New Person Thrown into LFA Leadership; LFA Sees Bad Election Outcome

Image

Kien, Hulstria -- Just weeks before the September elections, the LFA quickly and quietly threw in a new Chairman, and Vice Chairperson too. The move was extremely private and left voters wondering when they arrived at the polls in September. Instead of seeing Albert von Metzler as a choice for Governor-General from the LFA, there was a mysterious largely unknown name, David Clarke. Clarke, by Metzler supporters, has been referred to has a quick choice put in solely for the purpose of pleasing the other party's of Hulstria further.

The new Chairman was a Diet Member elected from Kuratha and is one of the few true LFA supporters of giving in to the political censorship being practiced by the ruling coalition. Liberal Fascist Justice Adviser Dagmar Stettin stated, "For the past year the other parties of Hulstria have focused on trying to change our party's beliefs instead of focusing on Hulstria. The job of the political party's are to advance Hulstria, not try to change all the other party's to beliefs they like instead of dislike. We stated long ago that the certain beliefs they were addressing weren't even possible in Greater Hulstria, but those comments were obviously ignored and they went on to promote bureaucracy and causing a simple coalition proposal to take over a year."

Stettin continued on to mention the new Chairman, "Our apparent new Chairman is David Clarke, and quite frankly not even I have heard that much of him. His election to the position was more of an appointment and against party regulations since the twelve party advisers and the five crownland party leaders didn't even get to vote him in. From what I've heard it was a sort of party-coup arranged by conformists in the party who blackmailed the soon to retire Albert von Metzler. Luckily, especially based on the recent election results, Clarke's chairmanship won't be long."

In the elections, the LFA lost over two dozen seats and David Clarke received under a quarter of the vote in the First Round and his endorsement of the KHP candidate proved worthless, leading to yet more CLA leadership in Kien.

In some brighter news, Chairman von Metzler shortly before his lose of his position, put forth the first major LFA bill in the Diet which has gone to vote this month after much debate over the Mormon-majority Independent City of Moroni. The bill, which is likely to pass, will bring Moroni back into Greater Hulstria and require the Governor-General to issue an apology for the actions of the Hulstrian Nationalist Party in the 2440s when Mormons were deported and stripped of citizenship from the Dual Monarchy of Hulstria/Gishoto.

Foreign Affairs Minister Says "Hulstria Is Ready"; New Englian Conference Takes Place Next Year
Image
"We Welcome Delegations To Kien" Says Tanemoto; "Progess Has Been Made In New Englia"

"It has been 50 years since the New Englian Crisis was solved and now we are back to see the outcome of the New Englian joint-rule government. Peace efforts made by Wolfgang Reinhardt and countless other delegates 50 years ago made stablity on this continent possible; I'm looking foward to the New Englian conferences very much," said Foreign Affairs Minister Tokuro Tanemoto in a press conference in Kien, Hulstria last week. This will be after 50 years after the signing of the Treaty of New Indrala, a treaty co-drafted by former Governor-General Wolfgang Reinhardt, who would eventually win a peace prize for his efforts in ending the New Englian Crisis. His great-grand son Volkhad Reinhardt will be attending the conference in honor of his late grandfather. "A lot of preparation and planning has been put into organizing this conference dating back 20 years; we have been in close contact with our northern neighbor Kazulia especially with setting up the New Englian Conference. I have got confirmation that all the original signers of the Treaty of New Indrala will be sending delegations to the conference right here in Kien next year. It has also been confirmed that New Englia will be sending their own delegation to the meeting as well. Hulstria is set with her delegation; our Staatsminister, Governor-General, and myself (Foreign Affairs Minister) will be the main delegating representing the Crownlands with fellow Fascist Authority Party member and party Minister of Finance Volkhad Reinhardt and the Imperial Comissioner of the Eastern Territories Anja Bendtsen will be rounding out our delegation. Again, Hulstria is ready to begin to start the conference, and Hulstria is ready to see what kind of road New Englia will take after 50 years of joint-rule". Tanemoto said that the Quadruple Alliance, the signatory nations of the Treaty of New Indrala (Hulstria, Kazulia, Kirlawa, and Sekowo) "will discuss a wide range of issues" and hopefully we'll also "talk about the future of not only New Englia" but "the Quadruple Alliance as well; the Foreign Affairs Minister has expressed hope that after New Englia decides its fate, whatever it may be, that the four nation Quadruple Alliance can continue on into something bigger than what it already is. Tanemoto has said beforehand that he wants "communications between our countries" to still "be close"; he said while Kazulia and Hulstria have a solid line of communication already, Tanemoto wants Hulstria to keep close to Kirlawa and Sekowo also.

