Jelbania Campaigns for World Congress Security Council
Son of Foreign Mnistr Kicks Off "Jelbania for Seat B" Campaign

Isa Husnsrmko Grakkrt, son of Foreign Mnistr Husn Camlsrmko Grakkrt, gives a press conference in Ám'ádjezstad supporting Jelbania's bid for the Security Council.

Suadjahrltajezstad, Baniray, July 4103- Isa Husnsmrko Grakkrt, the son of Mnistr for Foreign Affairs Husn Camlsrmko Grakkrt, addressed the Hrltaj yesterday announcing that he would begin actively campaigning for Seat B on the World Congress Security Council on Jelbania's behalf. Hldjezim'm Juhn Juhnsrmko Grakkrt has announced that should Jelbania be elected to the seat, Husnsrmko Grakkrt would be his representative to the Security Council.

"Our primary concern is maintaining peace, primarily for the continent of Majatra," Husnsrmko Grakkrt said. "Majatran peace is peace for the Ahmadi people. Jelbania already has the backing of several Majatran nations, and they display great confidence in our ability to achieve this. But there is plenty of work to do if we are to win the seat."

Foreign Mnistr Camlsrmko Grakkrt has already begun Jelbania's campaign for the seat, introducing the Treaty of Ahmadi Solidarity in the World Congress to other Ahmadi nations, and contacting several other nations in support of Jelbania's bid. In the future, Husnsrmko Grakkrt will take on a bigger role in the campaign, campaigning not only in support of Jelbania's bid, but also for the bid of fellow Ahmadi nation Talmoria for Seat D.

After the address to the Hrltaj, Husnsmrko Grakkrt gave a press conference in nearby Ám'ádjezstad in which he responded to Beiteynu's recent negative campaign against Jelbania. "The Conservative Yeudish Party of Beiteynu is in no position to accuse our government of religious radicalism," Husnsrmko Grakkrt stated. 'They have a consistent record of severely oppressing non-Yeudish citizens, segregating them, and shutting themselves off to the rest of the world. Our campaign is not based on religious fundamentalism, but on peace and security for Majatra and the world at large."

Husnsrmko Grakkrt Responds to Beiteynuese and Hutorian Attacks

Image
Isa Husnsrmko Grakkrt, Chairman of Jelbania for Seat B, defends Jelbania in a press conference.

Wrntuegrzojogad, Turadrad, October 4103- In a press conference in Wrntuegrzojogad yesterday, Isa Husnsrmko Grakkrt, the Chairman of the Jelbania for Seat B campaign, defended Jelbania against attacks from Beiteynu and Hutori.

Beiteynu asks why we introduced an Ahmadi alliance. Why do any nations form alliances? Alliances are groups of like-minded nations that join together to cooperate for their mutual benefit. The fact that we are in such a cooperative alliance speaks volumes about Jelbania's ability to work with foreign nations, an attitude that we will carry with us into the Security Council.

Beiteynu also asks why we haven't protested against their oppressive laws and helped their oppressed non-Yeudish citizens. In other words, they ask why we don't violate the very first point of their own platform. Jelbania is not a powerful nation. We are not the world's police. But we do oppose Beiteynu's oppressive laws, and our election to the Security Council will give us a better voice to do something about it.

Beiteynu also asks whether it is still racist. Well, their response is somewhat accurate. Their government is acting to abolish discriminatory laws. But this is only because the opposition Labor Party won their most recent election, toppling the hyper-Biranist government that has existed for decades under the very party that is sponsoring Beiteynu's bid for the Council. People like Abraham Rosenstolz are very much in line with the Conservative Yeudish Party's oppressive agenda, and are now backpedaling like mad in a vain attempt at damage control that fools no one.

And now, Hutori's President has seen fit to stick their nose into an election for a seat they are not even contending for solely to attack Jelbania as well. Well, here is our response. Yes, we have jailed Hosians, because their protests turned violent. It is one thing to peacefully protest, and another to riot in the streets of one of our major cities. Surely it is not tyrannical to imprison those who instigate violence? As far as human rights go, we are beginning a two-stage process to end the barbaric practice of slavery within Jelbania, an institution which has plagued Jelbania long before the rise of the Ahmadi Republic. I also find it odd how President Plantinga didn't have these objections when he was courting the votes of members of the Organization of Ahmadi Cooperation. I think his comments are merely sour grapes over the fact that the OAC is backing Talmoria instead."

The heated tone of the campaigns for the Security Council has raised the ire of other members of the international community, most notably Kalistan, where Labour Party Ambassador for the Kalistan for C Campaign Oscar Machado called for a end to the acerbic rhetoric coming from certain campaigns. While Machado's comments were made in reference to Baltusia's negative campaign for Seat C, Husnsrmko Grakkrt echoed the sentiment during the press conference.

"These unprovoked attacks on Jelbania by Beiteynu, Baltusia, and Hutori only go to show what kind of tone they would bring to the Security Council. I pledge here and now that Jelbania for Seat B will not engage in this kind of negative smear campaigning except in direct response to another nation's attack against us. We are running for this seat to build bridges to other nations, to improve cooperation between nations, and to promote peace for Majatra and peace for all of Terra, and the kind of rhetoric that has been spewed by some of the other campaigns is best left to the school playground."

