"Karcher 'ready to take on new challenges' after election results"

Kien, Hulstria - "Now that we truly know how Hulstrians feel about our party's goals, we can finally start aggressively moving forward," said National Party chairman and founder, Joseph Karcher, in a press conference yesterday. The National Party, only four years old, was able to leap from zero seats to 111 in the past September 2773 general election.

"These results show that there are many people in Hulstria who share our views. They had previously given their votes to other parties such as the BZH, KHP, or FAP, but now that we've arrived, they can finally vote their conscience. We're absolutely thrilled, and will use other sway in the Imperial Diet to finally get some legislation passed. Our biggest issue has always been devolution, and now that we carry some electoral power, hopefully we can implement some real change in that area and restore local autonomy," Karcher said during the conference.

Devolution was also the reason why the Nationals agreed to endorse the CLA Governor-General candidate, Lukas Adenauer. "We were approached by the Christian Liberals. Basically, they said, 'we know our parties disagree on social and economic issues, but we're both dedicated to federalism. Let's work together on that, and you'll be able to see some real change.' Well, it was a tough decision. The party cabinet and myself held a vote. Suffice to say, it wasn't exactly a landslide. However, if the Christian Liberals back out of their campaign promise to us, don't expect us to endorse them ever again or even consider a coalition," explained Karcher. "Furthermore, while it's too early to make any announcements, we are indeed looking at putting our own candidate for the Governor-General next election year. It really depends on the response to the legislation we manage to pass this term."

"I'm just really ecstatic that someone who represents my views is finally speaking up," says Adam Holtzberger, a 21-year-old political science major at the University of Kien. "I mean, I'm all for Hulstrian traditionalism, but I don't want Hulstria to become too involved in foreign wars. I strongly support the monarchy, but that doesn't mean I think that the federal government should control every aspect of our lives. Different times and locations call for different policies. Devolution works."

When asked about the parallel rise of the Mormon Socialist Party, Karcher smiled. "While we disagree on many social and economic issues, we are not opposed to working together with the Mormons. Don't forget we both supported proposals regarding tariffs and medicinal cannabis. I think we can make some real progress in those areas."

The National Party has been accused of racism and religious bigotry since its rise, including public statements made by the BZH. National Party foreign affairs expert, John Westmoreland, responded to these remarks: "It's natural that a party whose significance is fading away to be upset. So they make alarmist statements. It's the dirty nature of politics. We here at the National Party are above petty bickering. We want to improve Hulstria, not divide it."

Sieuwerd Cuijpers - "Failings of a party should not suggest failure of the system"
Image
Sieuwerd Cuijpers at one of the series of informal meetings with reporters after the September elections

Kien, Hulstria - Finance Minister Sieuwerd Cuijpers quickly stepped into his new role as First Secretary of the Christian Liberals after the September elections and began his media tour to explain CLA electoral performances. A close friend and long-time ally of Lukas Adenauer, Mr. Cuijpers congratulated his party's leader, "I know he will carry on in the finest traditions of Governors-General past." He defended the Christian Liberals' electoral alliance with the Mormons and National Party, "there are points where our parties diverge, but we all unwaiveringly dedicated to federalism, Hulstrian tradition, a vibrant Hulstrian economy, and the modernization of the Eastern Territories. We are dedicated to responsible and effective government." Mr. Cuijpers explained to reporters that, "our three parties represent a broad spectrum of the Hulstrian political scene. We're an assortment of liberals, conservatives, and socialists. It's a microcosm of the Imperial Crownlands itself."

When asked about Dr. Stoltenberg's allegations of voter fraud, Mr. Cuijpers rejected them as baseless. "The BZH is mistaken about Hulstrian identity. While we are a nation of proud but humble traditionalists, we are not a conservative nation. Conservatives are a strong part of our society, but only one of many components. When given a real choice between conservatives, liberals, centrists, and those on the left time has proven that the center and center left is where the majority of Hulstrians reside." He attributed the BZH's failures to a lack of vision and leadership, "politics is more than a bit like business. If people aren't buying what you're selling there's a problem with your product and advertizing, not the market itself." He said that the, "failings of a party should not suggest failure of the system." Mr. Cuijpers pointed out that with more parties becoming active in the crownlands it was only natural that a "crowding out" effect would occur.

