Kazulia intervenes in the liberation of Statrica, Operation Eagle Continues, Operation Fire Storm Begins

Since the liberation of Statrica dubbed Operation Eagle began in 4425, the international coalition part of the liberation have succeeded in liberating most parts of Statrica. However, resistance troops from the Dovani Union have shown heavy resistance to Lourennais, Talmorian, and Keymonite troops. Because of this, Kazulian Military Officials traveled to Eroncourt to discuss matters on how to successfully break the Dovani Union's tough resistance. Meetings have been long but successful.

In response to the DU's small victories, the Kazulians began airstrikes against hotspots of high Statrican resistance as well as reinforcements from Hanzen and Xsampa. The Statrican troops were no match for the Kazulian airstrikes and the swift counterattack from Lourenne, Talmoria, and Keymon. Talmorian troops in southeast Statrica have had more success defeating troops than they have in the west. The naval invasion of Statrica bordering the Anantonese Ocean was successful, but troops have found it difficult to advance inland as a result of Hanzen/Xsampa Reinforcements. Troops however on the DU's side have begun to lose morale because of the arrival of Kazulian forces. Statrican troops have put up a tremendous resistance to the Northern Council as well as Talmoria, but the introduction of Kazulia's troops in the war may have been the beginning of the end for Statrica.

Lourenne and Talmoria have initiated a new plan to liberate Ntoto as well from the colonial nationalism of the Dovani Union. The Lourennais Armed forces have named it: Operation Fire Storm. Operation Fire Storm has commenced, and it's main objective is to liberate Ntoto within 3 months. Soon after Operation Eagle began, Talmorian troops began to send troops to Ntoto as well in an effort to liberate the country. Their efforts have fallen short as a result of Ntoto's northern border being heavily defended by large, strong fortifications. Large artillery pieces from Talmoria have begun to bombard the large fortifications created by the Ntoto Army. A full siege is expected from the west in order to flank the enemy troops while the fortifications of the north. While infantry from Talmoria begins the siege, a naval invasion will took place on Ntoto's western coast. Ships from the Lourennais and Talmorian Navy transported troops to the coast and began to take ground. However, much like Statrica, troops from the Dovani Union have set up a strong resistance to the Invasion and have slowed down progress. Jungle and guerilla warfare from the DU had made it somewhat difficult for Talmoria and Lourenne.

While Statrica looks to be crumbling, the international coalition have started another long and arduous battle in Ntoto and is far from finished. Kazulian intervention in Ntoto is still unknown but it is likely that Kailua will join the battle soon. Efforts to secure Western Dovani are ongoing and are close to being successful on behalf of the Northern Council and Talmoria.

Zardic First Fleet arrives off the coast of Utembo
May 4428

Coast of Utembo - Underneath the guise of transporting ships sold to Ostland, the Zardic First Fleet is comprised of Carrier Strike Group 1 and Carrier Strike Group 2 including one of the state-of-the-art flagships of the Zardic Navy the Onassus-class aircraft carrier the ZNS Alexandra Onassus. The Zeno Morona-class frigate's that were transferred to Ostland were staffed by joint crews of Zardic and Ostland personnel, in what was called a training mission. Zardugal's Federal Congress authorized involvement in the "Dovani War" or "Dovani Conflict" and proceeded to skirt around involvement, until now. Ships of the Zardic Navy's First Fleet appeared off of the coast of Utembo and were shortly joined by ships of the Ostland Navy and by midnight a large mass of ships had arrived and were just off the territorial waters of Utembo.

When the clock struck 5 minutes past midnight, the Zardic ships launched several dozen cruise missiles towards Dovani Union targets located within Utembo. Zardic Eastern Command (ZAREASTCOM/EASTCOM) Commander General Arkadio Sparteno (Zardic Marine Corps) released a press statement from the HQ of the Zardic Eastern Command detailing information regarding the attack. Gen. Sparteno noted that the attack was a precision attack meant to "...diminish and cripple enemy infrastructure and communications." it is reported that the mission also focused on SEAD (Supression of Enemy Air Defenses) which permitted the large fleet of attack aircraft to strike ground targets and formations of Dovani Union troops in Utembo, which has been occupied by the forces of the Dovani Union.

