Solidifying relations with Selucia

Yishelem, Beiteynu - The new Partnership Agreement is expected to solidify the rekindled Beiteynuese-Selucian bilateral relations on multiple fronts, with joint investments and educational initiatives sitting at the forefront of a partnership that is intended to offer solid stability and prosperity in the northwestern region of Majatra for decades to come. The agreement comes in series of diplomatic efforts by the Beiteynuese Government in recent decades to affirm its position as a mediator of worldwide trade and a network of diplomatic relations spanning from northwest Majatra to Artania, Keris, northwestern Dovani, central Seleya and all the way back to southeast Majatra with Istalia representing one of Beiteynu's oldest and strongest allies.

Pertaining to the safety of maritime commerce at sea in the region, which has been subject to some extended levels of piracy throughout the years, especially in the shores of Barmenistan and around Cildania, both governments discussed the possibility of joint naval exercises to increase the preparedness of the Selucian navy in protecting trade routes, as well as train the Beiteynuese Naval Command in the deployment and undertaking of operations extending beyond the shorelines of Beiteynu, with Pontesi and now Selucia providing Beitenyu with the opportunity to further invest in its navy and firmly secure the Migrant's Pass and its surrounding areas to protect international trade and secure the safety of its neighbouring partners.

YISHELEM - On an eventful evening on Friday, 10 June, a famous environmental activist addressed her followers on social media, about what would be a founding congress of a left-wing party in Yishelem. Miriam Shalev, 41, a leader of the environmental non-governmental organization Pula Ekologit (Ecological Action), uploaded a video on a Friday evening on her social media pages, inviting "all those fighting for the rights of everything and everyone" to join her on Sunday in Yishelem, as she and other organizations would unite to create a "more radical, progressive and caring alternative" to the current government. Together with Koteret, we decided to follow the progressive forces congress.

Not small, not big, but let's say, a medium-sized arena of a few thousand people in the capital, some with flags of an already revealed logo of a new party, some with the flags of their organizations respectively, some even had Beiteynu flags, which is unusual for left-wing gatherings. Then, we were given bulletins of today's program, and it was full of speeches from famous activists, including not just Beiteynuese activists. Then Shalev arrived accompanied by a round of applause, as she's entering an era of national politics as a leader of a party. First of all, she officially named the party, calling it Maavar (מעבר, lit. 'transition'), which is an acronym for the official party name, aka Sustainable Future Party (מפלגה עתידית בת קיימא, tr: Miflaga Atidit Bat Kyyma). Her speech lasted full 30 minutes, in which she criticized and praised the government, and called for further and more radical changes. Shalev, however, agreed with the foreign policy, despite proposing less intervention in other countries' politics. "Crisis management is a really good thing to do, foreign aid is also a good thing to do, but that's where the line ends. We should not intervene, we should be consultants at best", - she argued. Shalev said that the party is open for talks with BPA, HH, and communists while ruling out any agreement with Mafdal and MY. Shalev declared that the party will support current PM Isaac Levy for his re-election, but emphasized that she and the now-formed Maavar will argue for constitutional amendments, reforming Beiteynu back to the parliamentary republic, with directly elected President, instead of PM, and division of power between the head of government and head of state.

With communists and Maavar forming, Beiteynu is entering a new era of even bigger political division on the left and right blocs. Will those actually form, we don't know yet, but we do know that everyone should look closely at what's happening in our political arena, and participate in all possible elections, because now, truly every vote counts.

Yishelem, Beiteynu - Tikkun Haganah, Beiteynu's premier manufacturer of battle tanks, artillery and personnel carriers has secured a 382.25M LOD defense contract issued by the government of Kundrati in par with its extensive efforts on the modernisation of its armed forces, including the steady increase of its preparedness and capability, in par with Kundrati's strategy of affirming and securing its land borders. Considering Kundrati's stance as a military ally of Beiteynu and its recent agreement to join the Equifund, the consortium of defense companies led by Beiteynu, Tikkun Haganah will work extensively with the Kundrati Army in the training and maintenance of the newly purchased 100 Merkava II battle tanks and 50 Puma personnel carriers, to be delivered by the end of 5302.