National Party publishes manifesto

Kien, Hulstria - National Party chairman Joseph Karcher has announced that the National Party will be releasing a series of editorials in the Greater Hulstrian Chronicle to "succinctly describe our party's ideological, philosophical, and political viewpoints."

"The articles will be short, but full of information. There's quite a lot of theory involved in the National Party's politics, and too many people get caught up with the stereotypes about us. We're certainly a different brand of conservatism and we want people to understand that. For readers interested in more in-depth discussions about the National Party's core beliefs, I have written a book On Nationalism and Freedom, which details most of the ideas behind the party's foundation. There's also Isolationism, Protectionism, and Capitalism by my colleague John Westmoreland. John will be providing the article discussing the theory behind the National Party's stance on international relations," Karcher told the Chronicle in an email.

What is nationalism?
by Joseph Karcher

I am a staunch nationalist. What does that mean though? Does it mean I ruthlessly support any foreign wars or acts of the Diet without any second thought because the government is the "representative" of the people? It certainly does not.

First, we need to define what a nation is in order to attribute a fervent love to it. A nation is the intersection between a region's culture, people, economy, and government. It is the representation of that region's core, moral values which have been developed over an extended period of time. That is why I consider myself to be a conservative and a nationalist. This nation's core values rest on morality and tradition. Our moral compass points towards freedom, moral decency, and isolationism. But, why isolationism if I come from an empire? It is simple: because isolationism is congruous with the needs of this nation and fits into our core values without destroying them. This is why liberalism or other progressive movements are undesirable. They seek to uproot our moral values, not apply them.

Now that we have a definition of a nation, I can move on towards what nationalism really is. It is true that I admire this government, but politics is not government. Politicians fill the government but they are not the government itself. Politicians steer the government, but in reality, the government is really just a social construct held together by a group of closely tied peoples. Politicians can be diametrically opposed to the core tenets of the government, yet still be elected. So, while I admire this government, I despise imperialist and corrupt politicians who wish to bind us to fascist regimes, uproot economic freedoms, and open our borders to an invasion from foreigners who will inevitably ravage our culture and way of life. Now, I am not a racist, nor do I believe immigrants intentionally seek to destroy our society's fabric, but in essence, that is what immigration does to a self-sufficient people. It takes away jobs, erodes our sense of national identity, and also produces negative results towards the immigrants who will undoubtedly be ridiculed and ostracized from society due to their inherent differences.

Next, I shall tackle the issue of the military. As I have stated, I am extremely anti-war and some would like to associate that stance with pacifism and liberalism - which is bogus. War is an awful thing detrimental to economy and society. It entangles us in further problems that will inevitably arise, takes the lives of thousands - even millions - of men, and causes massive inflation. It abridges our civil liberties - opponents of wars are branded as "unpatriotic." The objectives of the war do not matter - the politicians steering the war machine will always give noble causes - "to spread democracy and freedom" or to "bring glory and honor" to our nation. The first cause should be fallacious, even to impassioned liberals, and the second reason is actually an insult to our nation. Is our nation so devoid of honor and glory that we must initiate harmful wars in order to restore it? That's the most unpatriotic sentiment which I have ever heard. So, am I anti-military? Of course not! I admire the soldiers of the armed forces who join for a very good reason: to provide for the defense of the nation! Defending a nation is the most nationalistic thing that you can possibly do! Imperialism is not a defensive maneuver; it is an offensive one. "Humanitarian" operations are of the exact same character. They seek to falsely attribute war as a noble cause and disregard our own nation in favor of others. They violate sovereignty, liberty, and the gracious gift of life in the same stride with questionable agendas.

So I am a nationalist. I seek to improve this nation, not destroy it. That is the goal of the National Party. There are those in the Imperial Diet who will call us radicals and extremists. Let them. I love this country so much that I will do whatever possible to stop those who wish to undermine it. In order to make keep Hulstria a great nation, we need radicals. Hulstria needs the National Party. It's the only bulwark against totalitarianism and interventionism there truly is.