OOC:

Revolutionary Socialist Militia of Kalistan to launch limited, last minute intervention into Statrica.

Working this out with Lourenne, the RSMoK will drop three batteries (18 guns) and two Battalions of light infantry (400 grunts) into Statrica as a rearguard force, not necessarily meant to intervene on behalf of the DU, but just to sting Lourenne. This intervention will not change the outcome of the invasion. RSMoK expects to lose between 70 and 80 percent. As I was mentioning to @Luis1p, it is more like a "Che Goes to Bolivia" move, where the Guerrillas can't seem to get much together, until they finally run out of supplies, get sick and are crushed by the people who didn't know they were there until the Guerrillas were on their last legs.

Kalistan proper does not acknowledge the intervention.

IC:
The Statrican Diaries
Day 2

The Guns were dropped off last night, along with the rest of the Infantry. I put most of the infantry to bed, but set the first watch. Soon we will begin patrols, circling out from the firebase, trying to make contact with DU elements and the local population. We expect our arrival here will go entirely without notice, at least for the time being, but that won't last long. I'll keep our pickets out at 5 clicks, and keep the FOs out at 7: there's a nice set of hills north of here that look over into the roads leading between Statrican cities here in the North and Lourenne beyond the frontier. If the Lourenne flies fall into the web, the FOs have gotta know first, and then they have to get out of there, so they'll fall back to the pickets and then come back to the base.

It's really hard to believe how far things have gone, how far I've come. To think: Just over fifteen years ago, I was in Lourenne. We were talking peace. And now I'm in just a couple hundred miles south of there, in the countryside, living off the land as the Political Officer of the Militia's expeditionary unit. Its true, the Party didn't even let the new President know we were leaving. I ought to pissed. I would have wanted it different if it were me. But it isn't... anymore.

Surely the Party knows this is a hopeless affair: Statrica is almost entirely overrun. I should be happy. They kept their sh-t together this long. But this has the feeling of being "too little, too late." The goal is not to turn back the tide. Lourenne and their imperialist friends have more or less won. But The Party wants to make it costly.

It's significantly warmer here than in Ananto. And a lot dryer. And a lot more sparsely populated. But our morale is excellent, all of our guns have arrived, our troops are in place, and tomorrow, we begin the conditioning.

I miss Kaliburg already. It has been my home for ten years, but now, I have a new job for the Republic. I won't fail.

OOC: this was made on behalf of colonelvesica.

Hutorian Armed Forces make positive gains in Temania, pushes DU towards Sea.

The war effort in Southern Dovani is moving along the lines of a well-oiled machine as the Hutorian steamroller continues its liberation of Temania from the clutches of the Dovanian Union. This being said as the Joint Headquarters confirmed reports of Hutorian gains in Temania.

On the background of the nation's advances in New Alduria, the Joint Headquarters announced that the Hutorian Armed Forces has liberate 2/3 of Temania from the Dovanian Union. In a press conference before members of the media and various military commanders, the Chief of Staff asserted that the Hutorian Armed Forces' gains in Temania is a textbook example of the might of the Northern Council. The Hutorian Armed Forces continues its thrust in Temania towards eradicating the Dovanian Union's last stronghold on the island itself, citing their recent defeat as sending the DU on the retreat towards the ocean. General David Ashcroft, Northern Council Supreme Commander Temania, asserts that victory over the DU on Scribble was only a matter of time. He added that the DU forces on Scribble had their moral beaten as it was now on the defensive, having lost large amounts of its former territory. This comes as the Hutorians are preparing their final thrust offensive to send the DU into the ocean, as their backs now face the sea. It is only a matter a time before the Hutorians are to throw the mountains into the sea.

