In first Grand Prix of the IWC, Herzmojad Brmestán look to win on home turf

Image
The Knsékbeid Hldjezi'rtsestifíestinyrfluz Brmestán (Barmenistan International Circuit) is the site of the Hldjezprx Brmestán (Barmenistan Grand Prix), the first Grand Prix of the Formula One International World Championship

Racing is an age old pastime in Barmenistan. For thousands of years horse racing has been central to Brmék culture. Men, astride powerful and nearly wild horses, have ridden at breakneck speed across the parched deserts of Barmenistan to show their skill, their bravery, and their willingness to risk it all for glory.

Now, as the first Grand Prix of the renewed Formula One International World Cup nears, the nation of Barmenistan and its local team, Herzmojad Brmestán (Force Barmenistan), seek a victory on their home turf to start the grueling competition. The horses have been traded for precisely tuned Jezshikjokai Jezhrjebrnfisrlji'rts Prnznrdék (JJP) Formula One cars, but the passion and frenzy for victory at all costs are the same.

The circuit, freshly completed and hosting its first Grand Prix, was financed entirely by the royal family of Barmenistan, and features fifteen turns, the 9th and 10th especially technically challenging. Turn 1 is known as "Shb Jens Turn" in honor of the late Crown Prince Jens of Barmenistan who died in a tragic automobile accident near Vanuku in 4281. Several things distinguish the Barmenistan Grand Prix from most races: it is a night race, undertaken under lights, and it features especially large run-off areas designed to prevent sand from blowing onto the track. This makes the track especially forgiving of error, one of the safest tracks in the world, and therefore one of the tracks most specially suited to the Brmék propensity for risk taking.

Image
The JJP racers fielded by Herzmojad Brmestán are Brmék orange

Driving for Herzmojad Brmestán are Shmíl Jrl, a distant relative of the Sultan, and Hdrin Naggara, an 18 year old firebrand from a desert village near the Beiteynuese border. Jrl is a local celebrity in Barmenistan, renowned for the fact that he has few racing credentials and is widely believed to have been given a car in the IWC solely on the strength of his relations. Naggara, known even among the speed-crazed Brmék as a maniacally fearless driver, has set the record in Barmenistan for most wrecks by a rookie in both local circuits in which he competed. Still, he holds several lap records at smaller tracks in Barmenistan, and is generally successful when he can keep his wheels on the track.
Just a bunch of shit.

Vulpe Masina Motorsports releases new livery for return in Formula 1
Image

Endraváros – Today, in the headquarters of Vulpe Masina, the Vulpe Masina Motorsports F1 team has released its new livery. Featuring the logo's of Medialane, Busoftware, Silver Systems, Ventodrill and Luarea, the teams hopes to fight for GP wins. "This is an effort to show the world our brand."

We talk with team manager Petar Funar. The 36 year old team manager from Portul Occidental is responsible for the building of the new car. We ask him some questions,

How good is the new car?
To be honest, we don’t know. We will see at the testingdays and more importand at the Barmenian GP how good we are compared to other teams. What we do know however, is that this is the best car we as Vulpe Masina have ever build. The data from the simulator indicates the car has a great grip and acceleration.

What is the best part of the car?
As we don’t know how good we are compared to others I can’t answer that question. One thing we are certain that performs well is the engine reliability. We have blown multiple engines in our factory but after hours and hours of testing the engines are unbreakable!

Can you tell us anything about the driverlineup?
We have not yet decided with who we will start the season with. We are in conversations with multiple drivers. However, I can tell you that we are looking for atleast one young driver from our youth program.

And what are your goals this season?
Our goals will naturally evolve through the season. But, at the very least, we want to fight for GP wins. As for the constructors championship, we expect to be in the top three.

Testing commences in Sarazah at the Barmenistan International Circuit
With only a small time of development left the teams prepare for a massive showdown.

Image
The standings after the first testing session, where the old rivalry between Doggett and Szôllôsy is already rekindling. Piscatore however has to find a bit more pace.

