Hyperion Star News:

BREAKING NEWS: THREE DEAD IN COMMIE COUP
Three factory workers have been killed in eastern Hawu Mumenhes earlier today, in what police are calling a coordinated attack by communist insurgents.

Six men, self identifying as "Mumenhes Liberty Union" insurgents, stormed a Luger factory in eastern Hawu Mumenhes. Three workers tried to resist and were killed "execution style" by the attackers. Police and a small military contingent are deployed to relieve the situation, however the MLU insurgents refused to cooperate, leading police to raid the facility. All six men were apprehended, and are being charged with murder, breaking and entering, destruction of property, obstruction of commerce, several counts of kidnapping, attempted arson, resisting arrest, and jaywalking.

Little is known about the MLU. They began during the previous Hyperion administration as a violent pro monarchist group attempting to remove the Hyperion government.

Cities bow to MLU, denounce Nekhatw Government

Several cities in Aqak have joined the Mumenhes Liberty Union, according to local newspaper across Aqak. One such mayor had this to say:
For too long we have let international fat cats rule our land. We have let the corrupted Nekhatw sinners write our laws. We have failed as a people. It is time to end this oppression. The Mumenhes Liberty Union is the way forward, and I suggest to all that wish to listen to join our ranks.

Hawu Mumenhes Welcomes Closer Relations With Beiteynu

"We are hopeful that this is the start of a long lasting new age in Beiteynu for them to become more acceptive to non-Yeudish peoples" Hawu Foreign Affairs Minister Sigidi Rere comments. "Moreover, this equal partnership between Hawu Mumenhes and Beiteynu disproves the nonsensical and racist claim by the Clifford Douglas of the Rutanian Whig Party that Hawu culture is somehow 'inferior'" he continues.

Surprise Election Results Leads to Uncertainty in Labor Planning

In the election of 4323, many people were shocked at the results of it. In the previous election, the Labor Party had only 106 representatives out of 750 and lead only one Nome (Aqak). However, the latest election resulted in the Party suddenly having 555 representatives and gaining three additional Nomes. This sudden supermajority has lead to some representatives advocating for the monarchy to be replaced with a republic. However, Labor President Alexander Sasmew has stated the following: "While I am not opposed to the idea, I will not support this unless our Esinsundu brothers Talmoria and Cobura do the same. If we do it by ourselves, it will certainly damage our relationship with them."

At IeUkN Investment Bank, Plans to Reassert Hawu Leadership Take Shape
Image
At launch of international exchange, 'prosperity at home and stability abroad depend on assertive foreign policy,' say titans of finance

AQQAK -- Frustrated with the Sasmew administration's 'insular and arbitrary' foreign policy, leading bankers, investors, and captains of industry have coalesced around a plan for the private sector to take matters into its own hands.

Sounding the opening bell at the start of trading today in Aqqak, the finance and political capitol, a veritable Who's Who of high finance and big business teamed up to launch the joint venture which they say will reassert Hawu leadership in the international system. Called Global Stock Exchange or GSE, the new Aqqak-based securities trading market will be open to corporations and investors from across Terra and is designed to track economic growth in all the world's economies. 'Global Stock Exchange will not only provide much-needed capital to companies and entrepreneurs everywhere, it will also serve as a research and education resource for the world's governments as they seek to craft sound economic policy for their citizens,' said Wilburn Battersby Hamšemesses, Co-Chairman of Global Stock Exchange Inc., the joint venture's holding company.

Because GSE will be an international stock exchange, it will provide access to larger pools of capital than corporations can attract on their home countries' domestic exchanges. And investors like High Net-worth Individuals, pension and hedge funds, governments and sovereign wealth funds, and even political parties and household consumers will find many more opportunities to grow their portfolios and savings, GSE executives told reporters at this morning's press avail.

The new exchange will be Terra's first large-scale global finance effort since Hutori's International Terran Bank's operations slowed a century ago. Asked if the new joint venture was intended to fill the void left by ITB and its associated companies, Battersby was emphatic. 'Absolutely. As international tensions rise unabated in political hotspots Terra-wide, risks like financial misrepresentation, embezzlement, money laundering, currency manipulation, liquidity crunch, and financial bubbles pose increasingly clear and present dangers to the global financial system. Hutorian finance played a key and deserved role in global economic stability. Their receding from the market will be felt as political instability becomes more acute. It was therefore imperative that responsible actors take efforts to fill the vacuum,' Battersby replied.

The syndicate of leading banks, investors, and big business was brought together by IeUkN, the Arnak-based investment bank that has played a pivotal if quiet role in Hawu and international economic and political developments for 400 years. Motivated by clients' stagnant balance sheets and self-professed civic duty, IeUkN officials said rapid and largescale intervention was essential. 'What we're seeing in the global system over recent decades is long-term multipolarity and rapid realignments of alliances and power,' said Julia Warren-Mhaule, IeUkN's Vice-Chair for Government Affairs. 'The velocity in the political environment has presented unique opportunities for governments willing to act boldly and quickly. Recent administrations at home have been more inward-looking than the historical norm, and that has been reflected in companies' bottom lines, especially those doing business abroad. The Global Stock Exchange is the latest in the long list of examples of IeUkN staff, partners, and alumni showcasing the bank's values of country and craft, values which trace to the founding of the country and beyond.'

The launch's invoking of IeUkN's role in political history is not lost on public policy analysts, some of whom see as much domestic politicking in GSE as international economics. 'IeUkN has always been a hotbed of Federationist power,' recalled Andreaka Perkins Hbouimesses, Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Soleb. 'Ity ꜣḥwt xꜣdt has been handsomely and consistently supported by IeUkN donors, Fourth Week Group is waist-deep in IeUkN bankers and alums, and every Federationist Finance Ministry been a revolving door of IeUkN names, including the current Ministry. On the one hand, the GSE play is right strategically and right on the economics. But on the other, it's right for Federationist politicians too because it allows them to project influence at a time when they didn't expect to lose electoral dominance so swiftly and so deeply.'
