People's Revolutionary Army sparks nationwide left-wing uprisings

Anti-communist youths take to the streets of Red Stad to combat the occupying PRA

182,000 MILITANTS OF THE People's Revolutionary Army have seized Red Stad. 115,000 members of other armed left-wing groups have vowed to support the PRA to the last, and have began communist uprisings in other cities. Now, tens of thousands of anti-communists have taken to the streets to fight the revolutionaries. With Darnussia haven fallen into bloodbath, there is almost no action from the government. Despite the declaration of a state of emergency, no military action has occurred.

The majority of the fighting is in Red Stad, between the PRA and anti-communists. Casualties are said to be in the high hundreds, as the PRA battle for control of the city.

I also did not see this before the post in the paper, so I will just give the link and start posting in here from now on. I am also leaving the begining battle RP to Khaler for our side. I will handel the political and of course the wonderful rise of the Golden Eagle.

OOC: This is all happening at the same time as the post above, I would say within the same week or within the same two weeks. We will official start to RP and kick things off this Sunday, so this is to just finish setting the stage for the main event.

President Declares Martial Law on the Mainland
In a statement to the nation today, President Martin St.Antonius sought and was given approval by the Parliament of the Second Darnussian Democratic Republic to declare Martial Law on the mainland Provinces of Darnussia, Alkavon and Kozaria. The president issued several reason for the declaration, but mostly it was due to the recent uprising in Red Stad, where Military and I.N.P.F. forces continue to battle their way into the northern half of the city. We have no reports on how the situation is being handled, but reports from other cities suggest that PRA propaganda is sparking uprising in several other towns, villages, minor cities and cities across the nation. With this Declaration of Martial Law, the military has been called into the capital city and other major cities across the mainland to keep order by any means necessary. I.N.P.F. have also been called out in full force, and it is rumored, but not confirmed, that arrest are being made throughout the mainland of anyone who is thought to be supporting the criminal uprising in Red Stad. At the same time, protestors have begun to assemble outside the Parliament building in protest to the Declaration. The I.N.P.F. nor the Military, have broken them up yet, but from online sources there are many who are calling for a mass demonstration in front of the Parliament building against the Government and its actions.

Chancellor Warns Dorvik that Interfearing will be a Declaration of War Against the Nation of Darnussia
The nation of Dorvik has declared that it will assist the criminals and traitors in Red Stad in their rebellion against our great and noble nation. This action prompted Chancellor, Anthony de Augustin, to address Parliament today on the situation and give a stern message to Dorvik:

"My fellow compatriots, today we have been told that we are being invaded by a fellow Artanian nation, who wishes to support the criminals and traitors who have taken out beloved city of Red Stad and turned it into a battle zone. They wish to support the traitors who have brought chaos and destruction to this great nation and have caused us to declare Martial Law on the mainland of our beloved nation. THIS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!! Let me make this perfectly clear to the nation of Dorvik, that if they intervean in any manner what so ever, this nation will see it as a Declaration of War, and will take any actions that come along with such a declaration. Dorvik you have been warned!!!"

Elections Held Despite Chaos, Government Shown to have the Mandate of the People!!!
Even though the past few days and week have been filled with disorder and chaos, the government has promised and accomplished successfully elections througout much of the nation. With the islands not being under martial law, and the short lived uprising on them crushed, they have reported little disturbance with the process of the election. While the mainland, in contrast, has reported several issues pertaining to safety and the peoples’ ability to vote, along with violence in many cities. The capital is seems to be the only city where no problems were reported on the mainland.

The results of the election have shown a massive boost in support and a declaration by the people for the Government parties. With all Governorships, a massive boost in seats in the Parliament, and the retaining of the Presidential Offices for yet again another term by Martin St.Antonius. Chancellor Anthony de Augustin has stated that "This shows that the people believe that the Government is in the right and that they must continue to bring order back to the areas that have come under the control of traitors and criminals".

Online sources tell of a massive rally to take place by anti-government supporters who claim the election was a fraud, and that the results have been forced onto the people by the Fascist and Dictatorial parties of the government.

Parliament Burns to the Ground as the Capital city of Doressa erupts into Chaos Between the Left & Right

A massive riot has taken place outside Parliament, even though the city is under Martial Law, between Right wing and Left wing supporters, over the elections, the uprisings, and the Declaration of Martial Law. The riots got out of hand and now the Parliament of Darnussia, the symbol of democratic pride and unity for the Republic has been burnt to the ground.

