August 5219 | People's Council passes pro-Dovani and foreign affairs bills, Bazgaristan aims to be a member of the Dovani Pact

Khamandi - President Karlani Qalat announced that the People's Council had passed an act regulating foreign investment and the formal formation of the International Economic Development and Assistance Organization (IEDAO) which will coordinate all efforts of foreign investment into Bazgaristan. The Director of the IEDAO will cooperate with the Bazgaristan Development Fund (BDF), the sovereign wealth fund of Bazgaristan, which was founded in the wake of the Banner Revolution as a means to coordinate foreign investment and the strategic and national goals of Bazgaristan. CEO of the BDF Heydar Derakhshani welcomed the act of the People's Council and stated that the formation of the IEDAO will help facilitate foreign investment into Bazgaristan and will provide for a uniformed approach to handling foreign investment. The International Development and Stability Fund has often criticized Bazgaristan's often haphazard rules and regulations for foreign investment and has made recommendations that the nation adopt a uniformed approach. The formation of the IEDAO does precisely that and is likely aimed at bolstering the nations regional profile in Dovani as well as attempting to attract outside investment from fellow Dovani nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed that the People's Council had ratified the Treaty of the Dovani Pact as an applicant for Full Membership within the organization. Heshmat Tarokh, the Permanent Representative and Chief Administrator to the Ascension to the Dovani Pact, welcomed the news and stated that now it relied on the Dovani Assembly to formally accept Bazgaristan as a Full Member of the Dovani Pact. "It is a good day for the Bazgari people to ascend to this treaty. It will further develop our markets and allow us greater access to allies and supporters within Dovani as a whole." The ratification of the treaty was passed with all 1209 deputies of the People's Council supporting, something heralded by President Qalat and the Foreign Minister. The Foreign Ministry recently announced that it had appointed a new Ambassador to Ostland and another to New Englia.

October 5219 | ARGC formalizes Ground Forces, adds new "Helem Force"

Khamandi - Brigadier General Armin Durokshan, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps announced from the Takhgan headquarters that the ARGC had formalized the formation of the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps Ground Forces which would be the primary formation of the ARGC. In addition General Durokshan announced that the ARGC would be forming a special operations command, the Helem Force. Helem, the Holy City of Ahmadi's in Kafuristan provides a stark and controversial name for a country and a President who has teetered the line between dedicated Metzist and spiritual Ahmadi. Close confidant and ally of General Durokshan, Brigadier General Hossein Mashayekhi, was named as the commander of the new Helem Force. Mashayekhi has served in a special forces role within the Bazgari Liberation Army and according to sources within the Bazgari Liberation Army and the Ministry of National Defense, Mashayekhi's leaving is a monumental blow to the recently formed BLA Special Forces formations which have loosely been organized underneath Major General Mashayekhi. The announcement that General Mashayekhi was departing the service of the Bazgari Liberation Army to the service of the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps, technically a paramilitary organization for the regime, went over poorly according to sources within the Ministry of National Defense. Rumors have been abound that the argument went as far to include President Qalat refusing the resignation of the Minister of National Defense.

Spokesmen for both the Ministry of National Defense and the President denied these reports and cited that the recent discussions between the Minister of National Defense and the President have been productive. They also stated that the Defense Minister was supportive of the efforts to create a new armed forces for the regime.

July 5333 | President Bahreini looks to victory in the west to secure position.


Explosion in Western Bazgaristan as fighting expands between the Bazgari military and Royalist Army.

Khamandi - As Bazgaristan prepares for the celebration of the 590th anniversary of the "Banner Revolution" of December, 4746, fighting continues in Western Bazgaristan against the Xsampan Royalist Army. President Asghar Bahreini, the General Secretary of the People's Democratic Party, continues to hold onto his position in his tenuous position after a contentious leadership challenge only a few years prior. In recent weeks the fighting against the Xsampan-based Royalist Army has made gains primarily in the Eshrangi Province where they've captured several smaller towns and villages, notably in the mountainous countryside where the Royalist Army has historically fared well. The string of defeats have lead to popular resentment against the President rumors have been abound that former ARGC officer and Minister of National Defense, Javad Qaedi, has been sidelined due to his ideological differences with Bahreini. Qaedi, a devout Israist, utilized his position as Minister of National Defense to expand the presence of the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps throughout the country. Qaedi also utilized his popularity and position to solidify relations with the Supreme Israic Council in Bazgaristan alongside Ahmadi socialist and left-wing groups, something that has draw ire from the current President privately according to reports from within the government.

