Proclamation Accepted
Under pressure from the Barmenian government, the new Zardic cabinet accepted the terms of the proclamation soon after hearing them. Soon after the terms acceptance Vanukean citizens were seen being frogmarched out of the Imperial occupied territories by shadowy figures and, accused of being "Syndicalist traitors", were sent into Assembly-held territories.

Government Deploys Troops to Quell Skaraj Protests, Troops Advancement Blocked By Civilians
Troops sent to quell the Skaraj protests were turned away by civilian protesters. Despite this the protests began to center in the town square, which had recently been renamed Alexandria Square. Local police refused to assist the troops and many were seen assisting the protestors. During the push against the troops protesters from a regional communist party were cheered on by the crowd as they called for "Communism without the Assembly and Nationalism without the State!".

Secretary of State and Regent Found Dead in Apparent Assassination, National Directorship Proclaimed
Only hours after agreeing with a proposal to decrease the power of the Internal Bureau of Investigation both the Regent and the Secretary of State were found dead with notes attached to their corpses. The cabinet refused to release the contents of the notes but soon after appointed the IBI Director as both Regent and Secretary of State. The Director promised to accept the Barmenian demands and to "Empower the government to ensure that public disorder will be ended".

Protesters March Upon Government
Protesters led by Major-General Miĥaelo Rubena marched upon the government headquarters and presented a list of demands echoing Rubena's own calls for "a return to normality" and the protestors demand. After being refused entry to government buildings he held a rally calling for a program he described as "Distribute Our Riches", which included measures such as greater independence to trade unions, a unity government composed of all major political parties and for close co-operation between the government and corporations to control production and trade.

Protests in Major Cities Suppressed
Protests resembling the protests in Skaraj were brutally suppressed by the Zardic military. Many protesters were rounded up and killed in the streets. Soon after, however, military officials were seen discussing something with surviving protesters.

Skaraj- It has been made known that a recent crackdown has taken place in the city of Skaraj in a push to end the protests which have wracked the city. The commanding officer, Lt. Jeztri bit Hnanja ordered a 'proactive program' to 'control the chaos which has played out here'. The death toll which took place thereafter cannot be left unsaid: two hundred members of the collective forces of the Militia were killed in the crossfire, while it is estimated that a total of eight hundred and sixty nine were left dead on the side of the protesters. Following the arrests and the imprisonment of numerous police officers, General Rubena was reportedly detained on charges of treason.

King Chrisopher summons new Regent for meeting.

A Special Election Bulletin From Belgae Media Associations Ltd.

Assembly Elections Yield Democratic Party Gains
Elections in the dwindling National Assembly held territories have yielded gains for the Democratic Party. Though the "Presidential elections" were lost the Director blamed what he called "republican terror and intimidation" and warned that no deals would be cut with the Assembly that abolished the monarchy. Elections in Imperial-held territories also yielded gains and all in all only Ingomo voted against the legitimate government.

Peace In Our Time?
The Director has published his peace deal. The provisions of peace, he said, were the following:
    Disestablishment of the "National Assembly"
    Reinstitution of the monarchy
End of Liberal Democracy and the beginning of a managed democracy
    A new constitution
All parties to reorganize along autocratic, royalist lines.

Director to Visit Barmenia
The Director has confirmed that he will take part in a conference in Barmenia and meet with the new royals. God save the Director, God save the Directorship and God save the Empire!

Following swift victory at Rejketo, Barmenian Army seizes Zardopolo despite losses.

Zardopolo-Despite the loss of 30,000 over the course of two battles, the Barmenian Army has managed to complete its conquest of the Unkaso region. The Army shall soon march on Gatineo and at it's current pace is expected to surround the city of Belgae within ninety days.

King Christopher orders 'liberal monarchy'; pardons of local partisans in return for reconciliation.

Eksandr- In a sign that the new Emperor is aware of the situation he will face following the war, King has given his new Regent the details of the plan for new constitution which would allow for a system of three branches of 'equal and respected powers'. The document, modeled after the now aged Barmenian prototype which still governs that Kingdom today, would allow for the Assembly to remain in place, establish a nominally independent judiciary, and provide certain powers to each of the branches. It is expected, however, that the power to 'establish a new dynasty.....choose a successor....or abolish the monarchy' shall be put in the hands of the people via pelbicite, however, given the current mood.

The King also offered pardons to local voters of the Democratic party and rank and file members of the Assembly who were willing to disavow the likes of Reubena and the main Democratic leaders and 'work for peace in the days to come'. However, the King also signed several indictments for treason regarding Reubena, the newly elected 'President' of the areas in Assembly held territory, almost all of the members of the rebel President's cabinet (with the exception of the Ministers for Health and Environment) and the leaders of the National Assembly itself and sent them with the Director for the purpose of passing on to the Congress in Zardugal for affirmation.

Newspaper Headlines Across Zardugal
Government Vetoes Sections of Barmy Barmenian Proposal (The National Patriot)
The legitimate government today announced that sections of the Barmenian proposals would be ignored and officially would not make it into law. The sections in question supported the crude commie congress in Belgae and gave the power to decide the fate of Zardugal to the very traitors who betrayed Zardugal. This paper supports the government and finds the Barmenian betrayal to be an indication of how Zardugal is the only truly free nation remaining.