Party Leader Margaret English After Adressing the Crowd at a Campaign Stop

The hopes of the Mormon Socialist Party (MSP) are high going into the next general election, party leader Margaret English says, despite defeats in numerous bills proposed to the Diet. "We will gain seats in the Diet, you be certain about that," English said today. The MSP is almost certain to gain some seats after winning five since being readmitted into the Imperial Crownlands, but the number of seats it will aquire depends on the electorate's response to the recent defeats of the party.

The party is focusing heavily on the Crownland of Kuratha, where it recieved all five of its seats at the last election.

Clarke Replaced, LFA Hoping to Regain Seats in September

Image

Kien, Hulstria -- After under two-years of leadership over the Liberal Fascist Alliance, David Clarke was removed by the Party Cabinet and replaced by the rising star in the party, Marius Stoltenberg. "Clarke was a do-nothing lazy leader and everyone knew it, he caused the party to lose in the Diet," stated Stoltenberg. Since Dr. Stoltenberg has taken the chairmanship he has been working to put the LFA back in the main political scene and make actual moves to change laws to fit his party's principles, unlike his predecessor. So far Chairman Stoltenberg has restricted tobacco use to ensure public health, legalized industrial hemp for its useful products, put forward policies to further protect the environment, and protect the private property of citizens. The only failure was an attempt to liberalize the government media into a publicly-funded cooperative, though support was only gained from the KHP and Mormon Socialists.

Within party affairs, Stoltenberg is considering removing the fascist name of the party as it was a title chosen in Talmoria for the ideology of the same name that was dominate in policy there. The Party Cabinet will vote later this month of the currently proposed name, Bündnis Zukunft Hulsterreich, which is expected to win. Starting in March 2773, Dr. Stoltenberg is planning to begin fierce campaigning for both the office of Governor-General and the party in general in hopes of raising awareness throughout all of Greater Hulstria. Last month the party opened an office in Moroni after its reentry into Hulstria and is presumed to be the only party other than the Mormon Socialists, who has presence in the city.

Adenauer promises renewed focus on Eastern Territories
Image
Governor-General Adenauer and Imperial Commissioner Bendtsen traveled to Moroni and other Eastern Territories cities to explain colonial reforms currently debated in the Diet.

Kien, Hulstria -- More twenty-two years after first introduced, the Imperial Diet is still debating amendments to the Colonial Affairs Act proposed by former Governor-General Naoki Tsukuda. Negotiations have stalled over the method of appointment for the Imperial Commissioner, but Governor-General Lukas Adenauer is hopeful for some movement on other areas of the bill. "There's still room for discussion in some areas, but no party has a problem with our reorganization of the Territories into eight Districts," Mr. Adenauer told members of the Representative Assembly meeting in Kien. He said that the Christian Liberals were prepared to support devolving certain powers to the new Districts. Together with the newly appointed Imperial Commissioner, Mr. Adenauer launched a tour of the Eastern Territories early this fall. Naoki Tsukuda joined the two in Moroni to attend official celebrations to mark the first visit by a Governor-General to the city in three hundred years. The eighty-five year old ex-Governor-General presented one of three original copies of the Reannexation of the Independent City of Moroni Act to city leaders.

