Over the past year Zardugal has launched an all out campaign against Jakania after they threatened biological and chemical warfare against the Zards. Zardic officials claim Jakania was a threat to national security and that it has become a major sponsor of terrorism against Zardugal and her allies while threatening their interests. So far the Jakanian campaign has been very successful for Zardugal with "peacekeepers" mostly securing Borenu for Zardugal and shortly after the campaign was launched as Jakanian forces fractured and the central government lost its tenuous hold. Zardugal had been making swift progress in both directions until outside help in the form of "volunteer" brigades began arriving from Wantuni and Badara and combined with a rallying Jakanian militia have begun to slow the Zardic advance as they adopt urban warfare tactics and other guerilla tactics.
The Zardic navy has closed off southern sea access to Jakania and Wantuni while they are attempting to interdict transport between Badara and Wantuni. It is a similar story in the air as over the skies of Jakania, Zardic fighters keep the skies clear of enemy fighters allowing them to hit enemy targets with relative ease.
Domestic opposition groups are also forming in these countries with the Jakanian National Council becoming the major umbrella organization for the Zardic backed opposition while the New Jakanian Army continues to form from volunteers and defecting Jakanian army units. The NJA is headed by Brigadier General Qassim al-Quwati while the political JNC is led by a former democratic activist and opposition leader Rashid Bin al-Duwa.
In Badara the story in vastly different as the Zardic backed Free Badaran Army (FBA) has been defeated in regular combat after its revolt failed to gain much steam. Some members were able to flee to Zardic ships offshore but most either surrendered to a horrible fate or took up arms in a thus far light guerilla campaign. With major Zardic ally Solentia joining the war and Cobura preparing to join as well who knows how this will end....
