Medinat Dpt. seeks extended ties with Bannerhafen to stabilise Yeudish trade
May 5444

Image

Yishelem, Beiteynu - With both the recently repeated slaps to the commercial aspects of the Yeudish Neset and Bannerhafen's own immense economic growth by the merits of "spot on" diplomacy and commercial deals in sight, the Medinat Department has opened up communication channels for the first time in centuries with Beiteynu's Artanian neighbour to the north. An attempt, it seems, to further solidify Yeudish diplomacy and commerce in the region, especially as bilateral relations with Eroncourt "drift apart" and Deltaria's own awakening in the continent poses new challenges to the global Beiteynuese network.

Adding to the recessive elements of Beiteynuese shipping is the continuous decentralisation of the Vamaj Network, of which Narikaton & Darnussia has led the charge in recent years by playing a pivotal role in the "rerouting" of both Yeudish and Luthorian elements in oil and gas distribution.

However, this "friendly competition" has relied more on its competitive aspects, thus far. What changed the game entirely was Bannerhafen's entry and vocal support of the JAMS agreement, followed up with the deployment of naval forces in Himmelshtern and their participation in the Beiteynuese Naval Command's doctrines in extending military cooperation with joint patrols and exercises to further assimilate Artanian ratifiers in working together with the MSCO in the Migrant's Pass. The change of pace has also been steadily swaying Fort William back towards alignment with Yishelem.

The Medinat Department will thus seek to broker Bannerhafen's ratification of the 2 primary Beiteynuese frameworks of diplomacy and trade, while it has left open the possibility of forming a more extended partnership down the road, especially as the Beiteynuese Government begins to tackle the dissolution of the Beiteynuese - Lourennais Alliance Agreement; with a massive reform of the pillars of the Yeudish Neset in the works, as a result of it.

Those citing this as the result of the B&L "crack", are vehement that it's more about the "vices of idealism" in a world "shackled to its merits", presumably referring to the pivotal agreement recently reached between Dundorf and a Lourenne that has, for lack of a better term, "disarmed Artania".

Yeudish Neset takes center stage as the B&L "divorce" is underway
June 5444

Yishelem, Beiteynu - In 5317, Eroncourt and Yishelem entered into of the most tectonic alliances the world had seen in centuries, reshaping global diplomacy by indirectly paving the way for the collapse of Dorvish hegemony and opening up Terra to new, and exciting prospects. The whole thing began taking a life of its own 16 years prior, when the Medinat Dpt. and the RMIA first saw "eye to eye" on a "common agenda" of deterrence and the necessities of geopolitical complexity.

Since then, both have engaged in a whimsical dance of quid pro quo, subtly "looking the other way" on numerous occasions; with one tapping into the other's global network of relations and the other masking its ambivalent relations on a global network, well, behind the other tapping into it.

But as that symbiotic relationship loses its base of having a common "deterring" agenda, the symbiotic relationship also loses its purpose.

The Medinat Dpt. released the following statement, confirming that the termination of the B&L is currently underway:

The termination of the Beiteynuese - Lourennais Alliance Agreement concerns the termination of military related provisos revolving around the mutual defence pact compartment of the aforementioned treaty. As such, neither side has expressed any interest in terminating its diplomatic, commercial and non-military elements.

However, as all elements were built around the mutual defence essence of the treaty, the Medinat Department will work closely with the Royal Ministry of International Affairs and multiple entities of both the Beiteynuese and Lourennais Governments over the course of the next 8 years to ensure that a smooth transition takes place from the B&L framework to other adjacent agreements already in place under the extended Yeudish Neset.

First and foremost, to ensure the viability and confidence of international markets by the extensive footprint of trade and commerce between 2 of the world's biggest economies, we will pursue Eroncourt's entry to the Beiteynuese Framework of Trade & Commerce, which essentially covers the same economic layout as the B&L.

The Beiteynuese Framework of Diplomacy & Friendship will serve as the platform of bilateral relations between the Homeland and the United Kingdom.

Finally, to ensure no disruptions take place in cultural, educational, scientific and intelligence areas, we have been hard at work at introducing the Beiteynuese Partnership Agreement, which is set to gradually replace existing frameworks with other states, as well, under a unified platform for the Yeudish Neset.

That agreement will also secure the viability of intelligence channels pertaining to the AllComm and the O3 Intelligence Summit, on an agenda that both sides have stipulated as of great significance in avoiding unintended collateral as the mutual defence pact of the B&L fades away.