After returning to Kien, Mr. Adenauer spoke to students at his alma mater, the University of Kien about the upcoming Second New Englian Conference. He said the diplomatic meeting was of "utmost importance," but emphasized that its role was strictly secondary to the mandated referendum to be held in New Englia. When asked about the purpose of the talks he responded that, "the Treaty of New Indrala requires a popular vote on the region's future, this conference's job is to faciliate that vote." Mr. Adenauer further reflected on the history of New Englia, "despite the danger and great potential for war, the New Englian Crisis was peacefully solved. Dovani showed itself to be a model for the rest of Terra, now we will finally prove ourselves. Nothing is too much," Mr. Adenauer told the crowd, "for nations committed to peace and prosperty." The Governor-General said he is going to "zealously represent consensus and Dovani stability" at the conference. Mrs. Bendtsen will attend the conference to provide advice and testimony on the state of security and development in the Eastern Territories and in New Englia.

When asked about upcoming elections, he quickly dimissed the subject, "The only campaign I am thinking about is my own," he said in reference to his Governor-General re-election campaign, "Mrs. Rademacher-Skjeggestad is doing her job as Deputy Leader and running the legislative campaign." Analyst predict that with the reestablishment of the Mormon Socialist Party and Hulstrian Nationals most current parties will see lose seats. Mr. Adenauer, though, is expected to retain his office. The Christian Liberals have held the Governor-Generalship for 31 of the past 34 years.

Foreign Minister Welcomes First Round of Delegates To New Englian Conference
Image
Foreign Ministers of Kazulia (L) and Hulstria (R) Shake Hands; Delegations Arrive In Kien For The Historic Conference

Kien, Hulstria- Limousine filled with delegates and armed guards flooded the entrances of the Imperial Hotel and Conference Center last week, the site of the New Englian Conference in Kien, Hulstria; the delegations from the countries of Kirlawa and Kazulia were the first to arrive at the Conference Center in Kien with Hulstrian Foreign Minister Tokuro Tanemoto greeting them. Tanemoto said that he is "delighted" to have government officials from both those countries attending the historic conference, including the Head of State of Kazulia, and that "both countries in the first conferences 50 years ago played a vital part, tensions between those two nations I believe have eased tremendously, and both delegations will contribute no doubt". The Foreign Minister then when on to say he was glad he was finally been able to meet the Kazulian Foreign Minister in person as the two countries Ministries, dating back to the leadership of Gerald von Keither, have been in close communications; Tanemoto said "we're both Dovani countries" and "we're both neighbors", that "Hulstria and Kazulia's territories make up the first and second largest territories respectively. Dovani countries need to stick together, Hulstria has been reaching out to nations like Vorona for example to bring them more into the Dovani fold. We're a unique continent and there is no need for rifts among our countries".

"Kirlawa from my view is one of the most humble nations Terra has right now," said Tokuro Tanemoto. "When faced with the New Englian Crisis, they choose diplomacy and not war, saving countless of lives in the process. They went along with the joint-rule government in New Englia and took part in the first New Englian Conferences with open arms and open ears; their respect for the diplomatic way is remarkable and I truly praise it. Their presence at these Conferences 50 years later only re-affirms their commitment to see New Englia have a prosperous future and they will not be disappointed". He continued on to say that "after these conferences are done, I'd like to see Hulstria and Kirlawa become closer in relations and communications"; he tossed up a suggestion that if Kirlawa was interested enough, that they could sign onto the "Greater Hulstria Free Trade Agreement" treaty that would allow them to freely trade and freely invest in Hulstrian markets to set the first stones for a "new relationship".

When asked about the recent comments made by the Governor-General on the conference, Tanemoto said "Adenauer knows perfectly well what the situtation is with the referendum and my party explained to him what was going to be done on the subject. Mr. Adenauer or the Christian Liberals in general, were not here for the first conferences, they do not fully know every detail or argeement was said at those meetings; it was an oral argeement to have this conference, a conference that is needed before New Englia does anything else". Tanemato continued by saying he didn't apperciate the Governor-General calling this conference "secondary" as it is "vital for nations to meet on this subject and to come an argeement on what New Englia's future will be". Tanemato then said that "New Englia will be represented at the conference, we're not silencing them, they'll be there".

