LDP once again says “Furhat !”

The Liberal Democratic Party Congress has ended, along with it the Career of Haytham Kennedy. After the elections which saw the failure of Kennedy to be re-elected as President, the 6-year Premier and 3-year President of the Republic resigned from his position as LDP Chairman and declared “a sweet end” to his Political Career. The LDP congress held Primaries which saw for the first time a candidate running un-opposed. Sarah Furhat, highly decorated attorney,6-Year Deputy, 3-year Premier of the Republic and daughter of the late LDP legend Ceaser Furhat, was elected as the new Chairman or Chairwoman of the Liberal Democratic Party. Her husband Jason Kenway looked with a sense of pride as Sarah recieved all of the votes from the congress and walked up the steps of the LDP podium to give her first speech as LDP Leader. Sarah gave homage to her father with a visible tear saying:”I am honoured to stand in the podium i saw my father stand and give a speech for the first time 36 years ago when i was 4 years old. Alot has changed since then, the LDP has reached highs my Father always envisioned. The LDP achieved and took Kalistan forward to such great feet, alot of it through the Leadership of my Father.İ wish he was alive today to see me here, however i know in my heart that he is with me and is very happy. İ intend to make him and all of you proud and take the LDP and most importantly Kalistan forward ! Long live Free and Prosperous Kalistan !” As loud cheers and clapping echoed throughout the LDP HQ,Kalistan now awaits for a new government to be formed,as the elections see a very intriguing situation in the National Assembly, obviously the LDP being the third largest Party in the Assembly will play a major role in deciding the New ruling coalition.

National Conservative Party Voters March in Kaliburg During the March of Patriotism 4/4/4533

Patriotic Kalistanis from a variety of political ideologies marched together on April fourth to show their support and love for their nation and to spread awareness of their political policies. The March of Patriotism, as it has been dubbed by its attendees, was organized and funded by the National Conservative Party and had been attended mostly by NCP voters, though a great many marchers were also from the SPoK and UKWF, the LDP and NLP, and the LRPoK, and their were also a few Patriots who turned out to be actual patriots sprinkled about the march.

At the head of the marchers was a group of speakers from each of the parties, but comprised most speakers from the NCP. Among some of the more famous NCP speakers were the NCP Director Patrick Kearney, retired politician and ex-President Narelle Ewart, NCP Minority Leader Gaius Spartacus, and CAK Field Marshal Montgomery. Among some of the notable speakers not from the NCP were General Secretary Joseph Hill of the UKWF, Premier Sarah Furhat from the LDP, ex-Premier Starry Godiva from the SPoK, and Joshua Kinsley, a Civil War hero and member of the NLP.

The marchers were also joined by a number of interest groups, non political organizations, and patriotic individuals. Some of the present groups included the Organization for the Humane Treatment of Pets, the Kalistani Civil Liberties Watch, the National Association of Immigrants, and many more. One of the more inspiring moments of the march was caught when veterans from both sides of the Civil War stopped and shook hands with one another.

When the march ended at the steps of to the National Assembly, the speakers climbed the steps to where a podium and microphone awaited them while parties and interest groups set up stands handing out pamphlets about their various causes. The general subject for most of the speakers was the need for national unity and patriotism, but most of the speakers also spoke of their political goals, from Joseph Hill calling for more nationalization to Premier Furhat calling for more privatization. The highlight of the march came at the end after Patrick Kearney's expletive filled rant about the Patriotic League and "the no good, dirty weasels f****** running our great nation into the d*** ground" when the much missed Narelle Ewart gave her short speech and first public appearance after retiring from politics following the Peace Accord of 4526.

My friends and fellow Kalistanis, I am proud of what you have achieved since the end of the Civil War. When I left Kaliburg seven years ago, the city was in ruins due to the civil war and the population was starving and impoverished due to economic liberalization. The Kalistani Regular Forces were outgunned by party militias and the territorial integrity of Kalistan was being threatened by foreign powers. But no more. Kaliburg and many other cities throughout our great nation no longer bear the scars of artillery shells and stray bullets. No more do Kalistanis starve in the streets and fail to find work. No more do foreigners attempt to meddle in our affairs or march uninvited into our borders. And why is this? It is because we worked together. Yes, it is due to our tremendous ability to come together that we've been able to overcome these terrible situations. It was government workers with the aid of militia troops who worked tirelessly to rebuild our beautiful cities. It was the LDP who compromised with the Conservatives and socialists in order reopen Kalistan's military industries and create jobs for the people, and it was the Conservatives and socialists who reestablished government welfare systems. It was all of us who came together who through the Keymonese and Kazulians out of our affairs. It was us who accomplished these mighty feats, and it will be us who accomplish many more. The military isn't doing too good, how about we start with that to ensure that we can defend ourselves from any possible future foreign incursions. Conservatives, go and shake the hands of Patriots, not what Director Kearney just told you to do! Liberals, go and give a socialist a hug! These are but the first steps we must take to further unity and make Kalistan even greater. Liberty Shall Triumph! In Vino Veritas!

