What a first day of tennis, where Likatonia shined and has become one of the early favourites, along with Gaduridos, with both of Likatonia's mens and womens team leading their respective groups. We also see that the home team of Al'Badara has struggled out of the gate as neither team has yet to win a game and they also only won 1 set between the mens and womens team.

Most of the men's matches where done after two sets, with Dex Regin of Likatonia defeating Ameen Qasem in the first match, followed by victory by Martin Santosso of Gaduridos over Badr ibn Hasan al-Hakim of Kafuristan, Kurt Vaughn of Ikradon defeating Abdul Aalee Aramnjani of Al'Badara and As'ad al-Hashem of Kafuristan defeating Peter Sterdron of Dranland in two sets, respectively. Robert DeVille of Ikradon came back and defeated Tommy Fournes of Likatonia in 3 sets, while Marvin Polonsk of Gaduridos and Jonas Holenskon of Dranland swapped tiebreakers before Polonsk won the third set, defeating Holenskon.

On the women's side, Adele Sloan of Ikradon defeated Mehboob Ali of Al'Badara, Amy Picker of Likatonia defeated Missy Williams of Ikradon in two sets each and Jolana Sereven of Dranland defeated Nasira al-Hashem of Kafuristan, each in 2 two sets. The other matches finished in a tiebreaker, with Julia Gerandi of Likatonia defeating Lamees Ommar of Al'Badara, Franchesca Mansur of Gaduridos defeating Aminah Alfarsi of Kafuristan, and Endricke Lorensberg of Dranland defeating Lisa Moulin of Gaduridos

The leaders after 2 games each is Gaduridos in Group A and Likatonia in Group B on the men's side, and Kafuristan, in a very tight Women's Group A, and Likatonia once again in the Women's Group B.

The player of Match-Day 1 is Dex Regin of Likatonia, when he made quick work of Ameen Qasem of Al'Badara, in the opening match of the World Cup, finishing the match 2 - 0, and 12 - 5 in games.

The Match of the Day was when Lamees Ommar of Al'Badara, faced Julia Gerandi of Likatonia in the Women's opening game, where Gerandi won a fiercely contested match 2 - 1 on sets, and finished the match with a 19 - 17 games record. The match lasted a total of 36 sets, and also included two fiercely contested set tie-breakers, including the last set.

Tune in tomorrow for more matches, and see if the home team Al'Badara can commence a comeback for the title, or if Likatonia can keep it's lead in both groups on their way to the titles!

A) [GAD] N. Nolasco > [KAF] A. Nejem (4-6, 6-3, 6-4)

Standings:

Gr. A
1. KAF | 2 - 2 | 6 - 4 | 55 - 49
2. GAD | 2 - 2 | 6 - 6 | 59 - 57

2. IKR | 2 - 2 | 5 - 5 | 53 - 48
3. ALB | 1 - 3 | 4 - 7 | 54 - 65

It may have been the second day of matches, but the standing didn't change at all. On the men's side, Gaduridos is still unbeaten, 4 - 0 after a tight game between Gaduridos' Samuel Polonsk and Dranland's Paul Masdolen, and a comeback win by Gaduridos' Stanley Corrina, against Kafuristan's Ibraheem ibn Abdelkharim al-Najaf. Al'Badara got it's first win today, when Al'Badara's Osama Ali overcame Likatonia's Robert Stenses. Al'Badara's Nazeeha Sulayman also defeated Barbara Addams of Ikradon to get the first match win for the women's Al'Badara team. Likatonia kept it's leads in both the men's and women's Group B, while women's Group A has seen no clear front-runner, with Kafuristan leading on sets record.

The Player of the Match-Day goes to Thurayya Nagi of Kafuristan, when she defeated Samantha Gregory of Dranland easily in the first set, and then tightly in the second one. Nagi won 2 - 0, and 13 - 6 in games.

The Match of the Day goes to the second men's match of Dranland's Paul Masdolen being beaten by Gaduridos' Samuel Polonsk, where Polonsk won both tie-breakers, including the second one to finish the match, that lasted 36 games.

After 2 days, Likatonia still looks like an early favourite, Gaduridos men's is on a great run, Women's Group A seems like a very interesting group waiting for one country to rocket out to first, and the host Al'Badara has seen it's first victories in both tournament. Tune in tomorrow for Match-Day 3, where Kurt Vaughn of Ikradon faces Dex Regin of Likatonia, with both winning their last match, and Regin being named player of the match-day. See you tomorrow!

Day 3 of games, and have we had surprises. Gaduridos lost 2 games in the men's tournament today, while Dranland won twice and survived elimination, with Peter Sterdron of Dranland defeating Martin Santosso of Gaduridos, and Dranland's Jonas Holenskon defeating Badr ibn Hasan al-Hakim of Kafuristan, while Kafuristan's As'ad al-Hashem defeated Marvin Polonsk of Gaduridos. Meanwhile, Ikradon's Kurt Vaughn defeated Dex Regin of Likatonia in two sets, and Al'Badara Ameen Qasem defeated Ikradon's Robert DeVille in two easy sets. When Tommy Fournes of Likatonia faced Abdul Aalee Armanjani of Al'Badara, the game lasted the maximum 39 games with 3 tiebreakers, finally won by Fournes.