Kien, Hulstria - We spoke to foreign affairs expert of the Hulstrian National Party, John Westmoreland, who has agreed to allow us to publish an article of his detailing the National Party's philosophical and practical reasons to support non-interventionism -- conveniently coined as "isolationism."

"The article itself has a similar structure to Mr. Karcher's," Westmoreland said. "It's short, but covers most of the bases. There are much more in-depth papers on this subject, some published by myself, for readers interested. As Mr. Karcher mentioned, Isolationism, Protectionism, and Capitalism was written by me about 10 years ago. There's also The Costs of War by Hans Strauss, one of my professors at my alma mater, the University of Labsburg. Professor Strauss's work has a very deep theoretical basis with plenty of empirical evidence, so I would recommend the reader have some familiarity with political science and prominent ethical theories in general before diving into that. I would also suggest any interested readers read a little about general theories in economics before tackling the book as well since it assumes the basics (supply/demand, marginalism, etc)."

Isolationism
by John Westmoreland

This essay is meant to be an exposition on the National Party's stance on isolationism. My colleague, Mr. Karcher, has already partially addressed the issue in his latest essay dealing with nationalism but I will elaborate further on our stance and why we support it.

Isolationism is hinged on two basic concepts: protectionism and non-entanglement. Let me explain what I mean by these terms. By protectionism, I mean protecting our nation's economy by placing relatively high tariffs to encourage domestic markets to grow and develop. This extends to the workplace, where immigrants coming from poverty-stricken and war-ravaged nations have a tendency to take Hulstrian jobs for lower wages. By non-entanglement, I mean two basic principles: no permanent alliances and no foreign wars.

To explain these concepts in depth, I will first dissect protectionism. Some capitalists will falsely claim that free trade is beneficial to a nation. This is incredibly fallacious. First, what does free trade allow? The unregulated importation of foreign goods that compete with domestic goods. Now, I agree that capitalism flourishes with competition, but who benefits with this competition? Foreign companies and merchants! That's right - it provides no benefit whatsoever to Hulstrian businesses. Free trade encourages outsourcing, free trade discourages domestic development, free trade does not benefit Hulstria! Capitalism is a great system that must be harnessed; but it must be done so as to benefit the people of that particular region! That is why capitalism is superior to socialism - it will encourage domestic markets to compete with one another and result in two things: cheaper prices for consumers, and more profitable businesses. Tariffs will allow foreigners to trade with us, but they will have to pay if they want to import their goods - immensely. But to ensure the Hulstrian reaps these rewards we cannot allow a foreign invasion of our soil: immigration. Immigrants take jobs - it's that simple no matter what biased liberals will tell you. The jobs that drive our economy will be consumed by these foreigners who: 1.) do not know our language; 2.) do not know our culture; and 3.) do not know our political system. So we are allowing ignorant people to take our jobs! Not only that but they are diluting our culture. Hulstrian culture is a symbol of our national identity - if we lose that, then what is their left to cherish and revere about our people? Hulstrians have two things we need to keep: our liberty and our identity.

Non-entanglement was quite well-discussed in Mr. Karcher's tidbit on the military, but I will try and restate and add some more elaboration on that. Okay, now first let me address binding alliances. Alliances have a tendency to "drag" other nations into war, even if it does not involve them. Mutual defense treaties indeed strip us of our sovereignty and will force us to commit Hulstrian lives to fight for a cause that does not concern us. As discussed by Mr. Karcher, war is despicable... it strips us of our liberty and is ruinous to the consumer and federal budget. Humanitarianism uses propaganda to undermine free speech - anyone who would oh-so-dare oppose such a noble cause is attacked. I mean, after all, does that mean we hate freedom if we do not support other nations?! Never mind the fact that these operations often result in poverty in the war-ravaged nations that can occasionally be repared... by pouring so much darn money into needless 'nation-building' that our deficit increases astoundingly - and even then, it is incredibly unlikely that this will even succeed. International free trade agreements seek to regulate our trade policies and undermine our national sovereignty again.

