Multi-decade projects finally see light of day as Prime Minister seeks to make Son of Heaven's dreams become a reality

A project on the books since the 4700s has finally made its way to the Prime Minister’s desk. Project 420 and Project 911 are two space related projects that were in the planning phase back in the 4850s when then-Prime Minister Fu Yu Jun stated his interest in militarizing space. The projects ultimately were denied in the 4880’s under pacifist laws, however, the project did not die and stayed in the research and development phase until now. P420 and P911 both made it to the desk of Prime Minister Wu Guiying after receiving clearance from Minister of Science and Technology, Yulu Cuyan, Minister of Defense, Wu Zhihao, and Yingdalan Space Agency Commissioner, Yi Xian. Here’s an overview of those two projects:

Project 420 (or P420) is a space military program with the sole purpose of placing offensive military weapons in space. While Yingdala has an unfavorable view when it comes to militarizing space, the nation has worked to enhance its space capabilities in areas of intelligence, cybersecurity, mass communication, and surveillance. Even though the space program has been dormant for some time, the agency has always remained active in retrospect to the increasing government policies on surveillance. Back when Yingdalan officials first began to pay attention to the space program again, the YSA and Da Tian Inc., (Luthorian: Great Space, Inc.) formed a partnership to launch communications satellites. Ever since then, Yingdala has had a leg up in space communication satellites that in turn enhanced government mass surveillance capabilities.

This project, while maintaining a partnership between the YSA and Da Tian, Inc., will now include defense contractor Bo-Wu Company and aerospace manufacturer Asvald Gruppen Indrala. This partnership will find ways to allow weapons to be stationed in space, whether on a moon or in orbit. Currently, P420 features two main weapons: guided missiles and orbital kinetic rods. Guided missile satellites are said to be launched in the next year or so.

While nuclear warheads in space was floated around, Emperor Yu and the Crown Prince has both expressed dissatisfaction in that proposal and immediately shot it down stating that placing nuclear missiles in space not only go against the IANN treaty and World Congress resolutions on the matter, but it would leave an immoral stain on Yingdala’s history in the eyes of the international community. The project will begin to test Heavenly Rods by 4930 when a satellite spacecraft is capable enough to lift it into orbit. However, scientist are warning the IMC to be cautious in using the Heavenly Rods for two reasons: 1) the rods are unguided pieces of metal and could miss its target by a long shot, and 2) the impact of these rods are said to have an impact that is 3x the amount of dropping a nuclear missile. That’s where Project 911 comes into play.

Project 911 (or P911) is a space military program with the sole purpose of defending against any space-related attack, including aerial attacks. As mentioned previously, the Heavenly Rods are simply pieces of large metal that fall out of the sky and land on a target, however, since its not mechanized or guided, those targets can change drastically and must be countered from hitting a city or being close to killing civilians.

P911 will focus on upgrading the already established anti-satellite missiles and other aero-defense systems. Currently in the development phase is a hypersonic defense system capable of reaching from Tian’an to Hungermess in approximately 30 minutes, saving time and lives. The YSA and IMC are looking at Air-Launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW), Intermediate Range Conventional Prompt Strike (IRCPS), and Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW). These systems will enhance Yingdalan defense capabilities against air attacks.

The budgets for both projects are said to equal around ¥1.3 trillion INS, however, access to that information has remained classified for “national security”. Sources close by say that the budget is actually higher than what we’re being told, but again we do not have those details. Prime Minister Wu Guiying is expected to include P420 and P911 in the next five-year plan after the election in 4924.

Concerned murmurs fill the headquarters of the Red Dragon Group which fears that recent events will mark the beginnings of an ultra-conservative government. Some sources have suggested that this may be why Fan Fen is reluctant to condemn the "Indralan's People Front" who have recently threatened to commit violence in order to have their message heard. Suspiciously, Fen has been silent as to why she refuses to call them a terrorist group. Her only comment was:

One person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter. It would be wrong to view TIPF under an imperial lens.

