Minister of Trade and Industry el-Sayed

ANOTHER OIL GLUT

Bier Qassem, June 13, 4816: At a meeting of Trade and Industry Ministry managers and oil executives in Al’Buqiyaa at the headquarters of the ship building firm, Majatran Fishing of Al’baharia, Trade and Industry Minister Hakim el-Sayed was asked if another oil glut was likely. He responded:

Of course there will be another oil glut. Some idiot will think he or she is smarter than everybody else and create it accidentally thinking it is winning. But you really mean will there be one soon; there is certainly no need for it.

The last one was in fact not caused by major oil producers at all but by one power that created a worldwide down turn which many attributed to two Majatran oil producers entering the market. Of the five most important oil producers, they were the first two to pull back. So it goes.

You probably want to know what we are doing. Petroleum Development of Badara, the government owned oil and gas producer is in fact mainly selling domestically and with very little crude oil going to the international market.

The government regularly confers with Qat Oil Services, our most important private extractor of oil and gas, to see what it is doing and the thinking governing its activity. Our conclusion is that Jumhuriat al-Badara is producing just less than we were after pulling back to help reduce the last threat of oil glut.

So we are doing our part to not create overproduction.

Libertarian Party Holds Last Set of Rallies Before Election

On November 29th, 4817, in the capital city of Badara, Abdul Hadad gave his last speech in hopes of rallying support for the Libertarian Party in the Northern Islands before the December 1st election, Hakim Shadad and Rashad Toma each held rallies on the other two Northern Regions. Crowd estimates are at about 8,000 people in attendance at Hadads rally, and 5,000 and 4,500 respectively. Ziyad Baz and Kazim Isa each held rallies in the Southern Islands with attendants being at about 7,000 and 5,000. BPP, a polling station, put Hizb Muasisiun at a slim 167 seat majority, with most support coming form the Northern Islands.
Interested in not responding to ridiculous accusations, namely from Jakania, and Lourania, and now Valruzia

Hizb Muasisiun Secretary Abdul Aziz

HIZB MUASISIUN MEETS AFTER ELECTORAL ROUT

Qat Plantation, Al’Salmania Muhafazah, November 8, 4820: Hizb Muasisiun after only seven years of existence has been swept from office by the Libertarian Party. Meeting at Qat Plantation, the headquarters of the Kerbogha family financial interests, Hizb Muasisiun met to consider which parts of its existing agenda were most important. Abdul Aziz, Party Secretary of Hizb Muasisiun, announced at the conclusion of the meeting:

Hizb Muasisiun is an Ahmadi Majatran party. We were formed at a time of discrimination internationally against Ahmadis and Majatrans and this is our fundamental reason for existence so protecting the Ahmadi religion and Majatran culture and their adherents from destruction remains our most important work.

We are similar to People’s Democracy which oversaw a mildly Ahmadi socialist state in our wish for an Ahmadi state church but are not for socialism per se. Protecting the social safety net we also share with them.

With the Free Radicals we again join in protecting the social safety net but reject their secularization. The Free Radicals brought in a mixed economy of public and private ownership of public and private ownership with which we were in accord but only as the status quo. They disbanded so advocates of public, private or mixed economy could decide the future direction for economic development.

The ownership of oil reserves by the nation with provision for public and private development established by the Free Radicals we believe should be maintained as fundamental to the prosperity of the people of Jumhuriat al-Badara.

We are still reviewing the massive legislative agenda of Badaran Forces Alliance which, in short, we generally reject except that we do believe there were some military reforms which should be continued. Further, we are not committed one way or the other to the regionalization they embodied and are weighing the advantages to specific changes one by one rather than in an overall manner.

The Libertarian party is now in charge and has moved generally toward privatization of the means of production. We do not oppose this per se except to the extent it may undermine the safety net or the interest of the people in our oil and gas reserves.

