CLCR remade

After almost a decade of political inactivity, the Orange Party returned to the political scene of Rutania. The first meeting of the new party board was organized with the Republican Elitist Party. The two parties agreed that they will remake the Classical Liberal Coalition for Rutania (CLCR), an electoral and governmental coalition which successfully led Rutania for half a century. Part of the OP faction which entered the REP, now returned to the OP. Thus, the brother of former President, Audley Cooper, Hon. Bill Cooper went backt to the OP. Foreign Minister Clay Raymond however decide to remain in the REP, because of its current governmental position.
The tow parties convened to have a common presidential candidate, however they did not made official the person of the candidate yet.

Victoria von Bruckenthal, President of the REP, declared: "After the CLCR lost the leading position in Rutania, things went chaotically, there were no political stability and the other parties did not manage to efficiently use there political capital. Now everything will change again. With our historical partner we proved that we are capable to govern with high efficiency and quality for the interests of the Rutanians. Our leading principles of classical liberalism will rise Rutania again."

Cooper, the younger brother of former president Audley Cooper, has been a member of the REP during the Orange Party's dormant period. His views of policy are said to be much like his brother's, however, his background in the Defense Ministry suggests his focus on national security.

The nephew of the PM enters national politics

The nephew of Prime Minister Victoria von Bruckenthal, Charles Augustus von Bruckenthal announced that at the next elections he will run for a seat in the Federal Parliament. Mr. von Bruckenthal is 27 years old and he worked for the first time in the Ardinian branch of the REP. He studied philosophy at the University of Bozarland under the supervision of Professor Henry Cusanus, who is now the Secretary General of the UNT.

Charles Augustus von Bruckenthal declared that he had decided to enter politics because it was a family tradition and because he felt a passion for politics for many years. He said that he did not fears that her aunt will be accused of nepotism, given the fact that he intended to have an independent political career.

Victory of the CLCR

The elections of December 2777 brought the the victory of the CLCR. The coalition of the REP and OP won almost 36 percent of the votes and their presidential candidate, Bill Cooper won with 65percent of the votes.

The CLCR held the office of President for nearly 60 years through the persons of Audley Cooper (OP) and Lord Klausenburg (REP). For twenty years they lost the seat but now they regained it. Bill Cooper is the younger brother of former President Audley Cooper and was Minister of Defence for several mandates.

A fact is that the new President will put its imprint on the politics of Rutania which was pretty dull during the presidency of the PSLM. Though during this period the REP was continuously part of the cabinet but the cooperation with the PSLM was difficult. Probably the new President is going to propose a new cabinet based on the parties of the CLCR. They do not hold the majority of the parliamentary seats, therefore they need another partner in the cabinet. Our unofficial information say that they will choose the RHP.

This option is interesting because the RHP was not part of any government in its history and during the Nova Terra crisis the RHP and the CLCR were in an open conflict. However, recently we could observe that the leaders of the coalition are sympathetic to the RHP and vice versa.

One REP official accuses a prominent socialist leader

Charles Augustus von Bruckenthal, the leader of the Ardinian branch of the REP accuses Mauricia Posadas, a prominent leader of the PSLM of anti-state activity and subversion.

"According to some documents, meeting minutes and reports, Mauricia Posadas is organizing a para-military group in order to carry out a coup-d'etat. A so called "Red Commando" are meeting in secret in the suburbs of Feynport. Their plan is to capture the major cities of Ardinia and initiate a separatist movement. In their hopes from the newly proclaimed Peoples' Democracy of Ardinia the "leftist revolution would" spread to the other regions of the Commonwealth" - declared CAM.

"I demand the PSLM to declare whether they know about this illegal activity and to exclude Mauricia Posadas from the party. At the same time I ask President Johnston to have a firm stance on this issue and initiate a process of public investigation."

Neither the PSLM press office, nor the Presidential Office released a declaration, but they may arrive at any moment.

