Recent political changes in Al'Badara have seen a wave of animosity from foreign powers. Following the Liberation of Al'Badara from constricting imperial treaties, our powerful island nation has witnessed continuous attack and sabotage by foreign powers. Those nations of Zardugal and Kafuristan in particular have violently opposed the due course of the Royal Red Revolution. Following the Nationalization of all industry, agriculture, housing, arms production, roads, seas, and insects, particularly the Nationalization of the vast Al'Badaran oil reserves, the nation has witnessed meddling and general nogoodnicking from domestic spies, masquerading as Al Tahalof Al Sha'bi Al Democraty.

Sources at Badara State Media report that members of Al Democraty executed several dozen Kafuristani and Zardic expatriates, in order to frame the ruling Society government.

Such destruction of a Nation undergoing to growing pains of Ideological Purity, our nation has been forced into war with Kafuristan.

OUR FORMER ALLIANCE
As Comrades within the Majatra for many thousands of years was forever destroyed several hundred years ago, following the the signature of the Kafuristan and Zardic Pact of Comity. This pact allowed Zardugal, a free market nation of David's and John's, wearing expensive suits and polished shoes, rich off the blood of Majatran work, devoid of religion or purpose. This Zardic Corporatists gained control over the economic destiny of Kafuristan, and of Al'Badara as well.

UNTIL THE RISE OF THE UNION
With the rise of the Communist Society and now-assimilated Socialist Bloc parties, Al'Badara was freed of its former Liberterian Theocratic Nightmare and sunken deeply into Vanguard Autocracy. We now see those of true Merit made leaders, rather than those of religious predestiny or economic plunder. Under the Laws of the Society, Al'Badara saw the creation of the Vanguard classes, those who, having been voted as such by their fellow labor union members, were deemed responsible and worthy of Citizenship.

YET IN KAFURISTAN
We saw the rise of Nordic overlords, seizing the nation and plunging it into culture wars. The Nords, having majority party control of the nation, enacted many bizzare and tyrannical laws.

IN RESPONSE
We have seen the rise of radical Abadi clerics, preaching theocracy and libertarian ideals of private tyrannies in the hands of private individuals. They wish to send the destiny of their Majatran nation to a wealthy religious elite.

Kafuristan on High Alert; War Preparations Made Throughout Nation

With anticipation of the outbreak of war, Kafuristan, as early as June, began making defensive preparations. The preparations are reaching their height as the Badaran Parliament continues its vote on the declaration of war. Whether war occurs appears to lay in the hands of the legislators of the House of al-Majali, who have yet to vote on the war. While a chance does exist that war will be averted, Foreign Minister Samir al-Aziz has stated that Kafuristan will not make any changes to its defenses even if the legislation fails.

The declaration could fail approval, but that doesn't make us any bit safer. We do not doubt the chance that the radical Badaran government will simply bypass the parliament and attack anyways. They control the military, nothing stops them from attacking at this very moment, before the bill even concludes voting. Over this past summer the Kafuri Government announced that it would be applying a non-recognition status to the new Badaran government, led by Jalal Al-e-Ahmad. The recognized regime in Badara is that of Dr. Mohamed Al Baradii, the ousted Prime Minister.

In August, when the rumors of a declaration of war began Prime Minister Zayn Nasri declared control of the Defense Ministry after communications issues within the Nasri Government. Since then the Kafuri military has been mobilized and placed on high alert. Citizens have been informed of the threat of invasion and been reminded of Kafuristan's civil defense structures. While a draft has not been declared, able-bodied adults have been encouraged to volunteer with the military.

A short statement was provided to the media regarding Kafuristan's war operations:

The primary concern right now is defense. We are coordinating our military forces so to ensure that the borders of Kafuristan, whether on land or in the air, are not penetrated by Badara. Once we assess the abilities of the Badaran military, further military operations will be considered. - Prime Minister Zayn Nasri

Unity among Kafuris is strong, however some unrest has occurred among the republican circles of the Prime Minister's own party. As Kafuristan draws closer to war the existing monarchy is hardly functioning and the palace sits empty. As Kafuristan is a kingdom the military includes an oath to the monarch; a monarch which continues to be absent. With war looming, minor protests have occurred, mostly in the NDP stronghold of Abi'nadi, calling for a "President Nasri." The government has been largely quiet about the protests and only the Internal Ministry has addressed the issue, merely urging the protesters to "for now not let political demands override the major issue right now, Badaran invasion."

Zardugal prepares for war

The bill to declare war on Kafuristan seems to have gained sufficient votes to pass through the Badaran legislature. Therefore, in anticipation of war, the Zardic President, Karen Sosa, has ordered the the military to prepare itself for war. The Zardic Armed Forces are now on the highest state of readiness.

If the Emergency Act passes through the Congress of Zardugal, conscription for the duration of the war will be introduced, and Zardugal will cease to recognise the government of Badara, instead recognising Al Tahalof Al Sha'bi Al Democraty as the legitimate government.

Opening salvos in the War on Kafuristan erupted today from Kafuristan troops, reports Badara State Media. Kafuristan began engagement upon a Union of Socialist Sultanates orphanage earlier this morning, reportedly firing wildly through all windows and several vents. In response, the Royal Red Amazonian Guard has been called into the conflict, invading the shores of Jerze'har even earlier this morning.

