Fall of Lanbsburg
Counter-Revolutionaries Seize Capital
Battle of Labsburg
March 4155 - A major Counter-Revolutionary offensive initiated in June 4154 has managed to take over large swaths of land from the Constitutionalist government and turn the tables in the ongoing civil war, known by both sides as the War for the Emperor's Protection. Having mustered his forces for years, Prince Yasusada-no-Mikoto initiated a massive assault against territory held by the Constitutionalist government and its allied militias, striking from its new stronghold in the northwest. As the Constitutionalist regime had been primarily focusing on countering a potential Kazulian threat, forces loyal to President Hofuman have been redeployed from Mitorania and from around Labsburg towards the Hulstro-Mikun-Kazulian border. This proved to be a mistake, as the Counter-Revolutionary Army was a far more immediate and thus dangerous threat. In June last year, as the capital was defended only by Mamuryūken forces, the Counter-Revolutionaries were able to overwhelm defending forces and take over most of Harusutoria. Then, helped by the defection of high-ranking commanders in the Constitutionalists' armed forces, the Counter-Revolutionary Army moved south towards Mitorania. The defense of the region had been delegated primarily to the Deseret Legion, the Sacrificial Sisterhood of Saint Sharika, and the Army of the King in Yellow, militias affiliated with the religions granted sanctuary in Mikuni-Hulstria in 4148 on condition that they defend the regime. The religious militias were however no match for Prince Yasuda's well trained and well armed forces, and thus the entire region was occupied by March 4155.
Thus the Counter-Revolutionary Army, having liberated Labsburg, have gained the upper hand in the civil war, while the Constitutionalists and the Imperial Court have relocated to the old Gao-Soton capital of Miyako, paralleling the situation before the Constitutionalist assault on Hirugā in April 4152. The regime does nonetheless have control of roughly half of the territory of the nation, and its armed forces and those of its allied militias are similar in size and strength to those of the Counter-Revolutionary Army. In the meantime the Terra First! Army still retains control of areas in Harusutoria, from which it continues to launch improvised missile strikes across the Kazulian border. With both sides in the civil war being roughly equal in terms of manpower and materiel, the War for the Emperor's Protection may drag on for years unless a diplomatic solution is found to end the conflict.