Blow To Democracy: Imperials Refuse to Yield To Democracy (The Belgae Independent Journal)
Troublesome news about the future of Zardugal came today as the Democratic Party, known as the Imperials due to their control of the Southern monarchist state, announced that they would not let Zardugal democratize further. It is well known that the Imperials hate democracy but this episode shows that they will even refuse the demands of their Barmenian masters if it means giving power to the people...

Emperor states Belgae will get 'nothing but ashes' in post war deal; disputes claims by national patriot.

Skaraj- In a rare visit by the new Emperor to the capital of the Imperial state, he said that in a post war world "Belgae would get nothing more than ashes; it is likely they will cease to be the seat of government."

However, the Emperor noted that "We must draw a line between traitors and loyalists. If there are those who are willing to work with us, who are willing to work in a democracy that respects the will of monarchy and rejects the will of anarchy, then we must not be foolish and turn them away. If there are those in the hellish, rebel Assembly who would give us information, who would turn the other cheek and show that their loyalty lies with us in this new world.....then I would give them the chance to do so. Nonetheless, they must be wary not to see the olive branch of reconciliation as one of foolish idealism. The world has seen what will happen to men like Mr. Reubena. If one were to, let us say, take the offer and then turn traitor once more they would be killed."

In terms of the plans which had been rejected, the Emperor seemed to get a determined glint in his eye before he said "The Assembly which shall remain shall be here, not in that wretched city of traitors. If I did not make that clear to my honorable friend and temporary regent, nor to the members of the National Congress of whom I referred, I do apologize for that miscommunication. The Assembly in my nation has renamed itself at least once, yet we have always known that in spirit, it is still the Assembly. It being the assembly in the sense that it is the national legislative body. "

The Emperor also gave a warning to the editor of the Patriot to "lay off their rhetoric"

"My government is the legitimate government of Zardugal." said the Emperor "If the editors of a newspaper wish to bring doubt to that, I would be glad to order them onto an air drop over rebel held territory so that they can join the other traitors."

Paralia Cezareo captured following Battle of Gatineo.

Paralia Cezareo- The death toll for the Barmenian army reached a new height following two key victories which many believe have signaled the last nail in the coffin of the rebel government. After a loss of 50,000 (30,000 having been lost at Gatineo alone), the Imperial forces have marched through the city on their way to secure the last rebel holdout of
Sebasto. It is estimated that the war shall be over within three weeks.

Reubena receives death sentence following trial for treason.

Skaraj- The General widely hated and praised for his part in starting an early rebellion against the Emperor met what will likely be his end today. Following a district court decision, he has been ordered to await his execution for the charge of treason against the state.

Coup D'etat!
Skaraj and the Imperial state was thrown into chaos as military officials and Democratic Party figures conspired to overthrow the authoritarian government of Paŭlo Dezirinda, known as "The Director" to his supporters. The Coup started early morning as the National Congress passed a motion to impeach the entire Cabinet. As IBI agents moved into the Congress to arrest deputies a group of senior military officers and troops moved into the building and defended the Congress from being shut down. The army mobilized against the authoritarian infrastructure and bureaucracy and by 5PM Speaker of the Senate Miĥaelo Vilĉjo had been sworn in as an interim Secretary of State and former Vice-President Aleksandro Ĉiela was sworn in as interim Deputy Secretary of State. The leader of the coup, Colonel Nikolao Aleksandro, was sworn in as Minister of Defence.

Sebasto seized; Army surrounds Belgae.

Sebasto- In the aftermath of the Fall of Sebasto, the General in charge has ordered that all refugees be allowed to return to the makeshift camps which have been set up around the area. They have been told to remain there until "such time as the Emperor may deem otherwise".

Emperor summons Congress for special session; seeks 'liberal monarchy' and 'reformative constitution'.

Hesperio- In a shocking turn of events, word has come from aides close to the Emperor making known that the Barmenian King gave 'utter and complete assent and directive' to the officials responsible for the coup. In the missive, the Emperor reportively stated that in recent weeks, Mr. Dezirinda had "lost sight of whom our true enemies were" and "what our greater cause was".

The Emperor also sent a letter to the Congress, summoning them for a special session to work on the new constitution. In a second letter, the Emperor reportedly affirmed the positions of Secretary of State and his deputy. In addition, he named Mr. Vilĉjo to the Regency until such time as he could return to the Zardic capital.

Reubena hung at dawn; world waits for Emperors next move.

Skaraj- The once beloved General met his end today at the gallows before a crowd of onlookers. Following his death, his estate and retirement fund were reportedly given to his family. The matter of Reubena is of little consequence, however; many now wonder if, in an environment where seemingly anyone can be destroyed, who could be the next to fall.

Militia forces take control of Skaraj.

Skaraj- Militia forces have reportedly marched on the Capital city, in a clear attempt to counter the protesters present in the city. So far, the cooperation has been mutual and no one has been harmed.

Imperial State Collapses, Deputies Return To Belgae
After the coup the new government announced its intentions to return to Belgae and take up the positions they had abandoned years prior in the legislature. To avoid capture by Barmenian forces the deputies were flown under the cover of night into an airport on the outskirts of the city. It is expected that many are to be arrested for treason. Barmenia and the Assembly have been left to fight over the territory where central authority has all but collapsed.
