Nordland Liberated

General Farkas, Supreme Commander of the Egelion Armed forces, has annouced that Nordland is in full control of the Egelian Army. All rebels have withdrawn from the city and are now isolated in the forest regions outside of the city itself.

There have been reports of attacks on convoys travelling through the major forests in Caille. While the Army has played down the effectiveness of these attacks, independent sources claim that troops and supplies have been rerouted to avoid the uncontrolled area.

'Caillean' aircraft take refuge in New Endralon

Following a series of glorious victories (or defeats, depending on whose propaganda you read) the ultra-modern yet broken remnants of the Caillean airforce have retreated to New Endralon.The idea that these planes were created by the Cailleans is discredited, (although Kerisian and Caillean sources maintain this to be the case) but their flying under Caillean colours has thus far prevented all-out war between the UKSR and Egelion.

Ishlan Melatsiy condemns killing of Trigunians in Caille

Today the Chairman of the Trigunian Socialist Republic, Ishlan Melatsiy, condemned the Egelian forces for their killing of two Trigunian tourists in a forest near Nordland.

What outrage, what horror will these Egelian fools stoop to in order to sate their wanton brutality? Having not been contented with the mass rape of peasants of both sexes, the Egelians have stooped to yet another low by the indecent murder of two innocent Trigunians! The two factory workers in question were playing paintball in idyllic woodlands (where logging had finally ended at the behest of the socialist government) when the cruel Egelians captured and crucified them in the manner that Christians always do to their victims. We demand an unreserved apology for this atrocity, as well as the immediate persecution of this foul religion!

Motherland Under Attack!
New Endralonian Village of Iliescu near the border with Egelion destroyed

Egelion air force attacked little village of Iliescu. 70 people dead, homes burned and destroyed. Capitalist pigs did not attack the warriors, they did not attack the army or men. They attacked our women, our children, our older people. This day is a great tragedy for the Keris workers and farmers state.
The winter is coming and white snowflakes shall gently cover the bodies and ruins. Yet they would never cover our hearts. Comrades, the time has come. Air force Major Nikolay Astrukhin was happy. His mission to bomb Egelion terrorist organization near the border was successful. Bombs felt great and there was nothing but ruins left. He received warm welcome by his officers and fellow comrades. He was told later that thanks to his mission only one of New Endralonian villages suffered.
In the party afterward he met someone named Sasha (Aleksandr). They became friends. When Nikolay had to tell about his mission, Sasha took over and with excitement told every small detail of the mission. Sometimes exaggerating, always loud and proud.
Sasha knew a lot of ways to get vodka. And he explained to Nikolay how one could get away with being drunk at service. Nikolay started to drink heavily.
One day both friends left the base on their usual vodka campaign. During the way back Major Nikolay felt down the chairs and died instantly. Sasha left the base and never was seen there again. Nikolay's wife cried for a week. She found a new lover later. Married.

UKSR Declares War - Red Army assaults Caille and Amateria
Supreme Commander of the Red Army, Sveta Isaakova, has divided the soldiers in Sodali and Kutohaderia into three groups. Two shall advance from North and South of Caille, while third shall advance from Northern Amateria. The estimated size of the Red Army in its entirety is 9,590,000 soldiers. However, only roughly 1,700,000 troops are estimated to be in each invasion force.

OOC: I'll make a more detailed war update soon, but I really need a map of Egelion with the location of the various cities on it. If you don't have one on hand, we can give the roleplay a day's lapse for the lot of you to discuss city locations. The most important city locations at the moment are the capitals and largest cities of each region (or second largest in the case that the capital is the largest).

