Jakania's President & Populace Ignore The Trigunian's Message

President John Bennett has slammed the newly elected President of Trigunina for his recent comments where he has said "I do intend of speaking with the President of Deltaria on Trade & Tightening Military Relations"

We spoke to John Bennett about this:

"Mr President, Thank you for being here, is Trigunia right about it's comments?"

"Do you think they're right? They're planning to tighten their relationship with Deltaria who cannot even give the people of their country the most basic freedom. It shows how disrespectful these officials are. Our populace had been enslaved by the Deltarians and the Triguninas call for diplomacy? We've had plenty of time for diplomacy. I sent a letter to them around 2 months ago and it was ignored.

The news there is clearly biased toward Jakania in their anti Union message they have displayed.

"We did not seek to threaten them as we believed that if they wish to run their nation as they did, let it be" what kind of comment is that to make on the selling and using of humans! The government's comments has ruined a potential relationship between us.

I'm sorry I cannot do this... these people are slavery sympathisers and gave angered the Jakanian population."

Clearly this has really affected the President as well as his cabinet, all of whom strongly believe in the end of slavery.

Jakania keeps the Democratic Party (DP)

The election was great for the DP. It secured their leadership and showed the faith of the Jakanian people. The party under the leadership of John Bennett & Lauren Bolton has so far went almost unchallenged with the Liberty Revolution Party struggling to reach out to the people. The LRP won only 24,000, a very small amount compared to the total votes cast of around 12,000,000. In Borenu the LRP got just over 100 votes, their lowest of all regions.

This is not all great news for the country or the DP though, turnout was a horrific 16%. This could be really bad for the DP considering they created the party in an attempt to increase democracy, which so far hasn't happened. In 6 years only one other party was founded & voting turnout decreased.

The future of Jakania will continue to be in the hands of the DP for now & the people must only hope that the party will not corrupt itself or collapse.

Jakania's Future

We talked to President John Bennett of the Democratic Party about vision for the future of Jakania. His main aims set out was a development in the economy & a long term project a change in electrical generation.


Mr President, since Jakania gained it's independence the country has struggled with economic growth, how are you going to improve this?

Well, Joanna Goldsmith is and will continue to work hard to try and work with other nations to develop beneficial trade deals. We will be very soon going into talks with the Stillmanist Republic of Lourenne & hopefully a very developed nation such as Hutori or Luthori. We're also part of the International Terran Union which I and my cabinet managed to negotiate a good deal on (SEE: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=476107) in which Jakania maintains it's sovereignty & receives funding to help with the nations development.

Their is rumours in the media that your party is contemplating as a manifesto policy to completely change the electrical generation of Jakania, can you share some information on this?

I sure can. The plan would include large research grants for scientists to research into the areas of nuclear, likely fission, and hydrogen power generation. This wolud have to be a long term plan in which we would have researched these areas as much as possible to make sure the energy produced is produced as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. It would help the environment and potentially contribute a lot to Jakania's economy.

The new party, the people's socialist movement has recently criticised your government saying "Our country is in a bad state, time to give the people the choice". Do you accept this?

No I certainly do not, our party is based on the beliefs of it's members. We are not dictators and we encourage other parties to be founded. Currently no party has managed to question our leadership as we have been very transpartent and democratic, without the need of opposition. Jakania has improved a lot since we came to power, we have worked tirelessly to work through all legislation and altering it to make sure it keeps Jakania safe and protects the nations interests.

So your party is going to oppose an early election? Surely being elected with a turnout of 16% is not democracy.

Look, as President I cannot force people to vote. The early election would currently be silly as the party has not had the time to properly create their stances. The current policy on cabinets is fair as the largest party would have the most votes and should seek to form a cabinet that best serves the people who voted them in.

Kobra Corp ‘Enters’ Jakania

The Coburan mega mining corporation Kobra Corp has ‘entered’ Jakania with a force of some 40,000 men. The invasion comes after a century of almost uninterrupted anarchy in Jakania since the country was the canvass for not one but two wars – the Razamid’s attempted conquest in the 3990’s which coincided with the brutal Deltarian-Coburan war which ravaged much of western Jakania. Many parts of the country exist in a state which only be described as state collapse. The previous interim government had control over just the capital Nishka and surrounding areas.

For the purposes of the Jakanian enterprise, Kobra Corp created a new subsidiary company the so called ‘South Majatran Company to begin colonizing the areas that are already under the Company’s control, particularly the far western province of Borenu. Borenu has a significant Coburan Majatran minority and the Company hopes to base its expansion on this Tedros Abraha IV has repeatedly sought to assure nervous shareholders that the enterprise is worth it – it is rumoured that the company has invested around 5 billion LOD, hoping to get enormous return once it seizes the most important Jakanian oil fields which lie in the central parts of the country.

SMC seizes Azmar Field
November 3, 4086

The South Majatran Company's militia has scored a major victory in its mission to conquer and colonise Jakania. The militia won control of the Azmar oil field, easily dispersing a handful of defenders loyal to the country's interim Government. The Azmar oil fiwld, located in sout central Jakania is by far the largest in Jakania and one of the largest in Terra, with estimated reserves of anywhere between 25 and 40 billion barrels. At full production, it produces about three fifths of the country's oil.

The SMC announced that it would "immediately begin drilling", a move that will restore confidence among shareholders and other silent supporters of the colonial enterprise. The SMC shares recorded a record 91% gain on Wednesday. The political effects of the victory are just as sweet as the economic ones. Seizing the only great economic resource in Jakania establishes the SMC as the only true hegemon in the South Majatran country. It now controls about three fifths of the country's territory and many believe that the colonial war of conquest is in effect at an end. Only the Turjak tribal areas of the east remain untouched but these have historically accepted 'gifts' from would be conquerors in exchange for allegiance and the SMC's likely now a financial position to achieve this.

