Razamas Return...Once Again
May 18, 4134

Jakania's thrice reigning dynasty the al-Razama clan have returned once again, ending 26 years of self exile in Jelbania. The clan accompanied by around seven thousand Grakkrt clan warriors and adventurers, entered Jakania which as ever was mired in governmentless chaos. They entered the capital Dokuz unchallenged and the former Sultan Umar I's only son Prince Yahya now a man of 36 was proclaimed Sultan and Bearer of the Sword of Mehmed I. His mother had him wed his first cousin, her niece Mri Juhnsrmko Grakkrt and has five children, two of them sons.

The Razama left the country in a hurry following the victory of republicans in the 4108 elections and were hosted in the Sultan's wife Jesmin's homeland, the then Ahmadi Republic of Jelbania. The old Sultan Umar I died just a few months later in August of the same year. Taking advantage of her home advantage, Sultana Jesmin took control of the clan and proclaimed her son Yahya, Sultan and herself Regent of the sultanate-in-exile. She came the Valide Sultan (mother of the Sultan) and it appears her son remains under her control. The Sultan's first act was to hand over the responsibilities of state to the energetic 59 year old Valide, who accepted and shall informally lead the Jakanian government which is composed entirely of senior princes of the ever expanding clan. The mechanics of exercising power should prove challenging for the Valide not only due to the myriad challenges facing her Ministers but also the seclusion traditionally demanded of female members of the conservative Razama clan.

State of Siege Declared In Jakania
April 4, 4135

Image
Troops in central Dokuz

Sultan Yayha I has declared a state of siege over Razamid Jakania. The move comes after incessant urging by his mother the Valide Sultan Jesmin Grakkrt. The Valide who serves as the unofficial head of government apparently convinced her son that the measure would only last temporarily as Razamid forces attempt to restore stability over the country. The Valide and her ministers have spent much of the past year brokering alliances with Turjak tribal militias in the east, attempting to restore Jakania's oil production and winning public favour with the re-introduction of modest welfare benefits. The measure will also have added benefit of suppressing much expression of dissent. The Razamids appear to have departed from their gentler approach during their previous restoration and favour a more forceful approach.

Razamid- Al Ghandour Pact
June 3, 4136

Jakania has become significantly safer and more stable in the past year. At first glance, one will credit the firm security policies of the Valide Sultan and her Viziers. Those with greater insight in Jakanian public affairs will point to the so called Razamid-al Ghandour Pact. The ruling dynasty has managed to form an alliance with the most important religious family in the country - the al-Ghandours. The alliance between the Razama, popular in the Turjak east and the al-Ghandours, hugely powerful in the largely Majatran west has quieted down the ever restive western parts of Jakania. Western Jakania has remained unstable since the epic Coburan-Deltarianconfrontation there in the late 40th century. The al-Ghandours are descendants of the famous Dai'i Ibrahim al-Ghandour who roused the westerners into stiff resistance against the brutal Deltarian occupation and march through the north west during the first Razamid restoration. They also claim to be Seyyeds - descendants of the Prophet Ahmad, something which the Razamas themselves also claim.

The alliance has been sealed by the naming of the head of the al-Ghandour family, Sheikh Hamid as the inaugural holder of the newly created position of Grand Mufti of Jakania. He and his brother Sheikh Ismail will join the Sultan's Council of Viziers, with the Grand Mufti overseeing education and Sheikh Ismail in charge of enforcing Ahmadi religious law in the Department of Justice. The Sultan's eldest son and presumptive heir, Prince Selim is to be betrothed to a daughter of the Grand Mufti while the prelate's own son will wed a daughter of the Sultan. The Grand Mufti has gotten to work issuing a fatwa declaring any resistance or protests against the ruling family to be influenced by the Devil and his eternal mischief and thus haram.

New Political Party Rises in Jakania, Begins Difficult Climb Towards National Politics

News Report from the Voice and Vision of the Jakanian State©

In the first couple years of Jakania's ongoing transition from a monarchy under the royal House of Sofuoglu into a more republican system after the Sofuoglu Party's bitter defeat from the Republican People's Party and the Fanatical Solidarity Party in the latest elections, the atmosphere of the political climate in the nation has been changing to fit its more democratic way of life. Since the summer of 4222, there have been multiple changes in the cabinet, political structure, national budget, and even early elections occurring less than a year after the formation of the new republic. The third member of the Majatran Revolutionary Socialist Federation (MRSF) are currently learning to grow and succeed in the newest of the nations' many attempts of creating a stable republic. This attempt may prove to even be more difficult with one of the three main parties of Jakania still being ran by the House of Sofuoglu and will likely be looking to rule as king again.