CLA Deputy Leader warns Tanemoto
Image
The Governor-General and Foreign Minister shake hands before the conference begins

Kien, Hulstria - Vizestaatsminister Teresia Rademacher-Skjeggestad rebuked Foreign Minister Tanemoto for comments he recently made to reporters. She took issue with his attacks on Mr. Adenauer for his views on the conference. "Mr. Tanemoto falsely quoted the Governor-General as saying that he called the conference secondary. The truth is that neither he nor any CLA member has ever called the meeting secondary. We cannot be held responsible for words reporters use to write," she added that "at best Mr. Tanemoto was absentminded, at worst malicious." She further went on to say that any attempt by the Foreign Minister to politicize the conference will be met "with full and rigorous opposition [... t]his meeting is about facilitating the conditions necessary for the referendum, not about cheap political points."

Mrs. Rademacher-Skjeggestad laughed at other points raised by Mr. Tanemoto about the CLA's non-participation in the first conference, "It was fifty years ago, not a single person meeting here today participated in the original conference - I'm not even sure Tokuro Tanemoto had his driving license yet. This is a new conference with new faces to determine a new future."

Erik Chamberlain Calls Statements By Skjeggestad "Way Out Of Line" & "Childish"
Image
"She Is Picking A Fight Where There Isn't One" Says FAP Chairman

FAP Headquarters- Teresia Rademacher-Skjeggestad, the deputy leader of the Christian Liberal Party, the other day slammed and insulted the Foreign Affairs Minister of Greater Hulstria for his comments about the comments made by the Governor-General; Tokuro Tanemoto was taken aback by a remark made by the Governor-General about the conference being secondary to a referendum and the Foreign Minister was only trying to defend the conference saying it was argeed upon by the orginial signers to meet as it was vital for the fate of New Englia. A referendum is still going to take place within the territory and Tanemoto only said the Governor-General was fully aware of that situtation, which is true because the Fascist Authority Party did explain to the Christian Liberals about the relationship between the conference and the referendum; the Foreign Minister wanted to clear such concerns up to the wider population of Greater Hulstria and did not want Hulstrians to get the wrong impressions. Tanemoto was stating the obvious that the Christian Liberal Party was not represented or even a political party in Hulstria during the first New Englian Conferences; the Fascist Authority Party being at the conferences, has records and transcripts of the conference as did everyone who attended. Simple enough statement made by Tokuro Tanemoto, a statement he thought wouldn't have gained so much attention; apperantly Skjeggestad took offense to the statement made by Tanemoto and "warned" him about making such statements again, almost painting a mirror image of former CLA Deputy Leader Dietrich Falkenrath.

Skjeggestad said that Tanemoto was being "spiteful" and "absentminded" in addressing the Governor-General, claiming he was just saying that to "score political points"; it looks as if Skjeggestad is clearly mistaken between someone trying to undermine someone else and telling the truth. What Foreign Affairs Minister Tokuro Tanemoto said about the CLA knowing about the situtation of the referendum is true and nothing in his comments resembles political point "scoring"; the question should be is Mrs. Skjeggestad trying to score political points of herself? Trying to get spotlight by attacking the Foreign Minister? Skjeggestad also said that if Tanemoto tries to "politicize the conference" the Christian Liberals will pose opposition with might though there is absolutely zero evidence Tanemoto is trying to politicize anything; if Mr. Tanemoto was, why would he allow representatives from the Alliance for the Future of Hulstria and the Christian Liberal Party to attend the conference? Why isn't he calling for the ejection of the Christian Liberals in the New Englian Conference? How did Mrs. Skjeggestad come to a logic that the Foreign Minister was trying to attain such a goal? The CLA Deputy Leader then slammed Tanemoto for saying the Christian Liberals did not attend the first New Englian Conferences, laughing it off, possibly signaling denial or that she is insane. She said "no one here was at the first conference", then adding an a completely childish thing saying "Tanemoto didn't even have his drivers lisence then". Her point?