Settlement Reached With The Eastern Tribes
November 26, 4087

The South Majatran Company (SMC) has announced the reaching of a settlement with the east Jakanian Turjak tribes and several other small political forces in the east. East Jakania is composed of the two easternmost provinces and has considerable oil deposits. After conquering the western three-fifths of the country the SMC wished to reach an easy and quiet settlement with the easterners whereby they would submit and the SMC would pay the tribal chieftains and politicians generous allowance. About five dozen Turjak beys (chiefs) met with the SMC patriarch Executive Chairman Tedros Abraha IV and several company directors in Tedrossia.

The SMC agreed to pay each bey an annual pension of around 200,000 LOD, another 50,000 LOD for 'administrative costs' and 5% of all oil and mining profits in the bey's locality to the tribal executive. The SMC also agreed to allow the tribal executives a lot of say on culture and social issues. The agreement was sealed with marriages, with three Abrahas wedding daughters of some of the beys. Company shares shot up by 35% on the day the agreement was announced and it seems the SMC now has full control of Jakania.

The Trillion LOD Family

The latest political masterstroke by the SMC has vastly increased the wealth of the SMC's leading family the Abrahas of Domale, Cobura. The family of Executive Chairman Tedros Abraha IV which owns 63% of shares in the SMC and nearly 80% of Kobra Corp, has been crowned the wealthiest family in Terra by high society mag Majatran Fortune, controlling a total estimated fortune of about 800 billion LOD. The fortune is comprised of a majority share of Jakania's gigantic oil reserves (through the SMC) and majority ownership of several mines in Cobura, particulary in the homeland nome of Domale.

Cobura To Take Over The Colony
March 27, 4092

The Kingdom of Cobura is to assume overall control over the South Majatran Colony in September 4092. This will end about 7 years of company rule, with the South Majatran Company finally giving up on what has been a very unprofitable enterprise in recent years. Worries over communist Deltaria and to some extent, Ahmadist Jelbania have driven Company stocks sharply down while the military costs of patrolling the long Jakanian-Deltaria border have increased sharply.

Thus Sharba (Cobura) will send a Khedive(Viceroy) in the person of Prince Psamtik Saksoure, a junior member of the reigning dynasty. The Colony is to also gain responsible government of sorts, with a new 95 member Legislative Council and an executive government composed of Secretaries. The Abraha family, the main owner of the South Majatran Company will likely retain a prominent role in the affairs of the Colony and have moved to organise a loyalist political faction, uniting colonialists, immigrants (who have flooded the Colony in recent years) and collaborationist native Jakanians.

Razamids Return to Power
April 8, 4095

The old Razamid dynasty has returned to power once again, ending a decade of colonial rule. Led by the dynasty's Jakanian branch chief, Prince Umar al-Razama, a grandson Sultan Umar I (r. 3993-4001), the Razamids along with their traditional Turjak tribal allies and anti-colonialist movements engineered a mass revolt within the colonial military ranks, betraying their one time allies the Coburan magnate family, the Abrahas. Many Jakanians had become deeply concerned at plans to mass import several foreigners in order to weaken the natives' numerical advantage.

Prince Umar has been proclaimed Sultan Umar II and many colonists have begun withdrawing from the country fearing reprisals and notorious cruelty associated with the now reigning dynasty. Once masters of most of eastern Majatra, the dynasty was noted for aggressiveness, treachery and brutality.

Sultan Weds Jelbek Bride
March 26, 4097

Sultan Umar II has married the daughter of the Jelbek Grand Imam, Jesmin Juhndrsme Grakkrt. The new bride is 22 years old and a devout Ahmadi. The union brings the two nations of Jakania and Jelbania closer and some speculate that the Deltarian communist threat "created this union". The new Sultana brought as part of her dowry, a number of Grakkrt clan warriors, whose valor is well renowned and impressed the Sultan and his Royal Court greatly. These men will help in the great task of building a new army in the new nation. The Sultan is said to have sent out adverts to Jelbania inviting more Grakkrt warriors into his service.


Ahmadi Intellectuals Found OAC

A group of Ahmadi intellectuals from Jakania, Kalopia and Jelbania have founded a new international organisation the Organisation for Ahmadi Cooperation (OAC) Target members are political parties active in Ahmadi majority countries. The Royal Court expressed its support of the initiative and promised both financial support and land grants to the new organisation.

Sultan Consolidates Power
June 2, 4101

Sultan Umar II has, via a number of domestic and foreign policy strokes, consolidated his power in Jakania, well above his clan and allied Turjak clans. Taking advantage of a return to economic stability and the establishment of control over the nation's vital oil deposits, the Sultan created the Sanjaqi Guard, a royal 'bodyguard' boasting of some 80,000 members. All are recruited from abroad - the vast majority from his wife's homeland of Jelbania. The Sanjaqis will relieve the Sultan from continued reliance from the Turjak clan militias which were a key support structure.

Greatly cautious about neighbouring communist Deltaria, the Sultan has moved to create a number of alliances and agreements with countries in the region. The first is an emphasis on Ahmadi cooperation as a foreign policy tool. The first est for the Organisation of Ahmadi Cooperation will be to see if it can manage to present a unified candidate for a Security Council seats and 'wheel and deal' enough. Another move was an agreement with the Kingdom of Barmenia. the Sultan's niece Princess Aisha, eldest daughter of the Katib Prince Jamal, will wed the Brmek King and Jakania will in turn recognise the Brmek claim to the throne of Deltaria. All these arrangements will at least offer the veneer of a contained communist Deltaria.