So in conclusion, immigration, free trade, war, and permanent alliances are what threatens Greater Hulstria. So what exactly do we propose that we do? It is actually simple. Place high tariffs to protect industry; reinforce border control and impose a national origins quota system to severely limit immigration; and to withdraw from binding alliances and shy away from foreign wars. By doing this, we will be able to concentrate on bettering our society, by promoting "Protestant ethic" of self-sufficiency and dedication. We will be the epitome of a nation, something that could be emulated in other nations. And by doing that, we have helped the world. We have paved the altruistic way to a more peaceful world that lacks mass poverty and dependence on government intervention. Freedom will blossom. But is only if we are steadfast in our policies, and even if this isn't the result: so what? The job of the government is protect the people, not the world.

New PHA Cabinet

Postby TWoodWil » Fri Jun 19, 2009 10:02 pm

Christian Liberals back new cabinet
Image
Sieuwerd Cuijpers explained his party's position publicly to the press and in private meetings with FAP and KHP leaders.

Kien, Hulstria -- In what is sure to be a highly controversial move, the Christian Liberals decided to back a coalition cabinet proposed by the Mormon Socialist Party earlier this month. Citing his position as elected representative of all Hulstrians, party leader Lukas Adenauer recused himself from intra-party debate. A spokesman for Mr. Adenauer told the Chronicle, "the Governor-General will work with whatever cabinet is in place. He does not believe it is his position to interfere in the cabinet creation process." Among the positions the party will take in the new cabinet is the Staatsminister's office. Expected to be held by deputy leader Teresia Rademacher-Skjeggestad, the post will instead go to the moderate Sieuwerd Cuijpers. Sources within the CLA caucus say that the deputy leader was passed over because of her strained public relationship with opposition parties. A backbencher commented that, "Sieuwerd is the most capable and experienced person current in the cabinet. He has served under three different Staatsministers and has risen through the ranks each time." A former advisor to ex-Governor-General Tsukuda said, "If you were to look up the phrase 'safe pair of hands' in the dictionary Cuijpers would be definition number one. He is a consummate professional and patriot who has advanced on talent and honesty alone."

Shortly after voting for the bill Mr. Cuijpers met privately with Erik Chamberlain. He assured him that a new cabinet was not the party's "first choice" but KHP absenteeism and the proliferation of new parties were "burdensome and extraordinary pressures" on the existing cabinet process. He offered Mr. Chamberlain a position as Senior Advisor and Counselor to the Staatsminister to retain "all mainstream voices within the cabinet rooms." In public remarks Mr. Cuijpers stressed that the PHA cabinet was prelude to a new, long lasting cabinet. "The CLA is supporting the Pan-Hulstrian Alliance cabinet for two reasons - First, cabinet negotiations over the creation of an all-party cabinet could take years to come to fruition. Hulstria needs a functioning cabinet reflective of public will now, not in the future. Second, the transitional cabinet proposed by the FAP runs into the same problems as a permanent all-party cabinet. We'll spend one year to set up the transitional cabinet, then spend two years talking about the next cabinet." He continued, "the PHA cabinet allows us to move directly into talks about what the future cabinets in the Imperial Crownlands will look like. I know this isn't a perfect solution, and I know the first instinct of the FAP will be to wave the bloody shirt, but Christian Liberals remain committed to long-term cooperation and meaningfully inclusive cabinets." Mr. Cuijpers said that he hopes the Pan-Hulstrian Alliance will continue to function even after the current cabinet, "while we may not always be the majority, it's my hope that we will remain a broadly united faction like the FAP-KHP-BZH grouping."

Yoshiro Mizushima, newly promoted Foreign Minister, has said that the FAP Foreign Affairs Spokesperson will be named Deputy Minister. Mr. Mizushima said that they "will be welcomed to continue their role in the New Englia Conference as the representative of the Hulstrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs."

