Kafuri Internal Security Forces arrest four Likatonians suspected of espionage and terrorist acts. Kafuristan raises IMRL to "Code Red".

LEHONTI-- The Ministry of Defence announced today that Kafuri Internal Security Forces have arrested four Likatonians during an nightly raid on a remote farm in the Kafuri-Kalopian border region. The arrest was preceded by a short exchange of gunfire between the four man and the Kafuri Internal Security Forces, leaving two of the arrested man and 4 soldiers injured. The four man are being accused of spying for a foreign power, plotting terrorist acts against the State and being in the country illegally. Sources within the Ministry of Defence have confirmed that the Kafuri military has evidence that the arrested man work for the Likatonian Intelligence Agency and are part of a covert team paving the way for a possible invasion of Kafuristan by Likatonia. The Sources also confirmed that the four man had been taken for interrogation to the Abu Aziz Security Facility near the city of Boaz, Abi'nadi. This Security Facility is used as a prison for "unwanted and subversive" elemants within Kafuri society and is notorious for its use of unconventional interrogation methodes. The Ministry of Defence stated that the four man will be tried by a special military tribunal and could face the death penalty. Kafuri Internal Security Forces have increased security operations within the Kafuri-Kalopian border region the find and take out any other Likatonian covert units.

As a result of these arrests, the Kafuri Supreme Military Council has raised the Imperial Military Readiness Level to "Code Red", the highest level. The Supreme Command has ordered the complete and total mobilization of all Imperial Armed Forces, Imperial Guard and National Militia units. The raising of the IMRL to "Code Red" means that the Supreme Military Council views that foreign military incursions into Kafuri territory are imminent. Because of this, the Supreme Council has decided to build and extend fortifications allong the Kafuri coast to prevent an possible invasion by enemy forces. The Supreme Military Council also has announced that a ten mile strip along the entire coast will be designated as a restricted military zone. Entry to this zone by unautherized military and civilan personal will be considered an act of treason and will be dealt with accordingly.

Trigunskiy: First Blood to Trigunia!

Admiralty footage of the sinking Telamonese destroyer Espiritus in the Green Sea.

19 July 3171

The Admiralty released a press bulletin and photographs indicating the sinking of the Telamonese destroyer Espiritus and the damaging of at least one other capital vessel by the missile cruisers of Task Force Arquebus in the Green Sea. The bulletin stated that the Task Force was on war patrol in the Green Sea when both on-board and helicopter radar detected several suspected Telamonese vessels within missile range. The Task Force launched two small, unmanned drones toward the vessels and positively identified them as enemy combatants.

Vice Admiral Vladimir Petrov, commanding officer of Task Force Arquebus, received permission to sink the vessels and proceeded to fire six surface-to-surface anti-ship missiles. Three radar-guided KR-47 missiles are suspected to have hit the Telamonese ships, quickly sinking the Espiritus and suspected to have badly damaged a as-of-yet-unknown vessel. While the bulletin did not include the fate of the three other missiles, it is suspected that were shot down or deterred by Telamonese on-ship countermeasures, which are believed to be quite sophisticated and effective.

The fate of the crew of the Espiritus has not been disclosed, it is suspected that most either perished or are still in the sea given that no attempt at a rescue has been mounted by either side.

Meanwhile, the entrance of Telamon into the fray has caused much concern on the Home Islands. To quell public fears, the Admiralty has recalled a large proportion of the Fleet to home waters and has reportedly increased combat-air patrols of land-based fighters and airborne radar systems over the Green Sea to detect enemy ships and airpower.

LIKATONIAN DRONE ATTACK

Image
Unconfirmed footage of a Likatonian drone attack

The Federal Republic of Likatonia started its attack on Kafuristan with the destruction of many air defense bases and outposts in Kafuristan. Armed drones, which had been hovering over Kalopia-Kafuristan border areas, quickly moved into attack formation earlier this morning. The drones confirmed that 10 defense sites had been hit before 2 of the drones ran out of ammunition and the remaining 2 were shot down by the Kafuri Air Force.

