Border Crisis - Kunihito Ethnics Attempt To Flee Hulstria Into Neighbouring Ostland


Tens of thousands of Gao-Showan families are attempting to flee the Imperial Crownlands of Hulstria after hardline policies stripped them of their citizens' rights and religions.

Many of the displaced people - predominantly Kunihito - are now camped on the long border with Ostland hoping they will be allowed to enter and start new lives there.

The potential humanitarian crisis has been made worse by the deadly Wolfsheim Bacterial Infection, which has spread from Ostland into much of the third world. It is anticipated that it will not be long before it spreads to the large camps where sanitation is already said to be poor at best.

Hulstrian Reichskanzler Leopold Nimitz has adamantly denied driving Kunihito families out of their homes despite government policies which have made practising their most popular religions illegal and branding them 'Class C' citizens in their own country.

Herr Nimitz has also gone on the record to say that the Wolfsheim Bacterial Infection is an "oriental disease" and has blamed Gao Showan people and their low adherence to hygiene for its spread.

It is not known at this stage if the Ostland government will allow the mass numbers of people camped on its borders to enter, especially with the Wolfsheim epidemic to deal with.

Government: We Will Protect Hulstria

Despite the Dorvik and Hulstria Co-Operation Treaty failing to secure a 2/3 majority in the State Council, the government has announced it will protect it from a nuclear threat anyway. With the Defence Minister, Foreign Minister and the President's agreement, there is no need for a vote in the Council: if anyone attacks Hulstria with a nuclear weapon, as they fear, Dorvik will strike back with one too. In effect, striking Hulstria is striking Dorvik.

"All voting against that treaty did is lose us the economical benefits," said Defence Minister Gotthard Kampf. "We will not let millions die for the sake of petty politics. We built our bombs to protect peace, and if we must use them so soon to do so, so be it. Hopefully the opponent is wise enough not to attack, else we shall respond in full force. Take this as a stern warning."

As the Minister for Health reveals an attempt to blackmail and threaten her into supporting the Dorvik-Hulstria Co-Operation Treaty, blaming Hulstria, Gotthard Kampf, NP Deputy Leader and Minister for Defence, has announced that government is ready to respond to an international threat to democracy if the President agrees. They also called for a Secret Service investigation, but warned against acting "before an official investigation has taken place."

HULSTRO-MIKUNI LANGUAGE TO BE BANNED IN LESS THAN THREE YEARS

A complete ban on the use of the Hulstro-Mikun Language has been announced by the government.

The law, which applies to both spoken and written forms of the language, will come into effect on January 1, 4300 - just over two and a half years away.

The language is a hybrid of Dundorfian and Kunikata, and is one of the three most popular within the Crownlands. However, the hard line government has frowned on its use due to the fact it helps to "dilute" Hulstrian ethnic culture. Many top officials refer to it as the 'Bastard Tongue'.

Following an earlier law formally making Dundorfian the primary and official language of the state, the government have now decided to move one step further.

Reichskanzler Leopold Nimitz said: "The Government has decided that use of the Hulstro-Mikun language is extremely divisive, perpetuates seditious thoughts and hampers the nation's vision to create a Greater Hulstrian Reich based around Hulstrian ethnicity and culture and the Dundorfian language.

"This ban applies to the spoken word, books, newspapers, road signs, advertising, social media and many more strands.

"To offer sufficient transition, the law will come into effect from January 1, 4300. After that date anyone in breach of the law will be subject to prosecution under the Hulstrian Sedition Act, which, as a capital crime, is punishable by long-term imprisonment or death."

Herr Nimitz added: "As a government that looks after the wellbeing of our people, all those who speak the bastardised language as their primary tongue will be offered an education programme to learn Dundorfian."

RATIONING TO BE INTRODUCED FOR CLASS C CITIZENS FOLLOWING THREAT OF TRADE EMBARGOES

Reichskanzler Leopold Nimitz has announced that Class C citizens will be strictly rationed following plans by two major powers to place trade embargoes on the nation.

He said the move was necessary after both Istalia and Dorvik announced trade bans on the Crownlands.

Herr Nimitz said only Class C citizens - predominantly Gao Showan non Dundorfian speakers - would be affected.

The rationing will put severe restrictions on meat, alcohol, and many imported goods. Basics such as bread and fruit will also have a weekly limit.

Nimitz said: "These inexplicable trade embargoes will have no effect on Class A and B citizens at all. Class Cs will be restricted in what they can buy.

"If the desired effect of these embargoes is to help Gao Showan ethnics, then they are sadly misguided."

Anna Strauss Finally Withdraws Nuclear Protection for Hulstria

After Hulstria attempted to impede on a World Congress humanitarian effort in Hulstrian controlled lands, President Anna Strauss has finally removed nuclear protection for the nation, and declared that it will meet with force any attempt to stop humanitarian aid entering the region. In addition, she has declared her support for a recent motion in the Council to allow refugees from the Ostland into Dorvik. This is a huge change from her previous policy, and comes as she proposes the removal of Hulstrian diplomats, immigration regulations, and an embargo on trade with Hulstria for Dorvish companies to the Council. Indeed, this could even lead to war.

Mass Military Mobilisation as Hulstria Prepares to Defend Its Borders

All Hulstrian military reserves (200,000) have been called up as the country prepares for the threat of war for the second time in three decades.