Government Forms Provisional Capital in Merenbürg, After the Burning in Doressa
The Parliament has voted in a special secession, located in the Opera House of Doressa, to relocate to the old capital of Merenbürg, for the duration of the "Mainland Uprisings". The Government has confirmed what many had started to notice that the government has been relocating back to the old capital as soon as uprisings broke out in several locations across the area close to the capital and had failed to be put down in a quick manner. The President and Chancellor left shortly after the vote by plane to the island of Narikaton, where along with the other islands, no uprisings have occurred or succeed in occurring due to the massive government support.

This move however seems to have inflamed many on the Mainland, who feel as if the government is abandoning them, or worse, grouping them with the rebels of Red Stad. This move seems to have caused some decision amongst the Military rank and file, with several low-high ranking officers, who are locals of the mainland, openly declaring that if the government leaves the Mainland, they will not support them any longer. While the governments response to this has been harsh with most known officers to express this opinion having been arrested or "silenced", the fact that this is even known in the news media demonstrates that the officers are not as few in number as the government would hope them to be. However, top Generals insist that the military will continue to serve the government and continue their push into Red Stad from the north.

Dorvik is Warned that War will come if they interfere with Uprising
The newly relocated Parliament and Government of Merenbürg have put forward a official warning to the nation of Dorvik. The Declaration states that if the nation interferes in any manner what so ever, with the crushing of the "Mainland Uprising", that the Government of Darnussia, will see it as a Declaration of War, and will trigger alliances and counter military reaction. This, the Government hopes will send a clear message that the nation of Dorvik is to stay out of the affairs of the Darnussian and Nariki peoples.

Malivian troops at the border

Malivia has now mobilized its army, and sent a large contingent of troops to its borders with Darnussia. "Especially since the uprising happens on the mainland", says Minister of Defence Leopold Sayyasaburagh, "we have to prevent any fighting on Malivian soil!".

Together with the mobilization the government also declared a complete lockdown on the Darnussian border. Travel to and from Darnussia has become illegal.

Rumors have it, that this is not only out of concern for the citizens' well-being, but also because the assassination of the Raja can be traced to a radical leftist group, and there are more than just a few who now suspect that the uprising Darnussians have something to do with it.

COMMUNISTS CAPTURE THULE AS DORVISH FORCES ARRIVE

Dorvish forces pass dead communist fighters near Thule, Kozaria
WITH THE ARRIVAL of Dorvish military forces, the Communists have made significant gains and captured the hard-fought-over town of Thule in Kozaria. The communist "revolution" is assisted with news of further left-wing uprisings in northern Kozaria and southern Alkavon, as well as outbreaks of fighting in Doressa between anarchists and government forces. What's more, with rumours flying of government massacres of civilians, volunteers are continuing to flood to the communist forces to assist them, as well as independent left-wing militias being set up by many others, especially in Kozaria.

However, these military victories by the communists have come as a bitter-sweet moment, as it has been revealed that Arthur Bronstein V, leader of the PRA and mastermind of the uprisings, has been captured in Grasch, Alkavon by the Darnussian Army. Furthermore, where the Communists have appeared to make gains in the south, government forces have advanced in the north, taking over many strategically-important communist positions. Also, numerous attacks on government fortified positions by left-wing militias have been repelled, resulting in heavy casualties for the rebels.

Here, the Darnussian Broadcasting Service International have provided a helpful guide to the war for foreign observers.
There are essentially two major sides to this war: left-wing rebels and the Darnussian government.
The left-wing forces, generally called the rebels, communists or revolutionaries, consist of the communist People's Revolutinonary Army (PRA), the anacrhist Kozarian Freedom Army (KFA) as well as numerous independent left-wing militias set up to assist the rebellion. These forces are now assisted

The government forces consist of the Darnussian Armed Forces, as well as the Internal National Police Force (INPF). These government forces are being assisted by several right-wing paramilitary groups and militias.

The situation is that the PRA occupy the Kozarian city of Red Stad, and several surrounding towns. Both the government and the PRA are locked in stalemate, constantly battling over these towns. Outside the Red Stad battle-zone, the KFA are launching guerilla attacks on government positions, as well as sparking left-wing uprisings in other towns. There are numerous independent left-wing militias that are also assisting the the PRA in Red Stad, as well as conducting a guerilla war against the government. Dorvish forces have landed in Red Stad to help defend communist positions

All opposition to communist occupation in Red Stad has been wiped out, as clear frontlines are beginning to be drawn as Darnussia gets dragged deeper and deeper into full-scale civil war.