To account for the sharp increase in demand for the production of military equipment from the Equifund in the last 15 years, with the pending Beiteynuese - Selucian Partnership Agreement also stipulating the supply of 50% of its defense contracts to Equifund companies notwithstanding, further adding to the existing Istalian, Kundrati, Trigunian and Dankukian agreements, Tikkun Haganah will extend its existing partnership with Kundrati Defense Contractors on the co-production of the Merkava III battle tank starting in 5304, alongside the existing deal on the Soltam M-68 and M-71 artillery.

Yishelem, Beiteynu - Rebecca Horowitz has been elected as the new deputy leader of the Beiteynuese People's Alliance. This follows the resignation of the previous deputy leader Miriam Cohen who stepped down last year due to health concerns. Horowitz, the former Minister of Education & Culture defeated the former Judge and current Minister of Defence David Katz in a very close margin. She picked up 52% of eligible voters among the members of the BPA while Katz garnered only 48%. Rebecca Horowitz served as Minister of Education & Culture in both the Shlomo and the Levy Administration. In a short victory speech, Horowitz said it was an "honour" to be elected the deputy leader of the party adding that she will continue the great work of her predecessor.

The position of deputy leader was left vacant for months; the party was supposed to reconvene in an emergency session, however due to the election of 5300 followed by a snap election, the BPA was unable to hold the meeting until now. As deputy leader, Horowitz is expected to work with the party leader and Prime Minister Isaac Levy. In a statement, Levy congratulated Horowitz adding that "her experience as Minister coupled with her political acumen and leadership skills, will undoubtedly serve the party well."

HH comments on Mafdal reforms

Yishelem, Beiteynu - The joint coalition of the Levy Administration seems to enter a troubled time with the recently introduced Mafdal reforms concerning the increase of seats in the Knesset and the proposed ban of ideologies in the political arena, such as communism and kahanism. While the No to Extremism Act has already been met with resistance from the Beiteynuese People's Alliance, Ariel Navron Hashim, party leader of HH and current Minister of Foreign Affairs, when asked about the party's position on the issue this morning commented that "while communism, which is represented by the current Leader of the Opposition in the Knesset, is a massive threat to the stability of our country and its economy, it is in our opinion dangerous to enter the waters of prohibition when all the people have done is express themselves throughout our democratic channels, as it carries the possibilities of inciting reaction and further escalation".

"On the topic of the Mafdal's proposition of doubling the seats in the Knesset", the Minister of Foreign Affairs stated, "HH will oppose any action towards that end, being firm and unwavering believers of a small government and minimum government intervention for more than 100 years". Critics of the party, albeit recognising HH's transition to more of a moderate and centrist coalition since its astounding defeat in the beginning of the previous decade, continue to characterise Hashim and the HH as the "bought and paid for" politicians of the private sector and the elite, which poses a continuous insult to the Beiteynuese people.

Medinat Department meets with the Arslanian Administration
June 5301 - As the Hashim Conference in Yishelem prepares to host the leaders of Majatra to review the future of the MEA/MA & MSO, the Beiteynuese Government visits Pontesi to discuss its "concerns" on the "renewed economic and diplomatic policies" promised by the newly elected government
Also published on The Terran Times and distributed internationally

Arevatsag Astgh, Pontesi - The Head of the Medinat Department and a small delegation from the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs visited the Beiteynuese embassy in Pontesi earlier this week to meet with representatives from the Arslanian Administration. Considering Beiteynu's vested interests on diplomatic, economic and security-related affairs in the region of northwestern Majatra, the Beiteynuese Government saught to obtain some necessary clarifications on President Simon Arslanian's agenda for the newly elected government, especially amidst concerns in the political circles of Beiteynu's neighbour to the east on whether the nation's "democracy will be shattered or not", after an abhorrent voter turnout of a meagre 16% of the population putting a left wing socialist party in power. As Beiteynu seeks to increase its leadership status in the broader continent of Majatra extending beyond the Jelbek Peninsula, it looks to its long-term partner in the east, with which it has shared a somewhat interesting and at times rocky on Beiteynu's end relationship, especially with the latter's past aggressive foreign policy. Sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have cited that the Beiteynuese Government will continue to review 2 very specific areas of mutual interest with Pontesi, that is regarding its diplomatic policy and the extend to which Pontesi will continue to position itself next to the State of Beiteynu in terms of regional affairs, and of course, its economic policy, citing worries of "socialist tendencies" to an otherwise "laissez-faire" shared market between the 2 nations.