After several years of preparation the first testing session has started in Barmenistan. The newly constructed Knsékbeid Hldjezi'rtsestifíestinyrfluz Brmestán (Barmenistan International Circuit) is hosting this first testing session in decades. So far the pace difference between the ten teams seems to be around five seconds in total, but the FORIWC organization is hoping that the increased development time will allow some backmarker teams to pick up the pace. The two top teams so far seem to be JJP Petrovan and Vulpe Masina. The Luthorian Lawrence Doggett (JJP Petrovan) topped the time sheets with an impressive 1:29.967 but he was closely followed by the New Endralonian Benedek Szôllôsy (Vulpe Masina) who trailed him by two-tenths. The legendary Dundorfian racing driver Friedrich Bauer, who recently signed for the prestigious Scuderia Piscatore, ended up fourth behind Vanukean Jusuv Hzar (JJP Petrovan). The Piscatore team ran the most laps of any, with Bauer racking up 92 laps in total, but seem to be struggling to find that last bit of pace. Hutorian Michael Stutton (Vulpe Masina) rounded up the top five with Istalian Alberto Ricci (Piscatore) setting the sixth fastest lap. The two most surprising results of the session were that of the Rildanorian Jacques Martell and the Barmenian Hdrin Naggara. Martell, now driving for the legendary Luthorian McKinnon team, was able to secure the seventh fastest lap in a vastly inferior piece of machinery. His teammate, the Sekowan Marihito Yamabe, only managed to set the eleventh fastest lap. McKinnon team manager Dennis Ronalds admitted the team was struggling, but that "all means within the reach of the McKinnon personnel are being utilized to discover and implement the extra pace for our racing vehicles". The Barmenian Naggara, with his 18 years the youngest driver on the grid, managed to get his Herzmojad Brmstán up to sixteenth place. While the team manager of the Barmenian team was hoping for a race win it seems the beautiful orange car is a backmarker. Nonetheless the young Naggara set a blistering lap, though he did crash after 24 laps, losing the rear end before crashing into the barriers at turn 14. The most disappointing time of the session was that of Shmíl Jrl, a relative of the Barmenian Twin Sultans, who set a time of 1:38.685, a staggering 8.718 seconds slower than the time set by Doggett.

Image

It has also been announced that Dolgavia will no longer host a Grand Prix, reducing the number to sixteen races on the upcoming calendar. One team was unable to meet the first test session goals and was therefore also removed from the list, reducing it to ten teams and twenty cars in total. The FORIWC management has scheduled one more testing session before the first Grand Prix will be held in Barmenistan. With this last session the organization is hoping that Piscatore and McKinnon are able to increase their pace to create a very close and tense title battle.

Twenty eight cars to compete in renewed Formula One International World Championship
Under Jelbek leadership, FORIWC will host 14 Grand Prix

Image
The field of drivers and constructors is expanded to 14 teams fielding 28 cars

The Jelbic Khagan has once again emerged as a magnanimous figure in international sport with the announcement that the long-defunct Formula One International World Championship shall soon begin a new season.

Fourteen of the world's premier motorsport teams have converged upon Barmenistan's Knsékbeid Hldjezi'rtsestifíestinyrfluz Brmestán (Barmenistan International Circuit), where FORIWC will host its first testing session in a week's time. The circuit is the historical testing site of FORIWC, and race fans across Terra expressed elation at the announcement.

FORIWC spokesman Shmil Aranzi announced that the field will be comprised of drivers from across Terra and the cars will use engines from locations as far flung as Yingdala, Vascania, Dorvik, and Deltaria. Motorsport fans the world over are sure to find opportunity to cheer for national and continental pride.

Natural favorites for the competition are the various Jelbic teams, with JJP Petrovan and Herzmojad Brmestan teams with long histories of success in their respective nations of Vanuku and Barmenia. They'll be challenged, however, by a well funded Deltarian team in PRIME, and two teams running Yingdalan engines developed by Xiandai, whose automobiles are world-renowned for their reliability. Similarly, Vulpe Masina and Scuderia Piscatore enter the field with long pedigrees in their native New Endralon and Istalia, and for the first time a Dovanian team from Vascania will compete under the name Asadhautatya.

OOC: Feel free to post RP here or whereever you'd like. The sky's the limit, get wild with it. In a few days I'll post results of the first testing session, and thereafter start the actual races. I've got a few things planned, but feel free to go with whatever you'd like, I'll roll with it!
Just a bunch of shit.

As testing completes in Barmenistan, field appears startlingly competitive
Less than a second separated the lead car and the car in 14th, promising a competitive season

The eyes of the motorsport world were on Sarazah as pre-season testing began for the Formula One International World Championship. Arrayed in the glaring sun of the Barmenistani desert, the cars, millions of LOD invested and literal embodiment of years of development, hopes and dreams, displayed their fresh-painted liveries to hordes of reporters.

Preseason press conferences abounded, and drivers announced their intention to defeat everyone in their way as racing begins in earnest next weekend at the Autodromo Nazionale di Romula for the Istalian Grand Prix, but intentions are only intentions, and reality soon set in when rubber hit pavement at nearly two hundred miles an hour.

Several surprises emerged early in the desert sands of Barmenistan, with the cars of favorite JJP Petrovan Racing of Vanuku faring more poorly than expected given that team's illustrious history. Similarly, several teams struggled with consistency, with their cars setting laps distant from one another, and the seven fastest cars were driven by Jelbics, a point of pride for Jelbic news outlets.

The results of testing suggest that this season's competition will be quite fierce, with 14 of the 28 competitors finishing within a second of each other's times. Of course, a great deal of improvement could still be made before the season begins in earnest, but only one team, Bismarck-Paulus Racing of Dorvik, had neither car finish in the top 14.
Just a bunch of shit.