The Indralan's People Front is a recognized radical organization that has surpassed state safety concerns. After recent remarks by the IPF to use violence in order to be heard, the Prime Minister ordered the Public Security Ministry's terrorism division to investigate the organization for possible terrorism. Under Yingdalan laws, any person or group may be investigated and charged for terrorism if they threaten violence on the public or the government. Special military tribunal courts are tasked with finding such persons or groups, after reviewing the evidence, guilty or innocent. Those found guilty of terrorism are imprisoned for life or receives the death penalty, whichever way the wind blows.

When entering his new office at the Heavenly Palace, Prime Minister Wu Guiying told reporters that the RDG should come out publicly and disassociate itself with the group. "The Red Dragon Group has, for weeks, no, months, dragged their feet on the IPF," Prime Minister Wu began. "It is time for Chairwoman Fan Fen to come out and condemn the group and disassociate from them without delay." Then, responding to fears that the RDG would be left out of the government, Prime Minister Wu said the following; "The Red Dragon Group, just like all parties in the Grand Union, are essential to the work of the government. We extended an offer to them to join us in the coalition as well as be a part of this government, however, our calls for unity fell on deaf ears. His Imperial and Royal Majesty's Government is ready to welcome the party and continue to work alongside other parties as they have done since their founding in 4848."

Whether or not the RDG condemns IPF, it is legally clear that any member of the party that aids the IPF in their actions will be investigated and judged in the military tribunal as a terrorist. HIRM's Government is looking to avoid arresting elected officials for the sake of democracy and the people.

Over the last decade, political instability has rocked this nation as the three political parties fight to secure a majority of seats in the National Congress. Marking the second time in a row, no party has achieved that goal. In Yingdala, when a party fails to reach 51% of the seats in the Congress, any party or coalition may form a government. As of now, the Constitutional Stability Coalition, which is comprised of the National Identity Party (287 seats) and the Yu Imperial Union (78 seats), remains in power.

Prime Minister Wu Guiying of the YIU and the CSC leader, will announce his five-year plan in the coming days as tensions begin to ramp up between our nation and Hulstria. This comes after Hulstria remains committed to invading Sekoku, a vassal state of Yingdala. The Wu Administration released a statement right after the election proclaiming to secure Seko at all cost. The future of Yingdala for next five years lies in the hands of the CSC and Prime Minister Wu.

The National Congress fills up with elected Deputies from all three political parties. Invited guests are signaled to their designated seats as they shuffle through the crowd. The news crew is set up in the front and the back to capture the historic address of Prime Minister Wu Guiying.

The Chief Imperial Guard for the National Congress steps up in the middle of the aisle and says, "Mister Chairman, the Supreme Court Justices of the Grand Union." The room bursts into applause as the 15 Supreme Court Justices walk down the aisle and take their seat at the front-left of the chamber. Following the Supreme Court were the members of the Imperial Military Commission and the State Security Commission.

The Chief Imperial Guard returns and says, "Mister Chairman, His Imperial and Royal Majesty's Government, the Imperial Cabinet of the Grand Union." All persons in the building rise from their seats with cheers and applauses as the Imperial Cabinet struts down the aisle to take their seats in the front-center of the chamber.

The moment of truth. The Chief Imperial Guard returns for the last time. The Chairman stands behind the podium and bangs his gavel three times. The room goes quiet. After 10 seconds, that silence is broken by the Chief Imperial Guard as he says, "Mister Chairman, the Prime Minister of the Grand Union of Yindala Da Tong!" With that, the room goes wild as the Prime Minister is escorted down the aisle by the Chief Imperial Guard. Members of the National Congress rush to the aisle to shake his hand and try to snap a selfie with him. It takes a full 10 minutes for the Prime Minister to make it to the podium where he will give his address.

The Chairman bangs his gavel three times and shouts "There will be order in the Chamber!" and waits 23 seconds for silence to finally fall over the chamber. After such silence, the Chairman began to speak by saying, "Ladies and gentlemen of the National Congress, the Prime Minister of the Grand Union of Yindala Da Tong!" The chamber once again goes nuts as Prime Minister Wu Guiying steps up to the podium. The lights are darkened, the spotlight now on Prime Minister Wu Guiying.