President Bahreini was "elected" to office in December, 5330 and faced serious party challengers who continue to exist on the Central Committee of the People's Democratic Party and a defeat in the west would spell absolute danger for the President. Bahreini has introduced a number of "Reforms" to the Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Bazgaristan, they were defeated handily by a variety of factions of the PDP and the various parties within the Revolutionary Front. The first sought to reduce the size of the People's Council, the current membership set at 1209 the President sought to introduce legislation that reduced it to 650 but was defeated. Several critics of the regime cite President Bahreini's election due to his strong position as the now former head of the State Intelligence Agency (commonly called KHAD) but his weak administrative skills have placed him at odds with the establishment of the People's Democratic Party. In a first the People's Democratic Party allowed several new and existing members of the Revolutionary Front to stand for elections citing them as "...free and fair...". The People's Democratic Party of course retained the largest share with over 800 members of the PDP being elected, the next largest being the Xsampan Communist Party with 137 seats, the remainder of seats were divided among the Communist Party of Bazgaristan (Ruanism), the Ahmadi Liberation Organization, the Socialist Workers' Party of Bazgaristan, and several smaller parties that announced their allegiance including the controversial decision to recognize Ahmadi Society of Combatant Clergy (ASCC) as a constituent member of the Revolutionary Front.

May 5336 | Bazgari Minister of National Defense goes missing at the front.

WESTERN BAZGARISTAN Officials from the Ministry of National Defense and the Central Military Commission have confirmed that Minister of National Defense and Chief of the Joint Staff Department, Javad Qaedi, has gone missing while overseeing combat operations in Western Bazgaristan. President Bahreini confirmed in a televised address before the nation following the breaking news from the front lines. President Bahreini called the Defense Minister, a Lieutenant General in the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps, a "...national hero and protector of the People's Will." Political commentators from inside of Bazgaristan and outside of Bazgaristan suspect that the President had something to do with the disappearance especially as controversy flared between the two as a result of political disputes and ideological disputes. The President also confirmed that long-time ally and now former Chief of the Intelligence Bureau of the Joint Staff Department, Namdar Eftekhar, will assume the role of Minister of National Defense, Chief of the Joint Defense Staff and one of the two Vice Chairman spots on the Central Military Commission. While public support has increased for the President following the successful elimination of one of two deputy commanders of the Royalist Army, the President remains in a fragile position.

The incoming National Defense Minister confirmed that the President had authorized the deployment of the 17 Rezvabad (17th Combined Armed Brigade "Rezvabad") brigade, one of the few full-strength brigades in the Bazgari Liberation Army Ground Force. It is underneath the command of Brigadier General Khosrow Shajarian, a close ally of the incoming National Defense Minister and former Deputy Chief of the Intelligence Bureau. The 17 Rezvabad completed a long-term training cycle that began several years prior alongside members of the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps' Ground Forces and several commando/special forces units of the BLA Ground Forces. The 17 Rezvabad Brigade is expected to take over fighting from formations of the ARGC's Ground Forces which were deployed by former National Defense Minister Javad Qaedi; something that has resulted in protest from the ARGC commander, Major General Kambiz Barbarz who declared himself a "...Qaedi loyalist.". Barbarz protested, according to reports, the removal of the ARGC from the front-lines despite orders from the President who cited "...heavy losses..." as the reason for the removal.

October 5339 | BREAKING NEWS: "Missing" National Defense Minister proclaimed General-Secretary, acting President.

Khamandi - The allegedly "missing" Minister of National Defense and former Chief of the Joint Staff Department, Javad Qaedi, has formally resurfaced as he appeared on Channel One, the government operated news channel in which he declared that a special session of the People's Democratic Party had been called and he was elected as the General-Secretary of the People's Democratic Party unseating missing President Asghar Bahreini. Qeadi and his loyalist, known as "Qaedist" or the "Qaedi Faction", have begun a brutal purge of "Enemies of the people and the state" beginning largely with officers within the Bazgari Liberation Army. Qaedi's address to the nation included the provision that he had replaced a large swathe of Deputies to the People's Council for "corruption" and "activities against the people of Bazgaristan", he noted that the information regarding the activities will be made public during the trials that will be handled by the nations Supreme Court. The current whereabouts of former President Bahreini is unknown though it is believed that he is being held, alongside several government ministers and the Prime Minister in a secret location. Some suspect that they are being held in the feared prison black site known as the "Shadow Citadel" (Bazgari: ارگ سایه ; tr. aregu saah). Arsaah as it is commonly called, the ancient fortress was home to an order of assassins that served the ancient Bazgari nobles and functionaries that ruled the area before their destruction by the Xsampan colonist.