MSP to become Socialist Party of Greater Hulstria
Party aims to reflect growing diversity within the party

Kien, Hulstria: The Mormon Socialist Party today announced that it shall change its name to the Socialist Party of Greater Hulstria, in an effort to reflect the growing diversity and liberal platform of the party. "In no way are we abandoning the Mormon people," said party leader Margaret English at a press conference this afternoon. "We are simply embracing all people of this great nation." The party is hoping that this move will help it gain even more seats at the next general election, after its monumental victories in the previous contest. Its goal is to achieve the largest number of seats in the Imperial Diet.

Assassination Attempt on Marius Stoltenberg

Image

Labsburg, Budenlar -- Just an hour ago, BZH Chairman Marius Stoltenberg was fired upon during a speech in Labsburg near the BMW headquarters. Stoltenberg was holding a speech there to raise awareness for both his party, and his opposition allies; and also just to simply promote the values of the BZH. During the middle of the speech, the Chairman began to touch on the continually controversial actions of the CLA ruling coalition and their division of the government into factions. It was then during this part that shots rang out from above in a nearby tower. Four shots from a sniper rifle were fired at Stoltenberg, three missing, and one hitting him in the arm. Stoltenberg just as the second shot was fired was pushed by Vice Chairman Vittoria Cameron off the stage to protect Stoltenberg. In the process Cameron was hit by two of the bullets that missed Stoltenberg and is currently in critical condition at the regional hospital in Labsburg. Supporters in the crowd began to aid both Cameron and Stoltenberg and some fans ran into the building that the shots came from in search of the assassin. The said assassin was not found and is at large. Minutes after all of this police arrived and dispersed the crowd, took the party officials to the hospital, and cordoned off a two block area. Not much is currently known about the person who fired the shots, but it was obviously someone who disliked the BZH.

Objectivist Party Rises To Prominence

Image
Objectivist Led Protest in Kien

Kien, Hulstria- In response to the rising government control over many factors of the Hulstrian citizens' lives, and the long standing prominence of several parties over the democratic process of Hulstria, many citizens are taking to supporting a relatively new party, with a relatively new ideology in Hulstria. The Objectivist Party (Das Objektivismus Partei) is a Conservative-Libertarian party devoted to protecting the social and economic rights of every man, woman, and child in Hulstria. To achieve this goal, the OP fights against the powers of Socialism, Communism, Bigotry, Progressivism, and many other ideologies which are devoted to the destruction of the Hulstrian way of life. OP Chairman, Alexander Rand, II was quoted saying, "Under these current policies of this government, we are stealing from the future of Hulstria, in order to pay for the most bloated projects out there, healthcare, pharmaceutical drugs, farming, military, and many other areas, just to achieve 'a few more years' in office. This practice of theft is immoral and unethical, and our party is devoted to stopping it. Many in Kien seem to believe that it's not theft when the government does it, we're here to change this." Party Vice-President, Klaus Schlaback, M.D., a Neurosurgeon from Budenlar has been eyed as a possible candidate running in upcoming national elections and/or cabinet proposals, though the OP has dismissed any of these rumors. Dr. Schlaback currently maintains his position has a Neurosurgeon and works to "further the goals of the common man in Hulstria."

Westmoreland retires amidst health problems, Becker promoted to foreign affairs chair

Image
Westmoreland announces his resignation at a press conference discussing the 2776 election results

Labsburg, Budenlar - National Party foreign affairs expert John Westmoreland announced his resignation at a press conference with party chairman Joseph Karcher today in Budenlar's capital, Labsburg. Westmoreland cited "health reasons and a desire to spend more time with family" as the primary reasons for his resignation. The press conference served both as a rallying call for the party and a solemn farewell to an established member.

"John has been extremely helpful in shaping this party's platform and in helping strengthen our base," Joseph Karcher told reporters. "I'm saddened that he is leaving, but I empathize. Family comes first."

