Tiankong Group to reopen commercial flights to Dankuk
The conglomerate has begun to discuss careful investment within the nation

Ren Guanting speaks with reporters outside of the Kaizhou International Airport

KAIZHOU, Jiaozhi Province: The Tiankong Group, an Indralan conglomerate which has long heavily held major shares of the Indralan commercial flight sector, has announced that its airlines will once again resume flights to Dankuk.

This comes at a time when relations with Dankuk have finally begun to thaw bit by bit, especially with the Dranian Federalist Party now in power. In fact, their victory in the Dankuk national election is believed to be what spurred the government to finally begin normalizing actions with the nation, with a meeting in Avienne-Les Baines, Lourenne, and repealing key parts of both the Dankuk Act and Dai Paper.

Ren Guanting, CEO, gave a statement on the matter. "I'm so happy to announce that we re once again opening up are skies to Dankuk," she said, "I see this as a step forward in not only economic interests for the company, but one in bringing together the people of our nations, especially those of the Kyo-Indralan community."

In a separate announcement Ren also revealed the possibility of other investments within Dankuk, as well as a program in the first few months of reopening in which Kyo-Indralans could get a large discount on round trips to Dankuk, possibly allowing them to see the homeland and families that they'd been estranged from for about a century.

One elderly Indralan of Kyo descent in Jugang spoke to our reporter, "I can't wait to be able to finally be able to go see my cousins in Dankuk. I barely remember being in the country[Dankuk], but my parents always told me stories about our family and I'm excited to finally be able to truly meet them for the first time."

Tiankong announces headquarters change
The conglomerate plans to have a new multi-headquarter system
Image

Sketch for a possible renovation and addition of Sky City Kaizhou to include the new headquarters.

KAIZHOU, Jiazohi Province: Tiankong, which is currently based in Tian'an, has decided to move its operations around in order to have a total of three different headquarters in Indrala: one will remain in Tian'an, while another two will be created in Kaizhou and Mundawan.

Each of these headquarters will reportedly play a major role in a different sectors of the company, as well as regionalising the control of each headquarter.

Kaizhou is to become home to the conglomerates largest headquarter, making its way as home to Tiankong's administrative, international, and technological advancement departments. It will also be home to administration of Northern Indrala. The city is definitely a great locaiton for the above sectors with its seemingly constant innovation and highly busy airports, as well as Fehua Bay being the location of Tiankong's Lotus City project. Ren Guanting is also believed to have personal motives behind the move, as her husband: Yao Ling is a member of the Chengs, and wishes to remain near his family, instead of in Tian'an.

Meanwhile, Mundawan will become the company's manufacturing, aviation development, and Central Indrala headquarters. This is mostly due to the fact that Tiankong already has a sprawling industrial complex in the city, which manufactures all the planes now used by the group.

Finally, Tian'an headquarters will be greatly shrunken into only serving as financial, legal, and consumer sectors, although control of Southern Indrala will remain in the site.

Does corporal punishment work?
The Pragmatic Institute found negative long-term results for children, but research on adults lacking.

Image
Image
Judicial corporal punishment is legal in 7 countries, any form of corporal punishment is illegal in Indrala.

BEIZHOU, Jiaozhi Province:
Corporal punishment is an enticing practice. It is far cheaper and faster than imprisonment, and even more effective according to some popular wisdom. Who would dare litter or skip their homework if the punishment was a caning? The sheer violence and ferocity of judicial caning is enough to make even the most hardened criminal weep. The traditional view may see it as an effective solution to delinquent behaviour.

Does it actually work?

The Pragmatic Institute, an Indralan think tank, conducted an analysis on various studies of effects of corporal punishment on children. They found that it may correct undesirable behaviour in the short-term, but overall lead to long-term developmental problems. Negative results in mental health, domestic relations, and increased substance abuse does not paint a promising picture for any future use. Use of corporal punishment on children is also associated with lower academic performance. Even lighter forms of corporal punishment such as spanking has not found any positive long-term results in research.

Judicial corporal punishment is different however. It can be done under controlled conditions whereas parents and schoolteachers may vary in their application. The institute was not able to find any evidence for or against judicial caning on adults apart from anecdotal tales and moral arguments.

Pragmatic Institute wrote:When we looked into judicial corporal punishment, particularly caning, all we found was moral and anecdotal arguments. Those kind of arguments do not have objective conclusions. We are only interested in whether or not a punishment leads to a social good (lower crime for example). The results of a policy — not the morality — are our focus.