My fellow Yingdalans, it is a privilege and honor to stand before you as the Prime Minister of this Grand Union; a privilege bestowed upon me by the Son of Heaven, His Imperial and Royal Majesty, Emperor Yu Xigu and commissioned by the National Congress. (applause) I took office in September of 4920 during a time of instability, with the sole task of restoring stability in our government and the imperial order. During my four years in office, we have racked up a tremendous record in restoring imperial order in this country. Our government has finished building the last government building to the Heavenly Palace, the new seat of government for Yingdala. Our government is closer than ever before to the Son of Heaven and his connection to heaven.

Over the last couple of years, we have seen powerful nations rise up to redefine their position in geopolitics. As we all know, Yingdala is the center of global power in Terra. Our economy is number one and our influence is rising higher and higher each and every day. We cannot and must not stop now. For the next five years, under my leadership and the leadership of the Son of Heaven, we will "Redefine Yingdala's Role in Global Leadership".

My administration will continue the work in restoring Yingdala back to imperial rule by first reviewing imperial intervention in governmental affairs. The role of the imperial family has been laid out for generations, serving as the head of state that was bestowed upon the noble Yu Clan by the heavens. The role of the imperial family in government has remained minimal, however, that will all change. Over a decade now, Crown Prince Yu Bai Li has held a strong position in our foreign affairs and we must continue to allow the imperial family to interfere in foreign policy as they see it. Since their intervention, we have stronger ties to Liore and Bianjie, before which we had a relationship that was deemed unfixable. As we go through these turbulent times with Hulstria, we must seek guidance and counseling from the Son of Heaven who has divine wisdom and knowledge. Not only that, the imperial family must have a stronger presence in our judicial system. Right now, the Emperor serves as the Honorary Chairman of the Imperial Judicial Council, the governing body and foundation of Yingdala's judicial system. Politics, for years, has played a role in the judiciary. In order to prevent a justice system that functions on corruption, we must follow the Son of Heaven's guide in seeking a blind lady justice where race, creed, sexual orientation, wealth, family background, and status plays no role in seeking justice. Over the next five years, the Emperor will transition into an active role in the Imperial Judicial Council in order to ensure that blind justice reigns supreme in Yingdala.

The Grand Union cannot be grand without expanding its territory. A number of years ago, Sekoku voluntarily submitted their allegiance to Yingdala, becoming a vassal state within the Grand Union. Along with that pledge, Yingdala promised to protect and secure Seko from foreign aggression. Three months ago, we completed the construction of three military bases in Seko, and in the next six months, we will station over 250,000 troops in Seko. In addition to those bases, we have increased defense capabilities in Seko, even installing anti-satellite capabilities in the area. I can say for certain that Sekoku is secured than ever before! (applause) But, maintaining a vassal state can prove to be challenging as political opposition in those states increase. These challenges pose a threat to our national sovereignty and of the divine connection. That is why begin to install a supervisory office in Seko where we will monitor political opposition and deal with it accordingly. We must remain vigilant against all opposition and must continue to stand firm in our beliefs. The supervisory office will be tasked with handling all trade with Seko and potential vassal states, establishing Yingdalan trade dominance over the state. Dependence is key in successfully maintaining control over such states; dependence on Yingdalan products and services is a must.

The Seko-Hulstria border dispute has rocked the world as Hulstria is seeking war. We have seen the emergence of the OCY, a group of nobody countries seeking to team up against the Grand Union. I remember listening to a song that says that the more money you make, the more problems you'll have. That has remained true for us. The richer and more powerful we become, we will attract the attention of those who wish to be in our position. Countries like Aloria sought to defy imperial order by blocking Yingdalan access to their markets, however, with swift diplomatic action, the nation has done a full 180 and turned from their wicked ways. (applause) However, Hulstria is still seeking damnation. In these next five years, we will secure Seko's border with Hulstria to prevent invasion, whether that be ground or air. Furthermore, I have order military readiness in Seko as Hulstria, ready to strike at my order. We will act swiftly to control the situation and prevent war from breaking out. In case war is inevitable, we will attack quickly and often in order to defend Seko. There will be a victory from the start. In addition to military readiness, I will order defense contractors and other companies to begin producing military equipment and weapons in the sure case of an inevitable war. We must remain prepared at all times, never missing a beat nor an opportunity.