Which is a long way around to say we favor protecting Ahmadi and Majatran religion and culture, protecting the social safety net, maintaining the ownership of our oil and gas reserves in the sovereign people and building a stronger military and national security defense.

We note that Jumhuriat al-Badara has diplomatic relations with 51 nations, free trading relations with 22 and investment agreements with three. More of these arrangements we believe is desirable however we do not favor any nation or bloc of nations dominating the rest of us.

Peace be unto you and yours.

President Abdul Aziz

COALITION?

Dar as Salam, February 22, 4822: President Abdul Aziz appeared at a reception for newly elected members of the Majlis at the Book of Bliss Recreational Center in Dar as Salam before attending a football match in which two of his grandchildren were competing in the city championship semifinals.

When reporters asked if a Hizb Mutasisiun government would be replacing the Libertarian Party government, Aziz indicated Hizb Mutasisiun was certainly prepared to do that shortly but that in view of the closeness of the recent election, he would really prefer to see a coalition government formed until the next election.

Chancellor Hamad el-Radwan

MEETING ON NEW HELEM

Dar as Salam, May 10, 4823: Hamad el-Radwan, Chancellor in the coalition government of Hizb Mutasisiun and the Libertarian Party, today met with with the Israi Grand Mufti of Dar as Salam, Abdullah ibn Ortoq, at the offices serving the Grand Mosque of Dar as Salam to discuss the New Helem movement in the Ahmadi religion. The Grand Mufti is inclined to believe this new Ahmadi sect is generallly not hostile to the Book of Bliss and does not seem to be a force for violence and accordingly would like to make contact on behalf of the Israi populaion of Jumhuriat al-Badara with a view to giving and getting assurances of friendship. The New Helem movement began in Kafuristan which is largely Abadi and so the Grand Mufti does not believe it will be a source of conflict within the Israi population; further he would like to keep an open mind on whether a new prophet has actually arisen and explore the possibility.

The Ayatollah of Abu Yacub, Ruhollah Rafsanjani, the leader of the Abadi community in Jumhuriat al-Badara, joined the Grand Mufti and the Chancellor late in the day; he was quite concerned aboout a rival Abadi sect sowing confusion among the Abadi community. The Ayatollah agreed however that there was every reason to believe New Helem was a spiritual movement unlikely to lead to blood purges among Ahmadi sects as had been the case in the distant past.

Since Jumhuriat al-Badara and Kafuristan have diplomatic relations and commercial air flights between their capitals, it was agreed the Embassy in al-Kasraj would explore the possibility with the New Helem Temple in Helem or al-Kasraj of a meeting between a small delegation from the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of the Grand Mufti and the Office of the Ayatollah of Abu Yacub running heavy to religious scholars to establish mutual understanding, respect and friendship.

Food and Agriculture Minister Jamal IX al-Sadr

EDUCATE THE BEDWI?

Ras al-Ulima, January 3, 4825: Jamal IX al-Sadr, Minister of Food and Culture, attended the al-Samania Muhafazah Camel Race Finals originating at the Book of the Prophet Oasis with his uncle, Narouz al-Sadr, formerly managing partner of Qat Oil Services, and other members of his extended family. The Minister was questioned by reporters on the problem of educating a large part of the Bedwi population. He responded:

Hizb Muasisiun is having to address the same problem all governments have faced. Our problem is that we are committed to providing education to all while at the same time protecting Majatran culture against destructive influences. Our Bedwi are concentrated in Al’Salmania. Very likely many were the Asli that came from Seleucia and Kafuristan prior to the more general settlement of Badara. It is even possible some were an even earlier migration. It is likely the Bedwi were tending their flocks, riding their camels and living in tents in our hills before the Prophet brought Terra the Book of Bliss.

Hizb Muasisiun does not want to erase the Bedwi way of life. On the other hand we want to make certain that any Bedwi who wants to be educated can be. It is often said they do not want our education for their children but wish them to only know the old ways. This can be an excuse for not trying and historically over the centuries has been the excuse. This is the dilemma.