The IV Hutorian Airborne Corps captured the Temanian capital in a late night blitz, catching DU combatants off-guard, this according to media defence outlets. Media outlets operating in the capital reported that Hutorian and Kazulian warplanes conducted more than 200 airstrikes against positions on the outskirts and inner quarters of the Temanian capital, which was immediately followed by a airborne blitz by the IV Hutorian Airborne Corps. Although causalities have not been reported, it was reported that causalities were heavy on the side of the DU with a sizeable number of causalities reported on the Hutorian Airborne paratroopers. The midnight blitz launched by the Hutorian Airborne had reportedly caught DU forces off guard, mainly due to the elements of surprise and speed. According to the Joint Headquarters, the Second Army had been rotated to the outskirts to reveal the efforts of the airborne corps which caught an intense battle for control over the city.

To the mountains in the east, the First Army's thrust through the mountains which is being spearheaded by the 7th Mountain Infantry Division is slugging as equipment and troops are being transported through the mountains. Whilst their thrust is slugging, constant air coverage maintains a degree of safety as Hutorian and Kazulian aircraft provide close air support, "bringing down entire mountains" in-order to ensure that First Army maintains its thrust. Meanwhile, the Third Army is said to be intensifying its push on the eastern coast of the nation. The maneuvers of the Hutorians are increasing forming into a pincer movement with an encirclement being in the works.

It has been rumoured that Hutorian special forces are operating in the region in a counter-insurgency capacity. Utilising the Kazulian engineered "Strike Force" tactic, Hutorian special forces teams are "ambushing the ambushers". Introduced by Kazulian Paratroopers acting as stroke troops, the Strike Force tactic centres on stunning the enemy, eliminating the possibility of escape, providing overwhelming firepower and force and ensure the target(s) were eliminated all at the same time. Strike Force tactic reacted to enemy ambushes, escapes and could also be called in by trackers or patrols who had made contact with the enemy and then called for reinforcements. Extremely synchronised in nature, the strategy is the pinnacle of Kazulian counter-insurgency tactics. The Hutorian special forces teams engaging in COIN tactics in Temania are proving to be extremely deadly when paired with the Strike Force tactic.

Throughout the liberated regions of the Temania and those which the Hutorians are currently engaged in intense battles over, tunnel systems are being destroyed through heavy ordinance. According to war correspondents on the ground, once a tunnel system is found the tunnel entrances were collapsed, thus trapping SOBs. Bunker busting missiles are reportedly being used in the general area once it was certain that the SOBs were trapped mainly due to the fact that the missiles could punch deep holes into the ground, leaving nothing but a large crater in its wake.

With the Hutorians continuing their steamroll of Dovanian Union forces in Temania, it is only a matter of time before the DU will be forced to retreat to the mainland where a rumoured Kazulian offensive is supposedly waiting for them.

Insurgent Uprising In Temania; Division in the DU as Cifutingan Joins Fray? Rumours Swirling Over Medinese Empire’s Future
October 4428

OOC: I’m tired and need to post, I’ll return later and write it in prose. For now, this should do :D

- Plainclothes non-uniformed special forces slipped into large number of Temanian villages launch surprise attack on a massive scale across ‘liberated’ Temania: hidden weapons utilised to cause huge casualties, civilians smuggled across border. Tide turning against the NC?
- Tunnels reportedly evacuated in region in response to Strike Force tactics some months ago: mountains and jungles main focus now say analysts.
- DU denies it is losing; “we planned for this,” says Azeez calls for citizens not to panic.
- Azeez says he’s on “good terms” with Xsampa-Hazen despite reports of a growing dislike over disruptive and chaotic policies.
- Azeez negotiating Vanakalamese solution with Xsampa-Hanzen.
- Azeez rumoured to be preparing to step down as Emperor; Aaban waits patiently in the wings
- Medinese Empire passes constitutional reforms setting out liberation process for invaded states; Azeez says he won’t initiate it yet for anyone.
- Cifutingan joins the DU; expected to join military effort with developed navy and attack flow of Ostland troops through Midway
- More nations expected to join as sympathy for the movement grows.
I go by Ashley now and use she/her pronouns. This is a really old account, I don’t play now.