The Crownland of Budenlar has been the biggest support of the nascent National Party. The Nationals have won a plurality in the Crownland in the past two election seasons. Due to the party's success in Budenlar, Joseph Karcher has asked chairman of the Budenlar National Party Committee, Rudolf Becker, to fill the vacated foreign affairs position. Becker, a native of Flieder and former international relations professor at the University of Labsburg, accepted the position. "I am very gracious to have been offered this position. We've made so much headway in Budenlar and I hope to contribute to the expansion of our party on a national level," Becker said.

"Rudolf has the experience and aptitude to take this position," Mr. Karcher said at the conference, "I firmly believe he will continue Mr. Westmoreland's excellent work. I look forward to working with him more closely on these issues."

Mr. Becker nominated his deputy chairman of the Budenlar NP Committee, Erpo Macholz, for his former position. While a vote is still needed to confirm the nomination, Macholz is well-respected among National Party officials and is expected to win. "Mr. Macholz is extremely competent. He has spoken at every protest and press conference, and has helped author party policies in Budenlar. Budenlar is safe in his hands," Becker said.

Fascist Authority Party Becomes The Majority Party; Resurges With 59 Seat Gain
Image
"This Election Has Shown That Conservatism Is Not Dead, That The Fascist Authority Will Continue To March On" Said Chairman Chamberlain

Kien, Hulstria- The Fascist Authority Party, after a stunning loss of representation in the Imperial Diet 3 years ago and their ousting in the cabinet, resurged this year to become the majority party for the first time in about 40 years in the Imperial Crownlands of Greater Hulstria with a 59 seat gain; the FAP beat out the Socialist, National, Christian Liberal, and the Objectivism parties to grab onto the majority position in a crowded electoral arena. The Fascist Authority Party recieved over 43,000,000 million votes this election year, the highest turnout rate for the party since 2764, and won back the majority in the Crownland of Hulstria, a traditional conservative region that in 2773 went to the Christian Liberal Party; the Crownland of Mitrania was as well won by the Fascist Authority Party, the last time the FAP won the majority vote within that crownland was in 2741. Mitrania has always been an interest for FAP chairmans and after losing the crownland in 2744, then chairman Richard Wenceslas set up the "Take Back Mitrania" committee, a group that was created to soley deal with political issues within Mitrania, and act as a public relations wing for the Fascist Authority Party just for that crownland. The "Take Back Mitrania" was dumped as a committee when Xavier Gaston became chairman but after his humiliating impeachment, Erik Chamberlain decided tor revive the committee, and has recently poured a lot of party funds just for Mitrania in the past year; the interest in Mitrania over the past years may be to thank for the win for the Fascist Authority Party in this election. FAP-PAC, a political action committee publically supported (and funded) by the Fascist Authority Party, organized several pro-fascist rallies within the region on top of the work done by the TBM committee. Local FAP leaders in both Hulstria and Mitrania have said that the National Congress of the FAP, the governing council of the party, has put a lot of interest within those two crownlands, and that interest paid off overtly telling from the huge win the FAP saw in the elections. "The party leadership did not like the huge loss we saw in 2773," said one local Fascist Authority Party member. "Something had to be done or we were going to continue to see losses. Erik Chamberlain made the right choice in increasing activity in those crownlands and gaining support at the same time; when conservative parties put their minds to things, make a real effort, we come out on top. Liberals, socialists etc, what have you yes may have seen a boost in power over the past decades but this only a new trend going within the Imperial Crownlands, this generation is more pro-liberal than previous ones but that doesn't mean conservatism is dead by no means. Hulstria when asked to make the right choice on who should led this country, they pick conservatives".