It has been a dream of the Son of Heaven to dominate space and we began to make that dream a reality. Already, we have begun to construct a satellite that will store guided missiles and heavenly rods in outer space, orbiting the planet in order to protect international peace and security. This year alone, we will launch ten satellites, testing the capacity of putting such weaponry in orbit. Before long, we will have the upper hand in all warfare. Furthermore, Yingdalan Space Agency will begin to construct a space station, the first-ever created in the world. Many nations have tried and all have failed, however, Yingdala wishes to actually finish construction. Over the next 20 years, the YSA will work with private space company, SpaceY, in creating a modern space station that will certainly be useful for space advancement. We will be seeking international support in this project and allow international partners access to the space station upon completion.

Yingdalans here and abroad, this is the new step that we must take in order to reach global dominance. We will become the light of the world, the shining star in the dead of night. Yingdala will reign supreme once again. Thank you!

"To Infinity and Beyond" Initiative Begins
YSA to begin building space station, a project that will take almost 20 years to complete

Over a year after Prime Minister Wu Guiying's speech to the National Congress where project "To Infinity and Beyond" was introduced, the Yingdalan Space Agency (YSA) has finally approved construction of the Yingdalan Space Station to begin. Construction is said to take almost 20 years, of course with some marginal areas, and is to cost close to ¥1 trillion INS. Many nations in the past has tried to construct a space station, however, all have given up on construction midway. The YSA announced yesterday that it plans to "see this project through completion" and will not give up or give in like other nations. The YSA also stated that international partnership is available to any nation with a space agency who looks to explore space with Yingdala.

The Prime Minister's Press Secretary announced during her daily press briefings that "the Prime Minister is excited to see this project start and will work with the YSA to see it through to completion." If completed, Yingdala will become the first nation in history to put a space station in space and further explore space.

The Deltarian economy took a nosedive in 4924. As an economic partner, Yingdala felt minor effects of such economic decline as our GDP dropped -0.5% in 4924 and will likely drop to -2% by the end of the fiscal year, bringing the GDP from ¥13.5 trillion INS in 4924 to ¥13.2 trillion INS by the end of this year. Our economy will still see a decline in 4926, but will bounce back up the following year. While the effects are minimal, Yingdalan economists are now demanding that the government cut economic ties with Deltaria. Same demands to the government appeared after the Yingdalan economy took a nosedive in 4853 when the Deltarian economy crashed, some calling it the Great Fall of the 4800s, and such calls were ignored by the government. Some are wondering when is it going to ever end.

Prime Minister Wu Guiying appeared at the National Congress as he released his two-year budget to the Monetary and Fiscal Policy Committee of the National Congress. The committee will most likely pass the budget in hopes of hurrying the process for swift passage in the midst of an early election called by Emperor Yu Xigu as the National Identity Party departed from the scene. In the Prime Minister's budget, government spending increased by ¥647 billion INS, mostly in areas of infrastructure and transport, health and social services, as well as an additional ¥50 billion INS per year for the "To Infinity and Beyond' Initiative. The Imperial and Royal Chariot has collapsed. His Majesty Xi Xigu, the Son of Heaven and Emperor of Yingdala, has passed away just shy of turning 120. Now referred to as the Emperor of the Great Journey, His Late Majesty ascended to Heaven peacefully in his sleep.

His Late Majesty's passing was not unexpected. Much of the day-to-day management of state affairs had been passed to then Crown Prince Yu Baili. Upon confirmation of his passing, Yu Baili immediately became Son of Heaven - the head of Jienism and Guidao - and the King, Sovereign, and Emperor of Yingdala.

In accordance with His Late Majesty's wishes, the funeral ceremony adhered to Jienist rites, but remained a very minimal state affair. Only members of the Royal Family and government were allowed to attend. As is tradition, the Emperor of the Great Journey was buried outside Tian'an in the Yu Clan Tombs, a series of large burial mounds.