Another attack by Likatonian Armed Air Force is expected later today, and although the target is unconfirmed, many military strategists seem to think that the naval forces of Hulstria, Kafuristan and Trigunia are going to be targeted, to create a safe path for the Likatonian Land Forces.

LAAF ATTACK NAVAL FORCES

Image
Unconfirmed photo of downed Kafuri Naval Vessel

The Likatonian Armed Air Force commenced its attack on the Naval Forces protecting Kafuristan from LLF land troops landing today. Over 500 aircraft rolled into Kafuri airspace and waters, and immediately commenced the bombardement and strategic attacks upon the large number of Kafuri Naval Forces in the area.

The LAAF sustained a huge loss, with 279 aircraft KIA and over 100 MIA. More than 500 pilots are missing, and the majority of these men are assumed dead. However, LAAF reports detailed a strong loss of naval forces aswell, although no report could be confirmed. The remaining 120 aircraft who were in the battle retreated upon orders and were unable to put a number in the losses of Kafuri Navy.

Officials say that this is the first wave of the attack, and over 400 aircraft, including 60 from the first attack, are en-route to Kafuristan to continue the battle. LNF vessels carrying the LLF troops are nearing Kafuristan and the pressure is on LAAF to create a safe landing zone for the LNF.

The first wave of the attack was code-named Unda Rubet, while the next wave has been given Morus Ruber, with 3 remaining waves being held in reserve. LAAF officials claim that the first wave completed what they hoped, weakening Kafuri Naval Defenses, and are hoping the second wave will weaken the Kafuri Allied Naval Forces, that of Trigunia and Hulstria.

Kafuri Second Fleet suffers heavily from Likatonian aerial attacks.

LEHONTI-- The Imperial Second Fleet has suffered heavy losses today after they battled and drove back element of the Likatonian Airforce. At the moment of the attack the Second Fleet, under the command of Admiral Yaqub ibn Navid Ali, was stationed outside the Emir Ameen Naval Base, near Ahaz in the O'mer Province, waiting to be resupplied. After the radar network picked up the Likatonian aircraft, th air-raid sirens sounded and an wave of panic got grip of the fleet. Hastily ship crews took up battle position and waited for the upcomming onslaught. Over 500 Likatonian aircraft rolled into Kafuri airspace and immediately commenced the bombardement and strategic attacks upon the Second Fleet. The battle lasted for several houres and resulted in a marginal victory for the Second Fleet, destroying a majority of the Likatonian aricraft. Although winning the battle, the Second Fleet suffered heavy losses. Four ships, including two heavy cruisers, a destroyer and a frigate, had been sunk by the air-raid. Another 10 ships, including the flagship K.N.V. "Naji I", were damaged, several of them severly, and needed to be towed back to nearby naval bases. The human toll on the Kafuri side was immense, nearly 800 death and hundreds, including Admiral Yaqub ibn Navid Ali, had been wounded. 200 sailors are missing in action and are presumed death. The Supreme Military Council of Kafuristan has ordered the redeployement of the Third Fleet to the O'mer theatre.

LAAF ATTACKS HULSTRIAN, TRIGUNIAN NAVY

Image
Photo taking before the sinking of the Trigunian Aircraft Carrier after the first attack

The second wave of the attack on Kafuri Allied Naval Forces started, and finished today. The 'Morus Ruber' wave of LAAF aircraft was 425 strong, with 64 of the same aircrafts and pilots who flew in operation 'Unda Rubet'. The LAAF sustained significantly less losses in naval conflict, mainly to a less-than-expected naval forces of allied nations to Kafuristan.

When the 400 aircraft reached the coastal waters of Kafuristan, they engaged only 3 naval fleets. 1 was from the nation of Trigunia, and had been originally very strong when scouting operations had been commenced by LAAF. However, due to the entrance of Telamon and Keymon into the South Ocean War, the majority of naval vessels and fleets had moved back into a defensive position to protect Trigunia. The small fleet that remained, including a small aircraft carrier, was sunk by the Likatonian Armed Air Force. LAAF sustained 56 KIA aircraft, and over 70 killed pilots.