REP ministers resign from the cabinet of Paul Hanson

Four ministers of the Hanson cabinet, all being members of the REP, have resigned yesterday evening. Eleanor Bozarburg, Vice-President of the REP declared that her party did not want to take part into a cabinet which does not value their political potential. As the second largest party of the rightist governing coalition, the REP demands the seat of the PM and the Foreign Ministry. Though the honourable Bill Cooper proposed a cabinet in this sense, the FP did not express its support. The re-elected FP leader, Thomas Johnston is required to solve this problem which blocks the good governance of Rutania.

Total political chaos in Rutania

The presidential party, the FP and the OP were dissolved. Thus Rutania had remained without a president and a functioning cabinet. As we were broadcasting earlier the REP left the cabinet. With the dissolution of the other two parties only the RHP remained in the cabinet. The RHP has the seats of the PM and of the Finance and Health Departments. So the Rutanian cabinet is made up of 3 people.

The REP initiated an early election's motion which is supported by the RHP. But it seems that the opposition will block the proposal to make the chaos even deeper and to gain political capital from the popular discontent.

The REP nominated Pierre LeBon as the new presidential candidate.

Sweeping victory of the REP

As several times in the history of the Commonwealth, crisis situations are always resolved by the REP. The elections held on 19th of December 2798, the REP won the Presidential seat. Pierre LeBon (see photo) won with 65,24% and became the second REP President, after the Honourable Lord Klausenburg who lead Rutania for 10 mandates.
The partner of the REP, the RHP became the second largest party of the country, so the two can easily form a new cabinet together.

After the publication of the result, President LeBon forwarded a press release:
"I am really thankful for the Rutanian people for their trust. I can promise that I will follow the oath of my great predecessor, Lord Klausenburg, and I am going to recreate a prosperous and mighty Rutania. I proposed to the Senate a new cabinet which will be led by Mr. Paul Hanson of the Rutanian Heritage Party. I have to state that some great achievements are to come. In the next days I will elaborate whole new strategy to brig back the lost fame of our country. I am going to make official state visits to our partners.

Major reforms will be introduced in domestic policy as well. The specialists of the REP and RHP are already working to draw the new path of the Commonwealth.
Together we will succeed!"

New Leftist Party Founded in Rutania

Image

This May saw a significant meeting in Port Nelson ratify a party platform and elect an Executive Committee for a brand-new left-wing party, the Revolutionary Workers Party of Rutania. The party has allegedly come into being with workers and Trade Unionists at the helm, including some ex-members of the PSLM. Sam Beaton, spokesperson for the Executive Committee, said that "this is a historic day for the working class in Rutania. Today we have brung forward a challenge to the capitalist ruling elite of this country and will fight tooth-and-nail with it for worker's rights and an end to oppression". When questioned on the role of the PSLM, Beaton commented that "we will work with the PSLM where necessary, but we are far from agreeing with all the party's programme. In fact in some instances we would regard them as reformists, whereas the WRP are revolutionaries".

It remains to be seen what impact this small party will have on Rutanian politics, though those at the meeting insist their future is bright. So far, the major parties in Rutania are yet to comment on this new political platform.

Rutania ratified the Axis Agreement Treaty
October 2701

The commitment of the REP made to the Axis was materialized in the ratification of the AAT. 167 Senators voted for the bill while 68 abstained. After the vote ended President Pierre LeBon and Foreign Minister Charles Augustus von Bruckenthal held a joint press conference.

The President declared that: "In great crossroads of the nation's history we have the duty to choose wise and make the right decisions. We have done so. Our Axis membership will contribute to a greater potential of the Axis and of Rutania as well. Many of our neighbours are parts of the Axis, and we wish to be integrated in this marvellous international establishment. I hope that we shall be proud about this step for centuries."

The Foreign Minister stated that "the government is considering the ratification of the AMT as well, but it is still a future plan."