Insofar as the Moledet Fleet deployment of the Second Royal Fleet and the Zaar Fleet in Alduria are concerned, we cannot comment at this time.

The Medinat Dpt. is also rumoured to be working in introducing a mutual defence pact framework, which, together with the partnership agreement, are likely to begin replacing 1-1 agreements with other states into the more unified essence of the Yeudish Neset; extending the 2 central documents to 4.

Deltaria's increasingly active role in Majatra, coupled with the termination of Eroncourt's mutual defence pact with Yishelem, also leaves the question of Lourenne's cooperation with the MSCO, since the joint B&L deployments in Alduria have played a central role in military cooperation in the Sea of Lost Souls.

What remains vaguely interesting is royal relations, as Prince Royal Gabriel remains next in line to ascend on the Throne of Yishelem.

Rosh HaMemshala comments on the dissolution of the Beiteynu-Lourenne Alliance
August 5444 (backdated) - PM Levy confirmed the gradual military drawdown over 8 years, reiterating that trade and diplomatic ties will be preserved between the Homeland and the United Kingdom.

Yishelem, Beiteynu - Earlier today, Prime Minister Noah Levy held a press conference at the Office of the Rosh HaMemshala addressing the gradual termination of the landmark Beiteynu-Lourenne Alliance Agreement, originally signed in 5317 during the tenure of then Rosh HaMemshala Nathan Weiss and Lourenne's Haute Chancelier, Mirabelle de Marigny. The "tectonic alliance" was so significant that Prime Minister Weiss subsequently flew to Eroncourt (his first state-visit) at that time to celebrate the passage of the said agreement.

In his statement, Prime Minister Levy said:
The alliance between Beiteynu and Lourenne has been hugely consequential not just for our two nations, but for Terra as a whole. Together, we have promoted stability and deterrence against global threats for over a century. And for that, my deepest gratitude goes to the people of Lourenne.

Mr. Levy continued saying, "as Lourenne continues down a path towards further integration with like minded nations like Dundorf, our interests and priorities have begun to diverge," referencing Lourenne's humanitarian alliance with Dundorf. Nevertheless, the Medinat Department has already begun procedures to oversee the eight-year withdrawal procedures stipulated in Article 1 of the alliance agreement.

Levy then extended his well wishes to King Elias Ishmael IV recovering from a minor heart attack triggered by news of the impending divorce. "While change can be unsettling, I am confident His Royal Majesty recognizes that this reset brings opportunities to shape even stronger bonds with our allies across Terra." The Prime Minister concluded his statement with a personal confession:
I still vividly remember my grandfather recounting as a young man when Rosh HaMemshala Weiss and Chancellor de Marigny cemented our two great nations' fates hand in hand. So I cannot deny a touch of sadness seeing this alliance agreement dissolving after more than a century.

BeiGov extends condolences to the Dolgavan people on train derailment
November 5444

Yishelem, Beiteynu - A train derailment in Dolgava has caused the death of 14 people, with Prime Minister Veronika Witting making a heartfelt and rather strict statement on the situation, noting how the Dolgavan Government would make a renewed commitment towards both the investigation of the accident and transportation and safety measures. The incident drew the attention of the Beiteynuese Government, with Head of the Medinat Department Sneakyeth Avodi extending condolences and prayers on behalf of the Yeudi People, dismissing rocky relations as "inconsequential in the face of loss and tragedy".

Part of his statement:

On behalf of the Yeudi People and the Beiteynuese Government, the Medinat Department extends its sincerest condolences to the Dolgavan people. They have been struck with a tragedy that should befall no one.

Our prayers are with you.

Medinat Dpt. submits Neset Repositioning Act to Knesset
May 5445

- Palace of Moreshet perplexed with situation in Luthori; Meleh Elias Ishmael IV expresses "deep sadness"
- Recessive elements in shipping and finance continue to stagnate the Yeudish Neset from ongoing "silent crisis" in Dankuk
- BeiGov continues to cast confidence in active channels with Narikaton & Darnussia

Image

Yishelem, Beiteynu - Hinted in the media last year, the Medinat Department has been hard at work at realigning the backbone of the Yeudish Neset under a more "toned down" and "modular" framework, which seems to move Beiteynu's foreign policy "away from the spotlight" on the international arena.

