already been trying to setup local departments for the party where people can come to get basic neccesities like food and water and also get help in being more environment friendly.

Jasmine Society Launches in Anle
____________________________________________________________________________________________

Jasmine Society leadership meeting with local farmers.

HAIWAN, Anle Province: A diverse crowd of farmers, monks, and common townspeople gathered today in Haiwan to mark the official founding of the Jasmine Society. The idea for this organization emerged from a meeting of the The Kār Community, a Daenist fellowship active in southern Indrala. In their pursuit to make a larger impact on society there came talk of forming an organization that could take carry their voices to Tian’an. This thought grew and the foundations of the Jasmine Society began to form.

Today, one year later, that organization has become a reality and The Kār Community has given its endorsement to the Jasmine Society, viewing it as an important vehicle for advancing the lives of even more people, beyond just southern Indrala. Taking leadership of the Jasmine Society is Dr. Shih Enyu, son of fisherman’s family and professor emeritus of philosophy at the Haiwan College. Serving as the party’s president, commanding its internal affairs, is Nai Yaowen, former mayor of Xujing in the Shu Province.

In some effect a political arm of The Kār Community, the Jasmine Society has published a mission statement focused on humanism, pacifism, and transparency. The party also prioritizes cultural conservation and environmentalism. It is unclear where the organization lies ideologically and this will likely remain the case until they begin to produce legislative proposals and endorsements.

Zhijia Breaks from FCR Group
____________________________________________________________________________________________

Image
A Zhijia assembly floor.

KAIZHOU, Jiaozhi Province: The ever growing Zhijia has announced that they will be breaking off from the FangCaiRyeo Group, positioning themselves as an independent public corporation. However, the company will still enjoy a close relationship with FCR, providing essential technological resources to other FCR subsidiaries, some of which still carry the Zhijia name.

Zhijia has been one of the successful and high-profile of FCR Group’s subsidiaries. The company operates across numerous technologically-oriented industries. Their long resume boasts a $1 billion Nighthawk contract with the Imperial Armed Forces, a Hartvig Prize in Agriculture for vertical farming development, and a namesake “smart city” built around sustainability and autonomous technology.

Forging its own path forward, Zhijia hopes to open up even greater opportunities for technological advancement and innovation, including possible coordination with other Indralan caizu. The company has also been quick to start expanding its independent portfolio, having just acquired the Dranian Chemical Company (renamed Dovani Chemical Company) and Peninsular Geo-Hydro Company late last year. There are unconfirmed rumors that Zhijia has interest in obtaining control over some FCR subsidiaries although it has been made clear that FCR shareholders are adamantly opposed, already angry over FCR’s loss in value. Nonetheless, long-term outlooks remain positive for FCR Group as well.

Returning to their roots, SDP members radically change party
The SDP has decided to rebrand itself at its Kaizhou Party Conference

Hua outlines her plans for the Bamboo-Left Coalition

KAIZHOU, Jiaozhi Province: The Party Conference of the SDP, usually a fanfare of excitement and festivities, actually spelled the end of the party's 155-year tenure as the Social Democratic Party. It has rebranded itself as the Bamboo-Left Coalition.

These drastic changes come after over two decades of declining support of the electorate for the social democrats, a fact that has slowly been wearing down party officials. Change has been long in its arrival, as the last major change to the SDP was at the end of Fa Rong's leadership in 4366.

Although a vote was put up for debate, it became quickly clear that SDP voters supported the change immensely. In fact, the total placed the number of ayes at an astounding 72.4%, abstentions at 3.6%, and nays at 24%.

"I think these changes will be good for the party," said Li Xin, an SDP voter, "I mean, look how much its already riled up members of the base. We're pumped to finally see change being brought to the SDP."

Many of those we interviewed had similar comments, as a wave of optimism has swept the "new" party. On the opposite end of the spectrum, most naysayers agreed that they were worried about the departure from SDP tradition, as well as possible losses in name recognition when it comes to the general election. This fact could become something that hits back at the newly formed coalition, as the SDP has been a giant in Indralan politics for so long, and there is a possibility voters won't vote for the new name simply because they've never heard of it; however, there is good news in the fact that a number of the parties flooding Indrala have gained seats with little name recognition.

Another surprising part of the conference was the Party Leadership elections, which saw the victory of Hua Feihong. Ms. Hua was seen as a clear choice by reformers to be the candidate who would actually create the most change in within the Bamboo-Left Coalition.

Hua beat her closest rival by a 23% margin with 58.7% of the vote. The runnerup, Guo Lei, a former leader of the National League of Women, gained 35.7%. And in last place was Kang Shi, a professor at Kaizhou National University, with only 5.6% of the vote share.

Part of the reason for Hua's victory was, in fact, the surprise endorsement from Wei Zhenya. Many had expected the former Party Leader to support Guo Lei, who was seen as a natural successor, but instead, Ms. Wei put her weight behind Hua, telling the crowd that true reform was needed if the party wanted to go anywhere.

