The Games of the I Olympiad - Amoudry
Posted: Tue Aug 14, 2018 8:53 am
The Lourennian Association for Recreational and Professional Sport (LARPS) (Canrillaise: Association Lourennaise de Sport Récréatif et Professionnel), along with the governing bodies of eight sports, has announced that it will be hosting an Olympic competition. The Olympics has not existed in some time throughout Terra and professional sports have been largely neglected in recent years, leaving professional athletes with few options to show off their skills. Lourenne, however, has been very active in encouraging everyone to participate in sporting activities, and thus Lourenne has been selected as the host nation for these Games.
The sports that will be contested are:
Softball
Tennis
Golf
Swimming
Diving
Croquet
Gymnastics
Kayaking
A comprehensive list of events can be seen in the next post.
The venues for each of these sports are:
softball - Hebert Yards, Amoudry (Camden Yards)
tennis - Stade d'Amoudry, Amoudry (Australian Open complex)
golf - Amoudry National Golf Club, Amoudry (TPC Summerlin)
swimming - ocean near Parmentier
diving - ocean near Parmentier
croquet - Palais D'Or Parade Grounds, Amoudry (Horse Guards Parade)
gymnastics - Parmentier Municipal Stadium, Parmentier (The Forum)
kayaking sprint - Valois River, Valois (Yarra River)
kayaking slalom - Olympic Whitewater Stadium, Valois (2016 Olympic heat gate pattern)
The host committee has outlined standards for the Games, mainly centered around amateur participation and all-around abilities. Thus, only a limited amount of Olympians will be allowed for each sport. Countries DO NOT have to enter athletes for every sport, although it is encouraged.
The entry format is below. There must be at least one amateur on each team of at least three players - please designate them with an (a) next to their name.
