Sekowo to restore Monarchy
The Government of Sekowo has issued a press release inviting any willing party to become the new monarch of Sekowo.
Under government plans the monarch would govern with little power, with more power being given to nobility and local governments.

It seems like the end of Sekowo as a republic.

High Commissioner Passes
The nation is in a state of national mourning as the first High Commissioner has passed away, succeeded by his eldest daughter.
He had only ruled for seven years before his death, from 4268/9 as Regent to 4275 as High Commissioner.

He had ruled very conservatively, pushing the government to enact controls on the press and attempting to maintain stability.
His daughter has indicated that she will rule in some ways more liberally, and will push the government to massively expand and create a true welfare state.

High Commissioner meets with leaders of Kamist Faction
May 2nd 4276

Today the High Commissioner was seen meeting with members of a small Kamist sect.
The sect she met with is considered to be a very fringe group. It advocates for a standardisation of Kamist practises and recognition of only a small amount of deities, belief in a powerful, central deity as head of this pantheon and belief in a Hosian-like afterlife. Many of the sects other beliefs are in-line with traditional Sekowan Kamism.

New party formed, can it defeat the incumbent one?
ISHINAWA - A new party has been formed called Change. As the name indicates, it plans on bringing change to Sekowo. The question is, can it really bring change? The Jiyu Party of Sekowo has dominated politics and controlled the government for decades and it has had no opposition since 3394. Change is the first party since then to even consider challenge the party that has led this country for so much time. A socialist society where everyone is equal, no animals are killed for human pleasure, spirituality is part of people's lives and peace is part of every action, that's their goal. If it's achieavable, only time can say, but Change is fighting for it and promises to be the first party in decades to provide a real challenge to the incumbents. The party hasn't spoken to the media yet. Its spokesperson, Saki Hamasaki, said the party is investing on campaigning door to door and talking directly to people to discuss the problems they face and to find solutions to them. If that strategy will be worth it only time can say but it's at least worthy of compliments and admiration. It's not everyday that we see politicians knock on doors and care enough to listen to people's concerns.
