For a Project Rutania
Individually, we are students, teachers and professors, environmentalists, community activists and social workers, urban planners and architects, engineers, factory workers, farmers and tech workers. We are engaged citizens in our communities and our country.
Together we are united in a common desire. Years of uninspired and uncoordinated government from all across the spectrum has left Rutania without direction and without purpose. The state ceases to be an agent of transformational change, of innovation or indeed good management.
We are hungry for a unifying, inspiring and transformational project. A project carried by citizens. A project which builds communities. A project which alters the course of our nation and aspires for an ambition, innovation and originality. We crave a societal project.
A Project Rutania
We can chart a new course; one with a vision of a future based on holistic sustainable development, ecological wisdom and the vibrancy of sovereign communities. We envision a society with effective and efficient public services and spaces, and a harmony that sustains a compromise between ecology, justice and economy. We can commit to inclusive development to bring shared prosperity to everyone, and we can do so in a way which positions Rutania as a global leader in innovation and productivity. A sustainability and innovation revolution is required to lead Rutania into the next 50 years of its development, and in doing so, Rutania will be stronger than ever.
A dynamic economy which not only generates new wealth, but shared wealth can be achieved by including everyone in its stakes. A market economy which is efficient in its use of resources and powerful in its ability to innovate and meet new demand can become humane, just and eco-conscious by the democratic control of each individual economic actor. Co-ops and workers councils will give everyone a stake in all sides of our economy.
A strong, vibrant and low carbon mixed economy is possible: we can create good green jobs by expanding our software and electronics, green energy, electric and active transportation and cultural sectors.
Already, Rutania has a diverse and sustainable electricity grid through a mix of nuclear and renewable energy. We want to spark a community based energy revolution that combines green production with efficiency innovation. We can reduce our household energy use and keep needed money in communities with local production.
Rutania can become a leader in transportation. Our nation can become the first post-car society, ending needless gridlock and pollution which drags down our economy and burdens our health system. By investing massively in public rapid transit and active transportation, we can give citizens alternatives and once and for all end single occupant commuter vehicles. Doing so will restart local economies, repair public health and boost productivity.
Only Rutanian culture can speak to Rutanians. Our unique experiences, way of life and identity needs a clear and strong voice. We see a renaissance of Rutanian culture and the economic industry it represents across visual arts, music, literature, television and theatre. We can celebrate our interconnectedness and unique way of being by investing in our cultural institutions.
Rutanians are proud of their openness and individuality. Our project celebrates the array of individual choices and expressions. We see a Rutania where freedoms are wide reaching and build a strong dialogue which may, at times, carry difficult topics. We fundamentally value individual freedoms and morality believe they alone are a corner block for the state.
Just as unique as individuals, our project celebrates the uniqueness of communities and different ways of being Rutanian. It’s clear that across our country communities have different perspectives and different needs. By empowering local communities we can invigorate our democracy. We can build vibrant and complete communities across our country, where people of all walks of life can live, study and do meaningful work. Where residents can walk to work, local businesses, and enjoy recreation and our natural heritage. Where every resident has a voice and is invested in the decision making process of the community.