Fascist Authority Party members are confused by the statements made by the Christian Liberals Deputy Leader and the chairman of the party, Erik Chamberlain, said that the CLA Deputy Leader "spoke way out line", and "came out of nowhere picking a fight". In a press conference the chairman said that Skjeggestad "spoke before she had time to think of her words and has hurt not only the Foreign Minister but the party I chair. A warning? Mrs. Skjeggestad is in no position of authority to warn anybody and I'm disappointed she had to go out and borderline insult the Foreign Minister when everything Mr. Tanemato said on the referendum and the CLA not being in the first New Englian Conferences was true. Tanemoto said nothing untrue; Tanemoto has every right to talk about the conference and to inform people on what is going on in that conference because of what position he holds. The Fascist Authority Party has records, transcripts, and speeches of the first New Englian Conference, I don't know about the Christian Liberals but we here at the FAP keep those kinds of records so that members may look back on them and that we as a party keep informed on the subject. Mrs. Skjeggestad's statements were childish and I call on her to apologize; I thought we put in end to petty comments like what Skjeggestad said. She is picking a fight where there isn't none; I'm extremely disappointed".

"Election An Outrage"

Image

Kien, Hulstria - Yesterday's elections saw the Mormon Socialist Party rise by nearly one-hundred fifty seats and the Hulstrian National Party rise from nothing to being the third largest. "Both extremes have taken victory, the Mormons winning somehow in this conservative nation and the closed-minded Nationals winning over the populace that was thought to be smarter," Chairman Stoltenberg stated. "And, not only have we seen those outrageous results, but there's even going to be yet another term for the Christian Liberals. What has happened to democracy!? Are we ever going to see a Governor-General that is not from the Christian Liberal Alliance!? This election was filled with bogus results and surely something corrupt went on in the counting of the results. The prime example is the Mormons. Over forty-two million votes and I know there aren't that many socialists or Mormons in Hulstria."

Many angry BZH voters went to the streets outside the Imperial Diet following Dr. Stoltenberg's statement on the election. They felt just as Stoltenberg did over the results, incorrect numbers, and possible corruption in the newly elected members of the Diet. The BZH protest also attracted non-Christians who were angry over the victory of the Hulstrian National Party in becoming the third-largest party.

Towards the end of the Chairman's statement he said, "It will now only be so long before we see the end of the united cabinet that includes all party's. Its only so long before one the new majority party's proposes a new government coalition and we are then divided by government and opposition."

Deputy Party Leader Cameron Jones (L) Introducing Margaret English at Victory Rally in Kien

Kien, Greater Hulstria: The Mormon Socialist Party, in their second general election since the reentry of Moroni into Greater Hulstria, have taken a remarkable 151 seats in the Diet, compared to just 5 after the last general election, and taking in 20% of the popular vote. "This is a great day for us and a great day for the people of Greater Hulstria," said party leader Margaret English at a victory rally at Thatcher House, the party headquarters on the outskirts of Kien. "This vote confirms the population's desire for real equality and change and we shall give them that."

The results were far more positive than the party had estimated. While the party only had modest success in Bundenlar and Kuratha, it pulled off a remarkable number of victories in Hilgar and Mitrania, and achieved the most number of seats in the Hulstrian Crownland, with 60 seats, compared to the Christliche Liberalen Allianz, who came in second with 21.

The party hopes to form a coalition government with the other parties in the Diet in the coming weeks.

The party also responded to allegations of voting irregularities by the Bündnis Zukunft Hulsterreich. "It is obvious that the BZH, a party which has lost touch with the people, is trying to put the blame for their own failures on anyone but themselves," English said. "We hope the BZH stops this nonsense and joins us in building a better and stronger Hulstria. I can assure you and all the Hulstrian people that these elections were free, fair, and represent the wishes of the people."