The 275,000 personnel of the Reichsheer have also been fully mobilised and are being deployed to strategic locations within Hulstria as well as to defend the long Ostland border. Both the Reichsmarine and Reichs Luftwaffe - shared forces with neighbouring Sekowo under a military co-operation pact - are also on full alert.

The navy flagship, The RM Vendetta - an air defence frigate - and its support vessels are now patrolling off the coast of Hulstria to deter any attempt at an amphibious approach.

It follows diplomatic hostilities in the World Congress which led to Imperial Reichskanzler Leopold Nimitz stating that any attempt to send international missions into Ostland without Hulstria's express permission will be seen as an act of aggression.

Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Klaus Breslov confirmed that two armoured divisions and a mechanised infantry division plus support brigades (approximately 47,000 personnel) had now been deployed in Ostland to prevent incursions and to work with local military leader to ensure law and order in the disease-infested capital Wolfsheim. Other troops were continuing to carry out a controversial settlement burning programme to stop the spread of the virulent viral infection.

In Hulstria, brigades have been deployed to strategic locations to defend against possible attack. And under a return to Operation Human Shield, last employed in the war with Kazulia, Class C citizens along with foreigners currently held in the country have been deployed to key locations to deter air raids and bombing initiatives.

Reichskanzler Nimitz, in a televised address to the people of Hulstria, said: "The meddling of the Security Council in our affairs will not be tolerated any longer. The arrogance of Istalia and Hutori knows no bounds and we are disappointed the government in Dorvik has fallen for their rhetoric. These people are willing to move in to Ostland and trample all over the good work we have done in containing the Oriental disease, not just for ourselves but for neighbouring Sekowo, Kazulia and Drania. Where were they two years ago when help was needed? Still pontificating and procrastinating in the age-old way.

"Yet they are jealous that we have moved in and are looking to improve the situation for all people in what was once a vital part of Greater Hulstria and area and a people that we care for greatly. We have told World Congress categorically that any attempt to send troops or other personnel into Ostland must come with our approval. Any other attempt will be seen as an act of aggression against a nation that asked for our protection.

"We will not back down from this. Our defensive military protocols are in fine shape after we learned much from the war with Kazulia. Let us see what spine this Security Council has."

PREPARING A NATION: OSTLAND ARMY PUT THROUGH ITS PACES BY HULSTRIA


Ostland's armed forces training from their Hulstrian counterparts ahead of potential conflict.

The Hulstrian Reichsheer has set about training Ostland's depleted army ahead of potential war with the international community.

Between 40,000 and 50,000 Imperial Crownlands troops are now believed to be deployed in Ostland, manning borders and planning for an imminent invasion, backed by the Imperial airforce. However it has now been announced that the 25,000-strong army of Ostland is being drilled and re-armed ready to defend their own sovereignty.

The troops are of questionable quality and with plague affecting many people in the country, some may yet fall foul to the disease. However, Commander of the Hulstrian Force in Ostland - Lieutenant-General Maximilian Strauber - has said that the local troops were very keen to join the fight.

Gen. Strauber said: "It is clear that Ostland has rejected the international community's desire to send their forces here. So these patriotic people want to fight. They will fight to the death if needs be and we are equipping them with the training and equipment to be a fighting force fit to inflict significant damage to the enemy. They are learning how to dig in, use more sophisticated weaponry and the necessity for proper command and control.

"Having worked with them for some weeks, I can report they are fanatically passionate about their country and find it bizarre that larger nations from so far away have taken an interest in their country - but they are certainly not afraid. They accept Hulstria as their friend and that we were invited here but they also know potential enemies are looming on the horizon and want to be ready to react."

PLAGUE VICTIMS USED TO EXTEND OPERATON HUMAN SHIELD AS KAZULIA GEARS UP TO JOIN ALLIES



People from Ostland townships struck by the plague being transported towards the Kazulian border - many will be infected and carrying the virus.


In a move that is set to cause further international condemnation, the Hulstrian Reichskanzler Leopold Nimitz has ordered the transport of living plague victims and their families to temporary camps at the border between Ostland and old adversary Kazulia.

It comes after a change of government in Kazulia which is likely to lead to Kingdom Kongeforsvar troops joining the international community's task force lining up against the Crownlands.

Herr Nimitz has also ordered two more divisions to move forward to the Ostland-Kazulia border - now believed to be the line of attack the International allies will use, increasing the number of Hulstrian troops in the third world nation to more than 60,000 and possibly close to 70,000.

It is believed that many Kazulian humanitarian staff caught up in Ostland have also been moved forward to the potential front line as part of Hulstria's ultra-controversial Operation Human Shield.

Experts believe moving plague victims to the border is not only a psychological strategy but would hamper the advance of any allied force who could be susceptible to the virulent disease which, as yet, has no cure. The belief is that the victims would be released from camps if the allies advanced and to cover a Hulstrian withdrawal.

Chancellor Nimitz said: "We are beyond incandescent that Kazulia has turned its back on 30 years of peace and looks set to, once again illegally attempt to invade out territory and that of our protectorate.

"We will take all measures to ensure this does not happen. Our troops learned from our last encounters, our defensive strategies are sound and with the extension of Operation Human Shield we will stop their force targeting our tactical and strategic sites."
