Lol Indrala forcing Kazulia to be a vassal of Dankuk.

But seriously, would like Indrala to get involved. We need to be involved.

Interesting. I wonder if we could compile a compendium of alliances and rivalries not as a binding measure but to determine who's inclined towards what.

I second this idea. Particracy's history is so lengthy and complex that it would be hard for one person to put together these web of alliances and rivalries. If players share what they know about their current and previous countries relations, we can start trying to map them out.

+1

I like that because it would allow this to develop more organically. Personally I like RPs with as little planning as possible.

Link to OOC forum thread for info on the war: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=7739&p=126768#p126768

In Accordance with Rule 23.1, which states:

"23.1 Role-play events between nations, such as wars, will be officially recognised if before they are commenced, in all of the concerned nations a RP event bill outlining the event is approved by a 2/3rds majority of all players with seats (not just those with seats who vote) and over 50% of the seats in the legislature. This bill must specify the necessary and possible consequences of the role-play event, as well as a clause that deals with the eventuality of one or more players becoming absent for more than a specified time, and how such an absence is to be interpreted in in-game terms."

All Parties voting for this OOC RP Resolution consent to participation of [Nation] in the "Particracy's World War RP" found at: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=7740, specifically along the lines outlined in the fully updated and amended Original Post of that Thread. This thread outlines the necessary and possible consequences of the role-play event. [Nation] reserves the right to ignore "shoot" RPs where they adversely effect [Nation] or the overall RP and which are not planned out in advance between [Nation] and one or more other players, and [Nation] agrees not to "shoot" RPs on its own, but to stick with the "booked" angles, generally in line with the events described in the thread.

According to the rules, this resolution will bind all players in [Nation] to conduct the RP through the duration, or until such time as [Nation] sues for peace in RP. It may only be passed by 2/3rds of all active RL players in [Nation] who also have seats, and then only if that number is more than 50% of the IG Legislature.

If [Nation] players do not RP for more than 7 RL days without prior notice, it shall be assumed that [Nation]'s Government IG has fallen and [Nation] will immediately be considered to have sued for peace under terms favorable to [Nation]'s opponents, but which in no way otherwise pose an existential threat to [Nation]'s national integrity or sovereignty. In this event [Nation] agrees to accept the terms of the surrender, which will remain binding on [Nation] until a RL player returns to renegotiate the terms. In the event of a surrender, [Nation] may not rejoin the RP at a later time.

This resolution will take effect immediately upon receiving the requisite number of votes, and the actual passage of the bill will serve as ratification.

Are we all happy to begin ratifying this in our nations as an RP Bill?

Wouldn't it make sense to have an outline of the storyline before asking countries to pass it? In that way, we know what we're signing up for.

Based on what we've seen so far, my thinking is that this war could centre on a Trigunia-Hutori conflict (provided the Trigunian players are interested). Both are former great powers who would relish the opportunity to get one over on their rival and return themselves to former glory. The initial outbreak of conflict would between other nations, each aligned with one of Hutori or Trigunia, and both might seek to draw their "sponsor" into the conflict. On top of that, I think such a conflict would be difficult for the Great Powers to navigate. Kazulia would naturally be aligned with Hutori but Istalia and Vanuku would be less clear cut, especially if Vanuku and Trigunia build up a closer relationship in the run-up to the outbreak. But by making the alliances/rivalries less clear cut in this way, we can help explain why the Great Powers are initially uninvolved.

I will try to gain Valruzia's players support to engage Valruzia in the planned conflict and I offer my support for the whole idea. I've already created a bill calling for consent for Valruzia's engagement in the conflict with an additional provision that a unilateral, unreasonable withdrawal from the conflict may be vetoed by me as nationmaster for Valruzia to keep the quality of the role-play at the highest possible level.

When it comes to the possible cause of the conflict, I believe that indeed the recent RP'ied conflict between Dorvik and Valruzia sounds like a good idea but as it turned out it was short-lived as the fascist government in Dorvik was rejected. So either we can forcibly prolonge this conflict or look for something else.