While the approach may not be that conventional - the modularity of the new set of 4 tiered agreements is rather unfamiliar from the traditional build up of 1-1 agreements between states - it is certainly a move not that unfounded. The steady decline of regional influence by the merits of decentralisation in the Vamaj Network which now spans 4 continents, Deltaria's ascension in continental leadership and the independent rise of steadfast Beiteynuese partners like Kundrati coupled with the recent "divorce" in the mutual defence pact with Eroncourt and Lourenne's own tectonic agreement with Dundorf, have all paved the way for the "diminishment" of Beiteynuese dominance in terms of geopolitical activity across Terra.

Although the influence, reach and span is still there, the game of leadership has changed; moving Yishelem to a secondary "right hand" role in recent decades, as its "washing down" through various vehicles such as the MSCO, JAMS and Equifund have essentially negated the need for active Beiteynuese presence.

On Deltaria, Sneakyeth Avodi made the following statement:

We have enjoyed a whimsical friendly rivalry thus far in the continent's leadership via the General Framework for Diplomatic Relations and the Beiteynu - Deltaria Trade Agreement. More importantly, our extensive cooperation via the MSCO's mutual defence pact, our joint operations and their shared access and command of the AllComm have all represented a solid understanding between Yishelem and Cahtica in the grand scheme of things.

Ideally we'd want Deltaria to join both our diplomatic and trade frameworks, on our end, as well. It will definitely help assuage Beiteynuese minds as we're currently looking at Deltaria's more direct and active ascension in regional affairs. Think of both treaties as confidence boosters in Yeudish nonchalantness.

We realise the topic of consultation in security affairs in northwestern Majatra has represented a thorn in the past with Deltaria. We'd imagine Cahtica would like to be made aware if, let's say, we planned on parking an aircraft carrier in Jelbe next month.

On Kalopia:

Beiteynu has always respected Kalopian wishes with the Official Neutrality and Diplomatic Treaty and have honoured their choice to stay out of the MSCO, without prejudice, considering the country's steady demeanour and gravitas in the region for centuries.

We are very interested in alleviating some hindrances in trade, however, should Helios consider joining up our framework for commerce.

After all, one of the biggest and oldest Yeudish financial institutions, is in fact, of Kalopian origin.

On Istalia, Badara and Kafuristan:

Alongside Kundrati, Istalia has been one of our oldest allies during what Professor Shteman dubbed as Beiteynu's "emergence era".

However, the Beiteynuese - Istalian Alliance Agreement has long not been exercised; taking the fact that we disbanded our Zaar Fleet deployment in 5425, it no longer makes sense to uphold the platform. Romula is a member of our diplomatic framework and we still share a mutual defence pact as members of the MSCO.

The HAA 70 has been "out of order" since the Bloody Coup of Kafuristan, when they shot their own foot. We absolutely thank Badara for their pivotal assistance during the crisis, but the treaty has also long been considered defunct, especially with the Vamaj Network in place.

We are definitely interested to extend relations with Badara in the future, especially in trade & commerce, should the opportunity arise.

On terminating the alliances with Zardugal and Pontesi:

Similarly to Istalia, our allied relations with Zardugal and Pontesi have been mostly via the MSCO. Both are members of our diplomatic framework and we have enjoyed solid trade with Zardugal within our trade & commerce framework, including the Vamaj Network. Beiteynu remains interested in keeping channels open.

On Pontesi, the Yeudi Homeland will always pursue mutual alignment, especially in affairs pertaining to security in the Jelbek Peninsula and the Migrant's Pass.

In the same context, we're withdrawing from the Zoo Alliance, as well.

On Selucia and Cildania:

Since the onset of the 54th century and a little bit before, we've aligned with Selucia through the Beiteynuese - Selucian Partnership Agreement.

Considering we've been moving towards the modularised format, we'd rather see a transition to our diplomatic and commercial frameworks, instead. Ideally we would be very inclined to have Auroria enter the partnership agreement, as well as the AllComm should they wish to continue participating with us on security and intelligence affairs in the northwestern regions of Majatra, especially taking into account their close proximity to the Migrant's Pass.

As they are not members of the MSCO, we will not be pursuing a mutual defence pact with Selucia, at this time.

Relations with Cildania remain, eh, complicated. We can definitely acknowledge a friendly rivalry in Majatran trade. However, Qart Qildar still remains a member of our diplomatic framework and a member of the MSCO, henceforth sharing a mutual defence pact with us on a continental level.

On Luthori:

The Beiteynuese – Luthorian Partnership Agreement has been superseded by the alliance, which we will continue to honour. This is just some housekeeping.

The NRA/5445 has been opened up for voting in the Knesset.

