Some of the Lands proposed are already Talmorian Imperial Soil (south of Talmoria which is shown as Luthorian) and have been so for hundreds of years as shown in this Bill from 2586

We will not tolerate any action against our colonies and we are prepared to defend ourselves with force. Imperial Troops have already been put on high alert in the colonial regions, with increased naval and air combat patrols.

OOC: Sadly Luthori does own those now my old friend. Talmoria fell and the colonies were taken over by the Zar Fed and Luthori. Talmoria is only the size of Talmoria.

See the Terran Map in the FAQ: http://tinyurl.com/yfk6flm.

Also talk to Darivan for Zard and Xanthos for those colonies in Luthori.

Sorry for taking Sekowo News up, contact me by mail if you have any questions lucas55.
Long Live the Empire!!!!

OOC: You will need to send links to any documentation proving this rather than just telling me where to go because Talmoria has no record of this and even before I was reactivated other parties have been operating in this areas for years.

LIBERAL DEMOCRATS WIN MAJORITY AND PRESIDENCY (The Sekowan Times)

Image
Above: George Takawa, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, delivering his victory speech after official results were released.

The Liberal Democrats pulled off a major political victory in the general election yesterday, winning a comfortable majority in the National Assembly and re-securing the presidency just six months after the previous snap election was held.

The Liberal Democratic Party won 271 of the 500 seats in the National Assembly, while the opposition Aryan Socialist Revolutionary Front won 229. The results were largely consistent with opinion polls and predictions by political analysts in the past few weeks.

John Mason of the Liberal Democratic Party won a third term for the presidency as well, garnering 54.7% of the popular vote. Opposition candidate Charles Stephenson of the Aryan Socialist Revolutionaries obtained 45.3% of votes in comparison.

Enthusiastic, supporters of the Liberal Democrats crowded the party headquarters as votes were counted last night. A thunderous cheer erupted when the election commission announced the final results.

George Takawa, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, addressed the crowd yesterday in his victory speech. "This is an important chapter in Sekowan history," Takawa said. "The people have expressed their support for democratic rule, for a compassionate government that cares, and more power in the hands of provinces. Our new government will not disappoint the people!"

The Liberal Democrats are expected to vote in a new cabinet once the next session of the National Assembly is convened, with Takawa as the premier. As well, it is widely anticipated that the new government will introduce a revised budget, eliminating wasteful spending - particularly in the defense ministry - while implementing across-the-board tax reductions.

The election was the first to be held since the National Commonwealth Party was disbanded soon after the dissolution of the National Assembly.

TAKAWA CALLS FOR RETURN OF SEKOWAN TERRITORIES (The Sekowan Times)

In his first worldwide address yesterday, President George Takawa calls for the return of territories that were sold off to various nations several decades ago during the so-called "fiscal crisis".

He called for the repatriation of these territories - which were organized into states during the time of the First Federal Commonwealth - "in the interest of reaffirming the principle of self-governance within territories that were formerly part of Sekowo...allowing for the repatriation of Sekowan citizens still residing in these areas".

As Premier, Takawa attempted to negotiate the return of Sekowan territories currently occupied by Greater Hulstria. His proposals were rejected by the Greater Hulstrian government, citing issues of national security.

The federal government has indicated it is "willing to pay a sum of 1,000,000,000 SEK for every district returned to Sekowo". At this cost, the return of all former territories would cost the government at least 50 to 100 billion SEK.

Critics argue that the proposal is not in the interest of Sekowo. Jerry Huki, professor of political science at the University of Grandminster, points out that the money "can be used to better pad the numerous health and social programs implemented by the government in recent years". The government maintains that there is no possibility of a shortage of funds however, citing that the 2908 budget had yielded a surplus of somewhere in the order of 100 to 300 billion SEK that largely remains.

The Commission on the Legitimacy of Sekowan Decolonization has yet to produce its report on the matter. The original "non-binding" due date was set at December 1, 2914.

OOC: This is the audio version of the Sekowan Times article "Takawa Calls for Return of Sekowan Territories", and is intended as a feasibility test for the establishment of Radio Sekowo. If successful, Sekowan News Network will be succeeded by Radio Sekowo.

By the way, that's not my voice in the recording, if anyone's wondering. :P

General Hidetora Ichimonji Criticises the LDP Administration, saying that the failure to regain lost territory comes from neglect of the Military
Image
"No one will take us seriously, especially great powers like Greater Hulstria, if we don't have a strong military and a sterner approach to these foreign policy issues" said Hidetora Ichimonji in a private conversation with colleagues recorded one of SNN correspondents "we all know that the LDP favours a policy of lite pacifism, but they can't expect to arrange the return of our territory by asking nicely and offering them money. I'm sick of it, we need to frighten the Gaijin a bit."

Though made in private, these comments have outraged Liberal politicians who accused the general of undermining government policy over the return of 'sold' territories. "This kind of aggressive talk will only antagonise other nations, setting back the return of these territories by years. The general should apologise for his reckless comments, if he does not, I see no reason why we should humour his views by keeping him in high command" said one MP. General Hidetora has so have refused to apologise for his comments, denying it was "some kind of gaffe. I expressed my views to my colleagues in the manner I always have, I've been told that for me to criticise the LDP in particular. But they are the only political party, who else should I blame?" He stepped up his criticism, claiming LDP foreign policy was 'utopian and ridiculous' and saying he would be glad if a viable alternative should replace them. He refused to answer questions about whether he intended to leave the military and enter politics.

Right-wing Politicians form Imperial Rule Association
Image
The Imperial Rule Association believes in militarism, free market Capitalism and conservative values. If elected, they will attempt to create a shogunate, restore the Emperor and use an aggressive policy to return lost territories.
Party Manifesto wrote:1) We believe in a strong military, in mandatory military service and in the fostering of a martial culture via celebration of Bushidō. We believe Sekowo should be reformed into a authoritarian Shogunate.

2) We believe in using the Free Market to strengthen our nation, in the value of hard work and austerity. Individuals should have no right to any form of welfare expect pensions.

3) We believe in the Shinto religion, and seek to suppress the anti-National faiths such as Buddhism, Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Shinto shall be the religion of the state, foreign missionaries expelled.

4) The Emperor must be restored, and all territories lost to Gaijin powers restored to Sekowo.

5) The power of the Unions and Workers organisation is a threat to the nation and must be challanged.
