BREAKING NEWS: Lone plane departs Khamandi International late at night

Khamandi - According to sources close to the Bazgari government a flight departed from Kahmandi International Airport late last night which contained the deposed King Tao He en route back to Yingdala. Sources within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have revealed the the Yingdalan government has promised "aide" to the Bazgari government in favor of returning the deposed King as well as some members of the royal family. This is not the first time that this rumor has surfaced but it the first time that the underground press has been able to confirm that air traffic over Khamandi was cleared and a single plane departed during this time, while none can confirm who was on the plane it seems suspicious that they do this for anyone else. The Minister of Foreign Affairs has also been seen at the Yingdalan embassy and visa versa, the Yingdalan ambassador has been visiting the Foreign Affairs headquarters. This comes at a time when in the countries northern provinces the Bazgari Liberation Army Ground Force and Bazgari Liberation Army Air Force have been conducting a number of attacks against terrorist remnants of the Royalist Army, the former army of the Kingdom of Xsampa. The campaign against the remnants of the Royal Army began several months after the terrorist attack in Khamandi which left scores dead and proved a significant blow to the Sadat regime in legitimacy. While unconfirmed the deal between Yingdala and Bazgaristan includes aid as well as the potential arms from Yingdalan companies.

Bazgari's celebrate 23rd anniversary of the Banner Revolution

Northern Bazgaristan - President Sadat gave an address today on the 23rd anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Bazgaristan, the address was focused around the profound changes that have swept across the country. The former ruling party and ruling family was cast out, handed back to the Yingdalan state who provided a "bounty" for the return of the deposed King. The address to the People's Democratic Party and members of the Xsampan Communist Party was met with "rapturous applause" as the President and General-Secretary spoke about the success of the Banner Revolution and the rise of the Democratic Republic; a true people's democracy. The President addressed the continued economic growth over the past several decades, notably in the fields of heavy industry and the growth agricultural sectors of the economy. According to sources within the Ministry of Economics and Finance the overall economic situation in Bazgaristan has actually improved, despite the fact that a vast majority continue to struggle with basic needs. According to reports from the Ministry of Economics and Finance local communist committees and organizations have done a better job at distributing resources and aide across the country, while reports of corruption and graft have been handed to the Ministry of State Security they remain largely limited.

Despite a lack of resources, training and discipline the campaign against the loyalist of the former Kingdom of Xsampa was a large success and boon for morale in the Bazgari Liberation Army. The commanding officer of the entire operation, Major General Zaram Jandran, commander of the 14th Armored Brigade was elevated to the rank of General and awarded a spot as a Vice Minister of Defense in charge of defense logistics, his efforts have reportedly assisted in the deployment of the BLA across the entire country and the establishment of depots across the country. Jandran's elevation to the Vice Minister of Defense as well as his appointment as a full member of the Central Committee has prompted some over the past several years to believe that the 50 year old General could potentially succeed President Sadat as the General-Secretary but this is just speculation. The President in his speech spoke about a favorable relationship with Bazgaristan's neighbor, Medina.

Bazgari Liberation Army Ground Forces conduct an exercise displaying a number of new Yingdalan pieces of equipment.

Khamandi - A parade conducted outside of Khamandi revealed the extent that the Bazgari government used the funds provided by the return of the deposed King to purchase new military equipment from Yingdalan companies. A parade outside of Khamandi revealed that the Bazgari Liberation Army vastly improved their military equipment, including a number of Type 80/88 main battle tanks, self-propelled artillery pieces and Yingdalan small arms. The parade was resided over by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Democratic Republic of Bazgaristan, Roshan Sadat. In his speech which was televised on state television, Sadat spoke about the glorious Banner Revolution and success that the Bazgari government has experienced since the start of the Banner Revolution several decades prior. In the backdrop to the military parade has been an insurgency in the northwestern part of the country against holdouts of the former Royal Army, while not necessarily a "hot conflict" the insurgency has lasted for several years and the new addition of hardware finally delivered by YIngdalan companies might tip the scales in the favor of the Bazgari Liberation Army.

President Qalat celebrates the 472nd anniversary of the Banner Revolution

Kahmandi - President Karlani Qalat gave a speech celebrating the 472nd year since the "Banner Revolution" in Bazgaristan. The speech was attended by government officials, representatives from the People's Council and other functionaries of the government and political establishment. President Qalat spoke of the successes of the Democratic Republic of Bazgaristan and how they had improved the lives of ordinary Bazgari's and worked with the local minorities, notably the Xsampan's. "Bazgaristan stands at a crossroads in history when our role on the continent is even more important than it was before." While President Qalat painted a picture that is widely accepted for the "high society" of Bazgaristan, the country has generally experienced poor economic conditions. Approximately 67% of all Bazgari's, and approximately 83% of non-Bazgari's, are considered to be poor/lower class by the standards of the International Development and Stability Bank (IDSB) which publishes regular reports on living conditions across the globe. President Qalat also celebrated the Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Bazgaristan which was amended in January, 4780 and formally established the President of the Democratic Republic of Bazgaristan (ex officio for the General-Secretary of the People's Democratic Party) and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Democratic Republic of Bazgaristan (often called the Prime Minister or the Premier). The Chairman has largely been held by the Deputy General-Secretary of the PDP however in recent decades has been awarded to members of the "Revolutionary Front" as a means to encourage participation.

