The anti-governmental protests that began in the countrysides of the various Kanjorian regions finally comes to the capital.

There's anger in the streets and the protestors are demanding a change of government.

Mike Paxton, a 47 year old Community organiser who, having recently won the by-election in an Atyrian constituency to be elected to the chamber of deputies has managed to rally the protestors behind his party the "Parti Révolutionnaire du Kanjor (PRK)"

The people have taken to the street and they're demanding not just a change in government, but a change in the social fabric of this nation. I will be running for Gouverneur General and I will deliver on this promise

Mike Paxton has been duly elected the Gouverneur General of the Royaume-Uni de Kanjor, and the PRK has won a crushing majority in the Chambre des deputés, winning nearly every seat.

The main aims of this government is to complete the revolution. We firmly believe that a monarchy has no place in the modern world and as such we have a duty and moral obligation to right the wrongs of the past. Which is we we will be putting forward the Act of the Kanjorian Republic.

This bill will return our country into a republic, Queen Catherine IV failed her people. She failedto intervene while this country burned at the hands of an incompetent Gouverneur General. She showed us that her position is merely as that of a relic, a symbol of days gone and its time that we reduce her and her position into the history books where it belongs.

PARTY LEADER INJURED

Federation Canrille Party Headquarters, August 13, 5090: The Executive Committee of Federation Canrille (FC) met at its headquarters in Picard today to consider a replacement for FC Party Leader Martine Courvoisier. The very popular and highly respected former Gouverneur General was hit by a bus driven by an inattentive driver while she was returning from the market with vegetables. Although expected to live, she has quite painful fractures of her wrist, shoulder and hip which will require extensive surgery and therapy.

Former Premier Maurice Corap was considered by many to be “next in line,’ but Corap suggested instead former Foreign Minister Marguerite Rochambeau be the Party Leader who would concentrate on rallying supporters for future elections and would likely be the FC candidate for head of state. Rochambeau is best known for her tenure as World Congress Representative.

Corap indicated he planned to offer to serve as FC Floor leader in the Chamber of Deputies. This suggestion was adopted by the FC Executive Committee and most likely will be approved by the upcoming Party Congress.

FEDERATION CANRILLE QUESTIONS NEED FOR DEFICIT

Chamber of Deputies, August 27, 5091: Federation Canrille Floor Leader Maurice Corap raised a question in the Chamber of Deputies as follows:

On behalf of Federation Canrille, I would ask the President, Finance Minister and Premier why there is a need for a five billion Kanjorean Rupee deficit in the current government budget. Do they see some merit in a deficit for the sake of a deficit? Or was there some other purpose in spending more than we collect in revenue?

Asked by CLAIRON PICARD if the current Election Cycle Bill would extend the current election cycle by three years, Corap responded:

I have no idea. Pretty sure that is Parti Revolutionnaire du Kanjor intent. But do not know if it will succeed in doing that or not.

MONASTIC ORDER REPAYS DEBT

Mavigny, March 26, 5093: First Master Drusus Aetius of the Contemplative Order of Occidentalium travelled to the Chapter House of the Order near Mavigny where he met with Prior Gaius Flavius and other personnel of the monastery. The First Master also celebrated the daily religious offices with the monks and shared their meals for several days.

The occasion of the visit was that the Chapter was in a position to return the rather large fund given to it in 4995 by the Order upon its establishment for the initial expenses of starting the Priory and as an emergency fund.

The sales of upscale mustard, pinot noir vintages, hard crusted soft cheese and Ste. Heloise’s Remedy have generated substantial revenue and made it possible for the priory to return the fund with a substantial amount of interest.

Two other matters were discussed. With seven subpriories operating in the mountainous countryside of Martois, the Order is thinking it may be time to build an Abbey with the Abbot overseeing the growing number of priories.

The other matter was that Prior Flavius wanted the Order to look at whether the financial success of the Chapter was undermining the quality of discourse in the Order’s quest for identifying and promoting a loving spirit. After participating in a regular Chapter discussion of how depression can undercut efforts to emulate a loving spirit, the First Master assured the Prior the chapter was still on the right track.

APC IN KANJOR STILL STAYING OUT OF POLITICS

Atyr, September 26, 5093: Archbishop of Atyr Lucien de Beauharnais, Primate of Kanjor, met with Bishop of Kanjo Etienne Augereau about political activity by priests in Numineux Region. Bishop Augereau requested the conference to be sure he was in line with the thinking of the Archbishop.

Several items were at issue. They included whether priests could attend political party meetings, join political parties, hold party offices, run for office and hold political meetings in church facilities. Also whether priests could address political issues from the pulpit and join political issue groups, sign petitions or use church facilities for political issue groups.

With the political issue of monarchy a big part of national discourse, priests are addressing questions to the Bishop of Kanjo about political participation aware the Archbishop has spoken out against it.

Archbishop de Beauharnais reiterated his general opposition to political activity by the Church but indicated attending a party meeting was permissible but hosting a party event on Church facilities, holding a party office or running for office was not. Signing a petitionn or attending meetings generally is permitted.

