Grand Miko Calls for Gao-Showan Unity in Shock Speech

After years of reconstruction and reforms, the Grand Miko has outlined her new agenda of seeking Pan-Mikokuzin unity - potentially redefining Sekowo's relationship with it's Indralan occupier forever.

July 3735, Heimei-kyō - The Grand Miko has startled world opinion by raising the prospect of a "Mikokuzin Union", a proposed federal Gao-Showan super national entity. As Sekowo has forever renounced war and deposed the Ishida dynasty as a result of the last war, the Grand Miko's speech is a sigh of a new purpose and identity for post-war Sekowo, no longer a isolationist and militaristic power but a proactive member of a wider Gao-Showan world. It's no coincidence this speech was made while an amendment to the constitution of Sekowo denouncing war as a sovereign right is being voted on.

Citing the threat the resurgent Luthori Empire poses to the decolonisation process Gao-Showan nationalists have struggled so long to complete, the Grand Miko has called for the "big three" Gao-Showan states of Dankuk, Indrala and Sekowo to "pull together" and "offer the lead" to the wider Gao-Showan world. Such a union would probably be the largest political entity on Terra - with a economy, military and population dwarfing nearly every other individual state. It would clearly be capable of dominating and policing Dovani with ease - and even hope to extend it's influence Westward. While Pan-Mikokuzinism has been a staple cause of the Cheng-Socialist Nationalist Left in the past - this Union would be built on shared values of cultural and social conservatism.

Responses from Indrala and Dankuk are still forthcoming - but it's unlikely that as the leader of a occupied nation the Grand Miko would have made this speech without knowing in advance Indrala would approve, and if Indrala approves so will most of it's clients. Dankuk's response is harder to predict.