"This is very exciting" reports Amazonian Guard member Jaleh Al-Humad, "I've never Liberated a nation before." The military of Al'Badara has noticed a large shift in recent years, following the rise of the Communist Vanguard and House monarchists. "I got taken out of the office and put into a tank. It was quite sudden" comments Jaleh, "But it's not so complicated. The Kafuristanis fight like they didn't expect us here!" The Amazonians have been drafted universally, leaving only 4% of the female population in a civilian role, following mandatory conscription laws and enormous increases in military funding in the previous decade from Royal Red Vanguard Ministers.

Badara State Media also reports invasion plans within Zardugal, as the corporate fiefdom readies its military.

Kafuristan Enters Official State of War

Earlier this afternoon over fifty, including at least six children, were killed by a Badaran attack on civilian sites in Jerze'har. There were a large number of injured; a number having yet to be officially established. These attacks came following reports from Badara State Media that Kafuristan initiated an attack on an orphanage this morning.

All reports of Kafuri aggression within Badara are totally false. As the official declaration of war had not yet arrived, no troops were deployed to Badara. What has occurred today is a fabrication to allow an excuse to murder Kafuri civilians. Even if forces had been placed within the Badaran region targets would not have been placed on sites such as an orphanage.

Sadly, there is no changing what has occurred and we are now in a state of war. Our allies in Zardugal have assistance on the way. Additionally we expect to expel any Badaran presence on Kafuri soil. Currently Badaran forces have entered coastal cities of Jerze'har and we suspect this could become the center of Badaran operations in Kafuristan. Military forces will be concentrated appropriately in order to ensure that Badaran troops do not expand inland or into other coastal regions. For now we will hesitate to commence any large-scale aerial attacks on Kafuri city-centers that are in Badaran control. However heavy surveillance will be made on the Kafuri coast by the Air Force and Navy to find and destroy any Badaran vessels.

As a final remark, any citizens within the Badaran area of control: stay in safe locations and attempt to escape to Kafuri holdings if possible. Additionally, if faced by Badaran aggression, have no hesitation to use your firearms. Given the mandatory ownership of firearms we hope that the citizenry can weaken the Badaran forces from behind the front-line and expedite re-occupation. -- Prime Minister Zayn Nasri

Following the occupation of regions of Jerze'har, airstrikes commenced against Badaran naval vessels spotted near Kafuristan. At least two destroyers were sunk and an unknown amount of damage was done to other Badaran navy ships within the group. Just outside of occupied regions in Kafuristan troops have been concentrated to prevent any further advance. The Kafuri coastlines are being secured as well. In some parts of Jerze'har artillery strikes are being made on any discovered Badaran military headquarters.

In these dark times of crisis and conflict, I will keep my words brief.

We are not a nation that believes in war or aggression, but world events have forced our hand. Badara has invaded our ally, Kafuristan. Therefore, in compliance with our treaty obligations with Kafuristan, I, as President of Zarudgal, under the authority vested in me by the Congress of the Federation of Zardugal, must make this statement with a heavy heart:

A state of war now exists between Zardugal and Badara.

All the freedom-loving and peace-loving peoples in the world must now unite under the banner of liberty to combat the forces of evil and aggression. We will not surrender as long as there is an enemy that seeks to destroy the liberties that we enjoy.

Zardugal is at war
Prime Minister Dowdy has made an announcement to the nation announcing the reintroduction of the draft for the duration of the war:

Today, we are faced with a major international conflict. We are a nation that abhors war, and loves peace, but at this moment in time, an inexcusable attack against our ally Kafuristan necessitates the beginning of armed conflict between Zardugal and Badara. Due to the gravity of the situation, I must declare that all able-bodied men aged from 18 to 25 may now be drafted into the military. It is not a decision that I take lightly or willingly; I will never dismiss a decision which could risk the lives of our countrymen as insignificant. But today, it is necessary. I call upon those that can serve to step up to the plate to fight not just of Zardugal, but for the cause of liberty across the world.

A state of emergency now exists in Zardugal. Curfews are now being enforced to ensure order, although martial law has not been declared as Zardugal itself is not under attack.

The three carrier strike groups, led by the supercarriers ZNS Belgae, ZNS Darmoth and ZNS Kalvere, have arrived in Ephraim in the Kafuristani Emirate of O'mer. They will be undertaking combat missions shortly. They have also conveyed large amounts of supplies, weapons and ammunition to the Kafuristani military.

The Chief of Staff of the General Staff of the ZAF (Zardic Armed Forces), General James Fulcher, has announced that:

The brave soldiers, airmen and seamen of the Zardic Armed Forces will soon be beginning to take part in combat. We will stand shoulder to shoulder with the forces of our ally, Kafuristan, in the fight against the aggression of the Badarans. I am sure that we will ultimately prevail in this confict.

Kafuristan Launches Missile Strike into Badara

Overnight Kafuristan launched its first official attack into Badaran territory. In the earliest hours of the morning a huge explosion was heard outside of Ras al Ulima in Al Salmania, the closest province to Kafuristan. Within a few hours it was revealed that Kafuristan had launched a ballistic missile strike against the location. The location in question was operating as a large-scale weapons factory. Kafuri intelligence also stated that in addition to the manufacture of weapons, the location may have been one of the sites at which Badara stores its known stock of biological and chemical weapons.

While occupation still persists in the majority of the Jerze'har Emirate, the Nasri Government welcomed the success of the strike and expressed optimism for the future.
