No End In Sight
Is the current political system inadequate? Ultra-Nationalists online chatter indicates plans for a violent solution.

Different sections of Yingdalan society continues to pit themselves against one another. Each side of the political spectrum seems intent to agitate against their opponents. Misinformation being spread through online means have resulted in a further deepening of the polarization that has griped the nation for the past few years. Political parties continue to be at each other throats, with the Red Dragon society continuing to prevent crucial foreign treaties from being passed.

The rumour mill of several ultra-nationalists chatrooms on the internet has recently started spreading rumors that the Red Dragon society were intent on collapsing the existing pollical system by hindering the passage of legislation. The Northern Voice is unable to verify whether these rumours have merit at the present moment. Members from the 爱国者乐队(Àiguó zhě yuèduì) (Luthorian Translation: Patriots Band), a growing right wing ultra-nationalist organisation have openly called for its members to arm themselves and arrest leading members of the Red Dragon Society.

Tianxia Treaty Fails in National Congress; Prime Minister Takes Executive Approach
Treaty between Sekoku and Yingdala fails National Congress by small margin, PM circumvents National Congress

In a surprising turn of events, the Red Dragon Group changed their vote on the Tianxia Treaty at the last minute to kill the deal. News reached Prime Minister Okadigbo as she entered the Heavenly Palace for her weekly meeting with the Son of Heaven and Crown Prince Yu Bai Li. Sources close to the matter said that upon returning to the National Congress, Prime Minister Yu stormed the Opposition Leader's office and shouting could be heard from down the hall. While it is unclear what was said, Prime Minister Okadigbo was indeed "very heated" as a bystander put it.

The treaty was immediately brought up for a vote again and is expected to fail as the Red Dragon Group remained unwilling to vote for the treaty. Sekoku's King and High Priestess did, however, visit the Son of Heaven and pledge loyalty to Yingdala, becoming a vassal state. The Prime Minister's spokesperson issued a statement in November about the visit and the Prime Minister's next steps. Here's that statement:

Prime Minister Okadigbo attended the kowtow ceremony held at the Heavenly Palace where King Teera Sukesada and High Priestess Ogusuku Manami of Seko voluntarily submitted vassalage to His Imperial and Royal Majesty, the Son of Heaven. The voluntary submission comes after the Red Dragon Group voted, last minute, against the Tianxia Treaty that would have solidified the Seko's vassalage from both parties. While the Prime Minister is upset at this action, she is taking steps, however, to see that parts of the treaty becomes reality and recognizing Seko's vassal status just as the Son of Heaven did. The Prime Minister spoke with Seko's National and Royal Advisor, Kanagusuku Sokon, and is continuing the construction of three military bases in Sekoku. Those locations will be made available to the public upon completion. The Prime Minister is also taking executive action in order to prevent an unruly party from usurping Yingdalan foreign policy. While executive action will be taken, the Okadigbo Government will seek to pass resolutions through the National Congress that only requires a simple majority vote. These resolutions will be proposed in the coming months. Thank you.

Planned construction for three military bases is indeed continuing as originally planned and Yingdala will protect Seko's national security.

The Hulstrian sponsored "Agreement of Cooperation Against Yingdala" is set to be signed by Hulstria, Aloria, and N&D in the coming months. The treaty sets out a list of cooperating agreements that is equal to placing sanctions of Yingdala and establishing a collective mutual defensive pact between the ratifiers of this treaty. Today, Defense Minister Tu Yin Ming told reporters on his way into the Imperial Military Commission headquarters that the treaty is "indeed an act of war" and that the IMC would be "monitoring" the situation closely.

Noble Clan Leaders Met with Crown Prince Ahead of Government Reform Vote
Nobility set to rise once more in Yingdala as their powers are about to be restored in Government Reform bill that is likely to pass in May

Years in political isolation with little to no power, the noble clans have shied away from the spotlight until today. With the Government Reform Act set to pass next month, noble clans are receiving an abundant amount of political power as well as the imperial family. The clans gathered at the Heavenly Palace in a closed-door meeting with Crown Prince Yu Bai Li. The contents of that meeting is still unknown to us. The Quibashi We Clan, Kaizhou Cheng Clan, Haiwan Liang Clan, Guozhou Tan Clan, Mudanwan He Clan, Jugang Lü Clan, and the Shencheng Tao Clan were all in attendance at this meeting along with petty noble clans.

Wu Xinyi, Duke of Shu, summoned the Yu Imperial Union National Congress Delegation to the Wu Shu Palace in Hazhou, Shu for a meeting to discuss their future cooperation. The first part of the meeting was private and closed off to the public. Reporters were invited in at the conclusion of the meeting. In the room sat Duke Wu Zhou Da, Prime Minister Adiah Okadigbo and other leaders of the YIU. Duke Wu Zhou Da gave the following proclamation:

I, Wu Xinyi, Duke of Shu, hereby proclaims that the Quibashi Wu Clan will back the Yu Imperial Union in its political endeavors, and, as agreed, will submit a list of candidates for the position of Prime Minister and other cabinet positions. The Yu Imperial Union shall and forever be under the oversight and guidance of the Wu Clan.

Shu province has been the former National Liberty Party's stronghold in a number of elections since the founding of the party in 4848. The NLP has, in the past, approved significant economic development projects in Shu that had a tremendous positive economic impact on the province's economy. The party's leadership will be restructured in the coming months as the long-time Deputy Party Chair is set to resign after serving in the position for over 70 years. This marks the end of one political generation and enters a new age for the Yu Imperial Union. As for the position of Prime Minister, word on the street is that Duke Wu will appoint his son, Wu Guiying, Marquise of Hazhou and Xiangao territorial region, releasing Prime Minister Adiah Okadigbo from her position. While PM Okadigbo will be replaced as PM, she has stated that she is ready to begin her long-awaited vacation across Terra.

