The Egelian Military, during a land-based wargame
Early on the crisp, February morning, several hundred Egelian and Indralan soldiers stood in rank and file before a large, wooden, stage in the wooded areas within the province of Dul Kinea. On one side of the stage sat several Indralan military officials, and on the other several men bearing the grey-gold uniforms of the Egilian Military. A small murmur drifted around, and suddenly all went silent as the Great Generalissimo, Viceroy of the People of Egelion, Minister of Defense, His Excellency: Francisco, Duque de Nueva, wearing a shining, golden, tan military uniform with rope at the shoulder. He approached the microphones.
"Viva Egelion, and Viva Indrala! Today we are united: together as one! We are unstoppable!"
Wargames are expected to last through the week on land, and portions of the fleets from Egelion and Indrala are also carrying out naval operations off the coast of Lirath, a province in Dolgavas. This is expected to heighten the tensions between the alliance of Indrala and Egelion with the nation of Dolgavas. Recently, the Emperor of Dolgavas has laid claim to several titles already held by the Holy Emperor of Indrala. Generalissimo Francisco de Nueva said of the claims: "The illegitmate and confused rulers of Dolgavas dare to attack and lay claim on the titles of the Holy Emperor, whom I have devoted my life to protecting and defending - starting when I enlisted in the military as a child."
The naval exercises are somewhat controversial due to the sudden presence of the first Indralan aircraft carrier. Along with this, several ships were clearly being prepared for amphibious warfare, including both Indralan and Egelian forces. Many of the soldiers in the navy were new to the Egelian forces, as in accordance with a new draft put out by the Egelian government. The military of Egelion is usually simply paramilitary and private contract forces, but Francisco de Nueva expressed his need to expand and repair the military, which notably recently banned women and homosexuals from serving in combat.
The wargames and drills are going to be lasting throughout the month, much to the delight of both Egelian and Indralan commanders.
