Chairman Schechter Comments on WarChairman Schechter (center)Dec 3035- Davalo, Nihaton- Today talking at a local community center, Chairman Schechter was asked a series of questions about the war against Keymon and their allies. Schechter said that although he did not know at first if the war was necessary, "As everyday goes by, it becomes more apparent that this war was necessary to secure our long term security." He also said that, "When I contemplate on this issue, Psalms 83:1-5,13-18 comes to mind, 'O God, do not remain silent; do not turn a deaf ear, do not stand aloof, O God. See how your enemies growl, how your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. “Come,” they say, “let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.” With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you— Make them like tumbleweed, my God, like chaff before the wind. As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm. Cover their faces with shame, LORD, so that they will seek your name. May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace. Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD—that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.'" He said that he has sent correspondence to the leadership of Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem to accept Jewish refugees from not only Darnussia but all of the nations involved in the war. He said that he hope that the lives of of troops, both Jewish and goy, are considered in all of the decisions of the warring nations leaders.
