October, 4057
West

Heavily entrenched Dundorfian forces held on for as long as they could against the attacking Dorvish and in fact dealt more severe damage then they received but under the threat of an encirclement and with dwindling supply, a retreat was ordered to winter fortifications in the southeast from where they could prevent any flanking maneuvers against the planned Zerlin offensive.

Early November to Late December, 4057
Oderveld

In response to defeats in the west the Dundorf Defense Commission has launched a massive offensive of the 4. Dundorfian Armeekorps against Zerlin and the surrounding area despite the cold winter. The attack started early in the morning with the launch of a massive Artillery/Missile/Kamikaze bombardment of key infrastructure in Zerlin reducing much of the city to rubble. Partisans have been noted as having destroyed key bridges and road injuring the already shaky Dorvish supply lines. Shortly after Dundorfian Soldiers advanced from the south capturing key positions before entrenching and setting up artillery. Field Marshall Ehlers stated "until those reserves arrive they are stretched too thin". Within day the Suess International Airport was deemed inoperable due to repeated bombardments . In the beginning of December, Zerlin was encircled and troops advanced further into the rubble that once was Zerlin. The remaining Dorvish bravely fought till the death, but the city was captured. While the Dorvish were better trained and equipped, sheer numbers and a non stop bombardment were enough for Dundorf to get the upper hand. The Dorvish were at a significant disadvantage due to several snow storm and damaged infrastructure preventing communication and transport between Dorvish forces stopping the arrival of much needed reinforcments.

Late March, 4057 - Early June, 4057

Dorvish forces had succeeded in capturing the mountainous region of Dunlake (known to the current Dundorfian government as Gayern) to the north with nearly 10 divisions (totally 200,000 men). These 200,000 men were equipped with motorized vehicles and much lighter equipment then standard Panzergrenadier forces who were entirely mechanized. The Volksgrenadiers, while conscripts, were zealous and traditionally filled with youthful enthusiasm that sometimes professional soldiers lack...but the Dorvish forces were always motivated due to their love for Sacred Dorvik and their desire to win the Final Victory, an ideology and philosophy promoted by the Dorvish forces themselves. The offensive known as Operation Winter Awakening had succeeded, the Dorvish captured the northern portion of Dunlake and had pushed further south and captured nearly the rest of Oderveld.

Dorvish forces in Zerlin came underneath heavy missile fire as the Zerlin Offensive was undertaken by Dundorfian forces, while the Dundorfian forces had inflicted casualties on the Dorvish forces in Zerlin, they had missed their opportunity to strike a blow to the heart of the Dorvish forces. The Dorvish forces had pushed further east and begun building air bases that could ferry supplies in and out of eastern Oderveld with relative ease due to internal security operations conducted by the Dorvish Military Police.

During the Zerlin Offensive by the Dundorfian forces the Dorvish allies in the Dundorfian Reich were almost entirely dislodged but the Dorvish forces alongside several newly raised divisions of the recreated Wehrmacht pushed back into Zerlin and permanently forced the line forward from Zerlin, Zerlin was returned to the ownership of the Dundorfian Reich and territory conquered by the Dorvish forces was quickly turned over to the Dundorfian Reich for management and restoration of services. This granted the Dorvish forces the ability to press forward without worrying about operations behind the lines as the new Heer (army) of the Wehrmacht took responsibility for rear guard operations of the Dorvish Armed Forces.

Late June, 4057 - Early October, 4057

Late June brought on a period of stability in the territories now occupied by the Dundorfian Reich, they had worked closely with the local government in restoring most basic services and had pushed most known Socialist and Communist into "re-education camps" that were meant to show them the error of their ways. These groups were managed by the Dundorfian Reich and kept several humanitarian rights groups involved as means to protect themselves from International pressure. The Dundorfian Reich also stepped up their efforts hunting for evidence of genocide, several dozen mass graves were found alongside assistance from Dorvish intelligence. These photographs and published publicly to show the International community that the current government in Dundorf, despite what people had thought, including Dorvik's own President, is involved in genocide and murder of its own people.

Dorvish forces spent the summer months fending off smaller attacks by the Dundorfian forces and making small gains here and there, a vast majority of Dorvish forces were now being brought into Dundorf and by August nearly 2/3 of all Dorvish forces were stationed through Dundorf and outnumbered the Dundorfian force greatly, with the air support provided by the Hutorian government and the rumor that the Indralans will be dispatching troops to assist the Dorvish further boosted their morale. Dorvish had setup artillery and had begun shelling Dundorfian positions and setting up counter-battery fire. Dorvish special forces had begun operating behind enemy lines, they were tasked with military sabotage and destruction of military targets and officers. Despite the limited success of the Dundorfian forces against a much greater enemy, the Dundorfian forces were failing; equipment was in limited supply, oil supplies were running thin as allies around them begun to be cut off due to the fact that Dundorf was landlocked and overall, the Dundorfian fighting spirit was slowly being withered away.