'Morus Ruber' also engaged the Hulstrian Naval Forces protecting the coast. A slightly larger force, there were 2 fleets in the attack zone. LAAF sustained 103 KIA aircraft and 13 are MIA. A larger Hulstrian Naval Forces, much stronger than what was protecting Kafuristan right now, is thought to be on its way to the defense of Kafuristan. The two fleets in the area have been confirmed as terminated, and survivors were seen swimming from the wrecks. LAAF have captured 16 naval officers of the Hulstrian Navy, and they are being taken back to Likatonia post-haste.

Further attacks are expected to take place to further detriment the Kafuri Navy protecting the coast.

HULSTRIAN IMPERIAL NAVY STRIKES BACK
Hulstrian Imperial Navy, Air Corp Launch Offensive Following Several Likatonian Attacks
Image
BATTLE OF O'MAR COAST
After several Likatonian Air Force attacks upon Coalition forces stationed in Kafuristan, the Imperial Navy along with the Imperial Air Corp today launched a counter offensive against the Likatonia naval force attempting to break through coalition naval defenses along the Kafuri coast. Ships from the Black Phoenix III class engaged with several Likatonian cruisers and destroyers near the O'mer coast. The attack was seen as a retaliation towards Likatonia's surprise attack upon several Hulstrian and Trigunian ships; the Hulstrian ships were refueling and awaiting reinforcements, reinforcements that are expected to arrive in Kafuristan very soon, and take part in the offensive. Defense officials and military commanders noted that the attack made by the Black Phoenix III pushed back the Likatonia cruisers and destroyers outwards from the O'mer coast. Remaining Likatonian ships are suspected to have fallen back to a Likatonian aircraft carrier. Officials added that the attack will be one of "many attacks" to prevent a Kafuri invasion and that the Coalition defending Kafuristan "will remain strong and vigilant" towards Likaton aggression. The attack marks the first Hulstrian offensive strike against Likatonia in the South Ocean War.

Vremja: Trigunian Shipbuilding Stepped Up

Image
Cheya-class missile cruiser under construction in undisclosed Trigunian shipyard. This cruiser was constructed up to this point in a mere 100 hours.

A great feat of industry and a perfect example of the nation's production model is ever present in the world famous shipyards of Trigunia. The nation's private shipbuilding firms as well as thousands of other private firms have organized themselves by following Plan Orange. Plan Orange is the Trigunian military's economic organizational program that optimizes and strictly plans the production of the tools for war. Much credit must be given to the private industries who have all willfully and enthusiastically embraced the Plan out of a sense of patriotism and duty.

Under the Plan, the major shipbuilding industries of Trigunia have been humming, effectively pooling their tens of thousands of skilled welders and builders towards the production of pre-designated ship models and designs. Because of this movement of foresight mixed with imaginative production streamlining, the shipyards are now turning out one destroyer every 100 hours and one cruiser every 150 hours.

Included in Plan Orange is the modification of the banking and financially industries which are now regulated, mostly by their own recognizance, and under the command of the National Chamber of Commerce. This has enable the Government to not only take out pre-approved loans but also quickly issue various kinds of long- and short-term bonds. All of these are now being used to finance the sinews of war.

The final sector of the economy that has been mobilized by Plan Orange has been that of the information and electronics. Electronic devices have become vitally important in air, naval, and intelligence warfare. With Trigunia's major firms working together on military contracts, the electronic abilities of the nation's military is state-of-the-art. This sector is, again, governed by the National Chamber of Commerce.

The credit for the greatly effective and inventive tenets of Plan Orange should fall on the shoulders of the Vicereine's office and the National Chamber of Commerce. With their guidance, it seems safe to say that Trigunia will prevail and end this war quickly.