Heavenly Palace in Tian'an, Han

Tian'an, Han ─ Prime Minister Wu Guiying is live from the Prime Ministerial Palace:
Good afternoon and welcome. Today I ordered the Prime Minister's residence to be moved back to the Heavenly Palace where it once was a century ago. In addition, all cabinet general offices will be permanently relocated back to the Heavenly Palace as well. This is a symbolic move as we work to restore the foundation of Yingdala and the fabric of society. Government should revolve around His Imperial and Royal Majesty for he is the center of our nation, our heavenly representative. The Son of Heaven is our home and our government must be where he resides. The moving process should take a few months. We are looking to expand the Heavenly Palace as we work to centralize all government activity and buildings there. We are working fast and moving diligently as to please the heavens.

Prime Minister Wu answered a few questions before departing. He, however, refused to comment on the Alorian bill that bans Yingdala and anything and anyone Yingdalan from the nation. We speculate that sanctions are likely to follow.

"The Indralan's People's Front establish themselves in Jiaozhi
The group sends a clear message to the nobility

As a journalist source, we have to be careful not to bias the news to our readers, as a result, we have chosen to simply report the message from the Indralan's People's Front as it was received.

Let this message be clear to the rich and undeserving of Indrala. We require the support of no clan nor indeed of an Emperor. For we fight for a republic of democratic values. We fight for the farmers, we fight for the tradesmen, we fight for the single mothers and we fight for the poor. We are the voice of a generation in Yingdala who are tired of being used by the wealthy. We will establish a workers' paradise and we will not allow the rich to squander the rights of the less fortunate. We forsake the imperial family and all their ills. We are no friend of capitalism. We are well armed and well trained, if necessary, we will make our message heard through violent means.

Meanwhile, Interim Chairwoman Fan Fen has suggested that her party has "sympathies" with the movement.

Protests Subsides As Government Restructures
Protests die down as two major clans has backed two political parties and the seat of government is moving to the Heavenly Palace

Image
Protestor holding a sign, picture taken two months ago

Over a year of protests has taken over Yingdala as citizens rise to fight a disunified government. Millions of citizens protested across Yingdala, some turned to rioters; that is, until noble clans entered the political arena. After the passage of the Government Reform Act of 4919, nobles received major rights, political rights being among the gained rights. Two months after its passage, two major clans backed two major political parties, beginning a cycle of nobles entering politics. This was enough for millions of Yingdalans to lay down arms and return to their daily lives.

Then the unthinkable happened. The Yu Imperial Union's National Congress Delegation voted for Marquis Wu Guiying to lead the party's delegation to the National Congress, ultimately electing him to the position of Prime Minister for the next four years. Upon entering office, Prime Minister Wu rescinded all of his predecessor's executive orders, including the closure of the stock market, the national curfew, and the suspension of non-essential employment. Following this course of action, protestors began to return to their daily lives, working and providing for their families. One protestor said that nobility came at the right moment, suggesting that protests were about to make a turn for the worst. Many thanks for relieving the country of protesting goes not only to Prime Minister Wu, but the nobles who once ruled this nation. A turn to tradition has made a difference.

Nobility to Join Imperial Cabinet
Nobles enter the Imperial Cabinet for the first time since Emperor Yu Wu

There's been a steady incline of nobles entering government affairs across Yingdala in provinces, counties, cities, and municipalities. The incline in national government affairs has been nothing but speedy as Prime Minister Wu Guiying, first son of Duke Wu Xinyi of Shu province, has moved swiftly to return the nation to its glory days. In recent events, he has nominated two men from the Dongjing Yi Clan, a petty clan, and five men from the Wu clan, a major clan in Shu and current Prime Minister's clan. The cabinet is expected to pass.

National Identity: Changing of the Guard
1st Generation political leaders from the National Identity party announce their imminent retirement

Several prominent political leaders from the National Identity (NI) party have released a joint statement announcing their imminent retirement from the political scene in Yingdala. Party Founders Huan Lu Shan, Enthony Fang Jun Xiang, Kuai Xu, Lu Xin Kai, Liu Der Mong and Hwen Ngon Diem have announced that they will relinquish all positions of leadership and influence within the party by the end of the year. Additionally, they will not run for re-election in the next general election.

"Our goal to reverse decades of cultural, societal and economic decline is on course to be achieved. The next generation of National Identify cadres will continue to ensure that this goal is fulfilled." [excerpt from the joint statement]

These NI leaders have collectively served in various positions of government throughout the past decade. Here is a brief breakdown of each person's history:

Huan Lu Shan (Prime Minister of Yingdala: 4908 - 4918)
Enthony Fang Jun Xiang (Minister of Internal Affairs: 4908 -4918, Minister of Health and Social Services: 4919 - 4920)
Kuai Xu (Minister of Finance, 4908 - 4911, National Congress Delegation Party Whip: 4911- 4914, Secretary-General of the General Office, 4913 - 4918, Minister for Education and Culture: 4919 - 4920)
Lu Xin Kai (National Congress Delegation Party Whip: 4908 - 4911, Secretary-General of the General Office: 4908 - 4911, Minister of Justice: 4911 - 4918)
Liu Der Mong (Minister of Food & Agriculture: 4908 - 4918)
Hwen Ngon Diem (Minister of Health and Social Services: 4911 - 4918)

However, it has been understood that a few NI 1st Generation leaders will stay on and advise the new generation of leaders for the foreseeable future. These leaders are Xi Yu Luan and Miani Do-ton. Sources within the party have indicated that two members of the noble He Clan (He Lui and He Wang Xiu) are being groomed to assume senior positions in the party in the near future.