I was a mod in classic for a bit, then I helped make Marcapada and WM there for a while. As of 2020 I’m co-ordinating Pachapay’s development.

The Statrica Diaries
Day 17

We got a tip from a local villager that Lourenne would be coming across Bridge 7, some 12 miles north of the fire base. Bridge 7, the Pont d' La Maison, is a bridge which spans a large gorge, under which flows the Rivière Maison more than 600 feet below. The Bridge is a major chokepoint in the artery that ties the Northern frontier to the points south in these parts. There were ways around, of course, but this was the most direct route. So destroying it would be a setback for Lourenne, who has been flooding troops into Statrica through this corridor. Captain Guerra immediately put the artillery on the Bridge. The fire missions began at precisely 20:22 last night.

To our chagrin, the advancing column halted just before the Bridge, while the firing had begun. The Bridge was destroyed right in front of the Lourennaise forces, but the FOs reported the Vanguard remained untouched by the fire. We attemtped to adjust fire, but the Lourennaise column had scattered and our rounds fell ineffectively. Which of course gave away the position of the firebase and alerted them to the presence of a new force in Statrica. My job was to get those forward observers out of their positions. I immediately called over on the encrypted radio "Redbird." And before I replaced the mic on the handle, I knew the FOs were on their way back.

Following the firemissions, Comrades Guerra called me, Machado, and Filbert together in the Command hut. "Comrades." I started. "They know we are here now. I'd hoped that we could hold off long enough to at least expend our ammo."

"Tanya," Guerra said. "You could have kept the FOs out and we could have dumpexed on the stalled Lourenners. I disagree with your call to pull them in."

I nodded and asked the other two what they thought. "Well, Tanya," Filbert began. "You're in command here..."

"No, Comrade," Guerra said. "She is just the Commissar, and she is only in charge of strategy and political affairs. She is not in command. I'm the Commanding officer of this operation."

I was worried that the Guerra and Filbert were going to come to blows. "Comrades. Guerra is right, She is in command, and I am just the Commissar."

"But you're the..." Filbert began. I cut him short. "No longer, Comrade. I am just a simple political officer. Let's look at this situation tactically. I called those FOs off because our strategic situation is about to change. We could have hit those troops, but you bet the FOs would have been hit by fast movers coming in just now. They'll scout the surrounding hills, and then they'll widen their scan. We need to be gone by the time they get here."

"If I may," Machado spoke up. "I would suggest that Tanya is correct. We're about to become grunts. The sooner that we get those guns dismantled, the quicker we get out of here. The FO's will be back in 4 hours. I suggest we also call the pickets in and get on the move."

Machado was my pick. I don't have to say are not our real names: If this book is ever published, I'll reveal the identities of the protagonists, but at any rate, Machado had trained me while I was finishing up with the State. Machado always had my back. I liked him. Guerra, the CO of the unit, not so much. She was an old LAFA commander from the Ananto Straits Conflict and was more than salty. She resented my pick as political officer. She said "Tonya has no experience. She'll f--k everything up." She also didn't like that, as commissar, I was put in the billet of co-commander: I did strategy, she did tactics. It was the only way he would come along, but the Militia would not send anyone but me.

Filbert was an enigma, but this time he agreed with Machado. Guerra, realizing she was outvoted, gave in. "Fine. Filbert, put the men to breaking down the guns, and soldiering them shut. We need to be on the road as soon as the FOs and the pickets get in." She paused. "I can't believe those f--cking Canrilaise paused at the bridge head... What a waste."

Filbert looked up. "Captain, it was impossible to know that. I think we made the right call." That was cold comfort for Guerra.

I left the command hut, and went out to inform the guns to begin soldering the cannons and dismantling them. Guerra gave the order to smash the crypto. We'd be all voice from here on out. Less than 3 weeks in country...