A number of monarchist citizens in Tian'an publicly celebrate the marriage with great fanfare

Princess Byeon Minlin has married Cheng Tian in a traditional Jienist ceremony in Tian'an. The match has officially sealed together two of Indrala's most prominent noble families: the Suns and the Chengs. Princess Minlin is the youngest of Fengmian Sun's three children, making her the grandchild of the late Jianwen Emperor. Cheng, on the other hand, is second inline to the titles of Marquis of Mei Cheng Palace and Duke of Kangkai, which will move from his grandfather to his father to him.

The couple are said to have prerviously met at the elaborate wedding of Cheng Tian's cousin: Yao Ling in 4454. They both fell head over heels for each other in the following months, with Cheng reportedly saying that at some points he felt like he was messaging Byeon every other second. Eventually the pressure of the long distance became too much and Cheng moved temporarily south to Tian'an so he could spend more time with Byeon. The two became officially engaged in December of 4456, after Cheng Tian gained the approbal of the Emperor and his father: Cheng Ming..

Despite their own rather private ceremony, the streets of both Tian'an and Kaizhou, as well as a few other cities, exploded with celebration as Indralans cheered on the joining of the two families.

Wei Zhenya questions Pragmatic Institute study
The SDP leader had a few questions about the legality of the study
Image
Image
Wei Zhenya speaking to a crowd of reporters

TIAN'AN, Han Province: Wei Zhenya, leader of the SDP, attacked the Pragmatic Institute, and indirectly the Pragmatic Party, over a study completed by the think tank earlier this year.

The group's multiple studies focused on the effects of corporal punishment, both on children and in the judiciary system. It claimed that punishment was found relatively unhelpful when used with children, and had no known effects when it came to adults in the system.

Wei's concern stemmed from the fact that such results would require testing to reach such as consensus; however, all corporal punishment is currently illegal in Indrala. With this information, the SDP leader attacked the Pragmatic Institute calling for its board members and president to step down from their positions, giving a moving statement to the press, "I am horrified by the contents of this study. Not only does it suggest that the corporal punishment, an action that is very much illegal, occurred on adults, but also on children," Wei said, "child abuse is a step way too far for me, and I intend work to investigate this matter if the Pragmatic Institute stands by and does nothing."

The Pragmatic Institute is also believed to be connected with the Pragmatic Party, so it is very possible that Wei may already be gaining the ire of one of Indrala's newer parties.

Cheng Yu spotted with Yingpop star: Mo Xiang
Cheng was seen in Kaizhou without the traditional noble wear and much less hair
Image
Image
Photograph of Cheng in a local Kaizhou park

KAIZHOU, Jiazohi Province: The Indralan nobility is well known across the world for their continued use of traditional dress and style into the modern day, and thus it was surprising to find that Cheng Yu, a member of the Kaizhou Cheng Clan was wearing a suit and had cut his hair. It was even more surprising to see him with Mo Xiang, a popular Yingpop star.

This transformation could trace its way back to about four years ago when Cheng came out online. While, he had gone quite after the even, there was large debate within the Kaizhou community as to whether the Chengs had accepted their members new life, and from these new photos it seems like they may have not. Mei Cheng Palace refused to give a statement when approached by one of our reporters, though it is believed that Cheng Yu was seen entering the palace earlier in the week.

Despite his family troubles, Cheng Yu seems happier than ever with Mo Xiang, who came out about a year ago. The couple has been seen all over the city, with many sources saying that Cheng has been staying with Mo over the past year.

There doesn't seem to be a definite answer on what is happening within the seemingly divided Cheng household with Yu, we can only hope it comes to a fast and happy ending.

Chief Minister resigns from Lotus Party leadership, will not run in 4460

Grand Assembly Building, Tian'an

TIAN'AN, Han: Chief Minister Shi Yiguang announced her resignation as head of the centrist Lotus Party at a morning press conference today, saying she has asked the Party President to organize a leadership convention. Shi has served as Lotus Party leader for 34 years, the last nine of which as Chief Minister of Indrala.

Shi’s ambitious IAFI Modernization Program and the normalization of relations with Dankuk rank among her administration’s principal accomplishments. The Chief Minister told the press conference it was necessary for her to step aside so that she could focus her energy on her family and grandchildren.

