Here is the forum for all things world cup related! For now, we will make plans here and, when we have them, we can make the forum for the bidding and news aspects later.

Ok so here's what I'm thinking for the time periods of the World Cup:
We could try holding it every 15 years IG years (30 RL days) that way we wouldn't get burned out by the games if we held them every week nor would we lose interest in them if we held them every century.

Days 1-5: Bidding opens
Day 6: Bidding closes
Days 7-9: Voting
Day 10: Host nation selected
Days 11-17: Construction time
Day 18: Group Stages begin; Opening ceremonies RP
Day 19: Group Stages
Day 20: Group Stages
Day 21: Last 16
Day 22: Quarter-Final
Day 23: Semi-Final
Day 24: Build up... and third place playoff
Day 25: Final!
Days 26-30 or 31: Wrap up

This schedule is based on a RL calender and can start on August 1 if you guys agree on it.

I see nothing wrong with the schedule nor the start date.

Alright guys, from now to August 5 IRL, bidding for the World Cup will occur on this forum. If your nation would like to bid, you should follow the guidelines of a bid like RL.

Just some things the Executive Committee will be looking for:
-Commitment by the whole country for the event
-A slogan and good reasons as to why we should hold the event in your nation
-No controversy surrounding the government's human rights offenses and using migrant workers as modern day slaves...Qatar

We will select the top 4-6 bids by the 5th for the preliminary rounds of voting, then the best 2 will be voted upon in one last vote for the host nation!

Good luck!

I don't know how the budget thing would work, since the in-game budget system is still broken I believe and that anyone could say any number. Plus what their currency and what another currency is and which one would be the actual bigger budget... Seems like an issue to me.

Agreed, the budgets are a problem, so we'll take them out of the requirements for a bid.

Keymon's treaty ratification will be complete in March 3704

Image

Commitment

• Communist Party of Keymon is sadly currently the single party of Keymon but everyone on the island recognizes the significance of hosting this event
• Football has the ability to break barriers, establish better understanding, and promote co-operation and peace
• All upgraded stadia will be built with materials which are as environmentally friendly as can be
• All stadia after the world cup will be retained for legacy purposes and will be the greatly needed new homes of domestic football and other sports teams
• Advertisements around the pitch instead of being corporate sponsors shall bear the names and telephone numbers of humanitarian charities enabling fans to donate

Slogan

• One island, One sport, One dream

Why Keymon?

• Keymon is in a good location positioned between two major continents as well as being close to Makon and Majatra
• Keymon is easily accessible by sea and by air
• Keymon has been overlooked throughout history because of its geographical size and we want to show the world we are equal to everyone else
• Keymon's small size makes travelling to stadiums easier for fans and players (no jet lag!) and also cheaper and causing less pollution
• Keymon requires a large scale infrastructure program in order to boost economic growth and building numerous stadiums would fit the bill
• Keymon currently has an extremely large budget surplus of which we are keen to spend on infrastructure, law enforcement, and jobs ($44,185,061,460 KED)
• Keymon is looking to rebuild itself following the vicious rule of the Imperial National Party and hosting the World Cup would be the start of a new chapter
• Keymon is a diverse and multicultural country home to football supporters of all countries - a home away from home

Controversies? What controversies?

• Communist Party of Keymon is now acting to improve civil rights in the country
• Communist Party of Keymon has pledged to provide a living wage, a home, and employment to all citizens
• Communist Party of Keymon's foreign policy is committed to peace and diplomacy and is in the process of abolishing Keymon's weapons of mass destruction
• Communist Party of Keymon is committed to education, health, and improving living standards

Stadiums

• All workers shall be guaranteed workers' rights and a living wage
• $40 billion (KED) potential infrastructure budget

• Bryce Leigh Stadium, Leighstown - 60,000 seats (could be expanded to 85,000 seats)
• Keymon Sports City Stadium, Leighstown - 50,000 (could be expanded to 70,000 seats)

One more thing to prospective bidders: we request that your nation please pass a bill about bidding for the Cup among your congress/parliament/whatever you call it to confirm that every party is in favor of a bid. Hosting is a big job and we want to make sure the whole nation gets behind the bid, so this is our way to confirm that as voters.

That's it and thanks again for considering a bid!