When asked about Trigunia's flat out endorsement of the newly elected government of Pontesi and how it might affect the talks, the Head of the Medinat Department stated that the incident took place after a "communication blunder" occurred in the comms office which led to the status report on bilateral relations being delayed in reaching its destination in Rodshyadam. "The government of Trigunia was simply unaware at the time of the Medinat Department's efforts", he commented, further adding that "our ally from Keris knows full well and respects Beiteynu's position and leadership in the region and the peninsula and has and will always consult with us before extending its reach - regardless of whether the latest information has yet been shared or not".

On the Hashim Conference getting ready to take place in Yishelem, the Head of the Medinat Department stated that "a direct invite has been forwarded to the governments of all Majatran nations as Beiteynu seeks to initiate an equal discussion on where everyone stands in regards to the MEA/MA and MSO". When asked about the longstanding close ties of the Dorvish government with the aforementioned organisations and various nations in Majatra, he commented that "the State of Beiteynu will express its position on all affairs concerning the 2 organisations during the conference, on a platform of unity and prosperity for Majatra".

A view of downtown Eroncourt, a testament of Lourenne's impact in the region

Eroncourt, Lourenne - Albeit attempting to solidify its economic and diplomatic position in Seleya recently in 5286, Beiteynu and Beiteynuese businesses have mostly trodden on the side of caution when it came to investing in the Seleyan continent. Even the meagre 52.5M LOD investment in Likatonia's clean energy in 5297 was eventually led by Tomasadyn National of Kundrati, after taking executives almost a decade to make up their minds. The hesitation of intercontinental airliners Bei Airlines and United Medinat to expand their routes in and via Seleya through Kundrati and Istalia is another testament on how the Beiteynuese private sector has mostly chosen to stay out of sight of the continent's commerce, even with Likatonia's case, a country which has maintained unhindered diplomatic relations with Beiteynu since 5200 (and trade since 5250). The Central Bank of Beiteynu has also continuously placed net trade (imports and exports) with the entirety of Seleya at less than 5B LOD per year for almost 100 years, ultimately making the Seleyan Affairs Office a pariah of the Medinat Department.

The civil war in Rildanor and the ultimate demise of Beiteynuese-Rildanorian relations - with both sides quickly cutting off diplomatic ties entirely - seemed like it would inevitably lead to the Beiteynuese Government shutting the door on the continent. Much thanks to the stabilising effect of the Security Council of the World Congress, international pressure and support, and Lourenne's solid leadership in the region, the Central Bank of Beiteynu observed an uptick in Seleyan based trade in 5297 which was quickly evaporated by the uncertainty of the situation in Tukarali, as the world held its breath on the impending doom, which has been miraculously avoided thus far, but still remains, uncertain. That very fact continues to present a conundrum for the Beiteynuese Government, which evidently continues to stumble magnificently when it comes to offering a solution for a Beiteynuese private sector eager to invest in a continent that presents multiple opportunities in emerging markets. Aldegar's entry to the Beiteynuese trade network in 5293, a country with immense potential in transporting goods across the northern and southern sides of Seleya, has done absolutely nothing to change the situation, as the rest of the continent remains plunged in instability.

With no prospects whatsoever in repairing Rildanorian relations and Tukarali's ever present uncertain situation at hand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs looks to the good old fashioned route of regional influence. As Beiteynu seeks to exert more substantial and practical leadership in Majatra with the Hashim Conference on the MEA/MSO, it also looks to Lourenne in backing up the leadership of a serious and significant influencer in a region halfway across the world, hoping to ensure the presence of a stabilising factor that the Beiteynuese private sector can finally count and rely on. Minister of Foreign Affairs Ariel Navron Hashim will meet with officials from the government of Lourenne and explore areas where the 2 countries can join forces to assist Seleya in its pursuit of stability. Of the topics to potentially be discussed are joint investments in key sectors impacting any rebuilding efforts, the opening and security of key trade routes, loans, the provision of digital government services and other digital transformation programs, the potential of drafting key agreements and last but not least, Lourenne's assistance in conducting the proposed Dorvish-Beiteynuese investigation into the attack of the Beiteynuese embassy in Rildanor and the "hostage" situation that ensued, citing that the Security Council suspects a heavy bias against Beiteynu from Rildanor. The Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs however has confirmed that the Beiteynuese delegation is looking forward to discussing Lourenne's own strategy and agenda in equal measure.