While on the women's side, Dranland took control of Group A, with two wins, when Jolana Sereven of Dranland defeated Franchesca Mansur of Gaduridos, and when Endricke Lorensberg of Dranland defeated Aminah Alfarsi of Kafuristan in two sets, one of Kafuristan's two losses, next to the defeat of Nasira al-Hashem of Kafuristan, by Lisa Moulin of Gaduridos. Al'Badara also lost twice, when Missy Williams of Ikradon defeated Lamees Ommar of Al'Badara, and whn Amy Picker of Likatonia defeated Muyassar Ali of Al'Badara. With Julia Gerandi of Likatonia winning earlier, defeating Adele Sloan of Ikradon, Likatonia statistically eliminated Al'Badara, as they are now unable to qualify for the finals.

The Player of the Match-Day is Al'Badara's Ameen Qasem, defeating Ikradon's Robert DeVille in two sets, and 12-3 in games, including the final shutout set.

The Match of the Day was definitely when Likatonia's Tommy Fournes faced Al'Badara's Abdul Aalee Armanjani, that had the maximum 39 games and 3 tiebreakers, ultimately won by Fournes.

We've seen our first team, Al'Badara, technically eliminated, one team, Likatonia, very close to winning it's group, and other groups that's still pretty close, including one with a disappointing day, Gaduridos, but that still leads it's groups. We'll see you tomorrow with the last group meetings and see who faces who in the finals!

An exciting day of matches on the last match-day, with some surprises.

The day started with Samuel Polonsk of Gaduridos defeating Jabril Muhammad of Kafuristan, and clinching the group and locking Gaduridos' place at the top of Group A, and in the Gold Medal finals. In the other group, Likatonia missed their chance early to clinch, when Likatonia's Billy Cliffen lost to Ikradon's Michael Wentworth, and later on Ikradon clinched the group in the final game, when Ikradon's Tommy Wright defeated Al'Badara's Osama Ali. Kafuristan ends up in second place in Group A, due to games-record, after Gaduridos' Stanley Corrina defeated George Molespierre of Dranland. Kafuristan will face Likatonia, who would finish in second place due to sets-record after falling to Ikradon, and Al'Badara's fall to Ikradon.

On the women's side, Likatonia did clinch in the second women's game of the day, when Brittany Fumes of Likatonia defeated Nazeeha Sulayman of Al'Badara in three sets. Likatonia's women side would end up winning it's second game, and finish 7-1, best record in the tournament. In the other, tighter group, Kafuristan eliminated Gaduridos in the first women's match when Kafuristan Thurayya Nagi defeated Gaduridos' Rebecca Prancer in two sets. Later on, Dranland clinched the group in it's first of two wins on the day, when Dranland's Mary Holensborn defeated Kafuristan's Ayda Nejem in two sets. Kafuristan finished second in Group A, by sets-record, after two losses by Gaduridos on the day. Kafuristan will face Ikradon, that finished second place, even after two losses, due to Al'Badara's loss to Likatonia.

Player of the Match-Day is Tommy Wright of Ikradon, defeating Osama Ali of Al'Badara in two sets, 12 - 5 on games, and that win also clinched Ikradon a spot in the Gold Medal Final, denying Likatonia the spot.

Match of the Day is Michael Wentworth comeback and defeat of Likatonia's Billy Cliffen, denying Likatonia the group lead and spot in the final, a spot that Ikradon would later clinch.

Tomorrow, we have the best-of-five series for the bronze, and gold medals. 4 different nations qualified for the two Gold Medal Finals series, Gaduridos and Ikradon on the men's side, and Dranland and Likatonia on the women's side. For the bronze medals, both Kafuristan teams, along with Likatonia on the men's side, and Ikradon on the women's side, will play for it.

Both teams of Likatonia, with the best record of 7 - 1 by the women's team, Ikradon and Kafuristan have qualified for medal games, while none of the host Al'Badara's team have qualified, both finishing 2-6, the worst record in the tournament. Likatonia's cumulative record of 12 - 4 is the best nations record, while 4 - 12 is the worst record, held by the home-teams of Al'Badara.

See you tomorrow for the medal rounds, and the finals!

What a day has it been, with two well fought series, and the maximum ten matches played, that included 26 seats.

First off, in the men's Bronze Medal Series, we see that even-though Kafuristan won game one, and had a 2-1 lead and won the first set in match 4, that Kafuristan laters lost in a tiebreaker, they went on to lose match 5 in two sets to Likatonia's Dex Regin, who lost the first game against Badr ibn Hasan al-Hakim, but was able to beat him the final match.

On the women's side, we see that Ikradon won the first match, Kafuristan won two in a row to enjoy a 2-1 lead, with their clinching win in the last game in two sets, where Aminah Alfarsi of Kafuristan defeated Adele Sloan of Ikradon, a reversal of the first match's result.

Tomorrow, we will have the two finals, and see who will become Tennis World Champion! Will it be Gaduridos or Ikradon on the men's side, and will it be Dranland or Likatonia on the women's side! Tomorrow will also be the official medal giving ceremony, where Likatonia will get their Men's Bronze medal, and Kafuristan will get their Women's Bronze medal. Both Men's Kafuristan and Women's Ikradon will get a consolation 4th place price.