Citizens of Keris, today is a day that no Terran shall ever forget. In the past few months, a new Soviet Socialist Republic emerged from the tyranny of capitalism, to finally reach the eternal goal of the worker, freedom and equality for all. The people of Caille revolted against the corrupt government of Egelion, and declared themselves an independent nation, one that would work for the betterment of all citizens, not just the rich and powerful. In response the 'president' of Egelion, dictator that he is, ordered the Egelian military to put down the so-called rebellion in Caille. The revolutionaries, in a short time, bettered the lives of countless comrades in the mountainous region, but all the work and efficiency that communism had brought to the area was shattered upon the arrival of the Egelian Armed Forces, under General Josef Farkas.
The dutiful and honorable soldiers of the Caillean Revolutionary Guard fought with sticks and stones against the evil Egelian soldiers. Our comrades fought bravely and gave their lives without hesitation in hope of protecting the great nation that had been formed from the ashes of a region ruled by men in ivory towers. Despite the best efforts of the revolutionaries, Northmoor was lost to the capitalist pigs. Under Egelian control, Northmoor descended into a cesspool of crime. Revolutionaries were slaughtered by the hundreds, their bodies defiled to a point of non-recognition. Men, women, children, the Egelians took no notice as they raped, murdered, and pillaged the city. Those lucky (or perhaps unlucky) enough to survive were forced to be at the beck and call of the invading army. Dissent was brutally punished, and any word of the mighty UKSR resulted in execution. The brave citizens of Nordland, from the mouths of half-dead escapees of the carnage, reported these storied to party officials until the day Nordland came under seige. The Egelian army, having sucked Northmoor clean, swept through the capital of the Caillean SSR, inflicting even more horrendous crimes upon citizens. The Chairman of Caille sent me one final message before communication between Rodshyadam and Nordland ceased. He knew that he had mere moments remaining in his life, and he asked for just one simple thing. Revenge.
Before all else, my duty is to protect the people of the UKSR and the ideals of the Revolution. Already, in Caille, the ideals of the Revolution are under assault. Last night, I was informed by Chairman Ai Anais of New Endralon that the village of Iliescu was destroyed by an air raid perpetrated by the Egelian Air Force. The death toll continued to rise, but already seventy loyal citizens of the UKSR have been reported dead. The Republic of Egelion has directly committed an act of aggression against our glorious nation. As of March 17th, 2860, at 2300 hours, the UKSR is in a state of war.
I come before you today, asking nothing. Today, I command. All loyal citizens of the United Kerissian Socialist Republics shall take up arms against the Egelian murderers! The Red Army shall march from New Endralon and shall not stop until Libertaria has crumbled to the ground, crushing the dictatorship along with it. The people of Caille and Egelion are in need of our aid, and it is the DUTY of all citizens to commit themselves to the war effort. The Red Army has moved into Northern Caille, Supreme Commander Sveta Isaakova shall be meeting with UKSR agents in Caillean guerrilla forces to organize major assault of Egelian Armed Forced at Nordland and Northmoor. Recruitment for Red Army is soaring, but our supply of weapons is dwindling. Our millions may be armed with kitchen utensils and pistols from the last century, but they shall still triumph over the greedy pig-dog soldiers of Egelion. For the motherland!

UKSR Makes Advances in Egelian Territory
Supreme Commander of the Red Army, Sveta Isaakova met with the remants of Caillean SSR leadership today, incorporating the few remaining soldiers of the Caillean Revolutionary Guard into a special unit of the 1st Invasion Force. The 1st Invasion Force has worked its way through the foresty portions of Northern Caille to reach the beginnings of the Northern Egelian Mountain Range, where the revolutionaries had taken up base following the taking of Nordland by the Eglian Armed Forces. Most of the 1st Invasion Force are still making their way through the foresty area, occupying towns and small cities throughout the region. Small skirmishes have occurred already, but there have yet to be any major UKSR-Egelion confrontations.
The 2nd Invasion Force has taken a slash and burn route through the Southern portions of the same foresty area, heading towards Northmoor. Behind those soldiers clearing the forest, the 1st, 3rd, 6th, and 8th-11th Armored Divisions are approaching the large city. Resisting towns along the way have been silently eradicated by the Force, unlike the occupation technique used by the 1st Invasion Force.
The 3rd Invasion Force have fallen just short of the city of Midmont, the large majority of the roughly 1,700,000 soldiers in this Force are in the surrounding countryside. Outskirt suburbs of Midmont have been bombed by the Red Army's air force wing, stationed in New Endralon. Minor riots have broken out in the city itself as fearful citizens and communist supporters are rising up against the government and military stationed in the city.

The liberation of Egelion has made great progress in Caille and Amateria. The Red Army has been welcomed and accommodated with open arms by the formerly enslaved workers of the regions. Northmoor, Nordland, and Midmont have heavy concentrations of Egelian soldiers, but the people in these cities yearn for their freedom, and reports of revolts amongst the local populations have heartened the brave the soldiers of the Red Army. Clearly the capitalist dictators are losing their iron grip in these two regions, but still we must fight on. Re-education programs have been set up in liberated towns to help those poor citizens brainwashed by the Egelian government to be freed from their mental chains, now that their physical ones have been lifted.
In other news, production in the region of Tiania has greatly increased since the commencement of the war. Citizens of the UKSR should see the loyal workers of Tiania as examples of model citizens, and aspire to achieve the efficiency and devotion to the Motherland that they have.

