Kien: During the formation of the National Imperial Party its intend was to create a strong and stable state led through a constitutional monarchy with a Hulstrian on the throne. This state, according to the founders of the party Konstantin Neurath and Imaeda Hokusai, would have been ruled by a hulstrian monarch but would consist of two seperate kingdoms basically creating a Dual Monarchy. The crown of Hulstria and the crown of Gao-Soto would be created with both crowns being given to the Hulstrian monarch. This system however would create two distinct countries within the greater crownlands which would be named the Empire of Hulstria and the Kingdom of Gao-Soto, they would follow the same foreign policy, have a customs unions and have a unified armed force but would largely govern themselves independently with only the Imperial Cabinet determining foreign affairs and certain minor domestic policies in regards to the economy and armed forces.

But now, with the new NDU government taking shape, this dream of a strong, stable "two state" solution seems to be shattered as the new government has proposed the abolishment of the monarchy and has instead prompted for a Federal Republic to be created, hoping to stop the divide that has always existed between Hulstrian and Gao-Soton people's. The NKP, upon this decision by the NDU government, stated that this decision could spark "immense instability and a possible continuation of violence". The party also told reporters that instead of giving both Hulstrians, Hulstro-Showans and Kunihitanese their full self determination the NDU government, according to the NKP, has opted for a "weak" solution and a "continued tension"
One of the NKP leaders, Konstantin Neurath, said that by forcing Hulstrians and Gao-Sotons into a state where they are only given partial control over domestic matters is "immoral" and "disregards the traditions of both the Hulstro-Showan and Kunihitan populations as well as those of the Hulstrian population" The solution of the NKP, as they themselves explain, would give both people groups within the Crownlands full autonomy and self determination on domestic issues instead of a "half baked and weak system prone to further instability".

The NKP also vouched to fight the decision of the government at every turn and pledged to stay active until the "rights and traditions of all people within Hulstria and Gao-Soto have been restored"

Philosopher and Professor of Dovanian Culture at Miyako National University, Inouye Yakamochi, forms new party
Shortly after a speech to the Gao-Sotoan Association of Culture and Art, the 51 year old historian formed a new, mostly conservative party.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The food was prepared, and the pleasantries exchanged. Approaching the podium was a man who'd already established himself as an accomplished historian at the local level for his studies of Gao-Sotoan art, culture, and philosophy. The crowd gave light applause as he adjusted the microphone. He was Inouye Yakamochi, and he began his speech with a reading of classical poetry. Afterwards, Yakamochi segued into discussions of Gao-Sotoan achievements, in various sectors such as science, politics, but mostly centered around cultural topics. The crowd, sat in their seats, applauded his deep, profound notions in regards to their culture. Soon after, he ended his speech with a toast towards the future of Gao-Soto, with the seated audience raising their glasses with him—And Yakamochi hinted at a push for a return of the monarchy.

Once the speech had ended, and some had left, evidently it was the opposite for Mr. Yakamochi. Approaching the podium once more, a small batch of papers in his hand, he adorned his reading glasses, speaking in a stern but confidant tone: Effective immediately, a new political party would be formed at the national level, wholly supporting the interests of his proud people, and being a shining torch of conservatism in the nation's Kunihito-speaking lands. Those that had remained stood from their chairs, giving feverish applause at a deafening roar. In short remarks afterward, he explained the core tenets of the party, which including rigorous funding of subsidized education and healthcare, alongside some liberal conservative social reforms, and the strengthening of labor laws. Yakamochi spoke also of the need of partial economic deregulation, to allow Gao-Soto to "greatly prosper" economically. Eventually, he'd announce the lower leaders of the party, before he departed.

It seems now, the NKF in Hulstria has an excellent asset in Gao-Soto, and already, analysts have speculated about a possible coalition between the two.

Seeing moderate electoral success, the Kokumin-minshutō seeks a parliamentary coalition
After earning 16.67% of the vote in their home State of Hirugā, and strangely winning Hulstria in a landslide, the NDP has already sought out a coalition.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

With the results of the 4620 election came a surprising wave of moderate success for Yakamochi's National Democratic Party, despite having formed only a few months ago. While trailing at the bottom for elections of the Bandesupāsamurangu, the NDP strangely won Hulstria itself, despite being a party wholly for Gao-Sotoan minority politics. Also strangely, the NDP performed rather poorly in Mitorania. However, the party gained greater success in the State upon which it was formed—Hirugā. Whilst being firmly in third place in polls, Yakamochi has attributed the 49 seats that the NDP has gained as a "hard-fought" success. Many fellow NDP politicians now wield greater power at the local level, which many Gao-Sotoans have accepted with fanfare.

Their chances of being at the top were snatched by a party similar to them in ideology and policy, them being the Nationale Kaiserliche Partei. But instead of drawing political battle lines, Mr. Yakamochi wasted no time in extending an olive branch. "The NKP share our deep support for a monarchy to return in both our lands. We are one in the same, but speak different tongues. It is for this reason that I offer unto them, as well as other fellow conservative parties, a chance for a parliamentary coalition to achieve our goals." Crowds present at the press conference gave applause at Yakamochi's statement, but many know all too well that the issue of monarchism and republicanism continues to develop into a growing debate within both Hulstria and Gao-Soto. A response from the NKP has yet to be heard, but many analysts are leaning towards it being a likely possibility—The same cannot be said for other conservative parties Mr. Yakamochi mentioned, for many strongly support the continuation of the nation as a Federal Republic.