"Serving the people of Indrala has been an incredible honour," she said. "After more than 44 years of public service, however, I no longer have the energy to continue the fight."

The Chief Minister is resigning at a time in which her popularity among Lotus Party members and the greater Indralan population remains positive. However, some observers have questioned the 75-year-old politician's physical fitness for the office in recent months, with Shi appearing exhausted.

A shortlist of potential candidates for the Party Leadership, including academic-turned-Foreign Minister Jiang Chen, businesswoman Li Yixin, General Labour Federation President Wei Jianxing, and Kaizhou National University Dean Lü Jianzhong has gained attention among pundits, political observers and the public en masse.

GONGMANGDO, Dranian Federation: Coinciding with the improving diplomatic situation between Indrala and Dankuk, YM Entertainment, the country’s largest record label and entertainment agency, has opened a subsidiary office in Dankuk, named YM Entertainment North.

More than a commercial project, we are excited to be able to unite the people of Indrala and Dankuk, and indeed, the people of the world through song and dance.”

Park and his grandson share an emotional embrace

NATIONAL NEWS: The nation watched on Monday as a 75-year-old Kyo-Dranian man named Park Hong-jun wept and stroked the hair of his orphaned 7-year-old Kyo-Indralan grandson. It was their first meeting, proving that family ties runs much deeper than political division. The photos of the meeting have since gone viral, gaining the attention of Foreign Minister Jiang Cheng. Jiang has said that he intends to fast-track Park's immigration request to come to Indrala and legally adopt his grandson.

The emotional reunion is one of countless others marked by glowing tears, joy and disbelief occurring this month, as travel restrictions between Indrala and Dankuk have been lifted and commercial flights between the two nations have resumed.

The vast majority of Kyo-Indralans are refugees, or the descendants of refugees, who came to Indrala in waves since the 4270s. Many of these refugees fled political persecution in Dankuk, expecting to never see their families again.

GLF President Wei Jianxing elected Lotus Party Leader on third-ballot

Shuzhou, Anle Province: General Labour Federation President Wei Jianxing upset a crowd of highly-popular candidates in the Lotus Party's leadership election, securing a third ballot victory with 50.4% of the preferential vote. Wei beat Foreign Minister Jiang Chen, Kaizhou National University Dean Lü Jianzhong and venture capitalist Li Yixing in a narrow race which saw him trailing Jiang until the final ballot.

Foreign Minister Jiang was widely perceived to be the frontrunner in the early days of the electoral campaign. However, Jiang's fortunes shifted after the first Leadership debate in which Wei's confrontational, and at times controversial, style stole the show. Wei's commanding debate performance gained his populist-left platform support from detractors of the party and members of the party establishment alike.

Wei took to the stage shortly after the results were announced, thanking Lotus Party members for their support while urging them to "remember our priorities ... going into the next few weeks."

"We will have to work together to unify our caucus and our party so that we can hold Wei Zhenya's feet to the fire," Wei said. "And I'll tell you this: I am prepared to take the coalition on."

This morning, Wei was seen visiting the grave site of his parents, reportedly asking them for strength in his upcoming battle for the Chief Ministry. In a press conference later today, Wei further attacked the Social Democratic Party heading into the next election.

"Wei Zhenya is a deeply compromised individual," Wei told a crowd of supporters and reporters. "Currently, she's being sued for lying to the Indralan people. Since then, we haven't heard a word out of her mouth... and she wants to be Chief Minister? I'm getting prepared today, so that I can confront Wei Zhenya's lies directly after the election."

Wei Jianxing also announced that he had stepped down from his position as President of the General Labour Federation, Indrala's largest labour union, fully committing himself to securing "a major victory" in the upcoming General Election.

Ren Guanting spotted in Yonseo

SEONGTAEK, Dankuk Tiankong has announced its plan to finally begin physical construction and operations within the territory of Dankuk, which before the last decade had been cut off for over a century. The decision has come after the former "Imperials" of Dankuk fled the country to Sekowo.

Physical investment will be seen across the nation's major cities, as the conglomerate announced it will begin the construction of its famous Skycities in the airports of Seongtaek, Port Ryanach, Gongmangdo, and Iglesia Mayor in the coming years. The company also reportedly is discussion the option of expanding their air services farther into Dankuk, becoming a line of both international flights to Indrala and domestic flights within Dankuk.

CEO Ren Guanting has also announced that the company will be making considerable donations to a variety of foundations, schools, hospitals, and small businesses within the nation, while also declaring their support for the Federalist Party through a large donation to their political campaign.

