The drill is the same as last time, except now we find ourselves in the sunny Repubblica Istaliana (aka Quanzar)!

4 - Istaliana -V- Deltaria - 2
4 - Deltaria -V- Cildania - 0
2 - Cildania -V- Istaliana - 2
2 - Deltaria -V- Istaliana - 2

With that draw the hosts are almost definitely through. Only if there is a draw between Cildania and Deltaria might Istaliana's qualification come into question. Cildania, meanwhile, need at least 4 points from two games to qualify.

2 - Cildania -V- Deltaria - 1
1 - Istaliana -V- Cildania - 2

Team -- Pts ; W - D - L
Cildania -- 7 ; 2 - 1 - 1
Istaliana -- 5 ; 1 - 2 - 1

Deltaria -- 4 ; 1 - 1 - 2

The runners-up of 3234 go home packing! Cildania make it into the quarter-finals with a stylish comeback!

4 - Zardugal -V- Selucia - 3
0 - Selucia -V- Kalopiká D - 3
2 - Kalopiká D -V- Zardugal - 2
2 - Selucia -V- Zardugal - 2

Zardugal are through after that draw! Selucia, meanwhile, on 1 point, will have to beat the Kalopiká Dictatoría impressively in their last game to even have a chance of qualifying on goal difference!

4 - Kalopiká D -V- Selucia - 0
3 - Zardugal -V- Kalopiká D - 4

Kaloopiká top the group, and in style! 6 points from their last two games give them a total of 10, and an unbeaten record heading into the knockout stages!

Kalopíka Dict. -- 10 ; 3 - 1 - 0
Zardugal -- 5 ; 1 - 2 - 1

Selucia -- 1 ; 0 - 1 - 3

4 - Cobura -V- Jelbania - 0
2 - Barmenia -V- Badara - 2
2 - Barmenia -V- Cobura - 2
4 - Badara -V- Jelbania - 2

The last two matches certainly look interesting. Whoever wins between Cobura and Badara will top the group, while the loser will fall below Barmenia if they can beat Jelbania. If Cobura-Badara match is a draw however, Cobura will go through, while Barmenia will need to beat Jelbania by 3 goals to knock Badara out of goal difference. For Jelbania, it is all over, though pride will no doubt see them put up a good fight on the night.

3 - Jelbania -V- Barmenia - 0
3 - Cobura -V- Badara - 2

Cobura go top after a victory over Badara, who also go through courtesy of Jelbania's impressive victory over Barmenia, which takes them into 3rd place and leaves Barmenia bottom.

Cobura -- 7 ; 2 - 1 - 0
Badara -- 4 ; 1 - 1 - 1

Jelbania -- 3 ; 1 - 0 - 2
Barmenia -- 2 ; 0 - 2 - 1

3 - Kafuristan -V- Solentia - 1
2 - Solentia -V- UK Beiteynu & Jutridan - 0
1 - UK Beiteynu & Jutridan -V- Kafuristan - 0
2 - Solentia -V- Kafuristan - 4

With the cold heartless maths of a drawless group, there could be a three-way tie if UKBJ repeat their previous performances of a loss to Solentia and a victory against Kafuristan. Why risk it all, though? A win against Solentia will put them and Kafuristan through before the final match.

2 - UK Beiteynu & Jutridan -V- Solentia - 0
3 - Kafuristan -V- UK Beiteynu & Jutridan - 2

With a victory in the final match, Kafuristan take top spot and will face the runners-up of group A in the quarter-finals. For Beiteynu & Jutridan, getting past the quarter-finals would mark the first time they have managed to do so since the IVth Cup.

Kafuristan -- 9 ; 3 - 0 - 1
UK Beiteynu & Jutridan -- 6 ; 2 - 0 - 2

Solentia -- 3 ; 1 - 0 - 3

Knockout Stages

Postby Hugh Green » Tue Jan 10, 2012 9:12 am

Quarter-Finals

0 - Cildania -V- UK Beiteynu & Jutridan - 2

2 - Badara -V- Kalopiká Dict. - 1

1 - Cobura -V- Zardugal - 0

1 - Kafuristan -V- Istaliana - 1
*Istaliana win 2-0 on Penalties

The two remaining top-seeders will fight each other in the semi finals, while for Badara and UKBJ, one of them will reach the final, ending years of poor form!

Semi-Finals

2 - UK Beiteynu & Jutridan -V- Badara - 4

0 - Cobura -V- Istaliana - 0
*Cobura win 4-1 on Penalties

Cobura and Badara are historically the best performing teams in the Majatran Cup, with Cobura having appeared in their tenth semi-final (and now making the final 4 times). Badara, meanwhile, were in the Final FIVE TIMES IN A ROW before the Majatran Cup went on hiatus. In recent years their star has faded but what a star it was! Both teams have two Majatran Cups under their belt, and whoever wins the final will become the first country to win this magnificent competition 3 times!

Third-Place Play-off

4 - UK Beiteynu & Jutridan -V- Istaliana -1

Both these teams have put on an impressive show to get this far. UKBJ will be over-the-moon with the bronze medals, while Istaliana will be sad to lose so heavily in their last game as hosts.