If Mr. Yakamochi's coalition is to continue to grow, the path ahead lies full of political obstacles, ones that require careful persuasion to navigate.

Immediately after the election results had been posted, NDP President Inouye Yakamochi began a press conference, taking questions from local, Gao-Sotoan reporters.

New Government Expected to Take Office
27 December 4621
Image
After almost a year of negotiations between various political parties, a new government is expected to be sworn in early next month. Florian Keutz, the NDU chairman who has been acting as caretaker Chancellor since elections in August 4620, has reportedly agreed to a coalition agreement with the leftist Devpratmitist League - there were fears that continuing the protracted discussions would culminate in new elections next spring. Both the League and the NDU are committed to the republican agenda initiated under Keutz’s government, something which became a key sticking point in the formation of any government. It is unclear whether Keutz will continue to serve in government after the NDU sustained losses - the NDU’s annual party conference will be held in April 4622 where it Keutz’s future will be debated.

Keutz Re-elected as NDU Chairman
27 April 4622
Image
Former Chancellor Florian Keutz won re-election as chairman of the National Democrats (NDU) on Thursday with 78.9 percent of votes cast by 1,003 party delegates, giving him a much needed boost as he seeks to lead his party into a third federal election. The endorsement fell short of the 98.7 percent Keutz won when he was last re-elected two years ago, four months before an election that saw the NDU lose its majority in parliament and its position as the largest party. Despite the losses, the NDU negotiated a coalition with the leftist Devpratimist League in which Keutz currently serves as Internal Minister. There had been speculation that Keutz would stand aside following the appointment of a new government but given his grassroots popularity with party members, no obvious contender for the chairmanship emerged. Recent opinion polls have indicated a slight upswing in support for the NDU, a factor that likely contributed to Keutz’s re-election.

The Opposition Leader Calls for a Place In Government.

Kien- The HPM and the Right Wing has been under intense scrutiny and pressure since their re-emergence on the political scene. The DL or Devpratimist League has been attempting to keep the Right out of the government. In the last election, 28% of the populous voted for the HPM. The Prince of Hulstria calls it "A real travesty" in a rare interview. The party chair Daniela Kluckhohn said in an interview yesterday

We do not mean to cause this much division. I have no idea why the DL had been so negative towards us. We just want a democratic state and a government that serves the people not the other way around. We hope this conflict ends soon so we can voice our opinion in government as well.

Sophie Returns!!!

Kien-

Princess Sophie or Kaiserine depending on if you are a loyalist or not returned to the vacant Imperial Palace today after her extended stay in Istalia. The Empress visited her younger sister at her palace yesterday and left to her home country. So far there is no comment from the DL and other parties but she put out a statement saying "I wish to not cause any ruckus however I just want to live my life in peace". She has no political power in the country and she wishes to not gain any either. She decided to return after the death of her husband. "The only things I knew were gone, I had to return to the country I love".

As World Tensions Rise Hulstria More Than Ever Needs Military Modernization

The Legislature today announced the beginning of a new age in Hulstria. The Legislature proposed a deal that would modify the Hulstrian and Gao-Soto armed forces so that they can become what they once were when Hulstria was a world power. The Defence Minister Outlined the plan open to the legislature.
The framework for an effective military exists. We have broken down missile defense system. We have a good tank corp that has helped in exercises and in the Kivonian Civil War. This will take a long time but we feel that we can get it to where we want it to be. In the coming months, we will rework our military doctrines. We want to emphasize support for the mobile elite tank and mobile infantry columns. Once our ground forces are upgraded and modernized we will start with our air force. Since we don't have new models of jet fighters and aircraft we will have to team up with larger military power. Once the Air Force is finished we will begin to the expansion of our navy in this day and age-old missile cruisers and old diesel submarines won't do. We will invest time and effort into making nuclear-powered submarines to defend our shores. We will also begin to design and work with the possibility of an aircraft carrier as well. This process will take a long time but at the end of it all, I assure you we will be a powerful nation that defends democracy. Finally, when all of the branches of the military are equipped a modernized we will begin a possible nuclear weapons program for defense only. In the coming months, you will see the plan put into action

The Beginning

Kien- Hulstria and Gao-Soto began the first phase of the modernization process by updating the tanks of the expected Deltarian Expeditionary Force. Engine filters were added to keep sand and dust out of the engines. They were also oiled using nonheating oil to prevent overheating. The armor was also thickened by 3 inches of steel and more room was added to accommodate 50 rounds of ammunition. After testing the new Panzerkampfwagen-Cheetah-B, it has been proving effective. In one month the force that might go to Delatria will receive these upgrades. The rest of the armored units on the Hulstrian and Gao-Sotan military will gradually be upgraded and the expected finishing date is in 1 year, once the project is complete the current Cheetah Tank Divisions will be combat capable in a variety of conditions including arid, cold, wet and polar climates. The Cheetah is also replacing more obsolete tanks and in 3 years will be the only class of tank on the Hulstrian Armed Forces.