Camel Races in Al'Salmania

When asked if he would continue in office with Hizb Muasisiun or go to Qat Oil Services as his uncle had done, al-Sadr replied:

As some of you may remember, my oil consortium career actually began with Majatran Leasing Corporation even though by training I was a chemical engineer; learned a lot about business as I oversaw getting leases from the nation and reselling them or using them by employing Qat Oil Services.

Looking at three directions; one is going back to Majatran Refining which fits my educational preparation. Another is staying in government where my real interest is development of the Navy. Or I may go to Qat Oil Services to deal with the direction of its tanker fleet. Not really sure yet.

President Hamad al-Radwan

GENE AND SEED VAULT PROJECT

Bier Qassem, February 14, 4826: Newly elected President Hamad al-Radwan indicated to supporters that another coalition cabinet with the Libertarian Party was very likely. The President addressed this and several other matters after departing the Defense Command Headquarters:

The election was very close and Hizb Muasisiun believes the best interest of the nation would be served by a cabinet of both the Libertarian Party and Hizb Muasisiun. This will not restrict each party pursuing its own legislative agenda and is expected to continue til the next election.

A delegation from the Office of the Israi Grand Mufti of Dar As Salam and the Office of the Abadi Ayatollah of Abu Jacub will travel to Helem in Kafuristan, the nation where New Helem, an Ahmadi religious group, originated. The delegation will seek a to make contact with representatives of New Helem with a view to obtaining a better understanding of its place in Ahmadism. Before returning to Jumhuriat al-Badara, the delegation will meet with our embassy staff which will then pass on information concerning the visit to the Office of the Chancellor.

Personnel from a number of Ministries have been assigned to the Gene and Seed Vault Project which will operate under the direction of the Office of the Chancellor. Qat Oil Services will provide shipping of the gene and seed samples collected by sea and Air Big Island will provide air transport. The National Institute of Technology and Majatran University will work in conjuction with the Gene and Seed Vault Project providing field staff for collection and scientific expertise. Arrangements for the support of the visiting scientific delegation from Seleucia will be handled by the Office of the Chancellor. The Chancellor and a number of the scientists involved in the project will travel to the Vault at the invitation of its Grand Master.

Chancellor Nessim el-Yamani

CHANCELLOR AT KING ALFRED CORONATION

Ras al-Haram, May 3, 4828: Chancellor Nessim el-Yamani met with government managers in the Education and Culture Ministry stationed in the Muhafazeh of Marakesh on ways to use primary and adult education courses and curriculum to prevent our Majatran and Ahmadi culture from simply being swept aside and forgotten because of overexposure to international influences toward denigration of local cultures. The chancellor observed:

It is true we have had more contact with other nations recently. I went to the coronation of King Alfred of Narikaton and Darnussia representing Jumhuriat al-Badara and congratulated the King and his government on putting Thallerism behind them and taking steps to end discrimination. We are expecting further visits and a new relationship to develop.

Foreign Minister Asim Seif has been busy. Cildania has expressed interest in a tunnel between our island nations, and our Foreign Minister is making the arrangements. We accordingly expect much more cultural interchange with our nearest neighbor.

We are also interacting with the international scientific community and especially with the scientists of Seleucia in the Gene and Seed Vault Project.

Further our Israi and Abadi religious leaders are investigating the new Ahmadi group New Helem. This may well lead to a significant change in our Ahmadi intellectual development. Hopefully time will tell.

We are also hoping the Majatran Economic Association survives the criticism coming from the World Congress. There have been times when our most significant international contacts were with other members of the MEA.

Which is all to say we are having more contact and should welcome it and learn from it rather than isolate ourselves. So your work is very important. We must diligently instill in our own people the desire to preserve and protect our unique cultural heritage; they and we must see it not as a burden but a joy that Akim has given us to share with our children and all who would enjoy it.
