Emperor states Belgae will get 'nothing but ashes' in post war deal; disputes claims by national patriot.
Skaraj- In a rare visit by the new Emperor to the capital of the Imperial state, he said that in a post war world "Belgae would get nothing more than ashes; it is likely they will cease to be the seat of government."
However, the Emperor noted that "We must draw a line between traitors and loyalists. If there are those who are willing to work with us, who are willing to work in a democracy that respects the will of monarchy and rejects the will of anarchy, then we must not be foolish and turn them away. If there are those in the hellish, rebel Assembly who would give us information, who would turn the other cheek and show that their loyalty lies with us in this new world.....then I would give them the chance to do so. Nonetheless, they must be wary not to see the olive branch of reconciliation as one of foolish idealism. The world has seen what will happen to men like Mr. Reubena. If one were to, let us say, take the offer and then turn traitor once more they would be killed."
In terms of the plans which had been rejected, the Emperor seemed to get a determined glint in his eye before he said "The Assembly which shall remain shall be here, not in that wretched city of traitors. If I did not make that clear to my honorable friend and temporary regent, nor to the members of the National Congress of whom I referred, I do apologize for that miscommunication. The Assembly in my nation has renamed itself at least once, yet we have always known that in spirit, it is still the Assembly. It being the assembly in the sense that it is the national legislative body. "
The Emperor also gave a warning to the editor of the Patriot to "lay off their rhetoric"
"My government is the legitimate government of Zardugal." said the Emperor "If the editors of a newspaper wish to bring doubt to that, I would be glad to order them onto an air drop over rebel held territory so that they can join the other traitors."
Paralia Cezareo captured following Battle of Gatineo.
Paralia Cezareo- The death toll for the Barmenian army reached a new height following two key victories which many believe have signaled the last nail in the coffin of the rebel government. After a loss of 50,000 (30,000 having been lost at Gatineo alone), the Imperial forces have marched through the city on their way to secure the last rebel holdout of
Sebasto. It is estimated that the war shall be over within three weeks.
Reubena receives death sentence following trial for treason.
Skaraj- The General widely hated and praised for his part in starting an early rebellion against the Emperor met what will likely be his end today. Following a district court decision, he has been ordered to await his execution for the charge of treason against the state.