The Invasion of Egelion is proceeding wonderfully! Our agents in Midmont are brewing up trouble in the city, and will surely help when we attack the city proper. The prisoners of war and failed students of the re-education programs are filling up the labor camps in Tiania well. We expect new aircraft to be available for the use of the Air Marshall soon. Supreme Commander Isaakova has asked that the demolition experts she request last month be made a priority and be directed to the head of the 3rd Invasion Force. For the Motherland!

First City Liberated!
Snorgard Welcomes the Red Army

Snorgard - small city at the west of Caille region was the first city liberated by the Red Army. Long time oppressed workers, farmers and revolutionaries of Snorgard welcomed liberation army with flowers and chanted: "Glory to the UKSR! Glory to the Comrade Petrov! Glory to the Red Army!" Spontaneous demonstrations of happiness lasted for these last days and our correspondent is proud to say: Communism is celebrated in Snorgard as nowhere else on Terra!

Victory at Sea!

The Egelian 3rd Fleet landed a stunning blow to the UKSR invasion of Egelion as the 3rd Fleet faced off against an invasion fleet off the coast of the small fishing village of Slarfjörður about 100km west of the border with Eder Gira. Rear Admiral Saria Hendrichsdóttir, commander of the 3rd Fleet, stated that the invasion fleet was engaged during the 3rd Fleet's war excercises. Rear Admiral Hendrichsdóttir stated that "either the fleet was aimed at extending the conflict by invading Eder Gira or the UKSR was very intent on destroying Caille's cod fishing industry."

Both sides are said to have suffered major casualties, with the Egelian Navy losing its carrier the ES Magar along with two destroyers, five cruisers, three submarines and numerous aircraft. While enemy casualties were not counted, Rear Admiral Hendrichsdóttir stated that "we have severely limited the Red Navy's ability to project itself for the time being."

Northmoor Under Siege, Midmont Nearly Taken
The Second Invasion Force has begun attacking the city of Northmoor with long-range artillery, while advancing into the suburbs with little resistance from the military forces stationed in the city. The majority of the Egelian troops are centered in the densest part of Northmoor, and it is expected that resistance will be fierce once the Red Army enters this area. Meanwhile, the Third Invasion Force has swarmed through Midmont, due to its considerably smaller population and military resistance. Red Army aircraft have been relentlessly bombing the urban center of the city, causing an Amaterian Media Corp owned skyscraper to crumble. Thousands of civilian deaths have been reported so far. In Northern Caille, the city of Nordland has yet to be attacked as the First Invasion Force seems to be focuing on surrounding towns and cities.

See the power of the Red Army as it tears the Egelian dictatorship apart, limb-by-limb! Midmont, one of the largest cities in Amateria has fallen to our forces, with only a few remaining Egelian military units resisting the will of the worker. The new leadership of the UKSR city has determined that to fully exorcise the ghosts of capitalism remaining in the city, that the city center be moved from the current location to a less densely occupied area roughly five miles away. I have personally spoken with the communist leaders in the city, and I can assure you that all rumors of the destruction of the old city center are utterly unfounded. Support the Egelian liberation! Egelian military units, in a perverted act of revenge against the citizens of Midmont, seized control of a Heavy Demolition unit and strategically placed countless explosives throughout the old city center, erradicating contless skyscrapers and smaller buildings. While the death toll has yet to be confirmed, it is expected that these explosions have cost the lives of tens of thousands of citizens. The military units were captured following this incident, and confessed to their crimes. The Midmont soviet has sentenced the living soldiers to life in a hard labor camp in New Endralon. The confessions also brought to light that the plot would not have been successful without the help and support of certain fascist citizens of the city. Due to the fact that it is possible future attacks on the citizens of Midmont are to come, a curfew has been put in place. If you have any information on fascist activities within the city, please report them to Red Army officials. For the Motherland!

The demolition teams have executed their jobs perfectly, sadly their lives were lost in the various blasts across the city. Unfortunately a miscommunication lead to their underestimating the time they had to escape the buildings before the bombs went off. They shall be honored for their services. Labor camps in Tiania shall be filling sooner than expected, with the imprisonment of dissenting Midmont citizens. I shall be ordering the construction of various camps in UKSR controlled Egelian territories. Hopefully, these will improve the current situation with lack of proper weaponry for the Red Army.

Also, Chairman Ai Anais, the UKSR Navy has suffered serious harm at the hands of the Egelians off the coast of Eder Gira. I shall be holding you personally responsible for the rebuilding of our fleet. Our sailors need inspiration, so I expect that you shall be accompanying certain vessels on training exercises and routine patrols. The people need their leaders. For the Motherland!