Husnsrmko Grakkrt Pushes Back Against More Negative Campaigning

Image

"It should come as no surprise to anyone that we are once again on the receiving end of a smear campaign by the radical Yeudish nation of Beiteynu, a fringe candidate which, to my knowledge, has secured the support of only the hypocritical anti-Ahmadi nation of Baltusia. Jelbania enjoys the support of not only the Ahmadi world, but other Majatran nations such as Cildania, Cobura, and Barmenia, and even nations beyond the realm of the Majatran continent such as Malivia and Kalistan. Beiteynu can talk up their platform all they want, but the confidence of a broad base of nations outside the Ahmadi sphere of influence looks like a pretty beefy sandwich to me.

But let us address Beiteynu's groundless attack nonetheless. What is Jelbania's platform? It's what I've been saying all along. Cooperation with foreign nations to achieve regional and ultimately world peace. A greater platform from which to oppose the oppressive practices of governments such as that led by the Conservative Yeudish Party. Protection of weaker nations from undue exploitation by the world powers. But if Mr. Rosenstolz wants to see more beef, I suggest he visit a butcher.

And now Zardugal, the big bad bully of Majatra, wants a piece of the action too. Apparently, they have not yet received the memo that we are in the process of repealing the barbaric and repugnant institution of slavery, which has existed in Jelbania since the days of the H'ans. Or perhaps honesty and transparency aren't traits possessed by Dr. Ĥoniato."

Husnsrmko Grakkrt Responds to Kazulian Statsminister, Announces Seleyan Tour

Image
Jelbania for Seat B Chairman Isa Husnsrmko Grakkrt during the press conference announcing the campaign's upcoming tour of Seleya.

Suadjahrltajezstad, Baniray, November 4104- Isa Husnsrmko Grakkrt gave a press conference yesterday in Suadjahrltajezstad in which he responded to comments made by Kazulian Statsminister Finn Nordhagen regarding the tone of the various campaigns for the World Congress Security Council. Nordhagen mentioned that certain campaigns were seeking "power and bragging rights" instead of "maintain[ing] international peace and security." Husnsrmko Grakkrt's response follows:

"Quite frankly, he's right. The tone of campaigns such as Beiteynu's, Hutori's, Zardugal's, and now Istalia's is sickening. I will point out once again that Jelbania has not made any attacks. We are merely defending our position from unprovoked and unwarranted attacks by nations jealous of our popularity. We are being attacked for our religious beliefs and for our checkered history, but the world knows better. We are ending slavery and repealing the most extreme laws of our previous government. We are a nation that is reforming itself to be a leader in the international community, not a pariah. To say otherwise is blatantly unfair and shows an obvious ignorance of international affairs."

Husnsrmko Grakkrt followed up these comments by announcing that he would be touring Seleya in the upcoming months, starting with the Canrillaise nations of Aldurie, Kanjor, and Rildanor, followed by Mordusia, Gaduridos, Valruzia, and Kalistan. Asked why he would make such an extensive tour of Seleya, he responded:

"I think Seleya is the key to this election. There are a lot of undecided nations there who have thus far removed themselves from the conflict and drama surrounding the various campaigns for the Security Council. I think a personal visit to these nations would go a long way."

Husnsrmko Grakkrt: Kalistan's Vote Switch a "Betrayal."

Image
Isa Husnsrmko Grakkrt, Chairman of Jelbania for Seat B, speaks about Kalistan's vote switch.

Suadjahrltajezstad, Baniray, April 4109- Isa Husnsrmko Grakkrt, Chairman of Jelbania for Seat B, gave a press conference in response to Kalistan's decision to switch its Security Council Vote to Istalia. Prior to the switch, Kalistan was one of the first nations outside of the Ahmadi bloc to support Jelbania's bid. In return, the Organization of Ahmadi Cooperation had endorsed Kalistan's bid for the Seleyan seat (Seat C) on the council.

"It's a betrayal, pure and simple," Husnsrmko Grakkrt said. "The OAC's early support for Kalistan gave them a commanding lead early in the voting, discouraging potential competitors from running their own campaigns and all but guaranteeing them the seat. Now, at the eleventh hour and with Seat B still very much at stake, the Socialist government of Kalistan, under the guise of supporting democracy when they themselves outmaneuvered all competition and turned their own country into a one-party state, switches their vote to Istalia instead. As you all know, the Istalian campaign was built on deceit, fear-mongering, and anti-Ahmadi prejudice. It is clear now that Kalistan is prepared to endorse such tactics to increase their own standing in the international community. Their behavior is disgraceful, to say the least."

Asked if the OAC was contemplating some sort of punitive action against Kalistan, Husnsrmko Grakkrt declined to comment, citing the fact that he does not sit in on OAC meetings. Husnsrmko Grakkrt's father, Foreign Mnistr Husn Camlsrmko Grakkrt, has already introduced a bill to the Hrltaj which would switch Jelbania's vote for Seat C from Kalistan to Valruzia. Although Kalistan has an overwhelming lead that will very likely hold until the end of the voting period, the elder Grakkrt said in a separate press conference, "Kalistan claims to be standing on their principles, so we are standing on ours. Our government doesn't support traitors."