Qaedi, a well known supporter of the more religious elements of Bazgari society, is expected to continue his support more publicly. The coup process began, according to sources close to the regime, in late May, 5338 when swathes of the Bazgari Liberation Army began pledging loyalty to the recently re-surfaced National Defense Minister, the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps quickly swore allegiance to the National Defense Minister and began putting the domino's in place in order to assume power. While President Bahreini's popularity increased following the success of military operations in the west of the nation, he began to face a series of challenges within the Central Committee and the Politburo, some suspect at the direction of Qeadi loyalist. The Minister of National Defense prior to his disappearance was considered a contender for the leadership of the People's Democratic Party and had made moves to secure a seat in the Politburo and the Central Committee, this was in addition the installment of loyalist throughout the Bazgari Liberation Army and the new Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps, where he continued to retain high popularity. A number of Deputies of the People's Council publicly declared their loyalty to the "missing" minister and were quickly put down by Bahreini loyalist.

President Qaedi swiftly appointed a new Council of Ministers, the most notable being Sepand Keshavarz, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs who has launched fierce criticism of the recent civil tension in Medina. "The actions of elements of the Medinan society seek to uproot the Ahmadi virtues that have guided the nation for centuries. We wholly condemn these actions and the intolerance towards Akim. Bazgaristan will provide whatever assistance to the true, real Ahmadi government in Medina."

September 5376 | President Qaedi condemns unrest in neighboring Medina.

Khamandi - President Javad Qaedi, entering into his 70s, has continued to condemn unrest that continues to occur in neighboring Medina and has increased the presence of the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps on the border of Bazgaristan and Medina, bolstering it with elements of the Bazgari Liberation Army Ground Forces. "We must continually be vigilant to those who threaten Bazgari's and more over, Ahmadi values. Medina was once the standard for Ahmadi values and virtues, but now? Not so much." The President has been continually supportive of the more religious elements in Bazgari society since he assumed power in October, 5339 when he returned to the capital following the weak showing of former President Asghar Bahreini who was deposed and exiled from Bazgaristan to Aldegar. The President has generated many new allies, notably among those Ahmadi, in his quest for dominance in the southeast and southern Dovani region where the Gao-Showan people have tended to dominate affairs. The President and the government in Khamandi has long been suspected for their role in the support of Ahmadi-based terrorist groups, including the Supreme Israic Council, the Majatran Mujhadeen, and other groups. The President, expected to be in office until his death with no clear successor, has presented more and more support to the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps and their special forces branch, the Helem Force.

January 5377 | BREAKING NEWS: Royalist Intelligence Chief killed near Bazgari-Hanzen border.

Korashan, Eshrangi Province - Unconfirmed sources have announced that the leader of the Intelligence Division of the Royal Army, Lieutenant General Namse Wangchuk, has been killed by a suicide drone. The alleged attack happened in the border town of Korashan near the Hanzen-Bazgaristan border in the northwestern Eshrangi Province. Sources close to the Eshrangi Corps of the ARGC stated that the Intelligence Command of the Eshrangi Corps carried out the attack utilizing a Gawah-136 loitering munition UAV; other speculate that the Helem Force was responsible for the attack. The attack on the Royal Army's senior leadership is likely to inflame tensions between the Royal Army and the government of Bazgaristan which has mitigated several attacks in the past decade and has seen a general lull in attacks from the Royal Army as financing from Yingdala and wealthy Xsampan's has slowed down. DISID, the State Intelligence Agency which falls underneath the Ministry of State Security, has stepped up patrols of their State Security Police in the western provinces of Bazgaristan where the Xsampan Royal Army maintains their largest influence due to the presence of nearly the entire population of Xsampan's.

The attack so close to the neutral nation of Hanzen's border is likely to draw ire from the Hanzen government but the Bazgari will have to await to see their reaction, if any at all.