Piscatore in fine form at home circuit as showers dampen practice session for favorite Doggett, B-P struggles continue
Hyper-competitive lap times again in Romula, Bismarck-Paulus's Horn completes half the laps of nearest competitor after early spin
Image

Rain fell slowly but consistently in Romula as the Formula One International World Championship began its first race weekend, adding unpredictability to what promised to be a tightly competitive practice session at the Autodromo Nazionale di Romula. The drivers did not disappoint, with the field's top seventeen drivers within one second of each other, and with early fireworks from Gunther Horn, who spun out of a slick Turn 7 and into the barrier, requiring nearly 100 of the session's 180 minutes for repairs, and leading to a dismally slow 1:54.024 fastest lap time. His teammate at Bismarck-Paulus, Jens Baumgartner, didn't fare much better, even without extensive repairs, and Bismarck-Paulus Racing seems likely to continue its struggles for the foreseeable future after a disappointing show at testing in Barmenistan last weekend.

The notoriously dedicated Istalian fanbase did not allow the weather to dampen its spirits, and Scuderia Piscatore's Pagono and Neri surely benefited, setting the 2nd and 6th fastest laps, with Pagono an indiscernible .005 seconds off the lead of Xiandai's Yun, who surprised observers with his blistering pace. His teammate, Wang Hua, one of two scions of Xiandai's founding Wang family, struggled some to find similar pace from the car, prompting renewed questions as to Hua's suitability for the seat. His brother, Wang Feng of the Jelbek team Nrktahyeon Wikázsrljijogad, too, struggled to match pace with his teammate.

Benedek Szôllosy, who made some waves in preseason by announcing his personal sponsorship by the Endralonian corporation LTG, attributed his excellent 4th place to KromDrink™. "It gives you speed," he said, gazing down at his hand and wearing a large smile.

Yun Xinyue of Xiandai and Xhevat Kthjellim of Asadhautatya acquitted their Dovanian teams splendidly, posting a surprising 1st and 3rd fastest laps, respectively.

Lawrence Doggett, preseason favorite and lead driver for JJP Petrovan, only .249 seconds off the lead, remarked that the car felt much quicker today than it had in Barmenistan and attributed the improvement to the factory. JJP is the manufacturer of the majority of the field's engines. "When the circuit is dry, as the radar tells us it will be during qualifying and on Sunday, we're confident we'll be competing for the pole and podium."

Doggett on pole in Romula; Asadhautatya, Xiandai, and Piscatore round out front rows for first Grand Prix
On dry track, Petrovan's front man sets the pace

Elimination qualifying for the FORIWC was the news of the day in Romula as a now-dried circuit offered fresh opportunity to the drivers of the series at the pinnacle of Terran motorsport. Though the Istalian skies remained overcast, no rain fell throughout the session, and drivers who struggled in the wet of practice saw the prospect of success.

Lawrence Doggett, in particular, took advantage. The Luthorian performed worryingly poorly in the first qualifying round, finishing only four places above elimination, but found his line in the second, third, and fourth rounds, where he finished only .046 seconds off the track lap record and landed in pole position, the first of the season. Asked about his improvement, Doggett noted that the track had still lost significant grip due to the previous day's rain, an issue which was rectified as the cars lay rubber to asphalt.

Petr Jeztri of Team Klarz F1 and Antni Vrnsrmko Vrn of Nrktahyeon Wikázsrljijogad each had impressive first rounds only to see themselves eliminated in Q2. Jeztri's Klarz lost over 6 seconds of pace between Q1 and Q2, and viewers of the broadcast overheard the Jelbek on the radio: "I've got no ******* power, why have I got no power?" Power issues would be a theme for the afternoon, with Erak's Forestier and PRIME's Fiser similarly losing significant pace between Q3 and Q4, and Mirza Hoshaba of Hermoja Brmestan losing a startling 11 seconds of pace in Q4 relative to his 1:29.964 in Q2. Commentators speculated that a hard curb Hoshaba took as he avoided traffic in the Variante del Rettifilo may have caused damage to Hoshaba's front wing, contributing to the slow down, but Hoshaba declined to comment.

Wang Hua of Xiandai and Vahini Vati of Asadhautatya served as surprising rivals to Doggett, with Vati never more than .2 seconds off the lead in any round, beating Doggett in Q3, and a mere .021 behind the leader in Q4, and Wang pacing the field in Q3. The strong showing for Xiandai in qualifying after Wang's teammate set the fastest practice lap yesterday has many commentators pegging that constructor as an early contender.

Though Piscatore's Danilo Neri failed to break out of Q1, Peppino Pagono maintained his strength in front of his home crowd, qualifying in P4 and setting the fastest lap in Q2.
Just a bunch of shit.