The rites were, however, publicly broadcast to ensure the nation could participate. The Heavenly Palace was flooded with flowers and letters of condolence upon learning of His Last Majesty's ascension to Heaven. Many fondly remember His Late Majesty as a pillar of stability and a guide for Yingdala's continued rise.

While the new Son of Heaven's enthronement ceremony will be postponed for the time being, as the three year mourning period must first pass, Yingdalans are hopeful that His Majesty will follow in his father's footsteps and lead Yingdala to greatness.

Jien Party Refounded to Reverse Yingdala's Departure from Tradition

After many decades, the Jien Party, Yingdala's oldest political party and natural ruling party, has one again been reorganized. The new chairman of the Jien Party, Jiang Ning, said the refounding was necessary to address Yingdala's serious departures from Jienism.

Traditionally made up of government officials, scholars, land owners, and farmers, the new Jien Party has begun to emphasize the importance of the working class in their bid to reclaim power. Already, the Jien Party has proposed an ambitious election platform that seeks to return the country to Jienist principles and balance the economy between moral, business, and worker interests. While this platform has not received support in the legislature, its mix of traditional social policies and worker-focused economic reforms could very well split support for the Red Dragon Group and the Yu Imperial Union.

Obtaining political power is key for the Jienists. They mean to increase support for the monarchy, while preventing the nobles from turning the Son of Heaven into a puppet.

His Lordship Wu Xinyi, the Duke of Shu and head of the Wu Clan (former Sons of Heaven and a cadet branch of the Yu Clan), is said to be backing the Jien Party. The Duke is believed to be dissatisfied with his son's, the Yingdalan Prime Minister, direction for the country, especially the focus on imperialism.

It is believed the growth in power of the aristocracy, coupled with an open desire for imperialism, played a major role in the Jien Party's refounding. Should it manage to reclaim power, it will likely implement a number of reforms it believes are necessary for Yingdala's survival.

The Yu Imperial Union is once again in the middle of another political crisis as the Wu Clan changes political support. Not many years ago, the Wu Clan was the second major noble clan that backed a political party. Supporters respected this move as political disunity was at an all time high in the nation. The Yu Imperial Union, the Red Dragon Group, and the National Identity Party found it difficult to get anything done as each party sought to undermine the other, even the YIU changed coalitions to join in with the Red Dragon Group and gaining political power. Noble clans like the Wu Clan stepped in to mitigate the chaos and return Yingdala to normal.

However, today changed it all when His Lordship Wu Xinyi, Duke of Shu and head of the Wu Clan, announced that the Wu Clan will back the Jienists party as his son, Prime Minister Wu Guiying, takes a turn towards imperialism. In his inaugural speech, Prime Minister Wu announced a subtle takeover of countries through unconventional means. Upon announcing their change in political backing, the Prime Minister and the Imperial Cabinet are now stuck in the middle of whether to keep control of the government or let it fall again. The Heavenly Palace's Press Secretary for Governmental Affairs stated today in the press briefing that "Prime Minister Wu Guiying is focused on building a nation that flows with the ever-changing time, and, is not worried at the moment about political fallout." While we are still unclear of the direction the Prime Minister and his cabinet will take, it is certain that Duke Wu Xinyi wants his son to resign from office and return to Shu Province.

Critics are jumping up out of the gutter to pronounce their distaste in His Lordship Wu Xinyi's quick change of pace after the death of the Son of Heaven and the appoint of anew. "Our nation is still in a period of mourning and Duke Wu is sitting here playing politics," one critic said as they protested outside Duke Wu's residence. " I think instead of Prime Minister Wu resigning, His Lordship should resign in dishonor for politicizing during a period of mourning and for sticking to the past," another young protester stated. "I knew this would happen once nobility gained political power," a religious scholar commented when walking past protesters.

In a surprising turn of events, however, the Prime Minister Wu asked his party's National Congress delegation to change their vote on the Jienist Party platform bill. This can be seen as a political move to mitigate the loss of power in the sure presence of a traditional comeback. Lawmakers have refused to answer questions related to their vote change due to a gag being placed on them by the Yu Imperial Union at the direction of the Prime Minister.