"Thank you so so much for giving me this amazing opportunity," said Hua on stage, "never before had I even wanted to be in this position. But, you know what? I looked in the mirror one day, and I thought to myself: I can create change! I can do it! Well, you know what!? We're all gonna do it! Together, we're going to retake Tian'an and make this country better than ever before!"

Hua Feihong formerly served in the national legislature as a fierce progressive lawmaker who critiqued any legislation she deemed bad for the public. After such time, she eventually became the mayor of Kaizhou for two terms, before deciding to run for Party Leader. Under her mayorship, Kaizhou implemented a series of protections for LGBT citizens, racial minorities, and women, as well as implementing a popular rent relief program for many of the city's residents who struggle to pay for housing in one of Indrala's most expensive cities. Her victory makes Kaizhou the second large city in Jiaozhi that will lose its mayor this cycle.

FCR Group Defunct, Kyuma Industries Takes Control
____________________________________________________________________________________________

Image

KAIZHOU, Jiaozhi Province: Since the departure of Zhijia from the FCR portfolio the caizu has struggled to rebound in the market, despite expectations of normalization. While the caizu has remained profitable there has been growing dissatisfaction with the conglomerates executive leadership since the loss of Zhijia. In an effort to restore faith in the leadership, the three leading FCR clans met earlier this week to discuss corporate restructuring. However, in a shocking turn of events the Xia Clan, aligning with public shareholders, turned against the opinion of the Fang and Cai Families, which sought to keep in place many of the same practices of the past.

Commanding a narrow majority of shares for the FCR Group, the Xia Clan moved forward with a comprehensive restructuring and rebranding plan that tightens the overall subsidiary hierarchy within the caizu. Most notably, the relationship with Kyuma Industries becomes much more of a true merger as Kyuma and FCR are now one, rather than Kyuma operating as a middle-man conglomerate between FCR and specific Kyuma subsidiaries. And most dramatically, Kyuma Industries is taking the brand spotlight, effectively ending FangCaiRyeo Group as its name is now largely non-existent within the entire corporate structure.

This major shift is already causing waves in the stock market and shares of affected companies have been highly volatile. Ownership shares of FCR subsidiaries have dropped for Kyuma Industries but it has retained clear control over most of the company. However there have been some minor breakaways as Jiyu properties, such as the House of Jiyu and Zhijia Grand Park have split off, with the former going private and the latter public, courting for Zhijia investment. This has not so far been an interest of Zhijia, which has taken much greater interest in potential acquisition of Zhijia Telecom and the City Bank.

Tutoring Giant Victor Education Goes Public

Victor Education's Advertisements in Kaizhou

Today, Victor Education founder Victor Liu announced that his multi-million education empire will go public and trade on the Kaizhou Stock Exchange. Victor Education group is the largest private tuition provider across metro areas in Indrala, boasting over a million students since its founding in 4470. Through extensive publicity campaigns, Victor Education's most prestigious tutors are often called 'Tuition Stars', charging thousands of dollars for a 'live' lesson with the tutor, and hundreds just to see a recording of it.

Admission day for each semester in Victor Education's many tutoring schools have also become city-wide events, with eager students queueing up days on end just to get enrolled into the elite class with the privilege of having their work marked personally by the 'Tuition Star'. While many in education has criticized this practice and called it 'education opportunism', Victor Education has no sign of stopping as a place in KITE Universities remains highly and competitively sought after by students across the nation.

Victor Education's Newest Private Academy in Kaizhou
-
The recent decision to go public is said to be to do with a planned invasion of Victor Education into the private schools market. Boasting a wholly exam-oriented boarding education, 'Victor Academies' have become the latest hot topic in the education world. These luxurious schools house thousands of students with classrooms filled to the brim, as students toil all day to prepare for their public exams. The 'Information Session' for prospective students held last October has already attracted over nine thousand parents and students to attend, with some parents having to sit on the school lawn to watch a live broadcast of the session.

With the funds in place, Victor Academies are planned to be expanded to all five provinces in Indrala, with schools all across provincial capitals. In Kaizhou, stage two of the Academy's construction has also started. With three thousand more rooms, the 'new wing' of the Academy will also boast university-level science laboratories, a five-thousand-seat Auditorium and Kaizhou's largest library.

Green activists protest unauthorized in front of Imperial Palace in Tian'an
The Citizen's Alliance called upon its members to protests the "continued disintergration of the countries nature"
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

With the CA growing in strength they are flexing their muscles far more often then before. After the parties leadership called its supporters to start an unauthorized protest in front of the Imperial Palace. This resulted in around 500 protesters gathering in front of the palace with slogans like "green is peace" and "save out earth"

Many are also angered towards the monarchy seeing him as a symbol of pollution in recent decades and asking his benevolent self to put a genuine effort in decreasing Indralas ecological footprint. The protesters have announced that they will stay in front of the palace during an undisclosed period of time. Authorities have not yet responded to the protesters.