The other two parties might possibly find an ally in a new political movement rising up and slowly growing in the region of Hufata, one inspired by the past as well as their current neighbors. The League of Socialist Vanguards (or the Jakanian Vanguards as a short handle of their political name) was founded over the summer this year, two years after the founding of the new Republic by a former professor of an university in the nation's capital, Denk Özer. Mainly teaching courses in Majatran history, it's likely not difficult to guess that the professor has a positive view of the rise of Vanguardism and Jalalism that began with Jalal Al-e-Ahamd in Badara after a peaceful overthrowing of the House of Al-Majali, which the royal family later came to back the dictator over the course of his astonishing century plus reign over Badara. Jalal's reign as the leader of the revolution led the island nation to becoming a major player in the world stage for decades. The story of a man who went from being a lowly steel worker to someone who changed the course of history as the Eternal Guide of the Badaran people has always been a hot topic of discussion, whether during his rise to people and his many years as the ruler of the Vanguardship and after his death whether the violent rise of Jalaism in Dranland following his death or the legacy of Vanguard Communism which we only have to look towards our neighbors in Kalopia to see it's still alive and well on the continent.

"Jalal will always be a controversial figure in Terran history," Özer once stated in an university newspaper, "as most people in his position in history usually are. On one hand, you can't deny the militaristic tendencies that comes with the Vanguard ideology and that during his reign Badara has taken part in a lot of the continental conflicts that plagued the times. On the other hand, the fact that he's one of few people in Badaran history that overthrew their government through democratic means rather than bloodshed, to me at least, proves that Jalal was genuine about wanting to raise the people of Badara up from where they were before he turned the nation into a major player in Terran politics during one of the more... peculiar times in the planet's long history. Maybe that's why he found so much success in the world during his life, because he was just as interesting and peculiar as the world around him became."

As we previously stated, you can tell that Professor Ozer has some positive feelings towards the dictator's long and unusual reign as the Eternal Guide of the Revolution. That's likely why he has since founded and became the candidate for President of the Republic for his new Socialist Vanguards. The return of Vanguardism in the continent isn't anything new. As mentioned before, Kalopia as become a Vanguardship under the League of Communist Vanguards. The Communist Vanguards were founded in 4205 as a counter movement against the usually capitalist outlook of Kalopia. Along with the League of Social Democratic Vanguards, which has been founded a fair bit more recently, the Communist Vanguards has created the Union of Kalopian Revolutionary Socialist Vanguardships with the goal of spreading Vanguardism once again across the continent. This goal seems to line up with Denk Özer, given him founding a Vanguardist party in Jakania. However, founding a political party is easy. Having that party being accepted in the national stage is harder.

New Political Party Finds Out That Being Accepted into National Politics Wasn't as Hard as Previously Predicted

News Report from the Voice and Vision of the Jakanian State©

The League of Socialist Vanguards were expecting a bit more bumps on the road towards being a part of the national stage of politics. Actually, they expected a bump in general. Or, at least a fallen tree branch on the road or maybe a deer walking a bit too close to the road so you have to slow down and keep your eyes on the deer to make sure the deer doesn't just jump in front of the car because deer do that sometimes. There were no bumps, branches, nor deer in their road however. Far front it. Despite being a party formed less than half a year ago and having zero seats in Grand National Assembly, the Jakanian Vanguards have been accepted and even encouraged to be a part of the Assembly during bill voting and law making, and even as far as being able to vote in spirit among the laws being put in place.

This alone took Denk Özer by shock. "I thought that I would have to like, organize marches or maybe stage some public speaking sessions in the city. Maybe in a venue or just on the street standing on a metaphorical soapbox. Hell, a literal soapbox if I had to. Even some form of resistance was kind of, thought to occur at some point or another?" the professor replied to a reporter, taken aback and somewhat confused by it all. "But no, I get a direct call from one of the head guys for the Republican People's Party. He welcomed us to the political stage and we just, started talking. Before I knew it, here we are."

And what a place for the Socialist Vanguards to be. Not only have they been welcomed into the fold of Jakanian politics, but they are now members of the national cabinet. Allow me to repeat myself, because we here at the Voice and Vision of the Jakanian State need to realize this as much as you do. A political party formed 4 months ago and holding no seats in the Assembly now has positions in the national cabinet. And these aren't minor positions that parties offer other parties to get people to form a coalition with them to help pass a new cabinet. The Jakanian Vanguards now hold the seats of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Finance as well as Agriculture (who the new Minister of Food and Agriculture, Jakanian-Kalopian Tito Georgopoulos, has the nickname of 'Thrash Maximum' to which we don't know why or what that means but kind of want to know) before holding a single seat in the Grand National Assembly.

Don't you just love politics sometimes? Because I bet the Jakanian Vanguards are loving it right now.