Guanting delivered a statement on it, "I'm very impressed by what the Federalist Party was able to do, in not only overthrowing a despotic monarchy, but also creating a functioning democratic state in its wake. It is due to this why I've decided to give so generously."

A group of representatives from both the Ren and Cheng family were also seen in Yonseo, attending the gala of a local noble family.

KAIZHOU, Jiaozhi Province: This morning, Tiankong CEO Ren Guanting announced that the conglomerate would be purchasing the video game production company HAOKAN Games, which was previously known for its wildly popular Xuni system.

The move will be Tiankong's first step into the entertainment/media industry, but it does come after a survey was released by the Market, saying that over 70% of Indralans play video games.

Many economists believe this could create a boon for the already rapidly expanding company, especially as the merge gives it route to branch off from the development its championed and towards industries such as Yingpop, movies, video games, and more.

Real Lotus Cities floating near Kaizhou harbour

Kaizhou, Jiaozhi Province: After what has ended up being an almost decade-long project, the Tiankong group has announced that it has finally completed its Lotus Cities and that they will soon be available for the public to move into.

While at the current moment, Lotus Cities are planned to be kept in relatively the same location, perhaps leaving once or twice from the designated port, a model that will also be common in the future, Ren Guanting revealed plans to create a comprehensive deal with other nations that would allow Lotus Cities to float across the globe and dock, or even stary, in designated port cities of participating countries.

She told the press, "I think that this plan would create an amazing way for us to bridge across different cultures and place, when we're constantly moving across the globe to experience different things," Ren said, "whether the Lotus City will follow this route is ultimately up to its residents, and I plan to market a number as nomadic and a larger amount as stationary, port-based cities."

In Kaizhou, listings for properties within the Lotus Cities are set to go live by the end of the week.

Emperor to visit Dankuk following Dranian State Visit
Wei Jianxing vows to lower minimum wage, extend credit to farms

TIAN'AN, Han Province: Following a historic state visit from Dranian Federal Chairman Sun Seohyun and Premier Hana Pastora de Santiago, the Imperial Palace has shocked the nation by announcing that the Jianxiao Emperor shall undertake an official state visit of Dankuk in 4466, the first ever trip outside of Indrala by a reigning Emperor of the Yu Dynasty.

While just 10 years before the scheduled trip, Dankuk was viewed as an adversarial state. The democratization of the Northern Dovani nation, however, has opened new avenues for cultural, economic and political exchange. Dankuk and Indrala were historic allies prior to the rise of the Hwangje dictatorship. The announcement from the Heavenly City today seems to suggest that this special bilateral relationship is being rapidly restored.

The Emperor is expected to travel along with a large delegation of military, political and aristocratic individuals. A great deal of agreements are expected to arise out of the visit, including a potential military base leasing agreement.

LP Leader Wei Jianxing inspects produce at a pomelo farm near Yi'an, rural Min Province

YI'AN, Rural Min Province: Lotus Party Leader Wei Jianxing met with labour leaders, farmers and rural workers today seeking to "understand" the challenges facing rural communities across Indrala. Speaking to a crowd, the Lotus Party Leader also used the opportunity to attack the Social Democrats and the Chief Minister.

“While Wei Zhenya and the Pragmatists would rather meet with lawyers and litigators in Tian’an to fight a petty legal battle, I’d much rather be here with you,” The Official Opposition Leader said to the cheers of those gathered. “I don’t think Slippery Wei Zhenya would be comfortable around such hardworking and honest people.”

The Lotus Party has long discussed the issue of centralized economic prosperity in urban centres. Part of the problem, the party suggests, comes from "urban-designed" labour policies. As President of the General Labour Federation, Wei Jianxing long advocated for lowering the minimum wage, in contrast with the traditional position of organized labour.

"Listen, I think that the legislators who enacted this legislation had very good intentions, very good," Wei said when discussing the minimum wage. "However, you folks know that it's hard to operate a farm when you have to pay each farmhand an astronomically high wage, let alone pay your children such wages. How can we create jobs in rural communities when Tian'an is forcing you to live in poverty just to pay your neighbour?"

Wei Jianxing announced that his government, if elected, would lower the minimum wage, and give power to the Provinces in setting rates of renumeration. Further, Wei announced that a Lotus Party government would increase subsidies to farmers who have "been hit hard by far-left policies."