Public outcry over the cabinet mess a few years ago is being looked at too as a factor in the massive seat gain for the Fascist Majority Party and their majority; a few years ago the former Mormon Socialist Party (now called just the Socialist Party of Greater Hulstria), the Hulstrian National Party, and a recluctant Christian Liberal Party signed onto a biased cabinet coalition, kicking out the Alliance for Greater Hulstria, the Imperial Hulstrian, and the Fascist Authority Parties in the government in the middle of the New Englian Conference; The National Party signed onto the cabinet almost instantly and the Christian Liberals signed on at the last minute with much FAP outrage. The Socialist Party of Greater Hulstria led the charge to oust the unified Royal Coalition to replace it with the secluded Pan-Hulstrian Coalition because various members of the Socialist Party said that because they saw a rapid seat gain in the Imperial Diet in the 2773 elections (getting over 151 seats), they were automatically able to join the cabinet, and despite FAP members calling for any new cabinet to be put in place until the return of the Imperial Hulstrian Party (who was absent because of their trip to an international event) the Socialist Party went ahead with the Pan-Hulstrian Cabinet anyway. Behind closed doors, before the Pan-Hulstrian Cabinet was ever put in place, FAP Chairman Erik Chamberlain assured the Socialists of a seat in the cabinet, and said the party would support a Socialist Party in hopes of further unity within the cabinet; Chairman Chamberlain was taken aback when the SPGH pushed for such a partisan cabinet when the two parties had good communications prior and expressed disappointment in the SPGH's lack of diplomacy and logic with concerns to the cabinet considering the Fascist Authority Party voted in approval of the re-admission of the mormon city of "Moroni", a city that the then Mormon Socialist Party had control over, back into the Eastern Territories.

Spokespersons for the Socialists said that the SPGH "could not wait anymore to be in the cabinet" and "deserved a position" in the cabinet because of their luck in the 2773 elections; they also said that cabinet placements should be "proportional" not experience/quality based and with the Socialists almost gaining a majority in the last time election, they said their party should control a sizeable portion of positions within the national government even if they were only 2 years old as a political group. Public disapproval of the move by those three parties who went ahead with the cabinet were high and Hulstrians were not ready for another major political battle; the Fascist Authority Party, though angry at the biased cabinet, did not make any big public remarks on the cabinet and instead referred to private discussions with other parties on the matter. Chamberlain decided to instead go on a legislative run in the Imperial Diet and over 60 proposals in Kien. In this years election, the three parties who went onto to form the Pan-Hulstrian cabinet, saw huge losses; the Christian Liberals saw 76 seats lost, the Socialists saw a 45 seat hit, and the Nationals a 20 loss. Fascist Authority Party Vice-Chairman Max Hansel said that his party is still "committeed to unity" and "unified cabinets" despite recent events. He also said that the FAP disapproval of the cabinet is more aimed towards the Socialist and National parties, not too much at the Christian Liberals; "We talked and we have a mutual understanding of the event," said the Vice-Chairman. "While we were very angry at first, we were not going to set fire to the Imperial Diet, and make Kien a battleground. They said that are as well open to new cabinet; we hope they follow through on this. With the return of the Imperial Hulstrian Party, the FAP is ready in getting back a unified government in Kien. The FAP is not one to waste time".

Interestingly enough, while the Hulstrian National, Socialist, and Christian Liberal Parties seem to be in a united cabinet, none of them endorsed eachother at this years election. Last time in 2773, the Nationals and the Socialists endorsed the Christian Liberals for Governor-General; this year was a very different story, Lukas Adenauer came in third place this year not even making it to the second round of voting for Governor-General this year, ending the Christian Liberal hold on the elected Head of State position. The Socialist and National party have made no public comments on the sudden move not to endorse former Governor-General Adenauer. The newly formed conservative party, the Objektivismus Partei, won over 122 seats in the Imperial Diet this election year, another showing of the resurgence of conservatism this year. Klaus Schlaback, the Governor-General candidate, beat out incumbent Lukas Adenauer in the first round with 4 million more votes than him, and beat out the Socialist candidate Elizabeth MacDonald in the second rounds with a stunning 62 million vote lead or 69 percent, one of the highest in Governor-General history. The Objektivismus Partei was endorsed by the Fascist Authority Party and Alliance for Greater Hulstria; a FAP spokesperson said the party "is ready to work with the Objektivismus Partei this year and interested in passing several pieces of legislation with them".