Upon arriving in Eroncourt, the Minister stated that the "Beiteynuese Government is interested in backing Lourenne's leadership in the region and that our interests lie in a stable Seleyan continent that enjoys an independent and solid setting for the long term, providing us and the private sector with promising opportunities for trade and commerce". The Minister assured the press that Beiteynu intends to "shake hands with Lourenne" and "form a relationship with a long future".

Beiteynu and Selucia concludes joint naval exercise in the Migrant's Pass
October 5301 - Over the course of more than a week, the Beiteynuese and the Selucian fleets conducted a series of joint exercises such as anti-submarine warfare, mine countermeasures, air defense and surface warfare which aims in strengthening preparedness in protecting trade routes and undertaking operations in deep seas.

Assedo, Selucia - Naval forces from the State of Beiteynu and the Selucian Republic have just concluded its one-week bilateral maritime security operations exercise in the Migrant's Pass. The naval exercise which began in early October involved a number of fleets from both countries whereby both navies conducted anti-submarine warfare, air defense and search and rescue missions. The exercise also included the Beiteynuese navy conducting blue-water training which involved "operations in deep seas away from shores and supplies." The Selucian navy on the other hand focused on local rapid deployment training.

The Beiteynuese navy deployed its 4th Flotilla which included five missile boats, three frigates and two corvettes. The 91st Submarine squadron also took part with two Beityenu-yasev submarines and one Beiteynu-tadaro submarine from the 9th Flotilla. The 133rd special commando squadrons from the 13th Flotilla also participated to complement the blue water training. On the other hand, Selucia was represented by its largest Praetorian fleet which included cruisers, destroyers, frigates and submarines. The fleet also included coastal combatants such as corvettes, mine warfare ships and light amphibious ships. Both nations have hailed the exercise as a "success".

Last month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Ariel Hashim of the HH had earlier advised the BPA led Ministry of Defense to consider conducting joint naval exercises with Selucia, with the Selucian government already agreeing to accommodate vessels and personnel of the Beiteynuese fleet in Assedo, the country's naval capital. The Medinat Department under MOFA expressed caution that Luthori could be monitoring the situation closely.

Diplomatic delegation lands in Bier Qassem
November 5301 - Noah Kadiyot, Head of the Medinat Department, is scheduled to meet with his foreign relations counterparts from the government of Badara to discuss avenues of closer collaboration in maritime commerce

- Investors and executives worried about the situation in Dankuk, debating on whether to "pull the plug" on upcoming investments

Bier Qassem, Badara - Beiteynuese efforts in recent decades in strengthening the country's position in the Majatran Sea via its expanding, and highly involved in regional trade routes, shipping sector have progressed in quite the tortoise pace, met with extended criticism by Ariel Navron Hashim, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who was quick to place judgement on the Shlomo Administrations for "dedicating decades to looking elsewhere". While the Levy Administration has commended the work of the HH led administrations of the past for securing partners and allies in further corners of Terra like Kundrati, the Office of the Prime Minister had mandated that during the BPA's tenure(s), Beiteynu would look more inward into its continent and its closer neighbours.

Adding to the slight uptick in Cildanian relations in 5290 and the partnership agreement with Selucia in 5300, the Beiteynuese Government hopes to include Badara its in regional network of commercial partners spanning the "northern arc" of the Majatran continent, with Pontesi, Selucia, Cildania, Kafuristan and all the way to Istalia in the southwestern region of Majatra, securing a firm foothold in maritime trade in the Majatran Sea. As Yishelem continues to shake hands with Majatran leaders, the Hashim Conference on MEA/MSO is an attempt by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure that a stable platform continues to exist throughout the decades. Although officials in the Medinat Department have expressed concerns over the "bumps" in recent Badaran history, they remain hopeful that a first touchpoint will pave the way for future bilateral relations to take root, taking into account how the Badaran government has expressed interest in foreign investors and trade and especially considering the longstanding partnership with Badara's neighbour to the south, Kafuristan.
