March of PatriotismConservatives Organize Patriotic March for Kalistan
National Conservative Party Voters March in Kaliburg During the March of Patriotism 4/4/4533Patriotic Kalistanis from a variety of political ideologies marched together on April fourth to show their support and love for their nation and to spread awareness of their political policies. The March of Patriotism, as it has been dubbed by its attendees, was organized and funded by the National Conservative Party and had been attended mostly by NCP voters, though a great many marchers were also from the SPoK and UKWF, the LDP and NLP, and the LRPoK, and their were also a few Patriots who turned out to be actual patriots sprinkled about the march.
At the head of the marchers was a group of speakers from each of the parties, but comprised most speakers from the NCP. Among some of the more famous NCP speakers were the NCP Director Patrick Kearney, retired politician and ex-President Narelle Ewart, NCP Minority Leader Gaius Spartacus, and CAK Field Marshal Montgomery. Among some of the notable speakers not from the NCP were General Secretary Joseph Hill of the UKWF, Premier Sarah Furhat from the LDP, ex-Premier Starry Godiva from the SPoK, and Joshua Kinsley, a Civil War hero and member of the NLP.
The marchers were also joined by a number of interest groups, non political organizations, and patriotic individuals. Some of the present groups included the Organization for the Humane Treatment of Pets, the Kalistani Civil Liberties Watch, the National Association of Immigrants, and many more. One of the more inspiring moments of the march was caught when veterans from both sides of the Civil War stopped and shook hands with one another.
When the march ended at the steps of to the National Assembly, the speakers climbed the steps to where a podium and microphone awaited them while parties and interest groups set up stands handing out pamphlets about their various causes. The general subject for most of the speakers was the need for national unity and patriotism, but most of the speakers also spoke of their political goals, from Joseph Hill calling for more nationalization to Premier Furhat calling for more privatization. The highlight of the march came at the end after Patrick Kearney's expletive filled rant about the Patriotic League and "the no good, dirty weasels f****** running our great nation into the d*** ground" when the much missed Narelle Ewart gave her short speech and first public appearance after retiring from politics following the Peace Accord of 4526.
My friends and fellow Kalistanis, I am proud of what you have achieved since the end of the Civil War. When I left Kaliburg seven years ago, the city was in ruins due to the civil war and the population was starving and impoverished due to economic liberalization. The Kalistani Regular Forces were outgunned by party militias and the territorial integrity of Kalistan was being threatened by foreign powers. But no more. Kaliburg and many other cities throughout our great nation no longer bear the scars of artillery shells and stray bullets. No more do Kalistanis starve in the streets and fail to find work. No more do foreigners attempt to meddle in our affairs or march uninvited into our borders. And why is this? It is because we worked together. Yes, it is due to our tremendous ability to come together that we've been able to overcome these terrible situations. It was government workers with the aid of militia troops who worked tirelessly to rebuild our beautiful cities. It was the LDP who compromised with the Conservatives and socialists in order reopen Kalistan's military industries and create jobs for the people, and it was the Conservatives and socialists who reestablished government welfare systems. It was all of us who came together who through the Keymonese and Kazulians out of our affairs. It was us who accomplished these mighty feats, and it will be us who accomplish many more. The military isn't doing too good, how about we start with that to ensure that we can defend ourselves from any possible future foreign incursions. Conservatives, go and shake the hands of Patriots, not what Director Kearney just told you to do! Liberals, go and give a socialist a hug! These are but the first steps we must take to further unity and make Kalistan even greater. Liberty Shall Triumph! In Vino Veritas!