Naval withdrawal from Alduria marks last Zaar Fleet deployment abroad
July 5445

Image

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - As part of the gradual phase out of military provisos in the ongoing 8-year termination of the B&L, the MOD confirmed the Royal Assembly's request in withdrawing the Zaar Fleet deployment of 9 warships currently stationed in the joint Aldurian-Lourennais base in Alduria. The force has played a rather "intermediary" role in helping bridge coordination between the Canrillaise and the MSCO; both in terms of operations in the Sea of Lost Souls together with the CMRF as well as in response to the 2 crises in Kafuristan and Badara and the onset of the century.

Suffice to say, with Deltaria's increased role in continental affairs throughout the last decades, it remains to be seen whether Eroncourt will continue to pursue involvement in Majatran affairs or whether any "hiccups" will arise with the MSCO - largely experts have surmised the former, citing the B&L framework.

Similarly, the Second Royal Fleet of Lourenne under the structure of Moledet Fleets in Himmelshtern will withdraw and relocate to Alduria.

The 9 warships will be retasked to the Lekavot Fleet to "fill the gap" and further assist in the JAMS agreement.

Armed forces in Himmelshtern salute Lourennais fleet
August 5445

Image

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - Meleh Elias Ishmael IV attended an event earlier in his capacity as a former Rear Admiral of the Beiteynuese Naval Command in "escorting" the exit of the Lourennais Second Royal Fleet. The entire navy in Himmelshtern and all branches and divisions of the Magafaim and Skyforce in the entire city saluted the fleet for a grinding 17 minutes under the excruciating heat, as the 14 Lourennais warships headed westward to open waters.

Representatives from multiple organisations of the Beiteynuese Government attended the event, including the Minister of Defence, in paying their respects to one of the most steadfast Yeudish partners in thousands of years; and a tribute to the end of one of Terra's most pivotal alliances.

Photos caught the King in the distance seemingly tearing up; his face strict and unmoving under the Majatran sun.

Kirlawa and N&D to join the Yeudish Neset; Kirlawa joins JAMS
June 5446

Yishelem, Beiteynu - In a little bit of a twist regardless of the Beiteynuese Artanian tour's efforts last decade, Kirlawa has decided to both enact diplomatic and commercial relations with Yishelem, as well as throw its support to the JAMS agreement. Although there have been talks of trade revolving around gold reserves, Kirlawa's position in the far north has not exactly made it relevant in continental affairs in the southern tip of Artania. That, and coupled with the overall sentiment that both Kirlawa and Aloria have traditionally been under the Dorvish sphere of influence, with which the Beiteynuese have always had troubles with.

Suffice to say, the tectonic Dundorfian - Lourennais alignment has apparently helped break the cycle in that neighbourhood of Artania.

Closer to home, the curious and indirect relations with Bannerhafen have seemingly offered a renewed platform for both countries to come closer, with N&D moving forward in ratifying 2 out of 4 agreements of the Yeudish Neset. A few statements from both ends indicate that both the Vamaj Network and N&D's vocal and actionable support of the JAMS agreement are the primary reasons that have sparked interest in affirming closer bilateral relations in recent years.

Curiously, N&D has been confirmed as set to join the AllComm, as well; Beiteynu's network of satellites for intelligence and military use.

Chocofalafel hits the streets of Himmelshtern
August 5446

Image

Yishelem, Beiteynu - We met with local restaurant owner Svenala Ewudi in our hunt to uncover the latest culinary mystery emerging in Beiteynu's northwestern city; it seems, this rising "palate cleanser" is the latest fusion of chickpeas and hummus with the signature dishes of other countries in the Yeudish Neset. This time around, Narikaton & Darnussia's love of meatballs. But how exactly did meatballs, chickpeas and hummus merge into a chocolate falafel?

Svenala Ewudi had our minds blown:

[with a heavy accent] I mean, I have travelled around the vorld but my hometown vill always be a village close to Bannerhafen. Ve've loved meatballs there. So vhen I came to this country I mixed meatballs vith a little bit of hummus dipping.

But customers kept confusing my meatballs vith falafel. So one day I vas really emotional, vhen I vent back to change an order from meatballs to falafel, I accidentally dropped the meatballs that vere covered in hummus into a bowl of chocolate. I vas sad remember, so I didn't really clean it up and forgot to change it.

They loved it!!

It seems this accidental sweet and savoury taste of this new delicacy somewhat hits it home with diplomacy, as well.