FAP Vice-Chairman Max Hansel (above) says while the FAP may be forgiving about the CLA, other parties may not be

Fascist Authority Party Chairman Erik Chamberlain made a speech shortly after the win in the elections at a rally outside the FAP National Headquarters in Kien in front of an enthusiastic crowd of FAP supporters. "You, Hulstrians around the Imperial Crownlands have shown in these elections that conservatism is not dead, that the Fascist Authority Party will continue to march on," declared Erik Chamberlain. "The FAP is back at the majority where we belong, where we do our finest; Spenzer Roderick stood up against the unjust Anti-Fascist Coalition, he led this party to over 20 years of untouched majority rule and Wolfgang Reinhardt held the majority during the New Englian Crisis, with both men accomplishing great things for not only their party but for their country. I will now be using this new majority to bring out new reform, social conservative legislation, efficent economic regulations, new trade pacts, new foreign affair projects, and will use our majority to reach out, not to scare, other political parties. The FAP is overtly committed to working with every party because I know the FAP can argee on at least one issue with every party represented in Kien; partisanship is the way of the past. The Fascist Authority Party, the Alliance for Greater Hulstria, and the Imperial Hulstrian Party have a strong pact with eachother, while we may not argee on every issue, or huddle everytime a problem comes up, when time calls we unite for a common cause. The FAP wants the same sort of pact with the rest of the Hulstrian political parties". Chamberlain continued on by saying that "Hulstria deserves a responsible government, a government working for the people rather than government working for self-interest; the Hulstrain deserves more than petty political fights. We can not risk our Monarchy, our way of life to unsustainable political rifts. Monarchy, Efficiency, Responsible Government; that is what Hulstria needs and is what Hulstria wants".

Tanemoto Apologizes To Allies Over Internal Hulstrian Problems; Says Hulstrian Absence At New Englian Conference "inexcusebale"

FAP Headquarters- At a press conference at the FAP National Headquarters last week, Fascist Authority Party Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tokuro Tanemoto, said that he "looks forward to getting back to foreign business" and "working with Hulstrian allies once again". Tanemoto, who was ousted as Foreign Affairs Minister in the biased Pan-Hulstrian Coalition, said "many projects and communications between my Foreign Affairs office in Kien had to be shut down or had to be delayed because of internal Hulstrian problems, mainly the cabinet mess, and I apologize". He said "I was working on expanding Hulstrian communications out to more countries and I was working with the Foreign Ministry of Kazulia to carry out an ambitious plan to create a new Dovani international organization, replacing the DTDO. That had to be put on delay and I apologize to the Kazulian Foreign Minister for having to delay such a project once again". Tanemoto also touched on the New Englian Conference, saying that the Hulstrian absence at the New Englian Conference during these past events at home are "inexcusebale" and that talks have slowed down since the Pan-Hulstrian cabinet arrived; he said such an absence does a great "diservice" to former Governor-General Wolfgang Reinhardt and countless other diplomats who worked "out of their way" for peace in the New Englian region. Tanemoto expressed hope about getting a unified cabinet in place in Hulstria, saying that "history has proven time and time again unity cabinets perform the best".

Tanemoto at the press conference took out of a recent news report from the "Zardic World Report", the national newspaper for the Federation of Zardugal; the Foreign Affairs of Zardugal, H. Leighton Kostandian IV, took note of the recent Fascist Authority Party majority win in the elections and gave praise to the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman, and the Head of Government candidate of the party. The Foreign Minister also took note of the ill-health of National Party foreign spokesman, John Westmoreland, who resigned just recently from the National Party.

Tanemoto responded by saying that "H. Leighton Kostandian IV is clearly an intelligent person and many of his views, as well his party's (the Federal-Republican Party), are on par with my own as well. To my knowledge, the Federal-Republican and the Fascist Authority Parties have good communications between eachother. Obviously being fellow members of the Axis, our paths cross many of times. We have great respect for one of another and I consider the Zardugal Federation as a friend of the Imperial Crownlands. When I assume the position of the Foreign Minister again, I will seek to expand our relationship as countries". Tanemoto has not said anything yet about proposing legislation on Hulstria joining the Axis, an organization is home to more than three major political parties in Hulstria including the Fascist Authority Party, but is rumored to be interested in the organization.