President Qalat also announced that the "Revolutionary Front" would be expanded to include the Communist Party of Bazgaristan (Ruanist) and the Ahmadi Liberation Organization (a left-wing Ahmadi socialist/communist party). Minister of State Security Namdar Tarkani noted that the newly formed Ahmadi Society of Combatant Clergy was illegal and formally banned the political party as "...espousing anti-Bazgari, foreign sponsored and against the state." in his decree which was submitted to President Qalat and signed. General-Secretary of the Xsampan Communist Party, Tang Feng, condemned the foundation of the ASCC and stated that they posed the greatest threat to the foundation of Bazgaristan in recent centuries. The Ministry of State Security updated its rather interesting system of using a deck of playing cards to assign its most wanted; the new "King of Spades", the second most notable terrorist was updated to be General-Secretary of the Ahmadi Society of Combatant Clergy Farhad Sobhani.

Minister of Economics and Finance Khandawar Akhoond confirmed that the government had passed the Bazgaristan Natural Resources Act in the People's Council which grants the government exclusive authority to permit the establishment of exploration and drilling of notable materials in Bazgaristan. Akhoond announced that explorers and surveyors had found notable deposits of copper, silicon, sulfur and silver; there have been rumors that the Bazgari's are sitting on a significant deposit of uranium but that was not confirmed by the Bazgari government.

June 5218 | Growing concerns about radical Ahmadism in eastern Bazgaristan

Khamandi - President Qalat has shared concerns according to sources within the Bazgari government related to the growing presence of the Ahmadi Society of Combatant Clergy (ASCC) in the eastern portion of the country. Kalaran and Nasmandi have both seen increased activity related to the rise of Abadi Ahmadism compared to the vast majority of Bazgaristan, which is largely Israist. Kalaran and Nasmandi have always typically been more religious due to the close proximity to Medina and the fact that Medinan's have typically been seen as a more religious people throughout their history. Nasmandi has been home to the largest expatriate Ahmadi Aldegarian population since they fled Aldegar several hundred centuries prior. The ethnic makeup of Bazgaristan is incredibly complex, the largest ethnic group is the Bazgari who are a Dumandi (OOC: Pashtun who speak Pashto) sub-group that speak Bazgari (OOC: Dari) whereas neighboring Medinan's are ethnically Dumandi but belong to the sub-group of Dumandi who speak Zaqrami (OOC: Urdu); each of which share their ethnic name with. Overall, they share common cultural heritage with many Ezadi (OOC: Iranian) ethnic groups including Aldegarians (OOC: Persians without Islam who speak Farsi), Kharaji (OOC: Balochi), the Bihezi (OOC: Kurdish) in Barmenistan and the Anati (OOC: Punjabi).

The President noted that the Ministry of State Security had been dispatched and would be looking to crackdown on the now illegal paramilitary group in eastern Bazgaristan in the hopes of stemming any violence. Governors of both the Kalaran and Nasmandi Provinces have met with President Qalat in Kahmandi and assured them they are monitoring the situation. Behind the scenes however, the Bazgari Liberation Army (BLA) garrisons in both Kalaran and Nasmandi have prepared for the possibility of armed conflict according to reports within the Ministry of the National Defense. Vice Minister of National Defense Lieutenant General Kohyar Shahbaz has made frequent trips to the two provinces and many have speculated that he now holds a vitally important role in what would eventually be the "pacification" of the eastern provinces should they decide to rise against the government. Elements of the often considered "elite" 14th Armored Brigade of the Bazgari Liberation Army Ground Forces (BLAGF) have been spotted deploying to garrisons in both Kalaran and Nasmandi.

This comes at a time when the Royalist Army, the Xsampan exclusive group that has continued its insurgency in the western part of the country and has largely been engaged in hit and run attacks versus open conflict like when the group first started.

