PRF Send 40,000 To Lalaka

The Pro-Republican Forces today deployed 40,000 men to Borenu in order to aid the Battle of Lalaka. The remaining 80,000 troops are in Sonhata preparing for the attack on the Capital. Nicholas Davidson passed control of the 40,000 men to Defence Minister Aaron Browning and the troops have already been involved in heavy fighting. Should Borenu fall to allied forces only two other provinces outside the Capital will remain - Bogendo and Hufata.

Indrala Shells Allied Positions

May 3188

On the first day of fighting, Indrala forces shelled Allied positions causing disunity among Allied ranks. In the confusion a few thousand Allied soldiers were killed. Allied forces quickly mobolized to return fire against the Indrala base camp. The two sides traded missiles and shells at each other for most of the day. Indrala causalities from the counterattack were light. Allied commanders decided to wait out the shelling until Indrala would run out of munitions, and then press forward with a frontal attack.

Fierce Fighting in Borenu

June 3188

Allies quickly retreat back to the coast of Borenu after suffering heavy causalities from Indrala forces. Using state of art weaponry developed over years of militarization in Indrala, Allied tanks, artillery, SAM weapons, and armored vehicles could not compete. A contigent of Allied troops remained in Lalaka where urban fighting too place among several blocks. The remaining forces retreated to the beach where they were then evacuated by Jelbanian/Deltarian naval ships. Indrala forces attempted to pursuie, but Allied battleships pounded the beach. Indrala forces suffered heavy causalities and retreated away from the beach; additional Jakanian civilians were killed.

July 3188

Allied forces retaliated against Indrala with a coherant strategy put in place by General Matthew Harmon. With a combination of bombings from Deltaria and swarms of Allied troops, tens of thousands of soldiers forced the Indrala army up a series of hills. Trapped on the hillside, Indrala forces were hit hard with continuous bombing runs and artillery fire. Using thousands of men as fodder, Lt. General Andy Jackson began to overrun Indrala positions. Indrala also faced harsh weather conditions they were not accustomed to. Being in the southern hemisphere, Jakanian winters were harsh on Indrala troops and morale. Many suffered frostbite and a large number of equipment failures resulted. Deltarians used to the cold took the lead. After the battle had ended, tens of thousands of men on both sides had been killed.

Indrala Forces Battle Deltarians, Weather

August 3188

Deltarians took the lead destroying pockets of Indrala resistance in the snowy mountains of Jakania. Prepared for the cold weather, Deltarian tanks inflicted heavy causalities on the Indralas. However, Deltarians were outmatched 2:1 in numbers and were never able to overtake Indrala defensive positions. Indrala General Ma Zhong had hoped to stall the Allies until the spring, but he soon became apparent he was willing too many men. Advised by his officers, General Zhong petititioned the Emperor to retreat from Jakania. The Emperor believed Zhong to have faught bravely and honorably bringing great credit upon himself and his men. He accepted the General's proposal allowing for a orderly retreat out of the mountains towards Sonhata.

End Result

Allies won a strategic victory in capturing Lalakla in Borenu, Jakania. Still, the Indrala were able to inflict a heavy toll on the Allies, a 2:1 advantage in causalities. While resistance continues in Borenu, the Allies have secured the province and are moving eastward to center of the country.

Lalaka Under Allied Occupation

Soon after the fall of Lalaka to Allied forces in the fall of 3188, the city was made an occupation zone by all major parties. Deltaria, Jelbania, and Barmenian forces divided the city in three sections, each having administrative control. Barmenia was awarded the small section, but were granted the section that has the world famous Jakanian Zoo; presumably the wild cats there have been freed. The Republic of Jaknian forces were instructed by the Allies to continue the fight in Sonhata while Allied forces quelled any dissent in Borenu. Deltarians, who are highly trained in such things were given command of the military police in the city. Dissidents of either side were quickly dealt with. The Allied powers are now in control of the police, fire, utilities, sewer, and other necessary services to the city. One of the more pressing needs is heat for Lalaka residents. All freedom of the press, assembly, and civilian trial are temporarily suspended. The city is also under a mercantile arrangement whereby the city can only sell to Allied powers and may only buy from Allied powers. Natural resources like precious metals, oil, and so on are being sent back to Allied countries to pay for the war. Political analysts have factored Allied occupation with the Monarchist rise in support in the polls.