Issues proved to be much more tricky. The Archbishop decided issues such as feeding the poor, refraining from adultery or building hospitals were fine for joining an advocacy group, sermons, parish facility use would be acceptable but others such as the monarchy, or specific legislation would not. And that would be dividing line – if a party was advocating a position or there was specific legislation being advanced, sermons and membership or leadership positions in groups should be avoided.

There were some exceptions but the Archbishop would specifically make those exceptions should they occur. A distinction he believes is critical is the Church should advocate positions such as refraining from adultery but should not be involved in advocating legislation to that effect.

The Archbishop encouraged the Bishop to listen to the priests and help them stay within the parameters and to bring any specific questions he had to him.

ROCHAMBEAU IS FEDERATION CANRILLE CANDIDATE

Federation Canrille Party Headquarters, September 13, 5095: Former Foreign Minister Marguerite Rochambeau is the Federation Canrille (FC) candidate for Head of State selected at its Party Congress. Asked by CLAIRON PICARD if she expected to win, Rochambeau replied:

Never know what voters are really going to do. What Federation Canrille is trying to do is win a majority in the Chamber of Deputies. If that happens we will be able to do two things. We can restore our limited monarchy and we can eliminate the unnecessary budget deficit since we will be able to form a government and propose a budget. It is while ago but our party was formed because of confiscatory taxes and we have not forgotten our origins.

If we can reach 2/3 of the legislative seats there is more restoration we can do. If we should also win the Head of State office it will aid greatly in promotion of our economy and trade relations and maintaining the safety net since we will have a unified government.

Be that as it may, this election is generally seen as a referendum on restoration of the monarchy. We do not dispute this analysis but welcome it. In any event, Federation Canrille will abide by the result.

FEDERATION CANRILLE RESTORING MONARCHY

ATYR, May 15, 5096: CLAIRON PICARD asked President Marguerite Rochambeau what Federation Canrille planned now that it had control of the Chamber of Deputies and the government, and she responded:

We have started with balancing the budget and restoring Catherine V to the throne of the Royaume Uni de Kanjor. Some of the names and designations involved will take a little longer but we are working on that.

We will be examining the safety net to insure that it is sound and taking steps to promote prosperity particularity through international trade. This is no easy task. We will also be strengthening our military defenses and continuing to pursue friendly relations with our neighbors.

The Parti Revolutionnaire du Kanjor was elected to govern our nation for eighteen years and we are not approaching our task with the view everything they did was wrong so anything they did should be changed. Not at all. We will be examining our current structure to see what changes should be made for better government.

We do feel greatly honored that the Sovereign People would entrust us with the responsibility of leading our nation forward once again.

Minister of Defense d'Armagnac

NAVAL AIR PURCHASES

Defense Ministry, October 19, 5097: The Chief of Naval Operations and his immediate staff met with Defense Minister Honore d”Armagnac and Defense Ministry and National Defense Staff concerning adding some anti ship aircraft and possibly some air superiority units to the 50th Naval Air Wing (Escadre) currently containing two squadrons (escadrons) of anti submarine aircraft.

The Navy initially preferred adding a squadron of the Fantome 2000 D as an anti ship squadron and a squadron of Rafale F4.1 for air superiority. However, because of the difference in maximum speed the request has been modified to 15 of the Fantome 2000-5F fighter bombers manufactured by the Kanjorian Branch of Dimomt Aviation for the National Air Fforce and 15 of the Rafale F4.1 multirole fighters a variant produced in Kanjor by NPKDE, a Kanjor derivative of Canrillaise Defense Enterprises.

The 15 Fantome 2000-5F’s will be delivered over a seven year period and constitute the 10th Naval Air Squadron (Escadron) of the 50th Naval Air Wing (Escadre) responsible for air cover while the 15 Rafale F4.1’s produced over eight years will constitute the 15th Naval Air Squadron (Escadron) responsible for anti ship capacity.

The Defense Minister has approved this request of the Chief of Naval Operations after receiving the advice of the National Defense Staff and the Defense Ministry personnel assigned for review it.

The Fantome 2000-5F is a multi role single engine single seat lightweight fighter. The engine is of a single shaft after burning turbofan design. It has a maximum speed of 2336 km/hour, a range of 1550 km and a service ceiling of 17060 meters with a rate of climb of 285meters per second. The Fantome 2000 – 5F is armed with two 30 mm revolver cannons and has 18 pods for unguided rockets and 9 hardpoints that can be used for air to air missiles, and air to surface missiles, as well as modular or laser guided bombs and unguided bombs.

The Rafale F4.1is a twin engine delta wing multirole fighter capable of interdiction, imposing air supremacy, ground support, aerial reconnaissance, anti ship strikes and in depth strikes in adverse weather conditions and with great agility It features electronically scanned passive multi mode radar and a reinforced undercarriage to reduce stress. It has two engines with afterburners featuring pollution reducing combustion chambers, single crystal turbine blades, powder metallurgy disks, and technology to reduce the radar and infrared signature.

The Rafale F4.1 has a maximum speed of 1912 km/hour, a combat range of 1850 km, a service ceiling of 15,835 meters and a rate of climb of 304.8 meters/second. It is armed with one 30 mm autocannon and 14 hardpoints which can be used for air to air, air to fround or air to surface missiles.