August 5218 | President Qalat established Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corp

Khamandi - President Qalat announced today the formation of the Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps (ARGC) as a means to combat growing discontent within western and eastern parts of the nation. The Bazgari government, largely secular, has leaned into recent left-wing pro-Ahmadi movements as a means to counter Ahmadi extremist efforts among the Ahmadi Aldegarian community and Abadi Ahmadi community in eastern Bazgaristan. President Qalat announced that Brigadier General Armin Durokshan would become the first Commander-in-Chief of the Ahamdi Revolutionary Guard Corps and would be responsible for cooperating with the Ministry of National Defense for the coordination of its organization and establishment. Foreign political experts have commented that President Qalat and Minister of National Defense Atal Karlal have a contentious relationship and have differing ideological opinions; notably Qalat being more religiously active and involved within the leadership of Israist within Bazgaristan whereas the Defense Minister is much more secular and focused on the ideological foundations of the People's Democratic Party. While the Bazgari people were receptive to the announcement of the President and the ARGC has had no shortage of volunteers some speculate that the ARGC might receive more attention compared to the Bazgari Liberation Army, and that provides a large issue for the Ministry of National Defense.

The initial order for the foundation of the ARGC was ordered in June, 5218 and the first formations entered into training in late July, 5218 and the first recruits are expected to graduate in late December, 5218 and will largely consist of officers, non-commissioned officers and a small portion of enlisted men. Several dozen officers and NCOs from the Bazgari Liberation Army were selected for the ARGC, much to the chagrin of the Ministry of National Defense and Chief of the Joint Staff Department, General (Ground Forces) Taban Ashkani. The ARGC moved into a newly built base for the BLA based out of Takhgan, just outside of Khamandi; it has been referred to as the "Takhgan headquarters", there is speculation that the ARGC is likely to become the "regime praetorian" under Qalat and that the tensions with the BLA and National Defense Ministry are just beginning.

September 5218 | Offshore oil platform announced in Vascanian Sea

Baddurzar, Vascanian Sea - President Qalat, Minister of Economics and Finance Khandawar Akhoond, Minister of Industry and Development Taghi Pakdel and Minister of Planning and Public Works Sadeq Zarqan announced that the Bazgari government had contracted with several foreign construction firms to develop its first offshore oil platform in the Vascanian Sea. President Qalat noted that this was a "crowning achievement" in his presidency and stated that it would reduce the dependency on purchasing foreign oil but some suspect that this will bring him on a collision course with the much more powerful Vascania and Medina, both nations who share claims over the oil within the Vascanian Sea. Minister of Planning and Public Works Sadeq Zarqan, who would be overseeing the construction and initial set-up operations, stated that construction had begun in early August, 5218 and was expected to take several years and that Bazgari corporations had been contracted to do some of the work alongside unnamed foreign corporations. Once the platform is completed it will be handed over to the Ministry of Industry and Development's newly established corporation "Bazgari National Oil Company" (BNOC). Minister of Planning and Public Works also noted that Khamandi would be home to a new oil terminal based out of the suburb of Otamazar which will break ground in October, 5218.

President Qalat announced his intention to seek to expand the Bazgari Liberation Army Navy (BLAN) in order to protect the offshore platform, which he stated will not be the "last" offshore platform and those nations which seek to challenge Bazgaristan will face the wrath of vengeance, likely aimed at Vascania and Medina. Rumors circulated that initially President Qalat desire to expand the newly formed Ahmadi Revolutionary Guard Corps by adding a naval component but was rebuked by Minister of National Defense Atal Karlal and Chief of the Joint Staff Department, General (Ground Forces) Taban Ashkani.

September 5218 | Defense Minister forms new Kaminskist political party

Khamandi - Minister of National Defense Atal Karlal announced his formal break with the People's Democratic Party and the formation of the Kaminski-based, Socialist Workers' Party. Controversially, the Minister of the Interior approved the registration of the party and the entry into the Revolutionary Front without approval of the General-Secretary or President according to sources within the party. The Interior Minister, Milad Kashkouli, is a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the PDP. The Defense Minister noted that he deeply respected President Qalat but noted that the "revolutionary fever" had consumed the people and that the theory of permanent, international revolution was necessary for the betterment of the Bazgari people. The Defense Minister is a note warhawk and his selection by President Qalat did not go unnoticed by the insurgent Royal Army in Eastern Bazgaristan, the Minister of National Defense previously served as the commanding officer of the 14th Armored Brigade and was engaged in heavy fighting up until his election and appointment in December, 5210 when he was assigned as a Vice Minister of National Defense and then elected as a Deputy of the People's Council. Karlal, previously a Lieutenant General in the Bazgari Liberation Army Ground Forces engaged several times with the current leader of the Royal Army, General Huo Wuying.

The formation of the Socialist Workers' Party is likely to attract military, security and law enforcement officers to its banner as the Minister of National Defense is well liked and respected within the security and intelligence community. It is unlikely that the party makes any significant waves in the People's Council but it does lend to the credibility of the Revolutionary Front system that it "works" to a degree. The December, 5220 elections are likely to be the most contentious in recent history, while the People's Democratic Party is unlikely to loose their absolute hold on Bazgaristan it might make for interesting politics to see how the Revolutionary Front expands their seats within the People's Council.