Update March 3189

Despite an electoral victory by the Monarchist forces in Jakania, Allied forces continue to ignore the election. The Head of State, while won by the Monarchists was not named and thus vacant. Allied forces thus declare that there is no Head of State for Jakania and are willing to substitute Allied Commander Matthew Harmon as acting Head of State for Jakania. The mission remains the same and if the Monarch Syed shows his face, he will be killed on site. Presumably the Head of Government for a new cabinet may become acting Head of State, but such an individual would immediatly be targeted by the Allies. Allied forces discount the impact of the election as illegitamet, and even if the Monarchist legislature were to attempt to bring the old rule they cannot do so under constitutional rules. Allies are thus spinning the election as a victory for Republicans as the Monarch will not be able to return for at least several years.

General Andy Jackson Becomes Allied Commander

In a peaceful transition, Jelbanian Minister of Defense and General Andy Jackson will be the Allied Commander in the Jakanian Civil War. His powers of command encompas Jelbania, Deltaria, Barmenia, and Jakanian Republican forces. Presumably he would also be the Allied Commander to Rutunian and Likatonian troops in the field in Sonhata, but communication problems have made that command difficult to verify. Jelbanian troops will be increased from 78,000 to 150,000 in light of new Monarchist enthusiasm in Jakania. Beluzia will be banned from being a part of the coalition due to their communist leanings.

General Matthew Harmon will remain General of Deltarian forces and a member of Jackson's staff. The transition of Allied Commanders is rotational and by no means dishonorable. General Harmon was awarded for excellent leadership by the Deltarian government. Defense Minister Ptah Chartreux of Barmenia will continue to serve as the equivalency of a Major General.

Indrala Rewards General Ma Zhong

Indrala's Emperor rewarded General Ma Zhong for his heroic leadership in the Battle of Lalaka. Although a strategic defeat for the Monarchists, the Indrala general managed to kill twice as many people as he lost. General Zhong visited Indrala briefly to accept his reward, and is now back in the field in Sonhata battleing against battle hardened Likatonians.

Three killed in convoy attack in Borenu

WAKANDA, JAKANIA-- Abadi insurgents in western Jakania cut the throats of three security guards in the latest fatal attack on a Allied truck convoy headed for the city of Lalaka. The guards were killed at a Allied truck terminal near the city of Lalaka. Suspected AAPK and Pro-Syed rebels also damaged 10 oil tankers carrying fuel to resupply Allied troops in Lalaka, a local Jakanian government administrator said.

Attacks by AAPK rebels and organized local criminal gangs on Allied supply convoys are common once the vehicles cross the Deltarian-Jakanian border in Borenu province. Military escorts for the vehicles are common once they approach the mountainous and isolated areas in the province. Hundreds of Allied supply trucks have been destroyed or damaged in the past several weeks. Figures released to by Allied Forces indicated that in the last month, more than 145 truck drivers and guards were killed in attacks and 123 vehicles were destroyed.

Earlier this week rebels blew up 11 tankers and killed four people -- two guards and two drivers -- at a terminal on the outskirts of the city of Lalaka. Allied officials said around two dozen armed men attacked the parked vehicles and planted timed devices on 12 out of the 18 tankers. One of the devices failed to explode. Six people including five drivers and one of their assistants also were injured in the attack.

In another attack, rebels destroyed at least 27 Allied fuel tankers along the usual supply route. Witnesses said around 15 men armed with rocket launchers and assault rifles fired on the vehicles before setting them on fire.

Allied Base Constructed

Allied response to the targeting the destruction of oil tankers is to cut off the natural gas pipeline from Borenu to the rest of the country. Allied ships on the coast of Borenu through Lake Majatra will continue to supply the Allied base at Lalaka. The price of gas for the citizens will go up and will be rationed. Allied Commander Andy Jackson authorized a strike on a Monarchist town on the Borenu/Sonhata border wiping it off the face of Terra with missils and shells; the causalities of which number in the few thousands. A strict curfew is being enforced in Lalaka, and Jakanian vehicles will not be allowed to leave or enter without going through check points. Fuel trucks will be escorted by humvees and armored vehicle each armed with 50 Calibure rounds. They have been authorized to fire on anything that looks suspicious. As according to Jelbanian lalw, land mines are now being installed around the city perimeter.
