Revolutionary Spirit! is a pamphlet distributed by pro-independence fighters in Kimlien providing information and commentary from the frontlinesDevelopments over the past three years (4427-4430)1 June 4427 - 1 June 4430OOC: Another bullet point updateJune 4427 - June 4428• Xsampa-Hanzen and DU bombing campaign continues, targeting small villages and towns often used by rebels as clandestine bases of operations; thousands of innocent civilians are killed
• Rebels retake Hội Nghĩa and various transport routes near their zones of control
• Rebels launch "Autumn Offensive," making large territorial gains including the villages Uông Lý, Vĩnh Tân, Bạch Đằng and Tân Hiệp.
↳ Due to superior enemy firepower, rebels suffered substantial casualties with a kill ratio of nearly 2:1. In total, 39,823 rebels were KIA to 22,981 on the Xsampa-Hanzen side.
June 4428 - June 4429• In Battle of Bac Ngãi (July 4428), rebels catch Xsampa-Hanzen forces off-guard securing a decisive and moral-boosting victory in the village of Bac Ngãi.
↳ After having taken the villages of Tân Hiệp and Bạch Đằng, Xsampa-Hanzen strategists assumed that Hiếu Liêm would be the next target, and made territorial gains along the highways leading to rebel-controlled Hội Nghĩa and Bạch Đằng, in addition to substantially bombing these settlements.
↳ Xsampa-Hanzen forces made large scale defensive preparations in Hiếu Liêm.
↳ Meanwhile, rebels under the direct leadership of Commander Hoàng Văn Thuật organized a spectacular logistical feat, wherein artillery, arms and hundreds of thousands of rounds of munitions were transported on foot through the jungle which stretched from Bạch Đằng to Bac Ngãi.
↳ Late in the evening, rebel-leaning forces in Hội Nghĩa launched a small-scale assault from within the village to give the illusion that rebels were planning a strike on Hội Nghĩa.
↳ Simultaneously, rebels began striking defensive fortifications in Bac Ngãi with mortars and artillery fire while rebel fighters rushed into the village, surprising and overwhelming the regiment stationed there.
↳ By late afternoon the next day, rebels had secured the village with comparatively low casualties; in the end, 974 rebels were KIA while 2,859 Xsampans were KIA.
• In September,
the State of Indrala recognized the State of Kimlien as the legitimate government of Kimlien, and established an embassy in the provisional capital of Trá Cai, the first nation to do so.
• In November, Prime Minister Lê Hiến Mai mocked King Wangdue for
offering an unconditional surrender to the Northern Council:
↳ "We see the weakness of Wangdue as a man and as a leader, and of the concept of "colonial nationalism" which is so soon to capitulate to a foreign aggressor at the first sign of struggle."
↳ "This is not to slight the Northern Council for their efforts against the tyrannical Dovani Union, which are noble, but to question the basis of a political order which has no conviction in its own beliefs."
↳ "Our fight will continue until his regime is crippled beyond recovery. There is no question of transferring power from Wangdue; he cannot transfer that which he does not have."
• Rebels continued to gain territorial control over rural and jungle areas.
• Xsampa-Hanzen forces used their advantage on the sea to shell rebel-held villages of Uông Lý, Nà Kiết and Cảng Núi, resulting in casualties for both combatants and civilians alike, as well as substantial damage to local infrastructure, homes and farms.
June 4429 - June 4430• In the Fall of Đông Quan, rebels gain control of the largest city in the province of the same name.
↳ While a victory in the end for rebels, the Fall of Đông Quan experienced similar casualties to the
Battle of Cảng Núi;
↳ After six days of fighting, rebels secured the city with losses around 4,113 for the rebels and 1,968 for the Xsampa-Hanzen forces;
↳ Due to Đông Quan's high population density, civilian losses were very high at 44,898, with the Xsampa-Hanzen forces undertaking a scorched-earth policy as they had before with Cảng Núi and Hội Nghĩa.
• In "Winter Offensive," rebels consolidate control over rural areas in the north, while expanding control in the southern Bông Gòn and Trà Thanh provinces. Rebels face significant difficulty in moving into Lac An Province, which is where the capital is located along with the majority of Xsampa-aligned forces.
• In April, Prime Minister Lê Hiến Mai laughed at King Wangdue in a speech given to international press at the Indralan embassy in Trá Cai:
↳ "What is there to
negotiate? Wangdue already bent over and offered himself to his adversaries when he
offered an unconditional surrender!"
↳ "It's funny that this weak man thinks he can command the respect of the Northern Council, much less his own people! We will continue to strike at this fool's flimsy grasp on power and on reality."