Government formed ! Jason Kenway the new Premier !

The National Assembly has finally voted in the new coalition government. The proposal of the LDP of a coalition between the PL,LDP and LRP was accepted by the assembly. Sarah Furhat’s husband Jason Kenway was selected as the new Premier of the Republic. İn his first speech as Premier he promised to continue steady economic progress and Liberal values. Sarah Furhat which also served as Premier and is now the President of the Liberal Democratic Party is reported to be getting ready for her first Presidential Run in a bipartisan campaign aimed to muster votes from all sorts of voters. Time will tell if she will be successful however being the daughter of the late Ceaser Furhat, expectations are high from the successful attorney and former Premier.

Conservatives, Socialists, and Liberals Alike Swarm the Streets in Celebration of the Dissolution of the Patriotic League

In a moment of ecstasy and hope, President James Koehler announced last week the Patriotic League's plan to disband and abdicate all offices after nearly forty years of terrorizing Kalistan. It is not known why the the officials of the League decided to disband, as they had done well in the past elections, though some suspect that they chose to disband due to internal issues and struggles. No matter what the reason for their sudden disbandment and abdications, this is a truly tremendous moment in Kalistani history.

For almost a week straight, the streets of Kalistani cities have been filled with have been filled with celebrators and carousers all making merry at the end of a terrible and divisive era and look forward to hope, a hope for new and better times, a hope for unharassed liberty, a hope for unity. The celebrators were joined by a number of public figures, from normally uptight politicians drunkenly stumbling and singing through the streets to political musicians playing their music for the thousands of Kalistanis in attendance. The celebrations were not without issue, though. Hundreds of pro-Patriot protesters took to the streets to counter the celebrators, but were ultimately unheard and forced to either go home or stay and remedy their sorrow and disappointment with alcohol and partying.

Defense Minister Foster Announces Modernization plan

Earlier this week, Defense Minister Foster unveiled his new plan for a modernization of Kalistan’s military. The plan, announced during a Monday afternoon meeting, is to include:
-Extensive repairs made to existing equipment
-Gradual replacement of technology for more updated models
-A more intensive training program, focusing on cooperation with party militias.

When asked as to why he chose to propose it, he responded:
Well, if anything has become painfully obvious, it’s that the Kalistan Armed Forces have been in dire need of modernization for some time. After several administrations of total inaction on this fact, it’s high time we do what should have been done years ago. The time for sitting with our hands under our seats is done. The inaction shown by the Patriotic League has dangerously stymied our ability to defend ourselves. If Kalistan is to be able to protect it’s interests, we need to modernize, and we need to do it now.

Implementation of the plan is expected to begin by the end of the month.

LDP wins in elections ! Kalistan once again says “Furhat for President !”

The Early Elections called after the dissolution of the PL and DPP has resulted in the LDP gaining most of the Centre to Centre-Right vote along with the base Liberal/Capitalist vote which mustered a healthy majority for the LDP in Parliament as well as giving Sarah Furhat the office of President of the Republic after the extra endorsement of the NLP. Sarah Furhat came into the LDP stage with loud applouse and tears of joy in the eyes of her supporters. “A new era has begun for Kalistan ! And era of freedom and prosperity ! Kalistan will continue on the path of reform and progress !” Jason Kenway expressed large happiness with her wife gaining the strongest position in parliament and that “her father must be smiling down at us now with pride and joy” Sarah is expected to propose a coalition cabinet which would most likely include the Centre to Centre-Right parties of Parliament

Premier Hill announces Presidential Run amidst dissolution of the SPoK
Premier of the Republic Joseph Hill has announced that he intends to run for president in the midst of the the collapse of the Socialist Party of Kalistan. When asked why, he responded with:
Well, the workers in Kalistan really have their backs against the wall. Without the bastion of the SPoK to balance it out, the LDP is effectively free to have their way with Worker’s Rights throughout the country. For the second time in the history of the UKWF, we are the sole face of the Kalistani Left. Unlike last time, however, we have the ability and the strength to take power and guarantee security for the people.
This is the first time the UKWF has ran a presidential candidate since the Patriotic League seized power, and despite the late announcement, the atmosphere in the party headquarters is one of General optimism.
