The Kongeforsvar has launched the long anticipated and planned Operation Silent Eagle. Around the earlier hours of the morning, the Kongelig Luftvåpen, Kongelig Marinen and the Kongelig Landethær launched the acclaimed Operation Accurate. According to officials from the Ministry of Defence, the three branches launched a series of airstrikes and artillery barrages aimed against the Republican Liberation League's Northern Territory. Fighters of the Kongelig Luftvåpen roared across the skies of Suyu Llaqta, bombing munitions and training centres highlighted by reconnaissance conducted prior to the operation's commencement. RLL forces in Ecigues fired volleys of anti-aircraft fire into the night sky in response to the air raids, to little apparent effect. Electricity was cut almost immediately after a cruise missile from the corvette KNOS-Pål Ose struck the northern region's electrical station.
As to the Kongeforsvar had drilled several times in the past, the Kongelig Luftvåpen employed a mixed-approach strategy of bombing and strafing runs against planes parked on the ground, and bombing to disable runways with special tarmac-shredding penetration bombs. To Kazulian Defence High Command, the Operation was successful. Nonetheless, the Kongelig Luftvåpen was not short of its loses. Although the RLL lost some significant infrastructure and equipment, some fighters of the Kongelig Luftvåpen were shot down either due to being hit by surface to air missiles or losing in dog battles. It is estimated that around fifteen (15) of the initial one hundred and twenty (120) fighters were shot down.
Upon hearing news of the success of the operation, Chief of Defence Staff Sigve Aagard ordered the ground and airborne forces - who had been waiting in Northern Dovani (courtesy of the Northern Dovanic Government) throughout the entire ordeal - to move launch the simultaneous attack against the RLL (an airborne invasion and a marine invasion). The success of Operation Accurate is a testimony to the consistent training/drilling of the Kongeforsvar, the effectiveness of the Kongeforsvar and impact of technology superiority and support. Chief of Defence Staff Sigve Aagard commenced the infantry phase of Operation Silent Eagle through a communique among the commanders and officers which stated: Climb Mount Narodnyaya. According to officials from the Defence Ministry, the Kongeforsvar would be not engage in conventional warfare, but will instead be engage in counter-insurgency and guerrilla operations (warfare tactics which they have prepared for in the years prior to now).