May 5377 | BREAKING: BAZGARISTAN LAUNCHES DRONE STRIKES IN WESTERN MEDINA

WESTERN MEDINA Brigadier General Janat Gul Minhas, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps, had struck positions in western Medina with Gawah-136 loitering munition UAV. The positions, belonging to anti-Ahmadi elements according to General Gul Minhas, saw the first widespread use of these loitering munition UAVs outside of Bazgaristan. The drones, developed by a Bazgari military-industrial research institute, have been making waves in Bazgaristan as the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps has been using them against the paramilitary Royal Army of the deposed Heavenly King of Xsampa who continues to direct an insurgency against Bazgaristan. They are frequently referred to as "kamikaze" drones due to the fact that once launched, they are single-use. The decision for Bazgaristan to launch attacks in Medina was laid down in September, 5376 when unrest gripped Medina and has threatened Ahmadi religious dominance in the country, despite the ideological differences, Medina has been considered a prime Ahmadi state, especially due to the lack of them in southern and southeastern Dovani. Bazgaristan in recent years has taken a more sharp turn towards Ahmadism since the rise of the Qaedist faction in October, 5339. The Qaedist faction, founded by current President Javad Qaedi, has dominated the People's Democratic Party and has been responsible for the merging several political factions of the People's Democratic Party and other political parties within the People's Council.

The attacks, carried out in the early morning hours of of August 2nd, 5377 and were aimed at the growing factional divide within Medinan society that seeks to unseat the deep rooted Ahmadist loyalist, especially those in the western portion of Medina where the Bazgari government, notably the ARGC, maintains influence in local Ahmadi's. In response to the attacks, the Bazgari government announced increased formations of the ARGC and the BLA Ground Forces, including deployment of new assets of the BLA Air Force. There have been rumors that the Helem Force, the special operations force of the ARGC, have crossed the border to conduct "surgical strikes" within Medina.

Kahmandi - Minister of Foreign Affairs Zardad Khattak condemned the recent move by Hanzen to close the border between Hanzen and Bazgaristan and blamed Hanzen for harboring exiled Xsampan terrorist. "It is no secret that the Gao-Showan states have disdain for us Dudmani, especially the Bazgari who have made up the majority of people in Bazgaristan since it was a colony and trading post of the Aldegarian Empire in centuries past. I believe that Hanzen is complicit in the terrorism that is being carried out against the Bazgari people and those Xsampan's who have made peace with the Bazgari in the west." The Foreign Minister did not offer any further information but it is known that some members of the terrorist Royal Army have passed into Hanzen and other Gao-Showan nations and re-entered into Bazgaristan but the Foreign Minister offered no support to such claims. In recent weeks since the intelligence chief of the Royal Army was killed, the Bazgari military has conducted several other strikes against the Royal Army in the area of the border of Hanzen. The Bazgari Liberation Army and the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps have avoided putting boots on the ground near the border and instead have conducted surgical strikes against the Royal Army utilizing a myriad of suicide drones and other UAV technology that has been developed locally.

The composition of the People's Council has been further complicated by the authorization of President Javad Qaedi approving the formation of two new political parties as a component of the Revolutionary Front: the National Unity Party, an organization of moderate Ahmadi's that have been supportive of President Qaedi and Qaedist policies but have been sidelined by the People's Democratic Party historically due to the center-left nature; the second is the Ahmadi Society of Combatant Clergy who had their temporary status revoked by former President Bahreini, but have been informally a part of the Revolutionary Front since July, 5333 and have enjoyed political patronage from the aging President.

Due to the increase of tensions, the People's Council approved the purchase of 25 JF-17 Block 3 fighters from the Majatran Organization for Industrialization in addition to reaching out to several nations to furnish arms and armor to Bazgaristan. The Bazgari Military Industrial Organization (BMIO) announced that they had begun work on a localized variant of the Zardic-built AH-1J, known as the BMIO "Tufan" or "Typhoon" in Luthorian. The MOI is providing assistance to the BMIO according to sources close to the Ministry of National Defense. The People's Council announced that due to continued unrest, in order to assist the Public Security Police (Ministry of the Interior) and the State Security Police (Ministry of State Security) the Ministry of the Interior would form a militia-type organization known as the "Defense of the Revolution Organization" (Bazgari: انقلاب دفاع تنظيم; tr. Inqilab Difa Tanzim) which will be organized on a district and province level and be responsible to the Ministry of the Interior and in times of war, the Ministry of National Defense.

According to sources close to the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps, the recently founded ARGC Intelligence Organization is cooperating with the State Intelligence Agency to continue recruitment of scientist and engineers in the field of rocketry in order to develop a robust missile industry in Bazgaristan.