Early October, 4057 - Early March, 4058
The harsh Dundorfian winter slowed any action on either side and both sides took the time to re-coop some of their loses and the Dorvish government continued to build the institutions of the Dundorfian Reich as an ally and the re-education camps were a moderate success with thousands recanting their belief in Socialism and Communism. The concept was designed by the conservative General Staff of the Dundorfian Reich's Wehrmacht as a means to possibly gain potential recruits, they were able to recruit thousands of former Socialist and Communist into their ranks. They cooperated with the Dorvish State Security Service and the State Criminal Police to investigate and vet these candidates to ensure that they were not double-agents, it was inevitable that some of them were faking but the northern regions of Dundorf were much harsher and tended to be more conservative then the southern portion of the county.

In February the Dorvish forces began preparation for an invasion of Kronstein which would begin in April 4058 and would be one of the largest offensives conducted by the Dorvish forces since the start of the war 2 years prior.

Late March, 4057 - Early June, 4057

Dorvik Successfully defeated the Dundorfian forces to the North, but at heavy cost to themselves, this represents the largest defeat of the war with nigh 60,000 Dundorfians killed and estimates putting Dorvish losses somewhere near to that.

Early October, 4057 - Early March, 4058

Dundorfian forces continues to entrench in strategically defend able regions throughout the south and east determined to make any offensive a suicide option for the Dorvish all of the 400,000 remaining men prepared to die for their country.

March 4057 - June 4057

When Dorvische High Command had told Major General Bennet that they were planning on capturing Dunlake rather then push and capture the rest of Oderveld the Hutorian Air Force Commander had been only slightly irritated. The Officer known affectionately as Pitbull had wanted to settle things with the DDR's Volksluftarmee first. However the Dorvische were the ones with troops on the ground, and they were there to support them.

The mountainous northern Dundorfian territory meant Air power was necessary and King here; without sufficient Air support it might have taken the Volksgrenadiers Months to sweep the Lender... thanks to constant Hutorian Air Pressure and support it took 10 weeks. By following the same successful tactics they had performed with such zeal and effect down south Dorvische Forces were able to make advances they might not have been able to make without more armor or Artillery. The 1st Fighter Wing had pushed into Dunlake ahead of the advance and swept what little Dundorfian Air Resistance was available; as almost all Squadrons were being held in the east for use of the Defence of thr DDR'S heartland seizing Air supremacy hadn't taken long. Once the HF-35A had taken control of the skies, 1st Carrier Air Wing and the Fighter Bombers of 1st Fighter Wing began offering close Air and electronic Warfare support; utilizing Twister ECRs to scramble ground based installations and Air defences, while Fighter Bombers and a steady stream of cruise missiles from 6th Bomber Wings wiped out defensive installations, strong points and troop concentrations that attempted to counter attack. By the time the first week of June rolled in Dunlake was widely under Dorvische control, other the DDR Forces locked away on the HS Line, which were kept under constant aerial bombardment by 1st Carrier Air Wing, in a bid to force their surrender... if they tried to break out through Dorvische controlled Dunlake they would get straffed into oblivion, if they remained there they'd completely wither on the Vine... and if they pushed into Aloria the Alorian governments support for the DDR might evaporate. The securing of Dunlake's interior also gave the Hutorians something far more important; Air Bases in Dundorf itself, giving the Hutorian Air Force even greater operational flexibility, able to stay in the air for longer and with further reach.

When the Volksarmee began their Zerlin Offensive Operation Hutori hadn't been asleep at the switch. They had know this was coming for a while and had been preparing to assist their allies. The dreaded 5th Fighter Wing had pushed in to assist Dorvik and claim the air space above the former Dundorfian capital. Even as the first missile strikes were raining down on the city Hutorian Blizzards, Hurricanes, Cyclones and Twisters were fighting over Zerlin, denying the Dundorfian Air Force the ability to directly supported their own advance while the Hutorian 6th Bomber Wing responded with their own hail of cruise missiles, aimed at 4th Armeekorps advance formations while the HF-20 and 19 Fighter Bombers used laser designators from Dorvische and allied Dundorfian Reich Forces on the ground to target DDR Artillery emppacements. The sheer weight of the DDR Offensive assured it's success; the support of the Hutorian Air Force and the Armored of Dorvik's Landwehr assured their counterparts offensive.

By the time June was finally done and the new battle lines were drawn the Hutorian Air Forces Air supremacy over western Dundorf was entirely unchallenged and the ground was set for Major General Bennet's next great aerial offensive.

June 4057 - February 4058

The bulk of the next eight months were spent by the Hutorian Air Forces continuing their creeping
Barrage approach to the conflict; with air Bases secure throughout all of western Dundorf the the 4 Air Wings that were operating in Dundorf were able to stay in the air effectively indefinitely, while their patrols began pushing into the east, again target Air Detection, Command and Control Stations, Air Strip and AA emplacements; anything that would give the Hutorians a distinct advantage from the great Dorvische offensive finally began. The stealthy Hurricanes and Cyclones kept a constant presence in the air, daring the DDR's remaining Air Forces to come up and challenge then. The Hutorians were careful to avoid urban centres where the bulk of their impressive remaining AA defences were built around... but outside of the built up urban centres and so called Fortress Cities, the Hutorians effectively ruled the skies unchallenged. When Hutori's Artanian Command at Forward Operating Base Echo Romeo were informed the Dorvische would be launching their largest offensive to date in April Major General Bennet and his staff nodded almost grim acceptance; this next phase would be messy , bloody and possibly expensive... but they had come this fat and they couldn't back down now. It was time to finally finish what they had come here to do.
